in Behind The Books

<—- I just found out that Lisa Desrochers’ super-steamy romance/taboo-ish love triangle (A Little Too Far) is on sale today, AND!!! The next two upcoming books in the series are up for pre-order and also on sale today!! Best news ever! For those of you that like “my kinda” books and haven’t read “A Little Too Far” yet, this one’s for you! Here’s my book review. You’ll see!! ;)

Here is the “Too Far” SERIES READING ORDER (all linked up to Amazon and the sale pricing)

And for those of you that HAVE read it, I thought I’d put up the chat transcript from a few weeks ago (on October 2nd 2013). Lisa Desrochers was right here chatting with us right after we read her book, and we went nuts! BUT BUT BUT!!! If you haven’t read book #1 yet, SKIP this chat below and get reading. You’re gonna love it!

Also make sure to not read the synopsis for book #2 (until you’ve finished book #1).

Ready to read that chat? (P.S. Excuse my “zombie face” – that’s what I look like on Facebook right now, and it looks like the chat-system is pulling in some of our Facebook faces. So that’s me in Zombie-mode. You know… to get into the Halloween spirit). ;) The chat is a bit weird in it’s sequence as the author was backtracking trying to answer all of our questions, but here it is, exactly as it took place.

Don’t forget—> BE CAREFUL! There are SPOILERS BELOW (in the chat)!! :D

Hi Lisa! myself and four friends are reading A Little Too Far together in October, super excited!

3:05
Comment From Guest

The book was amazing!

3:05
Lisa Desrochers:

Suzie is a rockstar. She’s everything anyone could want in an agent. And I think she’s a vampire cuz she never sleeps. ;-)

3:05
Comment From Lori LovesBooks

Lisa, your book is one my favorite reads this year!! We had so much fun doing a group read on Maryse’s site

3:05
Comment From Sara

I know you probably won’t answer this, but who is book 3 about?! Maybe a hint…? :)

3:05
Comment From Maryse

Vampires are great too! ;)

3:06
Lisa Desrochers:

Bookswithcass– Yay! Hope you guys like it!

3:06
Comment From Kirsten

It certainly rocked my world. Lisa where did the inspiration for this book come from and did you know from the start who she would end up with?

3:06
Comment From Guest

i loved the book , can i have an ALessandro please?

3:06
Comment From bookswithcass

Thanks Lisa! I have high hopes!

3:06
Comment From Guest

I ADROED A Little Too Much! I finished it yesterday. I can’t wait till book 2 :)

3:06
Lisa Desrochers:

Lori– You guys were hilarious =)

3:07
Comment From Kelsey

they left me out Lisa!!

3:07
Comment From Lori LovesBooks

LOL! It was so much fun, Maryse even got in on the reactions, we loved it!

3:07
Comment From Lauren

Loved your book! Literally just finished it so very much still on my brain! Can’t wait for book 2 :)

3:07
Lisa Desrochers:

Sara– Book three is Sam’s story. I know she’s not everyone ALTF fav, but she’s got a pretty amazing story to tell. I’m just finishing revisions.

3:08
Abigail Tyson:

Hi Lisa! Here’s my question for you (one I haven’t asked yet, I promise!): What is your favorite thing to do for inspiration? Go on a walk, watch YouTube videos, eat a ton of ice cream? (That last one may be mine…)

3:08
Comment From Sara

Thnx! Can’t wait. :)

3:08
Comment From Guest

Will Lexie and Trent show up in the other books?

3:08
Comment From Maryse

I mostly giggled… ’cause I knew and they didn’t. ;) I especially loved the “there goes the collar” comments. I counted 3 of ‘em… as you guys got to that part. LOL!!!

3:08
Comment From Kelsey

I read it alone and i was in from the start, i didnt like Sam, we have discussed her at length

3:09
Lisa Desrochers:

Kirsten– I don’t really have specific inspiration for my books. They start when a character pops into my head and starts tell me their story. I didn’t know who Lexie would end up with until she told me.

3:09
Comment From Lori LovesBooks

I can’t wait for the Reverend Allesandro’s story! squee Even though it ended how I wanted, I loved him!

3:09
Comment From Linda

Hi Lisa! Loved this book where did you get the idea from? Any truth to it?

3:09
Lisa Desrochers:

For those of you who want Alessandro…you’ll just have to pick up A LITTLE TOO MUCH in a few weeks ;-)

3:09
Comment From Lori LovesBooks

That part was my favorite too Maryse- I think everyone of us said that when we got there

3:10
Comment From Kandace Lovesbooks

I’m one of the few people how didn’t hate Sam! YAY! For her story

3:11
Comment From Maryse

By the end I had no idea who I wanted. I loved them both equally. But I’m just thankful that we get a book #2 for one of those awesome guys.

3:11
Comment From Lori LovesBooks

Yes, Kandace had Sam’s back throughout the story….even though Sam was totally exaggerating and killing our moments with her texts and facebook

3:11
Lisa Desrochers:

Abigail– I really don’t do anything for inspiration. I just try to keep up with the characters in my head. My dictation isn’t all that good, so I miss stuff a lot.

3:11
Comment From Kelsey

Dare i ask if you are religious? the confessional scenes were so good and the hail mary’s etc

3:12
Lisa Desrochers:

“There goes the collar” was classic. Made me LOL =)

3:12
Comment From Kirsten

I was wondering the same Kelsey

3:13
Lisa Desrochers:

Linda– Tragically, I never had a hot stepbrother or a hot soon-to-be-priest in my life. It’s all Lexie =)

3:13
Comment From Lori LovesBooks

Her confession was one of my favorite parts – we’ve been doing “mock” confessions of our own ever since! LOL

3:14
Lisa Desrochers:

The teams seem to be pretty evenly split. This makes me happy, cuz I love them both too =)

3:14
Comment From Lori LovesBooks

I loved the old lady that lived across from her, she was a perfect addition to the story

3:14
Comment From Maryse

Agreed! I’ve grown up in “little Italy” in Canada and have known women just like her. The *perfect* touch.

3:15
Lisa Desrochers:

Kelsey– I’ve had several Catholic friends, and my husband, tell me she went a little overboard in confession, but she seriously didn’t know the priest spoke English, so…

3:15
Comment From Kelsey

Kandace is having problems with her network

3:15
Comment From Kelsey

ha ha brilliant

3:15
Lisa Desrochers:

Lori– I’d love to hear some of those….or maybe not O_O

3:16
Lisa Desrochers:

Grandma Moses? She cracked me up =)

3:17
Comment From Lori LovesBooks

this might not be the place, Lisa LOL

3:17
Comment From Kelsey

lisa we devised a list of questions and im totally star struck i cant remember them lol

3:17
Lisa Desrochers:

Kelsey– There’s a star? Where????

3:18
Comment From Maryse

The girls prepared a bunch of awesome questions beforehand, and I fear they may have forgotten a few, so here’s one that I’m copying and pasting in from Kandace: Spoiler————– Did the priest who heard her confessional send her to Allesandro because he knew priesthood wasn’t his calling and he thought she could help him realize that.

3:18
Comment From Linda

It was great!!! I described it to Maryse, “it’s so morally wrong, in all the right places”. It kept me up most of the night!!! Lol

3:18
Comment From Lauren

The scene in the museum cracked me up, actually laughed out loud whilst secretly reading today at work! Rubbing the penis before entering lol

3:19
Comment From Maryse

haha!! YES!!

3:19
Lisa Desrochers:

Kandace– No, Father Reynolds didn’t know. Alessandro didn’t even know. But you’ll be happy to know he thinks Lexie did him a favor.

3:19
Comment From Maryse

I loved how easy he was about it all at the museum. I would have been TOTALLY her!

3:19
Comment From Kristina

I’m so excited to read Alessandro’s story

3:19
Lisa Desrochers:

Linda– haha! Glad you liked =)

3:20
Comment From Maryse

Another hilarious question from Kandace: Did anyone pick up Allesandro’s collar of the street? If yes, can I have it?

3:20
Comment From Lori LovesBooks

I think Lexie did us a favor, I cannot wait for book ! – how about another group read, Maryse?

3:20
Comment From Maryse

(sorry Kandace) I couldn’t resist. ;)

3:20
Comment From Lori LovesBooks

book 2

3:21
Comment From Maryse

ABSOLUTELY Lori!! I wanna freak out with y’all this time.

3:21
Lisa Desrochers:

Lauren– People think I’m crazy when I say this, but that all comes from the characters. I totally cracked up when Lexie said that too :D

3:21
Lisa Desrochers:

Kristina–Glad to hear it =)

3:21
Comment From Kelsey

I’m from England Lisa and ABBY was from England also.. LORI and STEPHANIE said she reminded them of me!! She came from York an hour away from my home, i loved that a brit girl was in your book too. Where did you get the idea and why did you decide on York as her home town??

3:22
Lisa Desrochers:

Kandace– He was wearing his collar last we saw him ;p

3:22
Comment From Lauren

Yep me to I was embarrassed for her, could just imagine myself cringing in the same situation! Would have been in and out of there in a flash. Wouldn’t have been able to keep a straight face

3:22
Comment From Lori LovesBooks

Oh Kandace will be disappointed

3:22
Comment From Guest

Can I just say one of my favorite parts is when Alessandro and Lexie are in her apt getting intimate, and I loved how he was watching his every move, watching her. It was just so intimate and I felt like I was right there.

3:23
Comment From Tracie

Sorry I forgot to sign in!!

3:23
Comment From Maryse

I’m serious… I have NEVER wanted a book-kiss so bad. I was hot under my collar so I can imagine how hot Allesandro was under his. It must have been singeing him!

3:23
Comment From Guest

Will the other characters show up in the other books?

3:24
Lisa Desrochers:

Kelsey– Regarding Abby: she’s no different than any of my other characters. She popped into my head fully formed. I tried to make her from South Africa, but she told me she was from York. And, actually, the first book I ever wrote, which will never see the light of day, was a YA set in York. =)

3:24
Comment From Lori LovesBooks

I know Tracie! I was so caught up at that point

3:24
Comment From kandacelovesbooks

I want that collar

3:25
Comment From Maryse

Okay here’s one that Kelsey forgot that she asked: “Who was the little Italian who kept peeing in the doorway?? Lol oh and why was the evil old woman giving her “stink eyes”"

3:25
Comment From Kristina

Lisa, will we learn any more about Abby & Grant and their relationship?

3:25
Lisa Desrochers:

Guest– It was pretty intense for him, and he didn’t want to miss any of it.

3:26
Comment From Tracie

Just the way he talked to her was so damn hot, because he’s supposed to be celibate and he has these sexy thoughts and that sexy mouth. It seemed so forbidden but God I wanted to be her!!

3:26
Comment From Kristina

Maryse – yes the peeing boy! hilarious!

3:26
Comment From Kelsey

wow great answer Lisa regarding Abbey

3:27
Lisa Desrochers:

Guest– Alessandro is in all of book 2, and book three is Sam’s. If the book gods smile on me, Katie and Abby will get to tell their stories too

3:27
Abigail Tyson:

Lisa, did you ever grapple with the ending? Did you ever want Alessandro to win her in the end? Or were you always certain Trent would be her choice?

3:27
Comment From kandacelovesbooks

you may have already answered this because I’m so late in getting on… but was Sam really evil and being a bad friend. my reading group disagrees with my theory.

3:28
Comment From Tracie

will there be chats between Alessandro and Lexie in his book? I would love if they kept in touch.

3:28
Comment From Kelsey

There’s not many questions about Trent! he was such the protector, a man to reckon with

3:28
Comment From Maryse

Great question Abigail!! I wanted to know that, too! :)

3:29
Lisa Desrochers:

Grandma Moses is your average bitter old woman. Lexie’s getting some, so she must be immoral, and maybe the devil. The kid was just a kid. He wanted to sleep with Lexie, so the peeing thing was just an excuse to get his junk out and show it to her ;-)

3:29
Comment From Maryse

Will there be a POV from Trent during any of the sad moments from book #1… like OH!! When he drunk-dialed her and there was a girl there. Or any part with Sam…

3:29
Comment From kandacelovesbooks

she had to end up with Trent Al’s story was too good to not have his own book.

3:29
Lisa Desrochers:

Kristina– With any luck, Abby and Grant will be book 5 =)

3:30
Comment From Tracie

I loved the time they spent in Corsica. His mother had such a presence.

3:30
Comment From Kelsey

Please bring ABBy to ENGLAND for visits if she gets a book , she could visit Aunt Kelsey in the North East

3:30
Comment From Maryse

LOL!! Yah and the tsk tsk tsk Grandma Moses’s assumption that she was the devil was cinched when she saw the priest and his “collar” issues. tee hee!!!!

3:30
Comment From kandacelovesbooks

I still think Trent messed around with the drunk dialing girl.

3:30
Lisa Desrochers:

Abigail– It broke my heart that both my beautiful boys couldn’t have their happy ending. But Lexie chose.

3:31
Abigail Tyson:

You just broke me heart a little with that!

3:31
Comment From Kelsey

get his junk out!! lol

3:31
Lisa Desrochers:

Kandace– Sam has issues, which we find out more about in book 3. She’s really not all that bad. And she turns out to be a great friend.

3:32
Lisa Desrochers:

Tracie– They do keep in touch. And they meet up again in book 3.

3:32
Comment From Tracie

I thought that at first too Lisa. I thought he really loved Lexi. But after I thought on it a while, I think neither of them really loved each other, but She really opened his eyes to what he was really doing. I think if they ended up together, they could have had a great life together, but the ending was as it should be. Even though my heart broke for Alesandro.

3:33
Comment From Kelsey

i felt for Alessandro at the end, i must be honest i didnt like the end and i conveyed this to my group here but i didnt realise there was going to be more books at the time so the ending made perfect sense

3:33
Comment From Maryse

I love that one of the girls he “helped” is coming back in the picture for him, now.

3:34
Lisa Desrochers:

Maryse– There was a Trent alternate POV that posted during the blog tour last week from his drunk dial to Lexie.

3:34
Comment From Tracie

Oooohh that makes me really happy!! Love that they will stay in touch, they had such a special relationship.

3:34
Comment From Maryse

Er… why did I put “helped” in quotation marks. That makes it sound seedy. LOL!

3:34
Comment From Maryse

Ah I have to go read it!!! Thank you Lisa!

3:35
Comment From Kelsey

i felt jealous of the new girl in the sample!! Maryse he did “help” her years ago

3:35
Lisa Desrochers:

Tracie– I’ve spent time in Rome, but not Corsica. And in hindsight, there’s some really amazing things in Corsica I wish I’d included but didn’t.

3:35
Comment From kandacelovesbooks

I like they stay in touch too.

3:36
Comment From Maryse

Here’s a question from Kelsey: “Will we get to know more about Alessandro’s mother and her problems?”

3:36
Comment From kandacelovesbooks

I have to say I loved reading this book with my girls. is there going to be a love triangle in the next book too.

3:38
Lisa Desrochers:

We don’t really revisit Alessandro’s family in book 2. He’s got a lot of his own stuff to sort out.

3:38
Comment From Tracie

Lisa, I have to say that this is one of my favorite books ever. The emotions that I had while reading this were intense. My heart beat faster, I got hot cause I was so nervous and my stomach had butterflies. We had the best group read during this one and it made the experience so great. Kandace, Lori, Kelsey, Britton..it was so much fun. I look forward to the rest of the series, Alessandro’s is sure to be a beautiful story!! Thank you Lisa! Big new fan here.

3:38
Lisa Desrochers:

Kandace– not a love triangle like in ALTF, no.

3:38
Comment From Guest

Where can I read Trent’s POV during the drunk dial

3:39
Lisa Desrochers:

Thanks, Tracie. Alessandro’s story is a lot darker than ALTF, and it was hard to write.

3:40
Comment From Kelsey

Have you all the books ready to go? Or are you still writing?

3:40
Abigail Tyson:

What was your favorite scene to write in ALTF? How about the most emotionally draining?

3:41
Comment From kandacelovesbooks

did Trent always want lexie ” that” way our did he finally realize it” that” night.

3:41
Lisa Desrochers:

Had to go find the link to Trent’s POV: http://alphasauthorsbooksohmy.info/blog-tour-alt-pov-giveaway-a-little-too-far-by-lisa-desrochers/

3:42
Comment From Guest

Thanks for the link

3:42
Lisa Desrochers:

Kelsey– Just finishing up revisions on book 3, A LITTLE TOO HOT, which releases 1/21.

3:42
Comment From Tracie

You write a mean sex scene!! I can’t describe it, but the way it’s written, it feels so intimate. The detail is fantastic, the dialogue, brilliant really.

3:42
Comment From kandacelovesbooks

oh man, I’m a sucker for a male POV

3:42
Comment From Tracie

Me too Kandace. Love male POV’s

3:43
Lisa Desrochers:

Abigail– My favorite scenes to write in ALTF were the confession and the museum. Emotionally, the last few Rome chapters kind of tore me up.

3:43
Comment From Maryse

Gah! I know one. I was excited by ANY potential day with Trent and crushed when things didn’t go my way… the “awkwardness” the assumptions, him having to leave early. Did it crush you too, to not be able to indulge the two of them in each other during her trips home?

3:44
Comment From Kelsey

i liked the shower scene when she shaved all her legs and then some!! That really tickled me

3:44
Lisa Desrochers:

Kandace– Lexie and Trent have always known they were harboring deeper feelings for each other, but they wouldn’t let their relationship go there…until it did.

3:44
Comment From Maryse

Tracie – that book started off with a *whooooooo* HOT!!!!! But so well done. I absorbed every word of it and was in LOVE right from the start. Perfect scene.

3:45
Comment From Guest

when does the next book come out?

3:45
Comment From Kelsey

Will the cheating douche appear in future books?

3:46
Lisa Desrochers:

Tracie– Confession: I write the sex scenes first. Seeing how they react in the throes of passion is a really fast way to get to know them. And I just like writing sex scenes ;-)

3:47
Comment From Tracie

It was indeed Maryse!! I was in total love as well. And the beauty of this writing really gave me a difficult choice to make. I loved both men.

3:47
Comment From Maryse

yep, you’ve got those down. ;)

3:47
Lisa Desrochers:

Maryse– It was hard not to get them together. But, realistically, they both thought the other thought they’d made a huge mistake, so…

3:47
Comment From Tracie

Well you do a damn good job. The chemistry is palpable. And Trent was very sexy. I know I’m giving Alessandro all the love, but I really did love Trent, like really loved him!!

3:48
Comment From kandacelovesbooks

more sex scenes please LOL!! LOL!! I know, I’m bad.

3:48
Comment From Maryse

Oh!! Tell us about that first kiss with Allesandro. The one she isn’t sure that she dreamed or not. I want SO BAD a POV scene from him that night… they were soooooo amazing and so intimate and yet so innocent that night.

3:48
Lisa Desrochers:

Kelsey– Originally, he was going to show up in book 3, but it didn’t turn out that way. So, no.

3:49
Comment From kandacelovesbooks

oh… is that a book three hint.

3:50
Comment From Kelsey

They were meant to be together , my hubbies aunt and Uncle were stepbrother and stepsister!! It does sound wrong in so many ways but really its not, gah its just as bad as falling for an “Almost Priest”

3:51
Lisa Desrochers:

Maryse– The only POV of Alessandro’s I’ve written is when he first meets Lexie. (Also posted on the blog tour.) He’s a little more private than Trent, so it’s harder to get inside his head.

3:51
Comment From Maryse

Ah well.. if ever he inspires you to tell what he was thinking… and that temptation to kiss her ever-so-lightly on the lips, I would LOVE to post it. ;)

3:52
Lisa Desrochers:

Kandace– No hint. I’ll tell you anything you want to know about bk 3. Revisions are just about done =)

3:52
Comment From Kelsey

Yes i want to hear and feel that first kiss!!

3:52
Lisa Desrochers:

Maryse– I will keep that in mind. =)

3:53
Abigail Tyson:

Alright everyone, we’re going to be wrapping up soon, so make sure to get all your questions out now!

3:53
Comment From lee m

really want to know when the second book will be available for kindle purchase
