One time, when I was in high school, I was getting breakfast at Hardee’s before I had to go in to work, and the guy at the drive through was hitting on me. I politely declined, but when I got to work and opened my food, his number was inside with his name on a napkin!
When I was 16 I worked at a amusement park. I had a guy hit on me while I was operating the ride. He wanted to g o on a date after I got off. I told him no but thanks. Well he waited for me when I got off and my boyfriend showed up to give me a ride home. Let’s just say that did not go well. For one I did not say I had a boyfriend. Lol. I introduced them then left. Talk about embarrassing.
LOL!! These are cute! Okay I have one!!
One summer, when I was 16, I went camping with my older sisters and met a “cute” boy my age. We held hands for a day and hung out. But in the end… I just wasn’t that into him. I told him I lived in another province and was just vacationing and then I sort of snuck out on him when we left the next day. No phone numbers, no goodbye hug, nothing. (P.S. I actually *did* live in another province, but still had the whole summer to go where I was).
A few weeks later, I went to meet my sister where she worked (HUGE company with tons of employees). Lo and behold, I see their “mailroom guy” handing out the mail. It’s HIM!!! I ducked under her desk, shoving my sister out of the way, hearing the bewildered chuckles and murmurs from her colleagues that noticed my strange *freak-out*.
I hissed at her “It’s that guy from camping!! Shhhhhhh act natural! I told him I didn’t live here! He can’t see me!!”
And like all good sisters, she kept my secret safe. 😉
The time my boyfriend and I traveled to NYC was probably one of the most craziest/fun experiences we have had. It was quite something coming from a smaller city, we felt out of place. So many people!! But overall we had a great time and experience. I’m glad we got the chance to go!
Well, my husband proposed to me on a Christmas Eve which really surprised me actually because I wasn’t expecting it quite yet. He got down on his knee and everything. Then exactly one year later I gave birth on Christmas Eve to my 1st son- our personal joke is how does he top those two going forward ?( not that labor is “romantic”-lol but it was a great “gift!”). Anyways still haven’t topped those two Christmas Eve’s but these memories are always on my mind when we enter the season.
When I was in high school, I was dating a guy named Mike. The store I worked at was under construction and one of them took a liking to me, I was joking with my friends about it and saying about calling him the wrong name. Low and behold it turned out his name was Mike too. Nothing came about with him.
How about crazy embarrassing romantic moment. I was helping backstage at a local community theater while they were putting on A Street Car Named Desire. Well, after the play was over I was helping to clean off the stage and my boyfriend who had been in the audience asked me to come down and talk to him for a few minutes. He was acting a little strange and seemed tense but I said I needed to do one more thing and I’d be right back. All of the sudden he dropped down to one knee and proposed. Here comes the embarrassing part… I was in such shock and so caught up in the moment that I walked right over to him… umm forgetting I was on the stage. I went flying to the ground and broke my right wrist. I have been mortified ever since telling the story. 😮
OMG Kirsten that is CRAZY and awesome and unforgettable and *gasp* OUCH!!!!!! Whoa!!
And Rose, very sweet. Two ultimate gifts in a row!
so a crazy romance moment…i went to an amusement park with a guy and the coaster and the ride was so fun but, i accidentally elbowed him in the face and he got the worst nose bleed. but he’s okay!
Awwww. LOL! You made sure he would never forget you. 😉
So my best friend was throwing me a divorce party in NM, and dared me to hook up with her hot Russian neighbor–so I did. A few months and a a thousand miles later in the Horn of Africa a few of us are sitting at an outdoor bar and here comes this guy who sits in front of me who looks strangely familiar and strikes up a conversation. Turns out, hot Russian neighbor had a twin brother!!! It was him! Comes to show you it is really a small world.
My sister and I went to a rock concert, * Autograph if I remember correctly* and a friend of mine kept asking me out and since it was me and my sisters birthday, he actually went up and told a bouncer guy that it was our birthday and he wanted the band to sing happy birthday to us..Ugh.!!!!..so Thank God they didn’t, but one of the band memebers screamed into the microphone Happy Birthday Sherry and Debbie!!
I was mortified…but we stayed friends and laugh about it now….
My husband took me to California (San Diego) for vacation while he worked. I pretty much shopped and hung out at the beach while he worked all day. However at night he brought me flowers and took me out to dinner for 5 nights straight just because he appreciated me. He told me I deserved it because I take care of our 3 kids while he travels everywhere and he wanted to bring me somewhere we could be together. I thought that was a very romantic gesture and still to this day I remember San Diego fondly.
Had a blast chatting with y’all! Thanks for having me, Maryse! =)
Thank you so much for coming, Lisa!! It was the perfect chat after a perfect read!! 😀
Don’t really have these moments to share
OMG Lindsay!! That one takes the coincidence CAKE!!!
I don’t have anything to funny to share, but there was a sweet date once when I was 16. A boy picked me up, and took me to the beach for a picnic (he packed McDonald’s!). We drank soda out of plastic wine glasses. It was sweet, but I really liked his brother, lol. Oh well 🙂
For my 8th grade dance, my date, Sean, and I went out to Olive Garden, and it must be the punch talking because what started out as throwing lettuce ended with a food fight!! We ended up paying the restaurant $300 ahahaha! Good times!
Before I met my husband I had a huge crush on this really, really hot guy who bartended where my girlfriends and I would hang out sometimes. One night I got up the nerve to talk to him. I asked him if he would like to come over for dinner sometime, that I make great lasagna. He gave me the sweetest sorry look, and said “I’m married” so I came right back with “That’s okay come over for spaghetti instead”. He just smiled and I quickly turned and walked briskly to the restroom where my friends and I laughed at my embarrassment. :p haha
LOL!!! CUTE!!!
My friends and I decided to have crazy fun and went to Cancun for spring break. One night, we were out dancing and singing to Gloria Gaynor’s “I will survive” at Señor Frogs and this cute guy came over to introduce himself. We started dancing and chatting. Fast forward nineteen years, we have three beautiful children and will be celebrating our 17th wedding anniversary in a few months.
I was 18 and home from college for the summer. I went to a wedding reception with my parents and met an amazing guy. We talked and danced and had a great time even though we had just met. So then his girlfriend… (he failed to mention he was there with a girlfriend) comes over to him clearly upset having just witnessed us spending this time together!
He then told her he was breaking up with her because he just met the girl he’s going to marry! I remember thinking oh how sweet, then no…wait a minute…what a jerk!!! Fast forward and I’m back at school and he’s overseas with the Marines. He pursued me for a long time (I made him work for it) and now we have been married for 13 years and have 2 children!
Thank you for this amazing giveaway! This book has been on my TBR list since you wrote the review.
I had heard about this guy for like 8 years from all my friends…whom he was also friends with. We somehow never met even though I was at his high school graduation, were at some of the same parties, and went to several of his hockey games…then, the day I filed for divorce from my husband I went out to a bar to meet some friends and finally met him for the first time. We fell in love instantly…ended up getting married 4 months later…and have been now been married for 8 years!
Thanks for the giveaway!
I’m kicking myself for missing this chat even though I only found out about it a few minutes ago.
When I was in my final year of college I had a friend who I thought was a good person; it turns out he was trying to make some other girl jealous by being friendly with me even though we weren’t romantically involved. At the same time there was this guy that I did like who also liked me back but he had no finesse when it came to kissing. He wasn’t very experienced but I think he got all of his skills from watching porn. I had to let him down easy after that. First kisses shouldn’t leave you with bruised and bleeding lips!
Back in the day before cell phones, when I was 17, I locked my keys in my car on purpose so that this hot guy in my class Chris would give me a ride back to my house. When we got to my house my mom asked what was going on and I told her that I had locked my keys in the car and that Chris was giving me a ride home to get a spare. Then she asks me why I didn’t use my hide-a-key right in front of him! Thanks mom!
Most recent cutest moment from my husband came when I was looking at this Kate spade purse online and really wanted it but opted not to buy it. I came home a week later and he surprised me with it and said “your face lit up when you were talking about this purse so I knew you had to have it.” Two things the fact that he was listening to me…ha ha and the fact that he surprised me just because melted my heart.
My craziest out there romance moments was when my husband and I used to have to keep in touch through long distance. We didn’t have Skype and hardly had money for cell phone minutes. Somehow we made it through a couple years apart visiting most weekends. Thanks!
It was 1978 or 1979 and I was dating a guy in the music business. He told me about this band that he thought was going to be the next best thing. They were on their first tour in America, playing at tiny little venues. He took me to see them, and introduced me to the band. It was U2.
