Hey you guys!! Want a chance to win a free signed copy of My Favorite Mistake? It looks like Chelsea has some extra ARCs (advanced readers copies) of My Favorite Mistake that she brought home from Book Bash and she wants to give away 5 copies to 5 lucky winners here!! Signed! Plus! She let’s us in on some personal details (5 fun facts!) about the book, below.
What’s it about? Here’s a tidbit from the synopsis:
Two secrets. One bet. Who will break first?
Taylor Caldwell can’t decide if she wants to kiss her new college roommate or punch him.
On the one hand, Hunter Zaccadelli is a handsome blue-eyed bundle of charm. On the other, he’s a tattooed, guitar-playing bad boy. Maybe that’s why Taylor’s afraid of falling in love with him, or anyone else. She doesn’t want to get burned, so she needs him gone before it’s too late.
Hunter himself has been burned before, but Taylor’s sexy laugh and refusal to let him get away with anything make her irresistible. Determined not to be kicked out of her life without a fight, Hunter proposes a bet: if she can convince him she either truly loves or hates him, he’ll leave the apartment—and leave her alone.
But when the man behind Taylor’s fear of giving up her heart resurfaces, she has to decide: trust Hunter with her greatest secret, or do everything in her power to win that bet and drive him away forever.
And to have fun with it, she sent me a few “behind the book” tidbits:
Five things you may not know about My Favorite Mistake (these are some of the best “tidbits” I’ve ever received, ’cause she let’s us in on some personal details!!):
- Hunter’s last name is pronounced Zak-uh-deli. I went to school with a kid who had that last name, and I always loved how it sounded. I needed a last name for Hunter and BAM, that was it.
- I lived almost exclusively on Monster, soup and Nutella, Fluff and graham crackers when I wrote it. I’ve never written a book so fast, and I spent every single spare moment I had on it because I wanted to see how the story was going to end, and what was going to happen. I was working full time, so I would come home from work, take a shower, eat and write until 12 or 1 (or sometimes later) in the morning and get up and go to work again.
- The apartment they live in is modeled exactly after the student apartments at the University of Maine. I never lived in one, but I had friends that did, so I could recall the layout from memory.
- I wasn’t a huge fan of peacock feathers before I wrote this book. But Taylor made me love them. And now people are always giving me peacock stuff, or taking picture of peacock things, so I love them now.
- I had actual laughing fits while writing this. It’s a good thing I was at home, or else I would have looked like a lunatic. I’m just as shocked by what comes out of Hunter’s mouth as everyone else is. I am 100% not responsible for him, I swear!
I love this Chelsea!!! I love knowing that Hunter controlled the way. 😉 LOL!
Here’s another tidbit… did you guys know that she’s got another book coming out on January 28th 2014? It’s called My Sweetest Escape, and it’s already up for pre-order on Amazon! —->

My favorite mistake was spending the evening with a man that wasn’t my date at prom. Oops. We have been together ever since and just celebrated our 16th wedding anniversary.
I wouldn’t call it a mistake but definitely a surprise? We had 2 boys ages 10 & 7. We thought we were done having children….(you know where this is going). My husband and I went on vacation and had a really good time ;). Our daughter was born 9 months later. She is an amazing & beautiful 8 year old. I call her our bonus baby!
Recently separated, my friend forced me to give out my phone number to a guy I chatted with all night at the bar. After I gave it to him I thought was a mistake it was and why did I do that. He called and I didn’t call him back for a few weeks and finally answered and agreed to go on a date with him. We have been together for 13 yrs and married for 4. He is my favourite mistake!!
After my divorce, I went out with a guy who I thought was older but was in reality 4 years younger than me. 22 years later – he is still the “ONE”.
My favorite mistake was letting my best friend drag me to her boyfriend’s house so I could meet his brother. We’ve been married 16 years….:) definitely my best mistake.
I went to a blind date and I thought I would regret it but we are now together for six years. 🙂
My favorite mistake would have to be leaving my date to the Junior Prom at the hotel (we were all still partying at this point) and heading out with a guy that I had a HUGE crush on. Horrible right? Well, he forgave me after a while and we’ve been together for twenty-one years and just celebrated our 13th anniversary.
My favorite mistake… I called a payphone (when they existed) to find my friend who hung around town with her friends…and a guy answered…we talked, went out the next day…..32 years later we are still together (married 25 this year), and 2 sons later….Happy as ever……on our 25th anniversary he sent me a picture text message of him answering a pay phone. Gonna love him !!!
My favorite mistake was my one and only one night stand who turned into my husband of the last 10 years!! Sometimes our mistakes make us better or give us what we were looking for!! <3
This book has been on my TBR forever I would LOVE to win a copy!!! Thanks for the chance! And I haven’t made too many BIG mistakes so I feel super lucky! No regrets!
My favorite misstake was a date I regretted accepting. He wasn’t my type but I had a lot of fun with him and I accepted a second date, and a third… We’re not together anymore, but he was a great boyfriend =)
I bumped in to an ex boyfriend on the bus, it had been a few years since I’d seen him but still….we’d dated for quite a while.
I sat beside him and said hello but he was a bit frosty to start with. I persevered, asking how his family were and so on.
Eventually he warmed up and we had a good chat and were getting on like a house on fire until I looked into his eyes and realised that they were THE WRONG COLOUR!
I kid you not – he was my ex’s doppelgänger! I just pretended I knew him until he for off – after acting like a crazy stalker what else could I do?
A man in military uniform walked into the insurance office where I worked. I saw him but he didn’t see me. A co-worker noticed I was staring at him and said she knew who he was through her fiancé. Gave her permission to give him my number but by the time I chickened out and changed my mind I was too late. He called and 35 years and 2 sons later he’s my favorite mmistake:-)
There are so many of them and it’s very hard to choose the number one, so I will write here the more funny. I’ve put two different shoes on and left the house. I was going with my friends to watch a movie. The movie was The Devil Wears Prada. Isn’t it ironic?
Thank you for the giveaway!

The following weekend I had no car and decided to accompany a cousin of my to a party. Needless to say I met the love of my life and we now have two beautiful boys together. I also have not drove over the speed limit since then 😉
I was not a kid person so my husband and I never planned on having children. Well I had a problem with allergies and I ended up getting pregnant. I was pretty scared at first but now I wouldn’t change anything and my daughter is my favorite oops ever!

My favourite mistake was letting my two young sons, (6&7) make me breakfast yesterday. I had chopped fruit served in a bowl (lovely), in a soup of warm tap water ( not lovely)… it was so lovingly diced into small shapes I thought it was wonderful… albeit interesting! (I was 38, he was 26) 2 years later we were married and have been happily married for 10 years! I guess some mistakes turn out to be blessings in disguise! 😉
Big mistake letting the kids decide what they want for breakfast. They always want different things, but shows that they have such different tastes. They are so different in many ways, but I love them all the more. 🙂
My favorite mistake was taking a class at the University, since I needed an extra credit in order to graduate…. I loved the class sooooo much that I ended up changing majors!! I am now going on my 8th year of teaching and LOVING it!!! Luckily, all my pharmacy credits counted towards my teaching career, hee-hee!! 😉
My favorite mistake was separating from my boyfriend – it ended up teaching us both how important we are to each other.
When i was a freshman in high school i was about to have my first kiss and at the last second i chickened out and moved my face from his. And now 15 years and two kids later, i never move from his face. But he still reminds me about that day and we laugh.
Falling for a bad boy. Come on ladies we’ve all had that one bad boy in our lives and he was so worth it!
my favorite Mistake is when I meet Donnie Walhberg and I was so excited and nervous that when I leaned into hug him. I sniffed him!
My favorite mistake taught me a huge lesson about appreciating what I have.
One night stand that turned into a relationship and marriage of 14 years 🙂
My favorite mistake happened one drunk summer night. I had been best friends with this guy since freshman year of college, and during the summer of our junior year, we went to a concert and both got drunk. We got a ride back to my apartment and ended up making out. Turned into us realized we were meant to be, and 14 months later we’re still going strong!
Freshman year in high school I threw a water balloon at a cute guy and it didn’t break. After he chased me around with it and I pleaded not to break it over my head, he decided not to break it over my head and asked me out instead. We are still together after 37 years!
My Favorite mistake was making this boy who picked on me in HS walk me home one night. Yes he picked on me in HS because he had a massive crush on me and wanted to keep his distance since he had a girlfriend at the time. A year after graduation we hung out, he walked me home and now we have been married 10 years and have 2 little girls.
I think my favorite mistake would be not going to CMU until the following year after I graduated high school. I’ve made some amazing lifelong friends, and I’m so glad I waited. 🙂
i really don’t have a favorite mistake but i absolutely loved this book and would love a signed copy
While visiting Rome, two Vatican horse guards approached my friend and I, wanting to give us a personal tour of the city. My friend and I were sure it would be a mistake and we would regret it if we went with them, but we did it anyway. It was fantastic, they were wonderful, we saw things and did things in Rome we never would have done without those two gorgeous Italians. It’s one of my favorite mistakes.
I don’t know. I was too young and married a guy I shouldn’t have, but we made the most wonderful, beautiful daughter. She’s my best-y and my mini-me, and she inspires me every day. I cant regret the marriage or the divorce because without them, I wouldn’t have her.
My favorite mistake was dancing at prom with the boy who used to lift my desk in English class. It was his sole purpose everyday to get me to squeal!
after reading all these comments, i have to say – i haven’t made my favorite mistake yet, but i think i’m looking forward to it! LOL
A guy worked next door to where I worked and I asked my boss if she knew anything about him and she said the only thing she knew was that he owned the store and had a girlfriend. He always came through to get a soda and we would casually say hello to each other. One day he stopped to talk which he never did before so I thought what do I have to loose?? Is this a mistake? So I told him that I had had a dream about him which was true and he asked me out to my surprise. Well I am happy to report that we have been together ever since. The year was 1990. 🙂
My lady was supposed to be a one night stand, we’ve been through hell and back thus far, but it has been worth every single second!
My favorite mistake: respond to an email of a boy ten year older than me and 500 km from home! And now we are happily married and have a 17 month old boy!
My favorite mistake was turning a one night stand into a 19 year marriage
my favorite mistake was to enter this blog!
[email protected]
I was at a bar with my friends dating a guy who was a total player ( at the time I didn’t care) who was also with his friends doing karaoke. I was hanging out with his friends since he was drunk that night and went home with his friend thinking that he would pass out somewhere. I was very worried the next day when I didn’t hear from the guy but his friend called and asked me out thinking I made a mistake told the guy not to call me because it was disrespectful. Well a couple weeks later his friend called again I said yes and while we were out I caught the guy I was dating in a compromising position 🙂 after that I dated his friend, married him and we have 2 girls together.
I went out jet skiing with a friend b/c her boyfriend at the time had a friend she thought I needed to meet. Now mind you, I had a boyfriend already…I’m sure you see where this is going. We were the last ones to leave the beach. Went on a double ‘date’ with the two that set us up, and I let go of the original boyfriend. 15 years, 2 kids, and a plethora of memories later…I’m happy I made that ‘mistake’!
My favorite mistake was having sex with my roomate and best friend 15 years ago, but we’ve now been happily married for 9 years.
My favorite mistake was hanging out with my friend, when she suggested calling her other friend to hang out with. Which at that time I really disliked. From the night forward till now ( which is 20 1/2 yrs and 4 kids later) I still dislike him in the best possible way 🙂
after reading all these wonderful comments i would have to say i havent experience any favorite mistake yet. but i’m definitely waiting for my HEA.
My favorite mistake would definitely have to be gesturing wildly with my arms at a coffee shop while telling my friend a dramatic story about my awful date the past week when my wild gesturing led me to flinging 2/3 of my boiling hot coffee onto the chest of an innocent man waiting in line at said coffee shop. Racing to him, thinking that for sure, his chest must be breaking out into smoldering blisters, I was a blubbering stammering mess. I was sure the coffee, (which I had conveniently ordered to be extra hot) had caused burns on his skin. But when I got within inches of him, apologizes spewing out of my mouth, he held up one hand to stop me while the other unbuttoned his shirt, revealing a bullet-proof vest underneath. He was a city cop working undercover that day. The vest had kept the burning liquid from making it to his very-broad chest. The morning ended with his offer to take me to lunch a few hours later to calm me down and assure me that no harm was done and that he actually thought the whole thing was funny. His name is Jack and he is currently my fiancee.
My favorite mistake is having a party at my mom’s house right before I turned eighteen. She had enough of my behavior and sent me to live with my father 8 hours away. I met my husband there 4 months later. It’s been 18 years and 3 girls. I dont regret that party at all.
My favorite mistake was remarrying my husband 🙂
My favorite mistake was getting pregnant with my daughter before my husband and I were married. It was unplanned but I am SO glad it happened! She is the light of our life. Thanks for the giveaway!
My favorite mistake was going to a friends house in highschool, when she invited a car full of guys from another school bc she liked one. I couldn’t stand a few of the others, but there was one I seemed to connect with…I’ve been with him since I was 16 yrs old…I’m now 42…so, 18 years of marriage and 3 kids later, he was my favorite mistake!
My favorite mistakes are my two sons Ben and Luke. After trying for 9 years to get pregnant, we were only able to conceive with medical help. Surprise! 20 months later Luke was conceived naturally. Figuring that was a fluke, we still did not use protection. 22 months later, hello Ben!
Lots of little mistakes…no big ones…thank goodness. Been w my husband 26 years yesterday and in a month will have our 17th anniversary…2 wonderful boys too.
In my short life span I have made plenty of mistakes; however, only one mistake stands out in my mind. I wouldn’t call my daughter a mistake ever. She was an unexpected surprise. Being 19 and still in University, she was the best thing I have ever done. She gives reason to my world. Almost 6 years later and I am can never doubt that she was the best mistake ever. I’ll just have to tell her when she’s older, “Your father had plans when he walked into the room” =D (I’ll save that phrase for when she’s a teenager and I’m looking to scar her for life!)
Walking into a mall and coming out with a puppy. Best mistake ever.
Getting a 2nd tattoo with my sis. I swore I never would do more than one but now every time I look down at my wrist I think of her.
My favorite mistake was staying in a relationship that was only suppose to be a few weeks of fun until he entered the U.S. Army. We have been married 29 years. Have 4 awesome children and are still best friends.
My favorite mistake….hmmmm…not sure I want to share ANY of my mistakes with the world! I guess , nope don’t want to share that one either. I have made the mistake of thinking that I would be smarter once I had children and as they grew I would grow too! Well I stand corrected because I really am not any smarter but yes I have grown…….larger!!
BTW this is a great book, read it last year!!
My fav mistake? Dating online =) seven years later and after kissing a bunch of frogs I´m living with my last date, sharing house, dogs, cats and mortgage *happy sigh* Not sure I ever want to try it again. Lots of strange people out there LOL
Thanks for the giveaway & Happy Tuesday!
