Lisa M September 1, 2017 at 6:51 AM

Oops I pressed submit before saying its a great way to start my day seeing the recommendations as I’m ready for a new book!!! Not that I don’t have a ton on my tbr list!!

Ela September 1, 2017 at 6:53 AM

Morning everyone and happy long weekend!

Grey September 1, 2017 at 7:09 AM

September?!? What!!!! I have to go back to work in a couple days. Wahhhh!

Maryse September 1, 2017 at 7:57 AM

Good morning my friends!!! I think I’m getting a cold. *sniff sniff*

Ugh. It all aches in my head and throat. :(

Someone snuggle me please. But Lysol me first. ;)

Maryse September 1, 2017 at 7:58 AM

LOL Lisa! Right there with you. My TBR list is loaded in awesome books I already one-clicked, but then the new shinies come out, and tempt me SO bad!! Or so good. Depending on how you look at it. ;)

R. Renee September 1, 2017 at 8:01 AM

Maryse! Nose spray. I’m no doctor but I’m sure I’ve read about one once! :D Seriously. Nose spray at the first sign of a cold can ward it off. It’s worked for me and everyone I know who’s tried it EVERY SINGLE TIME. I haven’t had a cold in 7 years.

Maryse September 1, 2017 at 8:46 AM

I haven’t had a cold in years either. I was starting to feel superhuman in fact. *sigh* Yes. I have to go buy some…

R. Renee September 1, 2017 at 8:50 AM

My favorite is Vicks Sinex, but I’ve used several different ones and they all seem to do the trick!

Tessa September 1, 2017 at 8:52 AM

*snuggle hugs* No worries. If I get a cold, I don’t notice. I have allergies and well, they feel the same to me unless I get body aches.

That said, Vitamin C or one of those smoothies with the immunity boosters and Mucinex max. Those do wonders!

Tessa September 1, 2017 at 8:57 AM

Oooh, and three of those books up for pre-order I did pre-order! Eye Candy, Intensity, and Tower of Dawn! *squees* And on that day, I’ll be so overwhelmed, I doubt I’ll know what to read first. :D

DID YOU SEE IN THE LAST POST! ROBIN AND I AGREED ON BEST OF THE MONTH! *awaits Armageddon*

And… They have some pumpkin spice stuff out already. Pumpkin Spice Cheerios and even McDonald’s has a Pumpkin Spice coffee already! The pumpkin spice invasion has started. :D

Amy September 1, 2017 at 8:59 AM

*rubs eyes and reaches for coffee*

Good morning everyone. Ugh…4:30 am Amy was ready to jump back in time and kick midnight Amy’s a$$.

*sprays Maryse with Lysol* Alright, snuggle time! Here’s a tissue in case I doze off and drool on you…

Amy September 1, 2017 at 9:02 AM

I’ve never tried nose spray to ward off a cold, but I know I can’t survive one without the stuff.

I’m going to try that though the next time I start feeling a cold coming on!

Grey September 1, 2017 at 9:23 AM

Honestly, the best book I read in August… was Master of My Body by Marissa Honeycutt… even though it was a novella. It was fantastic.

I have to get my August pick for me read, and finish Degradation… which was actually an extra 1 word book, I’d thrown in as a “Tessa” rec, LOL!

Tessa September 1, 2017 at 9:56 AM

How is Degradation so far?

Ela September 1, 2017 at 12:00 PM

I liked Degradation A LOT.

Tessa September 1, 2017 at 12:12 PM

:D Same!

Leslie M September 1, 2017 at 1:04 PM

I don’t know if it works for a cold, but Flonase nasal spray works wonders for my son’s seasonal allergies.

Ela September 1, 2017 at 3:07 PM

Sorry Leslie *snort* I saw the word mayonnaise…

D.G. September 1, 2017 at 3:42 PM

*leans in to give Maryse huggles and snuggles while passing over an oil diffuser with peppermint, eucalyptus and tea tree oils* nothing worse than a cold during heat – hope you feel better soon Maryse! Local honey is a wonder too…a teaspoon a day keeps the allergies away…or something like that.

Just finished the newest K.A.!!!!!!!!! LOVED it!!!!!! The Magdalene series is solid goodness!!!!

Tessa September 1, 2017 at 6:13 PM

*wilts* It’s 108 here. I’m officially in hell.

Jan September 1, 2017 at 6:55 PM

Stay in and stay warm Maryse. Hope your cold doesn’t turn too nasty.

Tessa, that’s HOT!! It’s the start of spring here, but winter’s still hangin’ around and I hear there’s going to be snow in the mountains about 100km from where I live down on the plain. We’ll get the icy blasts down here anyway. *shivers*

Marysye it’s another GREAT LIST of temptations to blow out our tbrs. I’m intrigued by PS From Paris and have downloaded a kindle sample. Apparently this writer is currently one of the most popular writers in the world! And I’ve never even heard of him *crawls back into cave*. His first book was made into the Reese Witherspoon film Just Like Heaven. I’m def gonna check PS From Paris out.

The title of the Savannah Skye book made me laugh. Not my cup of tea, but I know there will be fans out there for it. Each to her own. Enjoy.

Maryse September 1, 2017 at 8:18 PM

I’m all tucked in and reading… and feel miserable but at least I’m too sick and physically unproductive that the only thing I CAN do is read. :) So I’m kind of happy. LOL!

Tessa September 1, 2017 at 8:23 PM

Jan, can we trade? I want chilly winds! Tomorrow is going to be the same. *shakes head* San Francisco broke it’s record heat ever by three degrees. Here we were one degree away from matching the highest. It’s insane.

Ah, Maryse. Whatcha reading? *grins* And I hope you got something to make it a little more bearable.

Robyn September 1, 2017 at 9:42 PM

STOP WHAT YOU ARE DOING.

#KillingSarai, the first book in the #InTheCompanyOfKillers series by J. A. Redmerski, AKA probably the best dark romance series you will EVER read, is FREE RIGHT NOW!!!

If you haven’t read this series yet, now is the time to get book 1!! ➜ http://amzn.to/2vvN3Xc

Tessa September 1, 2017 at 10:39 PM

AMY PICK A BOOK FOR MELINDA! :) She’s all in tears wanting a book.

Melinda September 1, 2017 at 11:00 PM

So sorry your not feeling well Maryse, I’ve actually been off from work for a week and I’m still not better. I have a terrible cough. But for your throat try Apple cider vinegar diluted as a gargle and steam for your cold and cold and flu tabs for the running nose.

I finished reading Ghosted and loved it. Now I’m reading Absinthe and I’m really enjoying it.

But Amy URGENT……. pick for me challenge you’ve forgotten me….. pleeeeeesase.

Amy September 1, 2017 at 11:26 PM

I’ve been super busy today but checking in right now was perfect timing!

I’m sorry, Melinda…I’ll go pick for you right now!! :D

Amy September 1, 2017 at 11:27 PM

*giggle* You guys crack me up…

Melinda September 2, 2017 at 2:01 AM

Thankyou Amy knew you didn’t really forget me. Kisses.

D.G. September 2, 2017 at 7:22 AM

Melinda I second your recommendation of ACV! That stuff is amazing and folks if you don’t stock it in your pantries….go buy a case! It pulls toxins out for sure!!!

Kooloo September 2, 2017 at 11:51 AM

Maryse – Hun sorry you feel so sick. Get some one to get you echinacea but the tincture not the capsules they have been proven in multiple studies to decrease the severity and length of a cold better than Cold-FX. Oh and you should listen to me because I’m a pharmacist. Feel better soon

Maryse September 2, 2017 at 12:09 PM

Thank you guys for all of your cold advice (and some by a pharmacist too!!!) I’m still in bed (haha) but luckily it’s not the flu, so I should be functional soon enough. I hope. ;)

Instead I’ll hang out with you guys, ’cause you’re fun, and I can’t contaminate you.

Maryse September 2, 2017 at 12:11 PM

I actually do have Braggs ACV organic with “the mother” < — hahahah that makes me laugh. ;) I was taking it a few months ago (but not how you’re supposed to – mixed with water or something – I’d drink it straight and then hurt my throat after a few days of doing that. Oops).

However I will pull that stuff out today.

Skye Warren September 2, 2017 at 6:41 PM

Finished the sexy mafia romance Nate by Celia Aaron. Not sure what to read next. Kind of want something different right now – beautiful language, really immersive, serious but not too sad. Went to Books A Million yesterday and flipped open a handful of books but didn’t find anything.

Melinda September 2, 2017 at 7:58 PM

Thankyou DG I swear by it.

Yes Maryse mix with warm/ hot water. Fantastic.
Also in the medical industry. Maybe a Pharmacist.

Maryse September 2, 2017 at 9:42 PM

Skye, have you read Suanne Laqueur’s “Fish Tales” trilogy? OR!!! Her recent “An Exaltation of Larks”? SO GOOD!! I bet you’ll love them.

Maryse September 2, 2017 at 9:43 PM

I *heart* pharmacists!!! Especially right now. ;)

Amy September 2, 2017 at 10:23 PM

*makes note of all the pharmacist recs*

Especially after a sick person coughed on me today. Seriously, I felt spittle on my face. *gag*

bev September 3, 2017 at 4:20 PM

Eww.

*turns around and leaves*

bev September 3, 2017 at 4:23 PM

*Turns back around*

Have to rec To Tell the Truth, Shame the Devil and/or Jellicoe Road to the beautiful, immersive, serious, but not sad description.

I braved Maryse’s germs and Amy’s spit face for this.

Maryse September 3, 2017 at 4:47 PM

LOL!!!!! I’m in the mood for a good thriller. Did I already one-click that one, bev?

I have not survived my germs yet. Still in bed. Since Friday. I’ll be here tomorrow too, I just know it. But I’ve been reading my heart out so I’m not complaining. Well, wait. I am complaining about the cold part. That just sucks. I need to do stuff. But I just don’t wanna. ;)

bev September 3, 2017 at 5:05 PM

Maryse, Stephanie Perkins is releasing a new book this month, There’s Someone Inside Your House. It is a YA with a romance but also horror. Supposedly like one of those old teen slasher films, lol. You don’t really do YA and I don’t really do horror…..so we should totally read it.

Kooloo September 3, 2017 at 5:10 PM

Just finished the Venom Trilogy by the Williams girls. Book 3 was just released and I was lucky to have read them back to back with those brutal “cliffies” !!! Lol
So if you are looking for a dark and dirty mafia romance This Is The One for YOU!!!

Maryse September 3, 2017 at 5:24 PM

I think that sounds perfect bev! Okay let me look it up and add it to the list (and mine). :D

Maryse September 3, 2017 at 5:26 PM

YAY Kooloo! I’ll create a post for that series. :) Thank you for the recommendation!

Maryse September 3, 2017 at 5:28 PM

Oooooooooh bev that sounds SO GOOOOOOOOD! I just looked it up. This may be a gem for me!! YAY!!!

Amy September 3, 2017 at 7:20 PM

My face is clean and sanitized, thank you very much.

I wholeheartedly second Jellicoe Road. It may take a bit to become fully immersed in it (like it did me) but once you do, it is SO worth it.

And that final chapter (epilogue?)…oh, my heart.

Tessa September 3, 2017 at 9:07 PM

*grabs Passion and Venom, the first Venom book* I need a good mafia book. That mood has been hitting me a lot lately, and finding one has been difficult for some reason.
