Frenched
Steamy and sweet and everything in between. A great little contemporary romance read that made me smile, gave me a few butterflies and had me feeling that touch of book-angst that I crave so much. And it was soooooo often recommended, so it’s about time I gave it a go!
Ashley: OMG…I just finished Frenched and it was AMAZING!!! Great recommendation from M. Pierce and you, Maryse! Smart, funny, sexy, sweet…this book has it all! Now I just need one to top it!
Lori: I just finished Frenched, I liked it, easy and romantic…Tucker the f**ker, it keeps popping in my head and making me laugh.
Drea: I actually cried during Frenched.
Jaime: You have to read Frenched! It would be so sad to miss out on this gem of a book! It’s pretty much perfect!
Marina: Push Frenched to the top of your list!!!
Nicole: I really enjoyed Frenched! Highly recommend.
Julie: I finished Frenched and loved it! Sweet, sexy, fluffy fun – just what I needed!
Yessssss Julie! Exactly that!
Mind you, there wasn’t anything *crazy* or shocking, or… even uncomfortable in this storyline. Just a jilted girl on her wedding day that takes her honeymoon to Paris alone…
…my Independent Woman positivity had fizzled.
Everywhere I looked I saw couples in love.
F**king everywhere.
is mad at her ex, and her friends and everyone in between…
I was mad at Tucker for jilting me, mad at myself for letting it get to that point, mad at Coco and Erin for making me come here alone, mad at all the couples I’d seen, mad at France, mad at love.
…ends up in a bar needing a drink… badly…
I discovered it was a Canadian sports bar. Pausing a moment to consider, I decided I wasn’t mad at Canada, beavers or sports, so I went in and glanced around.
LOL!!!!! That is the “tone” of this book. Fun right??
And!!! She meets a handsome half American/half French bartender that offers to be her tour guide.
And the chemistry between ’em? *whoooooo* No denying their attraction, the rapidly developing crush, the feelings of elation, and heart-pounding “almosts”. And suddenly she realizes, she’s already getting over her ex-fiance. You know what they say… the best way to get over someone is to get under someone else. <— OH NO I DIDN’T!!!
*blush*
Pure cuteness. And LOTS of steam. Holy moly was there steam. Considering the very sweet touches, and the light and airy feel of the writing and the characters, I was *blink blinking* at the hotness. And her… ummmm… penchant for the F-word. Hey I’m fine with it. You know me ‘n dirty mouths.
And the angst I mentioned? Well you know how it is.
What the hell was I going to do when I had to go home? What if I never had this again?
She’s only there on vacation after all. Long distance relationships rarely work out, and I mean… they’ve only known each other a few days. What could they possibly have once she leaves their Paris cocoon. Would their love-bubble burst?
It feels like the last time. It feels like f**king goodbye.
What if it is? What if it is?
OMG I TOTALLY FEEL HER THERE. That whole seen, that whole thought process was… poignant.
Good stuff.
Well written, good flow, enough of everything to keep me reading and to keep me feeling it, but nothing over the top, which I totally needed. I needed predictable, but entertaining and not too heart wrenching. Just a touch to keep me worried with “her“. And this delivered. Yeah I know… I usually love rip-my-heart-out stories, but sometimes a girl needs the reading path of least resistance every once in awhile. No kidnaps, no darkness, no bad boys, no alpha-males, no shock-value.
And this one hit the spot!
Sweet and sexy and totally something that I could see as a funny Lifetime or Hallmark movie. Er… minus the f-words and sex scenes. *snort*
4 stars!
Glad you got to enjoy this one after being on your list for awhile.. I agree sometimes we need the path of least resistance with f_words. He!He! Don’t forget theireis more of Mia and Lucas in the novella “Yanked”. I enjoyed that one too. And also a 3rd book ‘Forked” in the series.
Oh, I didn’t know about Yanked. If it keeps going the way it has been I know I’ll want to read that. Thanks.
Yay – so glad you enjoyed it. I just read it recently, too, and raved about it in my review.
I sooo needed a light and feelgood read, and you’re right, it absolutely delivers 🙂
Maryse, thank you so much for the lovely review! I’m laughing about the penchant for the F-word and the Hallmark movie edits…so true! And thanks to the readers above for giving a new series a try. I’m so grateful!
You can get the Frenched Series Bundle for the same price as just Frenched.
