Today’s list is LOADED in adamant reader recommendations, so maybe… just maybe…  the book-rut is just about over? ;) In fact, Fabi just noticed that we’ve been on a reading roll!

Fabi: Hey guys, it seems like I’ve so many amazing books already this year. I was wondering, is it just me or are we getting some super duper writing published this year?

Agreed Fabi!!! This year, we are hitting a ton of awesomeness, and my TBR list is loaded in what appears to be tons of “tried and true” reads. AND!! I’ll be reviewing the latest fabulousness that is “The Mistake (Off-Campus Book 2)” very shortly. ;) The LOVE for it just keeps coming…

P.S. Let me know if I’m missing any or if you loved any (from this list or elsewhere).

AND a reminder:  for those accessing my blog via their mobile device (phone or tablet) you’ll notice the look of it has changed (for now, that’s the “mobile compatible” version and I’m hoping we can get it close to the usual “look” while still keeping it “mobile friendly”). On a desktop computer/laptop the look of the blog is the usual one.

EBOOK BARGAINS & READER RECOMMENDATIONS (NOTE: bargain priced when I added them, but prices can change on Amazon, so make sure to check before you finalize your order).

  1. The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah <— EPIC READ ALERT!!! This is one I LOVED LIKE CRAZY!! (my 5-star book review), and I paid almost $12 or $13 for it! And guess what??!! It’s on sale right now AND AND!! It’s back on the list ’cause Sally just read it and went nuts (LOL!!!) saying: “FOR THE LOVE OF GOD ladies you MUST read Nightingale by Kristin Hannah!!!! If you loved The Bronze Horseman there is NO WAY you won’t love this book too. If you want an EPIC read TRUST ME this is the book. It’s the book that makes you go back IMMEDIATELY to read that first chapter again when you have finished. I was a blubbering mess at the end… SO good! I am not even going to bother trying to find my next read like I usually do when I finish a book , I KNOW there is just no use……….” Yep!!! AND HERE IS HER BOOK LIST: Kristin Hannah’s Awesome Book List
  2. The Shadows (Black Dagger Brotherhood, Book 13) by J.R. Ward <— J.R. WARD ALERT!! Eeeeep!! her latest release is back on sale!!! Supposedly, it’s gets so crazy that it needed a spoiler forum just so that readers could get it off their chest and “understand” things. WOW!!!
  3. Love, Lust & A Millionaire by Sandi Black <— JUST RELEASED!!! SINGLE FATHER MILLIONAIRE NEEDS A NANNY ALERT!I worked as a waitress in a greasy diner by day and, by night, I performed my music in small clubs around the city and on the streets of New York. That was until a man and his daughter stepped into the diner and changed my life forever. He hired me to be his daughter’s nanny, but I have a feeling he wants more from me…
  4. A Beautiful Kind of Love by Ellie Wade <— BEST FRIENDS SINCE BABIES/SOULMATES ALERT!! TONS of great reviews on this one already!  ”What we have is so rare, one would think our story would be written, our fate sealed. But, unfortunately that’s not how life works. Life offers us many choices that can turn destiny into chance.” Oh… I wonder what that means.
  5. Diamonds (All That Glitters Book 1) by K.A. Linde <—INTENSE ANGST ALERT!!! Bringing it back ’cause Tessa LOVED LOVED LOVED it!!! “I just finished it and it was Sooooo good. The more I read, the better it got. I know it’s taboo, but it wasn’t read like that. The taboo was more of a gut clench, but it wasn’t the main part of the story. So many secrets and intensity, and sadness… So many feels! Yes, CH, but I loved it. I can wait for July if it means more like that. It was just… wow type good….Diamond keeps coming back to my head. *sighs* One of THOSE types of books.
  6. The Rocker Who Holds Me (The Rocker… Book 1) by Terri Anne Browning <— Tessa also recommends this one! “…read the Terri Anne Browning’s The Rocker That Holds Me. That one is a big heart tug. It’s one of my favorites.

Saying: “Eeep, there were so many good books that came out, I missed one I wanted to read, Cold Burn by Jennifer Estep. I have to wait to buy it, but next week, it will be MINE! *grins*” Yep… this does sound good! “It’s not as great as you’d think, living in a tourist town that’s known as “the most magical place in America.” Same boring high school, just twice as many monsters under the bridges and rival Families killing each other for power…

So it’s back. Joanna: “The Beginning of Never is soooooo gooood. Saw it on your list yesterday and finished it this morning! Super angsty and left with a cliffhanger – argh! Seems like it’s going to be the first of a trilogy and by the Amazon blurb of the second book it doesn’t sound like the angst is going to stop soon, but it’s really well written, great characters (leads & secondary) and just really good first love, heart-melting sweetness!

PRE-ORDERS (coming very soon!!)

And for AUDIOBOOK LOVERS :P

Nancy just found out one of her favorites is in audiobook now! The Vixen and the Vet: A Modern Fairytale, Book 1 by Katy Regnery on Amazon. She said:

“The Vixen and the Vet by Katy Regnery is now available in Audible Audio Edition with 50% of the gross proceeds going to UCLA OPERATION MEND. I loved this book when I read it & hubby heard me talk so much with my fellow book buddies, that he decided he would read it & after he read it, said he wanted to make a donation to Operation Mend. So I “helpfully” suggested he buy me the audio edition & they would be contributing. We also contribute monthly to Wounded Warrior (But I don’t get any books out of that).”

Speaking of audiobooks: for those going on a road trip soon, or maybe you’ve got some projects that require both hands this weekend but still allows you to “listen”… check out the free audible trial + 2 free ebooks deal —>

  1. AND! Here’s the fun-tool again! ——> Find out which of YOUR Kindle books are available as AUDIOBOOKS AT A BARGAIN-PRICE! <— This thing is so cool (Amazon calls it “Matchmaker“)! It’s an Amazon feature, that scans your Kindle books and will list all of the ones you have that are also available as an audiobook at a discounted price (not normal audiobook prices). This way, you can switch back and forth, seamlessly between your ebooks and your audiobooks. VERY COOL! (This is the “Whispersync” thingie). :D
  2. Taken by Dee Henderson <— GREAT PRICE on this new release audiobook!!
  3. Total Surrender by Rebecca Zanetti <— Good price for this new release and it’s over 25 hrs worth of listening!
  4. Guardian for Hire by Christine Bell <— sounds like fun, and well priced.
  5. Wife for Hire by Christine Bell <— he needs a fake wife… (pretty good price)
  6. Lethal Consequences by Elisabeth Naughton <— great price and GREAT reviews!!

Maryse, I was just trying to remember the name of the book we were going to buddy read… Knew it was something about an affair and it was being released May 2nd. Yes! Buddy read! I already preordered it! Who’s in????

There are a ton of great looking books on this list!

I haven’t read The Bronze Horseman yet so I am scared to buy The Nightingale. Not sure about the historical books yet, but I guess I need to give them a try before making a decision. I downloaded TBH months ago based on your recommendation and still haven’t read it!

Danielle May 1, 2015 at 3:10 PM

Arghhhhhh! I finished Black Iris by Leah Raeder at 3:00 this morning and since I don’t want to give too much away, all I will say is it is a total mind**** Can I post that? :) Way crazy plot and twists and turns you never see coming!

Maryse May 1, 2015 at 3:32 PM

Danielle!!!! It sounds SO good… that blurb… how she was going to prove that they were right about her. I can only imagine… 8-O

Maryse May 1, 2015 at 3:33 PM

That’s the one, Jean!!! I’m totally in!

bev May 1, 2015 at 3:47 PM

Jean, Lisa Kleypas!!!!

Tessa May 1, 2015 at 3:55 PM

*rubs hands with glee* Yes, affair book tomorrow, or 9:30 tonight, depending on Amazon. I have to scale back to who short story books today, because that takes precedence when it comes through.

Wow. I’m mentioned… a lot. Though, of all those books, The Rocker Who Holds Me has my heart. More than anything, the relationship of Em with the four boys just makes me smile.

Now to go all nutty with the new stuff. Avoiding Commitment… I’m putting it off. I’ll come back to it, but the past present thing finally irritated me too much when a reveal of the past meant, if I’d known about it ahead of time, my gut would have been clutching majorly, rather than me just reading it. But, I’ll be back, since I don’t think all of it is going to be like that. I hope?

Anne May 1, 2015 at 3:58 PM

Intrigued by Never is a Promise and Sincerely, Carter. So many great reads so little time lol!

Anne May 1, 2015 at 4:01 PM

Bev I love Lisa Kleypas! One of my favorite HR authors! Derek Craven is one of my favorite H of all time!

Cheryl May 1, 2015 at 4:37 PM

Just finished The Mistake and my only complaint is that it ended, I wanted more Logan and Grace. Now not sure whether to finish reading The Fall Away series or start something new.

Amy, are we still buddy reading My Time In the Affair?

Cheryl May 1, 2015 at 4:41 PM

Huh, I swear there were no comments when I started writing my comment; obviously started writing and then posted later.

That said, I’m in to buddy read affair book!! ;)

Nancy Parken May 1, 2015 at 5:04 PM

Oh I bought DARKER WATER (Once and Forever) by Lauren Stewart. A standalone contemporary romance inspired by the Frog Prince for 99 cents (was $3.99).http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00N1X6ZDE/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pd_nS_img?_encoding=UTF8&colid=3P9D676W2AUX9&coliid=I1QX8KTHPIFNLE

Cheryl May 1, 2015 at 5:41 PM

The Friend Zone (Game On book 2) by Kristen Callihan, releases May 5. This is about Gray Grayson from The Hook Up (book 1). ;)

Amy May 1, 2015 at 5:59 PM

WOO-HOO!!!!!!! We’re all jumping into the AFFAIR tomorrow!!!!! :D *snicker* That sounds so wrong.

I’m finished with The Mistake (*sigh* LOVED it) and tomorrow is all about the Affair *snort* so I didn’t want to start anything today and now I’m going through withdrawals ’cause I’m. Not. Reading. Anything. GAH!!! And I’m wound up. And bored. Bad combo. Martini time!!

Ooooooh Danielle…mindf%$# is a magic word around here! Black Iris looks GOOD.

Michelle May 1, 2015 at 6:00 PM

Yes totally dropping any current read to start My Time in the Affair tomorrow. Fingers crossed that it lives up to all our anticipation…no pressure ;)

Bev A May 1, 2015 at 6:07 PM

Lani Lynn Vale’s Center Mass released today. Hot Alpha SWAT Guy. All her books are great.

Maryse May 1, 2015 at 6:38 PM

Thank you Bev! I’m adding it! :D

bev May 1, 2015 at 7:47 PM

My Time in the Affair? Nope nope. You ladies are brave.

Dirty Rowdy Thing by Christina Lauren is on sale for 1.99.

MichelleS May 1, 2015 at 8:59 PM

Hey girls!!! I’ve been out of town at a conference and got in zero reading time…. missed my kindle and all of you! So, what did I miss????

What are the highlights since Tuesday? I think you all read and loved the Mistake, right? and what else did I miss?

Tessa May 1, 2015 at 10:18 PM

Diamonds, Rockstars, historicals, (ask Jean about her first sentence. It’s a doozy!), Beginnin of Never and it’s CH, tomorrow we are all having an affair, and the next day, we’ll be pucked… you know. Stuff.

Fabi May 1, 2015 at 10:56 PM

Omg Tessa! That’s hilarious.

End of Days by Susan Ee comes out May 12th. I can’t imagine how it’s going to wrap up. I’m looking forward to spending more time in that world.

Deborah May 1, 2015 at 11:26 PM

Definitely added Sincerely Carter to my tbr……..now I’m goo to start Carter Reed 2………..just cant resist Tijan……shes calling my name;)…….just need something different from the Broken Romeo series and I think The mistake would be to simular…..although that’s next with how everyone is raving about it:)

Tessa May 1, 2015 at 11:27 PM

Me too. That was one of the best recommendations ever. Now, to have an affair. It downloaded and not even 9:30 yet! Yeah weird pacific time confusion!

Tessa May 1, 2015 at 11:32 PM

Tell me about Carter Reed 2 when you’re done. I went in and realized I wasn’t in the right mind set. Which sucks because… Tijan.

Amy May 1, 2015 at 11:48 PM

LOL Tessa!!!! That was perfect!

Deborah, I’m with ya…love Tijan’s books. ;) And definitely give The Mistake a shot. You can be a puck bunny with the rest of us!

Wait, The Affair has already started?!? I gotta go check my library now…

Amy May 1, 2015 at 11:51 PM

It’s there!!!!! :D

bev May 1, 2015 at 11:56 PM

LMAO Tessa. Thanks for that.

Amy, I’m way too scared for that book, but can’t wait to hear what you all think. Totally going to be eavesdropping on your group.;-)
MichelleS, I don’t think any first line is going to beat Jean’s, lol.
Anne, Derek Craven.♡♡

Anne May 2, 2015 at 2:56 AM

Tessa you couldn’t have said it better lol! This week was loaded with awesome reads!

Bev I am scared of the Affair book too. I just don’t like cheating. But I want to know what everyone thinks about it :)
Oh yes Derek Craven. Just saying his name brings a smile to my face. That is one of my most read HR novels ever! And what about Sebastian St.Vincent? Swoon worthy!

Anne May 2, 2015 at 2:59 AM

Deborah you need to read The Mistake! It is nothing like Broken Juliet! Its not angsty like the Romeo series. Its so much fun!

Lisa May 2, 2015 at 4:44 AM

Maryse, I need to vent. I’ve just made a second attempt at reading Emma Chase’s new book Overruled…and again given up because I found Stanton the most repugnant despicable male character ever. He made my skin crawl. And Sophia the ‘friend with benefits’ was just horrible.
I feel like Emma Chase has ruined me for contemporary romance because if misogynistic self centred self serving manwhores are the characters being written for us to fall in love with I think Im done!!!! AND female leads who are every other woman’s worse nightmare don’t give me warm and fuzzies either. I just wanted them both to die.
Someone please pleeease recommend a book for me so I can re-fall in love with a book boy. Im feel a tinsy bit nauseous.

PS: On principle I cant finish this book and I’m pretty sure I’ll give Ms Chase a wide berth in future….she should have stuck with her reformed bad boy Drew.

Michelle May 2, 2015 at 6:12 AM

Got up early to start Affair before errands and it’s good! Sexy, honest, and surprisingly funny – did not want to put it down!

Cheryl May 2, 2015 at 7:53 AM

Tessa that was perfect! Now to start my affair * the book* that is!! ;)

MichelleS May 2, 2015 at 7:53 AM

Which book had Derek Craven in it? Alzheimer’s happening here….. and Sebastian St. Vincent?

Cheryl May 2, 2015 at 7:55 AM

I think I read the Romeo series when they were fanfiction…sounds so familiar?!

bev May 2, 2015 at 9:25 AM

MichelleS, Dreaming of You. I think you read it when Maryse did?
Devil in Winter is Sebastian’s book. It Is 3rd in the Wallflower series. Great series.

Maryse May 2, 2015 at 9:48 AM

Yep Cheryl… fanfiction!

I’m starting the affair this evening… love that Michelle is loving it already!!

Amy May 2, 2015 at 9:53 AM

Anne…when it comes to books, many of our moral compasses go *ppbbbllltt*!!! One of our common phrases around here is “in books…always and only in books.” ;)

I just realized that the author of the Affair is the same one who wrote the Kane series, and those books are good! Okay, back to my book affair…

Amy May 2, 2015 at 10:06 AM

Aw Lisa…I hate it when I get p!ssed at a book like that! Are you against books with reformed manwhores? ‘Cause a bunch of us just finished The Mistake and loved it!

Okay, help ladies! I read this book but can’t remember the title. She works at a daycare/preschool, and a guy who broke her heart (of course ;) ) shows up there with his little girl. It’s sweet and a little emotional but not angsty. I was just thinking about it and thought I would throw it out there as a rec…if I could just remember the name!

Shirley May 2, 2015 at 10:10 AM

Amy, the book is Back To You by Priscilla Glenn. Great book and I love all her books but where has she been? She hasnt released a book in a long time.

bev May 2, 2015 at 10:15 AM

Amy, is it Priscilla Glenn? I know I have it but not read it.

Amy May 2, 2015 at 10:19 AM

Yes Shirley, that’s it! I just checked my Kindle library and apparently I have her other two books as well but just haven’t read them yet. Thank you!! :D

Amy May 2, 2015 at 10:21 AM

Oh Bev, I think you would love Back to You…and yep, it’s by Priscilla Glenn. Read it! ‘Cause, ya know, book peer pressure and all… ;)

bev May 2, 2015 at 10:22 AM

Lisa, I have to admit I still want to read that one, lol. I have been in that position though of not liking any of the characters and not wanting to revisit an author. The Avoiding series is one for me. Though many love it. Then you feel like the only one. * shrug* we all like different ones.
This means we are full of recs, though. If you want to try more contemporary then The Deal, The Hook up and The Mistake are great. Very likable H& h.
If some other sub genre is what you feel like let us know.:-)
Oh, about contemporary one blog I visit one of the ladies is loving the new Gena Showalter. Really want to read it, it sounds good.

Tessa May 2, 2015 at 10:25 AM

Aww. Amy, that sounds so sweet. Also, The Mad Tatter. It’s the hero’s POV, and he’s hard not to adore. Between the main characters and his daughter, it should restore your faith in books.

bev May 2, 2015 at 10:36 AM

Amy, I’ll get to that….some time this year, lol.
Now I kind if want to do something sketchy just so Iran be all, “Sorry my moral compass went ppbblltt” I love that. I wonder if it would of worked when I was a kid or teen?

bev May 2, 2015 at 10:38 AM

Lol, Iran = I can. That’s an odd auto correct.

Tessa May 2, 2015 at 11:35 AM

I’ve got to say, Affair, loving it! I like the heroine and her thoughts make sense. 35% in and I adore the man she’s having the affair with. It’s just super good. I know angst is soon, but geesh, I still adore Tal even if I’m clueless about who he is.

Amy May 2, 2015 at 11:35 AM

It is sweet, Tessa! I have no idea why that one just popped in my head this morning but I had to throw it out there as a rec. Plus it has a hot chiropractor in it and you *know* how they have to manipulate with their hands. ;)

Bev…oh good lord, don’t tell me you want to do something sketchy ’cause I’ll be all over that with ideas!! :P

Amy May 2, 2015 at 11:38 AM

The dedication made my heart clench a little…

“To anybody who has ever felt bad for feeling a way they knew they shouldn’t …”

Tessa May 2, 2015 at 11:58 AM

I thought that was beautifully appropriate. I’m getting close to the angsty part. *starts hopping up and down*

Amy May 2, 2015 at 12:06 PM

*grabs Tessa’s hands and hops up and down*

Wait…I’m not to the angst yet.

Oh well!!!

*squeals and goes back to hopping*

Anne May 2, 2015 at 12:07 PM

Amy I agree! I’ve read tons of books with questionable behaviors and loved them in the end. It seems many of you are liking this book so I think I’ll give it a try :) If it has a HEA though lol

Anne May 2, 2015 at 12:08 PM

Oh and the dedication is beautiful!

Anne May 2, 2015 at 12:11 PM

Lisa I am so sorry you didn’t like Overruled. I loved it! Have you read The Deal or The Mistake? I really enjoyed both! I think you’ll like them :)

MichelleS May 2, 2015 at 12:40 PM

I need to hear Jean’s first line!!! what post is it in? dang it…. I missed everything…

Tessa May 2, 2015 at 12:44 PM

Its under the Tuesday releases. It’s… Interesting. OMG, so many feels right now, and I’m not trusting Tal either. Eep! Also, stuff happens!

*keeps hopping with Amy, but covers her eyes in Eep fashion*

Anne, I can’t promise an HEA. I’m only half way through.

bev May 2, 2015 at 1:09 PM

I love knowing I’ll have an HEA. It’s the journey to it that I enjoy. HOWEVER, there are ladies on here who would have heart attacks if we started giving away the endings, lol.

Michelle May 2, 2015 at 2:17 PM

Haha you guys are making me laugh with your reactions to Affair. I just sat back down to continue. I got to 40% this morning and was dying to get back to it! I can’t believe I’m understanding where she is coming from…her cheating ways are making sense?! And Tal I need to know what is going on with him…sexy and mysterious…watch him end up married or something too!

bev May 2, 2015 at 2:18 PM

Speaking of group reads…..ladies? There is a book coming out in June called Asking for It. I heard positive things about it a month or so ago and then again today from another blog. The title does bother me because of the subject matter. It is by Lilah Pace, this is apparently a pseudonym for a best selling author. Any way does anyone want to give it ago with me? It makes me nervous but ……
Also, it looks like a sequel in Sept. Called Begging for it. So if you look her up maybe skip that blurb to keep spoiler free.

Michelle May 2, 2015 at 2:29 PM

“I was drunk on him. High on him. I wanted to swallow him down, inhale him, inject him. I wanted him to live under my skin and change my DNA. I wanted to live in his air and breathe his passion.”

bev May 2, 2015 at 3:36 PM

http://bookriot.com/2015/05/01/10-bookish-mothers-day-gifts-mom-will-love/

I thought this was kind of a cool list if you have moms who read.

Tessa May 2, 2015 at 3:41 PM

Michelle, my mind went to far more nefarious thoughts. I’m still where I was. (Kid all wanting to actually go outside and play. Imagine!) Is it a spoiler to give a clue what my mind is assuming? *grins*

Michelle May 2, 2015 at 3:44 PM

Omigod her Dad on the phone…awww what an awesomely understanding daddy!

Michelle May 2, 2015 at 3:48 PM

Tessa, I have darker thoughts about what he is hiding too. I still love him though! I actually love them both and they are awesome as a couple. The dialogue is so frank and real too. At 65% and cannot put it down but only have an hour before we are going to dinner so I’m trying to cram as much in!

Tessa May 2, 2015 at 4:01 PM

We are at the same part! Well, me 62% but awww. Love her daddy! I totally agree with you about the two. There’s no hate here, just an urge to hug her.

Amy May 2, 2015 at 4:06 PM

Stupid life stuff getting in the way of my reading!! Finally getting back to the affair now… *rubbing hands together*

Anne May 2, 2015 at 4:10 PM

Bev that list is awesome! I love the book jewelry box!

Anne May 2, 2015 at 4:12 PM

Ok so I am starting The Affair book after reading all your comments. I am kinda excited!

Anne May 2, 2015 at 5:11 PM

I am 14% and wow! Tal is so sexy! So mysterious also! What is he hiding??

Cheryl May 2, 2015 at 5:50 PM

I’m at 28% and I’m not sure what I think so far. I’m drawn to the story but just like the Kane trilogy not totally loving the writing style. I just can’t shake that there is something else underlying their meeting and whatever he does for a living.

Anne May 2, 2015 at 6:01 PM

Cheryl I feel the same about his job and their meeting. Something is not right. But I am loving it and can’t put it down!

Amy May 2, 2015 at 6:37 PM

*hides face in Tessa’s shirt*

*peeks at iPad with one eye*

Eeeeeeppppp!!!!!

*hides face again*

Tessa May 2, 2015 at 8:00 PM

I know! *shields her*

Though, reality had hit again so I’m only at 74%. Oh, 74% is full of Ooooooh!

bev May 2, 2015 at 8:01 PM

Maryse, I do not follow boxing, but Pacquiao because reasons.;-)

Anne May 2, 2015 at 8:14 PM

I am 64% and I love her dad! He rocks! I can’t put this book down! And as hard as it is to admit I understand why she had an affair.

Michelle May 2, 2015 at 8:15 PM

Finished and love loved it! So different and I still can’t get over how it starts out about cheating but that I get her and sympathize even. There’s a couple of WHAT…back up and read again moments and plenty of gushing and girly giggling over Tal…that man is just sexy period. It’s joining my favorites for the year so far…book hangover *sigh*…

Jean May 2, 2015 at 8:21 PM

Yay Michelle! I’m almost done…… I normally avoid any books with cheating, but yeah for some reason this didn’t bother me as much as normal.

Maryse May 2, 2015 at 8:40 PM

LOL!!! I gotta know them reasons bev. ;)

Anne May 2, 2015 at 9:11 PM

Jean I agree! It isn’t bothering me either.

Michelle so happy you loved it! I am almost finished too :)

Anne May 2, 2015 at 10:11 PM

79% and oh the feels!! My poor heart!

Amy May 2, 2015 at 10:32 PM

OMG…my stomach is eating itself right now…

Amy May 2, 2015 at 10:46 PM

*sigh* I’m not getting any further with this affair until after the fight is over. Hubby is so worked up over it and is interrupting me every 30 seconds, LOL! The May-Pac fight, not the affair. ;)

bev May 2, 2015 at 11:03 PM

Maryse, maybe the wink is not the best face, lol.
I really do not know much about them. Just more about how I feel about Mayweather and domestic violence.

bev May 2, 2015 at 11:06 PM

Amy, that would be hilarious if your husband was reading it with you. Jumping up and down with Tessa and you, lol.

Anne May 2, 2015 at 11:10 PM

Finished! I LOVED it! So glad I read it! Seriously I was so nervous about the cheating part but everything worked out perfectly. Tal was so sexy! I kinda fell in love with him a little. Great book!

I think my next read is going to be Sincerely, Carter.

bev May 3, 2015 at 12:14 AM

And it’s Mayweather.

You ladies read so freaking fast, lol.

Tessa May 3, 2015 at 1:56 AM

Stupid real life. Just finished and just happiness. I loved it. All the angst, the eeeps, the ooohs, and even the twist the mystery added. Unless cheating is a trigger, I’d recommend it to everyone. So, so good. Stylo Fantome doesn’t disappoint.

*grins* Bev, happy squee jumping welcomes all.

mica May 3, 2015 at 2:23 AM

Just read ‘Sincerely Carter’, it was so average and a little forgettable, sorry but i am a little disappointed in Whitney Gracia Williams. ‘Reasonable doubt’ is one of my fav series of the last couple years.

I’ve got to read ‘Black iris’ now, i loved ‘unteachable’ by Leah Raeder.

Lisa May 3, 2015 at 4:07 AM

Thank you thank you ….so much for the recommendations. Smash read The Deal and The Mistake and looooved them….great remedy for my Stanton funk (shudder). And I don’t think it was the manwhore element in Overruled that turned me off….probably more the absent father with the attitude that both Jenny and Sophia were his to emotionally abuse (shudder).
About to start Affair with trepidation (am I up to it)….I loved Arsen and that was pretty brutal. We’ll see.

Anne May 3, 2015 at 4:24 AM

Mica I just finished Sincerely, Carter and thought the same thing. I was really excited about this book but is it me or it read a little more as a YA than a NA?

Anne May 3, 2015 at 4:29 AM

Lisa yaay! So happy you liked The Deal and The Mistake! Both books are amazing!

I was a little hesitant to read the affair but it was so amazing! Hope you enjoy it too :)

Lisa May 3, 2015 at 4:44 AM

Bev I loved both the Deal and The Mistake. Really would love to know what you think of Overruled and if you struggle with the cheater (Stanton) and doormats (Jenny and Sophia) as much as I did. So many people have loved it. ???
I adored The Tangled series and hope I can re-visit Emma Chase again one day….but probably not for a while ☺

Cheryl May 3, 2015 at 9:17 AM

Just thinking it’s ironic that I’m reading the affair book today since it’s my anniversary!! Hubby just made me breakfast in bed and had our “first song” playing on the ipod when he brought it in, while I was reading the part where she tells him it’s over. *sigh, confused the poor guy with my tears*

bev May 3, 2015 at 9:30 AM

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!

Ah, sweet husband. Hope you two have a great day.

Amy May 3, 2015 at 9:41 AM

Cheryl…happy anniversary!!!! What a sweet, thoughtful hubby you have!! :D This is probably the only place where we won’t judge you for reading a cheating book on your anniversary, LOL!

Yay Lisa!! The Deal and The Mistake were *both* great, but I think The Deal is still my favorite out of the two. Let us know what you think of the Affair!

Tessa May 3, 2015 at 9:44 AM

Aww. Happy anniversary Cheryl. Your husband sounds like a total sweety.

Jean May 3, 2015 at 9:45 AM

Happy anniversary Cheryl! What a great husband you have!

I agree Amy, The Deal was my fav too.

So what’s everyone reading after the Affair?

Michelle May 3, 2015 at 9:59 AM

Ha that’s funny that you are reading the Affair on your anniversary. Oh well only in books right! Hope you enjoy your day!

I started the second Krinar Chronicles book and so far it is a good change in pace but I’m still stuck on Tal and Mischa…

Amy May 3, 2015 at 10:05 AM

So, the Affair book…I really liked it, except (for me, at least) it didn’t have enough emotional depth to make a mess out of me and pummel my heart. It was intense at times and had some angst (um, the beach and hotel scene in Positano anyone???), and even though it didn’t give me the heart-gut-ovary punch that I love, it was still engrossing enough that I finished it in a day. *sigh* I swear, Arsen ruined me for all other books like it.

But this, THIS made me snort…
“You have the situational awareness of a manatee.” <—— *giggle* Hey now, my little stuffed manatee is very aware of situations and when he is needed! ;)

Amy May 3, 2015 at 10:09 AM

Jean, I’m starting Good by S. Walden…in the mood for some good ol’ forbiddenny teacher-student stuff! :P

*fist bump to Mica* I loved Unteachable too. :D

Tessa May 3, 2015 at 11:17 AM

No, I’m not going to squirrel with all these recs. I will finish More Than Him! It doesn’t help that I normally adore Jay McLean’s stuff, but this is the exception. It’s so slowwwwww! I wish it had ended at book two and I could jump into four, but it didn’t. So I won’t know why book four was written without reading this insanely slow, overly whiney ( seriously, they whine and complain too much) book. Grrr

bev May 3, 2015 at 11:46 AM

Not today, have so many I need to read, but I need to get back to Darynda Jones’ series. She will be at RT on some panels. I wish could go. I’d love to see Texas. Next year is Vegas and honestly that doesn’t appeal to me as much, lol.
Also, need to get back to Kate & Curran. I was enjoying them so. Not sure why didn’t stay with them.

MichelleS May 3, 2015 at 11:51 AM

I remember “Good”, Amy – I liked it!!! Forbidenny for sure.

It has been a crazy week for me. I feel sorry for myself. Boo-hoo. have to catch up on all the goodness.

But for now, I must finish Matrix of Destiny, since I have some time and it is so so good. How will I ever get to all these good books when I can’t wait for Matrix of Destiny #2 (Rejar’s story)? What to do… what to do…..

I need summer to get here already so I can park myself in a lunge chair and just get caught up.

Jean May 3, 2015 at 1:19 PM

I really loved the Affair, but agree with Amy on the emotional depth. Didn’t really feel a connection, but i loved the story as a whole and really loved the Epilogue. And of course Tal was a hot sexy dirty talker…. what’s not to love there?

Anne May 3, 2015 at 1:21 PM

Happy Anniversary Cheryl! Your husband is so sweet!

I think I am going to start Pucked today.

Oh Good by S. Walden sounds interesting! I’ve never read anything by her.

Cheryl May 3, 2015 at 2:31 PM

Thanks for all the anniversary wishes! Yep, he is sweet, was an interesting conversation at lunch, when I discussed the “affair” book I was reading and asked his thoughts on open marriage and affairs. * his face- blink, blink* although was hilarious when being a guy he did ask is this the part where you tell me you are leaving me for another woman? and if so can I at least watch! He was joking…at least I think he was joking!! :)

I think I am going to read Pucked or finish the Fall away series after I finish the affair book.

Anne May 3, 2015 at 3:18 PM

Lol Cheryl! His anwser is so typically male! Love it!

Fabi May 3, 2015 at 8:26 PM

Aww Cheryl happy Anniversary. Sounds like you had a great day. Lol at your hubby’s response at lunch.

Mica, I’ve also heard Sincerely, Carter is a bit juvenile.

I’m still reading Risk because I’ve been out running around instead of reading. I have to say that I have a big ol’ soft spot for those Gentry boys.

mica May 4, 2015 at 1:30 AM

@Anne and Fabi, ‘Sincerely Carter’ did read like a YA book, I was so excited about reading Whitney’s next book but i would only give it 2 out of 5 stars. It just seemed rushed, like she wrote a filler novel between her more erotic books and there was no sharp dialogue like there was in ‘Reasonable doubt’. However, I’m looking forward to her next release. i hope the next book is a little more racy.
