Shayla Black – Wicked Lovers Series Reading Order

Brandy emailed me this series recommendation, and all I have to say is, I’m on it!! These look great!

“Shayla Black: I read the Doomsday Brethren and it was a lot like BDB my favorite series by far. But have you read her Wicked Lovers books?!!!!! OMG!!!!   It is nothing paranormal at all but if you are ever in the mood for total HOTNESS!!!! It is a MUST read (sidenote: Brandy goes on to mention some of the “steamier” and more alternative – Dom/sub aspects of the series *blush* and ended off with…) … I would HIGHLY recommend you read if you haven’t. It is in  my top favorite series!!”

and my friend Tina commented on book #5 in this series saying:

“I recently read “Belong to Me” by Shayla Black which is another D/s book where you get the “broken heart love lost, magic of love reunited, can our love be rebuilt while we’re fighting the bad guys?” angst along with a nice storyline of FBI agent/Navy SEAL going undercover to infiltrate an underground “sex slave for sale” ring.   I guess the Shayla Black books are a part of a series, but I felt that this book (#5??) stood just find all on its little own.”

Damn. I’ve been looking for a new series and these look great, but $12.99 for an ebook? I read too much to spend that money on one book and I know I’ll want to read the whole series lol. I’ll wait to see if it goes on sale, I’m cheap :( thanks, though I’ve added it to my TBR list!

I agree that Shayla Black’s ” Wicked Lovers” series is awesome! I have read every one and they are not to be missed! The series has been around awhile and should be available at your local library. I’m not sure if I’m the only one who still goes to the library, but it’s a great way to save money! I read this entire series by borrowing them from the library.

I would also rec. Shayla Black’s “Four Play” written with Maya Banks
as well as “Bound and Determined” and “Strip Search”.
As Maryse mentioned, Shayla Black’s books are alternative and HOT! I hope everyone knows what that means! *winks*

Two more recs. while I’m at it:
Jaci Burton’s “Play by Play” series. ( 3 total )
Perfect Play – Hot football player
Changing the Game – Hot baseball player
Taking the Shot – Hot hockey player ( releases March 2012 )
These are NOT alternative but erotic!

Erin McCarthy’s “Fast Track Series” These books are about race car drivers. The series begins with “Flat out Sexy”. These books are NOT alternative but erotic!
I hope some of you will look into these books! I’m still in my “Fifty” haze and looking around Amazon for the next great read!

Hi, OMG I could go on for days giving recs. Here’s another one.
Lauren Dane’s “Brown Sibling Series”. I know sounds weird but trust me it’s good.
Laid Bare – Erin’s story ( she is a rock chick, lots of tats and spunk and wears her heart on her sleave.)
Coming Undone- Brody’s story ( he is a tattoo artist and alpha god.) My fav.
Inside Out- Ella’s story
Never Enough- Adrian’s Story ( he is a rockstar )
Erin, Brody and Adrian are the “siblings”. Ella is a family friend.
These are erotic books. Super hot!

I’m preparing more reading order lists as we speak (thank you for the recommendations, Stacy!!)

I started Brown sibling #1 and didn’t really get into it, but I keep hearing how Coming Undone is FAB!!! Can I just skip ahead to that one? What do you think? Oh and the rock star intrigues me! I wonder if I can I do that one after?

I did put that reading order guide up awhile ago, since I intended to plow through ‘em: http://www.maryse.net/reading-order-guide/lauren-dane-the-brown-siblings-reading-order-guide.html

For me wicked ties is my FAVORITE I LOVE me some Jack!! Then I would have to say Logan is my next in being to me.

Hi Maryse and everyone who loves Maryse!
Yes, absolutely read Coming Undone without reading the first book. I think enough back story is given that you’ll fall into the story perfectly. This was my favorite of the series! Also the “Play by Play” series is awesome, really! I’ve read alot by Jaci Burton including her “Wild Riders” series. These books are about Harley riding bad boys! She writes super erotic stories!

Also I would rec. ( I told you I could go on for days!! )
Gabriel’s Inferno by Sylvain Reynard (This book just blew me away!)
Omega Mine by Aline Hunter aka J.A Saare ( Paranormal erotic )
Make Me Shiver by Aline Hunter aka J. A. Saare ( Contemp. alternative, erotic.)
These books all got great reviews and I enjoyed them all!
I’m so sorry I’m throwing so much at you, I’ll stop now LOL!!!

Started Coming Undone and all I can say is OMG what did I miss in book #1! Wwhhhhaaaaa? It started off and continued with only two people where I left off… Erin and Todd have some explaining to do. I… Think I’m going back to that book for a bit

It obviously picks up. LOL!

Stacy January 25, 2012 at 11:43 PM

Yes……there is that!!! LOL. It’s very light and tame and written nicely. I think this was my first intro. into that genre and oddly at the end I thought that doesn’t scare me a bit. I’m good!! There is alot of emotion in this book as well with Erin and I thought It was nicely written. I hope you choose to stick with it.

Moving on to Brody. Brody, Brody, Brody, Brody’s just hot!! He’s covered in tats, loves his family fiercely and rides a Harley! Love him! No extra surprises in this one, promise!

P.S. Kele Moon who as you Know wrote “Defying the Odds” (awesome book) wrote two books prior which are in the “genre” mentioned above. They are very, very dark, and edgy and I loved them! Just sayin!

Happy Reading!

Stacy, I agree, I LOVED Gabriel’s Inferno by Sylvain Reynard.

Do we have to read the wicked ties series in order??? I came across the series just by picking a book up at the store, and it ended up being the 5th one…

Bob N Corrigible January 21, 2014 at 3:23 AM

Read the entire Gabriel series and loved it. Totally different than say the Wicked Ties series, but really enjoyed the exploration of emotions and communication. Unlike the Wicked series where it’s more about the physical passion that is Jack. Gabriel is a man who truly takes his time to insure that his lover is cared for and loved. Heck, Gabriel can easily take an entire chapter building up to a passionate kiss. Mmmmm.
