UPDATE!!!! First… Happy birthday to AMY!!!! :D *big squeeeeeezy hug* and we need birthday cake martinis!!!!

<— Ohhh you guys, the reviews are fast and furiously delighted with this one (over 70 reviews and almost ALL of them 5 stars – with just a few 4 stars), and so I’m highlighting it again today, since it’s the major “standout” for this Friday list!!

PLUS! Hollywood Dirt by Alessandra Torre <— I’m going to bring back another major standout right now because I just posted the review, and yes… as you already know, I am ABSOLUTELY SHOUTING IT FROM THE ROOFTOPS!!! I thought I was maybe… you know… taking a mini-breather from sweet contemporary romance, because my psych-thriller adrenaline rushes were totally doing it for me, but this one brought me RIGHT back!! THIS is why I love sweet and funny and witty and angsty romance. So this is my recommendation to you!

P.S. Let me know if I’m missing any or if you loved any (from this list or elsewhere).

EBOOK BARGAINS & READER RECOMMENDATIONS (NOTE: bargain priced when I added them, but prices can change on Amazon, so make sure to check before you finalize your order).

  1. Grayson’s Vow by Mia Sheridan <— JUST RELEASED!!! ONE OF OUR FAVORITE AUTHORS ALERT!! She’s finally struggling but incredibly resourceful, and he’s emotionally withdrawn and struggling to keep things together… “What begins as a temporary business arrangement, soon evolves into more as vivacious, spirited Kira challenges detached, arrogant Grayson to want more from life. To want more for himself. But as their wills clash and fiery passion ignites, they’ll realize that sometimes the past creates walls too difficult to climb, and that lies and deception rarely precede a happily every after.
  2. Tainted Black (A Forbidden Romance) by Shanora Williams <— JUST RELEASED & FORBIDDEN!! Her BEST FRIEND’S FATHER ALERT!! “Tainted Black is a forbidden love-story about a girl who helplessly falls for her best friend’s father. After a tragic accident ends the life of Theo Black’s wife, he turns to the one person he has always found interesting. Chloe Knight, the girl from across the street, his daughter’s best friend, and a person that is considered completely off limits for him.
  3. One That Got Away: Motorcycle Club Romance (Hades’ Spawn Motorcycle Club Series Book 2) by Lexy Timms <— JUST RELEASED BIKER BOOK!Emily saw through the tough-guy façade, his leather jacket and motorcycle. She gave her heart to him. An accident on Luke’s motorcycle brought things to a screeching halt when her parents forbade her to see him again. Neither forgot about the other…
  4. Stupid Love (New Adult Romance) (Stupid in Love Book 3) by Cindy Miles <— JUST RELEASED!!
  5. Out of Time Series Box Set (Books 1-3) (Out Of Time Box Set) by Monique Martin <— THREE BOOK SERIES BUNDLE!
  6. The Five Stages of Falling in Love by Rachel Higginson <—5-stars from me
  7. The Secret Life of Amy Bensen Series by Lisa Renee Jones <— Kantie went crazy for this one!! “Oh my goodness! Can we just talk about how unbelievably great Lisa Renee Jones’ Secret Life of Amy Benson series is?! Am I the only one that is LOVING it so much I don’t want it to end?? Thank goodness I still have book 4!!!!! If you haven’t read it, you should…like NOW!
  8. A Stone in the Sea (Bleeding Stars Book 1) by A.L. Jackson <— ROCK STAR ALERT! And because he needs to “lay low” for awhile he goes to a small town to decompress… “When the mysterious, tattooed stranger begins hanging out at the bar where she works, Shea is quick to recognize he is nothing but trouble, but she’s helpless to the way her body lights up every time his intense grey eyes tangle with hers…
  9. Broken (The Broken Romance Series Box Set) (A Sports Romance) (MMA Romance) by Claire Adams <— The WHOLE series bundled (almost 500 pages of FIGHTER romance!!)
  10. Breathless (The Breathless Romance Series Box Set) (A Sports Romance) (Hockey Romance) by Claire Adams <— This one too!!! The WHOLE series bundled (HOCKEY STAR romance!!)
  11. Gypsy Brothers: The Complete Series by Lili St. Germain <— MUCH LOVED SERIES ALL BUNDLED AT A BARGAIN PRICE!!! Antonella found us this one!! “The Gypsy Brothers series (bundle of all 7 books plus an extra) by Lili St Germain is on sale. I think you guys would love it – revenge, love, drama, all mashed together into one epic hot saga. Highly recommend and at that price it’s a bargain!
  12. Home No More by Leddy Harper <— SHE WAS KIDNAPPED!! ”I wasn’t who I thought I was. No one was. I had been kidnapped when I was young, and everything I had been told was all a lie.”
  13. Only Trick by Jewel E. Ann <— Celeste LOVED it! “I read Only Trick by Jewel E. Ann the other day – I couldn’t put it down. I liked the first half better than the second – the sexual tension was off the charts, and it’s difficult to maintain that, of course, once a couple’s ‘together’, but really, you have to read this one! :)
  14. Lord of The Isles by Debbie Mazzuca <— Michelle recommends this one! “I enjoyed Lord of the Isles last week. Always looking for a good time travel while I wait for the next Outlander book.”
  15. Alex: A Cold Fury Hockey Novel (Carolina Cold Fury Hockey Book 1) by Sawyer Bennett <— Lisa got a kick out of these hot hockey players! “Spent the last few days getting to know Cold Fury Hockey players. Thank you Sawyer Bennett.”
  16. The Here and Now by Anne Brashares <— OMG THIS SOUNDS AMAZING!!! Lisa just found us this one! “Ann Brashares released The Here and Now last year. ‘Follow the rules. Remember what happened. Never fall in love.’ Sounds wonderful…about a girl from another place and time and a boy who can never know her secret.” OH YESSSSS!!! I can’t even pick out the best part of the blurb… the whole darn thing gave me the *jolts* “This is the story of seventeen-year-old Prenna James, who immigrated to New York when she was twelve. Except Prenna didn’t come from a different country. She came from a different time—a future where a mosquito-borne illness has mutated into a pandemic, killing millions and leaving the world in ruins. Prenna and the others who escaped to the present day must follow a strict set of rules: never reveal where they’re from, never interfere with history, and never, ever be intimate with anyone outside their community. Prenna does as she’s told, believing she can help prevent the plague that will one day ravage the earth. But everything changes when Prenna falls for Ethan Jarves. “
  17. The Syrian Virgin: A Young Woman’s Journey From War in Syria to Love in New York (The Syrian Virgin Series Book 1) by Zack Love <— MIGHT MAKE YOU TOSS & TURN ALERT!! Bringing this one back because MichelleS absolutely loved it!! “Julien Morales (the bad boy professor) is TOTALLY doing it for me. He’s complex and wicked and smart….” and then… ”I devoured The Syrian Virgin and am moving on to the second book, which wraps up the story. Totally invested in these characters. Thought about it all day yesterday and tossed and turned last night because of it. I love it when a book does that to me.”
  18. Kissed by Carla Krae <— Anna found us a Wattpad freebie!! “I looove Wattpad, really. Oh, I’m currently reading one of the books mentioned here: “Kissed” by Carla Krae, it’s amazing <3 …”
  19. Strawberries for Dessert (Coda Series Book 4) by Marie Sexton <— M/M ROMANCE ALERT and bev’s favorite of the year! “Strawberries for Dessert. Read it this year and think it would go on my year favorites list.”
  20. The Soul Mate (The Holy Trinity Book 1) by Madeline Sheehan <— And the FREEBIE recommendation of the week is this one! Actually the WHOLE The Holy Trinity Series is GREATLY loved in our group.. in fact I think one of ‘em is rocking back and forth in the corner over there… LOL!!!!

Ela: Trinity and Gerik or Xan from The Holy Trinity Series!!!!!!!!

MichelleS: OMG! Trinity and Xan!!! YES!!! So glad someone else showed them some love.

Amy: MichelleS! Are you just dying for the third book like I am??? And you did read the novella #2.5, didn’t you? I honestly don’t know which team I’m on…Xan has some groveling to do but I still love him, and Gerik won me back over in book 2. *sigh* That little Gerik problem though…no idea how that is going to work itself out.

MichelleS: Amy – yes, dying for book3 – actually asked her on her FB page when it was coming out! I read the Novella – and I am team Xan all the way. The Gerik “problem” took him out of the running for me. I hated Xan early on, but he can call me fata anytime! swoon….

fabi: MichelleS, SOLD!!! squeeee meeee I’m excited about that series. Now I have two I want to read asap. Omg MichelleS and the first one is free. Yeaa me.

Amy: “Squeeeee me”…I like that Fabi!!! New term for us!! :D

Ela: MichelleS and Amy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! TEAM GERIK ALL THE WAY!!!!!! I don’t care about his “little/big” problem!!!!!!!!!!!! HE WILL FIND A WAY TO HIS SOUL MATE DAMMIT!!!!!!!!! FATA XAN CAN GO *spoiler* THE BASTARD! Of course you know who I picture as Xan???? Jason Momoa….*swoon* so I might *pinches fingers* eventually switch BUT ONLY IF GERIK you know YOU KNOW….

Amy: LOL ELA!!!! Gah, the end of book 2 broke my heart. That whole mind link and how she knew what his thoughts were, even when he was…you know…oh, my heart.

Ela: AMY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THE END OF BOOK 2 I HAD HEART PALPITATIONS AND KEPT ROCKING BACK AND FORTH SAYING NO NO NO NON NONOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO JUST NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And if Xan was described with blond dreds then I ignored that description and just automatically pictured Jason *yum*! Now my heart is hurting all over again *gahhhhh* GERIK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Finished Hollywood Dirt and still trying to decide what I am reading next. Grayson’s Vow, or something already on my tbr list. Can’t wait for Every Wrong Reason, Screwed and Dark Wild Night! :)

Jean September 11, 2015 at 12:49 PM

I got the Syrian Virgin, Only Trick, Gypsy Brothers, and really want The Here and Now but $9.99??? Boohoo….i might have to break down and buy it. It sounds so different.

Pia September 11, 2015 at 12:56 PM

Great list….. like always :-) I am trying to behave and have made a deal with myself… I only got to one-click ONE book from tuesdays and fridays list each. My tbr is way too long… I dont always succeed though… *sigh*. However this fridays pick is gonna be Grayson’s Vow
by Mia Sheridan. She is awesome.

By the way Bella Jewel is releasing Jokers Wrath MC Boxed Set on monday. All four books for only 99 cent. What a price….

This MC series is soooo good. It was the first books I read by Bella Jewel and since then I have read all her other books. She is one of my fav authors :-)

Has anyone read Stylo Fantomes new book “Best laid plans”? Its got great reviews and I loved her previous book.

Ela September 11, 2015 at 1:03 PM

*stopped rocking to enjoy new preciousssssssssss* *wails Gerik*

Any who I too can’t wait for those Cheryl :)

Maryse September 11, 2015 at 1:26 PM

LOL!!!!!! You guys make my days, I swear it’s true!!!!! :D :P

Robyn September 11, 2015 at 1:45 PM

OMG!! The SoulMate Books by Madaline Sheehan are the BEST!! Hopefully the next book comes out soon. I’ve been waiting on the edge of my seat for too long.

Pia- just finished Best Laid Plans and it was really good! Leaves a cliffhanger at the end, so Stylo better get a movin! I love a badass heroine and hero. Lots of sexy time scenes too! Hehe

Pia September 11, 2015 at 1:52 PM

Okay Robyn just one-clicked Best Laid Plans. Not happy about the cliffhanger though. Do you know when the next in the series is out?

My self made deal sucks :-)

Tessa September 11, 2015 at 1:56 PM

Pia, Best Laid Plans put me into a major book fog. It was seriously good, though I have to warn it has a bit of a CH. It’s a CH that makes sense, and feels right, but it is still there. It’s not an, “and then they… The End”, but more of a “now we are thinking on what happened, and more to come” type CH.

Maryse, after you posted about the new one from Rachel Higginson, I was trying to figure out where I’ve heard the name. I read a book, YA PNR from her called Breathless Magic (freebie) that was good enough for a five star from me, but never read the rest. So, went to look, and the first four of the series is right now a box series for only 0.99. :D

Maybe if Madeline Sheehan sees the love for the Holy Trinity series, she’ll finish the last book. A girl can hope, right?

Amy September 11, 2015 at 2:21 PM

The Here and Now is 9.99?? You know what, I’m going to splurge a bit and get it because tomorrow’s my birthday and I can CLICK IF I WANT TO!!! :D

I SO want to read Best Laid Plans but the whole CH thing…I know it may not be a major one, but me and CH’s don’t get along so well. :P

Tessa, the rest of the books in that series are GOOD!! Kiran does something to their little dream world at the end of, I believe, book 2 that gave me a nice little kick in my gut. I understood why but it still hurt. Ooh! I even have an indie polish collection inspired by that series!

Amy September 11, 2015 at 2:22 PM

“Maybe if Madeline Sheehan sees the love for the Holy Trinity series, she’ll finish the last book. A girl can hope, right?” <—– I'm hoping right along with ya!!

Maryse September 11, 2015 at 2:26 PM

You guys! She said she expects it to be done early 2016… I saw it on her Facebook page. :)

Ela September 11, 2015 at 2:27 PM

There’s again that “polish”….Polish or polish???

Maryse September 11, 2015 at 2:30 PM

Here it is (on her latest Facebook post):

Claudi: When will the final book be published?

Madeline: Claudi, I’m going to tentatively say early 2016 but who knows, it could be sooner. I’ll have a more definitive answer after Undeserving releases. xx

Maryse September 11, 2015 at 2:34 PM

Happy birthday AMY!!!!! *happy dance twirls*

Time to make martinis, and some I promise I won’t swipe!!! :P

I updated the post up there. ;)

Ela September 11, 2015 at 2:38 PM

I’m really curious about My Name is Memory but darn 11.99????

Ela September 11, 2015 at 2:41 PM

I saw that too Maryse, “but who knows” worries me “it could be sooner” gives me hope.

Tessa September 11, 2015 at 2:45 PM

Happy pre- Birthday Amy! *throws confetti* Extra happy book finds your way! Oh, and extra birthday goody, only less than a year until the end of the trilogy! *spins*

The series is that good. I swear, I saw I put five stars, so knew it gutted me good or made me so happy I could just dance, but darn if I could remember it properly. However, 99 cents made me buy it so I can remember it and read more.

Oh! I got my niece to read Glass Throne. The niece who doesn’t read books is willing to read it. We’ll see if she likes it though.

Cheryl September 11, 2015 at 3:12 PM

HAPPY BIRTHDAY WEEKEND Amy! Hope you have lots of Birthday cake martinis and gut- wrenching BBF moments!!!!! :)

Grey September 11, 2015 at 3:43 PM

So excited for the weekend!

Really going to start The Lost today!

Michelle September 11, 2015 at 4:03 PM

Ok finished The Soulmate already…devoured that crazy world right up! I mean seriously…not zombies right??…confused about that? Loved Gerik, then loved Xan more, mad at Gerik, then mad at Xan and back and forth equaling a serious case of whiplash! And…and then Gerik ends up as a ____! What is happening, it’s madness…but addicting! Gah starting book 2!

Btw Happy Birthday Amy!!! You can definitely click if you want to on your birthday, it’s a rule :D

fabi September 11, 2015 at 4:27 PM

Yeah, can you believe Gerik at the end of that book Michelle?! Sheesh! I’m a Xan girl all the way.

AMY!!!!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY WEEKEND! Wishing you lots of 5 star books, loads of new makeup, and a barrell full of new nail polish. (stay off the **** heels so you can safely drink this weekend) ;-)

Ela September 11, 2015 at 6:07 PM

My poor misunderstood and troubled Gerik! It seems I’m the only one rooting for HIM.

Tessa September 11, 2015 at 6:38 PM

Ela, this is sad, but I don’t even remember who I was rooting for. Though, knowing e I’d probably go with Xan if he’s the “bad boy” type.

Jaime September 11, 2015 at 7:54 PM

I devoured Grayson’s Vow in one sitting last night. I was so tired but could not put it down! Now I’m sad because I read it too fast and I want more! It had just the right amount of humor, angst, romance, and drama. I loved Grayson but I loved Kira just as much. definitely a must read!

Jean September 11, 2015 at 8:15 PM

AMY, HAPPY BIRTHDAY GIRL! Hope you have a fabulous weekend! What are you reading?

Hey, all this talk about Gerik and Xan is making me want to find out about them and who I would pick.

Jamie, great to hear that about GV…..starting that one next!

bev September 11, 2015 at 8:16 PM

I hope it is a completely joyous one!

bev September 11, 2015 at 8:21 PM

Maryse, yes Sherlock came out just a few years ago on the BBC. Only 3 seasons out & only 3 eps per season. So not a huge time commitment. Though I’d watch 3x as many. And totally different than The Princess Bride, lol.

bev September 11, 2015 at 8:24 PM

Oh, and, um, did you see Lauren said she was, “pining for Simon and Meg” ? Pining.
But you do have to read a sucky book first. Or, maybe re watch Princess Bride.
*shakes head in bewilderment* ;-)

Amy September 11, 2015 at 8:29 PM

*gasp* You put my birthday at the top of the post? Oh wow, I feel so special!! *big squeezy hug right back*

Thank you so much for all of the birthday wishes and five-star read wishes and makeup wishes and gut-wrenching BBF wishes and polish wishes!!!! (By the way, Ela…that’s polish as in nail polish. ;) ) I really do love you guys. Birthday cake martinis with candy sprinkles for everyone!! :D

And what an announcement to get the day before my birthday…we get to find out soon what will become of Trin and Xan and Gerik! YAY US!!!

Amy September 11, 2015 at 8:44 PM

Jean…what am I reading? Hmmmm…I would say Sweet Dreams still buuuuutttt I’m thinking I may have to start something else and read both at the same time. *snort* That usually doesn’t end well for me so we’ll see how it goes. And yes, you definitely SHOULD read the Holy Trinity series!

And did you see Michelle’s reaction?!? She’s getting whiplash from dealing with Xan and Gerik (again…oh, my heart Gerik). I swear, I’m so torn between those two…

So let’s see, I’ve read it and so have MichelleS, Tessa, Fabi, Robyn, Ela…I could swear there are more who have. Bev? Cheryl? Who am I missing? And now Michelle and Niki are reading it!! Come on girls, We have to get everyone to try it out. ‘Cause I feel like being a book bully. With all love and affection, of course. ;)

bev September 11, 2015 at 8:46 PM

Ok. I have to ask. Lol. Ela did you think Amy had a collection of Polish people? And would indie be like hipster? Amy, has collected hipster Polish men that remind her of characters in a book. With man buns.
Oh, I wish that was true. Lol.
But her Rambo might get jealous and we need to keep him around in case of zombies.

Ela September 11, 2015 at 9:08 PM

Omg! Lmao! Rofl! I just assumed Amy read a collection by Polish Indie Authors ya know??? The nail polish didn’t make sense to me in her context so I had to ask lol! I was curious of these Polish authors, ya know! I thought maybe we can bond over pierogi or golabki?

And maybe Amy was collecting Polish eye candy???

Ela September 11, 2015 at 9:15 PM

Michelle, Amy, and Tessa, look into the pretty hypnotizing thingy I’m waiving back and forth and repeat “I’m team Gerik, Gerik is the only one” *snaps fingers* Yay now you ladies are sure of your teams :)

Tessa September 11, 2015 at 9:17 PM

I think Amy likes her eye candy Mexican. :P

I’m so disappointed with The End Game. I wish it hadn’t gone where it did because I was full-hearted committed to them, Then it changed, the tone changed, a lot changed and I just wish it hadn’t. *sighs* It went from potential five star to maybe three.

Amy September 11, 2015 at 9:20 PM

LOL Bev!! Your post got a snort-snicker and then a cackle out of me!

Collecting Polish eye candy…hmmmm, doesn’t sound so bad. ;)

fabi September 11, 2015 at 9:23 PM

I can’t collect any kind of candy. I have too much of a sweet tooth. I eat it as soon as I get it. (yes, pun intended – lol)

MichelleS September 11, 2015 at 9:24 PM

How can you NOT be team Xan after having read the first two plus the novella? Huh? How can you resist all that is Xan? Come on fata!!! And I was so very much team Gerik early on. The big lumbering blonde oaf pissed me off, then, well you know what happened, and I was so dumbfounded by that whole thing that I went back to Xan.

Michelle – is it not the craziest book ever? you haven’t run across the zombies yet? just you wait – they’re coming.

Makes me want to reread it.

Amy September 11, 2015 at 9:28 PM

*whooping* Mexican man candy!!!

Elllllaaaa…I never said I wasn’t Team Gerik! He was a jerk through so much of book 1 but then book 2 was a whole different situation so he was redeemed and I was team Gerik but he’s still…well, you know what he is. And then Xan was my pick through book 1 but then I was disappointed in his actions in book 2 but he *wasn’t* aware of the info that other jerkface kept from him so I can kinda see why he would do that but STILL!!! *sigh* See why I’m torn? :?

Amy September 11, 2015 at 9:32 PM

OMG FABI!!!!! LOL!!!

MichelleS…I was just thinking earlier that I might do a re-read (which I *rarely* do) because I know I’ve forgotten some things, and all of this HT talk has me wanting to re-visit them. And yep, the blonde oaf p!ssed me off too but then the stuff in book 2 happened and…ugh! Why y’all making me choose??

Anne September 11, 2015 at 9:42 PM

HAPPY BIRTHDAY AMY!! Wishing you a day full of love, laughter and great reads! Big hugs!

I haven’t been able to read anything since I finished HD. I’ve been so busy this week that when I get home I just want to sleep. But the weekend is here which means time to read Grayson’s Vow. Yaay!

Tainted Black sounds good! Just read the blurb and it says she’s 19 and he’s 39, so its all legal lol. But it seems there’s no HEA :/

Tessa are we still BR The Affiliate?

Michelle September 11, 2015 at 9:46 PM

Finished My Soul to Take…I mean I would not be able to sleep so I powered through. Ela, ummm there is no team ‘Gerik’…just saying that can’t happen with Mister King of the World now right?

MichelleS, I was saying I thought they weren’t zombies in the technical sense correct? Don’t want to spoil it but they are something else. Anyway, I’m NOT torn and it’s Xan all the way for me! He really is a lethal combo for me: bad boy, underdog, misunderstood, part Native American; which all results in massive ovary explosion for me :D

MichelleS September 11, 2015 at 9:53 PM

“which all results in massive ovary explosion for me” – WOOP WOOP!
So glad you are liking it. MUST read the novella. Seriously.

Team Xan – Kade – Ranger….. now, let’s add one more… in fever series, for Dani, who are you picking? We’ll see how well our tastes line up. So far we are 3 for 3.

Michelle September 11, 2015 at 9:54 PM

Hollywood Dirt is next I think to change it up and I can’t resist after reading Maryse’s review. I want to read Best Laid Plans too – I love everything she writes!

MichelleS September 11, 2015 at 9:55 PM

I’m reading Hollywood Dirt right now too, Michelle.

bev September 11, 2015 at 9:55 PM

Seriously how’d we end up in candy land? And Fabi! =-O
Peroigi, yum. The other I had to look up, but looks good.

bev September 11, 2015 at 9:57 PM

MichelleS, if you say a certain name, totally going to kick him.

Michelle September 11, 2015 at 10:05 PM

Welllllll I really am not as invested in Dani and all that ick factor and blah blah blah…fill in the blanks disaster of a plot twist but if I had to pick – Christian.

Erica September 11, 2015 at 10:12 PM

The Broken Series Boxed Set is free right now for anyone who has Kindle Unlimited. :)

fabi September 11, 2015 at 10:19 PM

bev September 11, 2015 at 10:21 PM

No, not Christian. Not for Dani.
Course that other girl don’t care about. Pft.

Michelle September 11, 2015 at 10:24 PM

I think they are all not great choices as presented right now in the story but Ryodan grosses me out too much. We could always throw Dancer in the running too *shrugs*

fabi September 11, 2015 at 10:26 PM

Dancer needs an older woman. He is sooo mature.

fabi September 11, 2015 at 10:27 PM

BTW, I haven’t read the unmentionable one. Waiting for the next one to read both at once.

Michelle September 11, 2015 at 10:33 PM

Lalalala *hands over ears* can’t wait for book 7!

bev September 11, 2015 at 10:33 PM

Oooh, Fabi. Do you got a crush on Dancer?

See I liked Ryo but I thought the books, Dani , books would be on going and span years. Would of been so cool. Thought there would be maybe a bit of a jump with all the magic but……,now. *sigh*

bev September 11, 2015 at 10:34 PM

Book 7 blurb does NOT look promising.

bev September 11, 2015 at 10:38 PM

Oh, Amy to toast your bday.
Is this the actual date of your bday?

fabi September 11, 2015 at 10:42 PM

Umm, no. Didn’t I say Christian for Dani? He neeeeeds her.

Tessa September 11, 2015 at 10:46 PM

*ducks behind a rock first* Um, as the only person who liked Burned, I’ve got more extreme thoughts. Sadly, I can’t say them without spoilers, but I really did like it.

Niki September 12, 2015 at 1:23 AM

Tessa, I loved Burned as well so you are not alone!!! Back to Holy Trinity!!!

Lisa September 12, 2015 at 3:52 AM

Cant wait for Dark Wild Nights, Screwed and Every Wrong Reason….all pre ordered.
On to Greyson’s Vow while I wait for them. Thanks for another awesome list Maryse xx

Lisa September 12, 2015 at 6:21 AM

Drowning to Breathe the follow up to Stone in the Sea by A.L. Jackson is released on September 15th.
The first book was wonderful.

Marit September 12, 2015 at 7:22 AM

HAPPY BIRTHDAY AMY!!! :D I hope you’re treated like a princess today ;) ❤️

I’m currently reading Tyrant by T.M Frazier. (Book two in the King series). OMG, I loooooove it :)

MichelleS September 12, 2015 at 7:30 AM

**** big happy grin **** I pick Christian too, Michelle. He’s a MacKeltar. I mean, DUH! I’d pick any MacKeltar, any day. Just so I could spend my free time and every holiday with that bunch, and maybe see Adam Black while I’m there among that hotness. Is there a more hot bunch of men in books? Nope. Not hotter than the MacKeltars. Now, Bev, are you going to kick me or what?

Ela September 12, 2015 at 8:12 AM

The Michelle’s you suck *sticks out tongue* it’s magic so anything can happen! Gerik can “come back”! Whatevs I’ll have him all to myself and share with Amy once she decides.

MichelleS September 12, 2015 at 8:40 AM

So I just met Brad DeLuca, and I am thinking this sounds so familiar – so I check my Kindle, and sure enough in Oct 21012 I read Blindfolded Innocence. HA! What a small world. Okay…. back to it….

MichelleS September 12, 2015 at 8:42 AM

Happy Birthday Amy!!!! Hope you get to have your cake and eat it to – and martinis galore. Big hug!!

Jean September 12, 2015 at 8:53 AM

Just finished Cocky Bastard and I loved, loved, loved it!

bev September 12, 2015 at 9:20 AM

Lol. MichelleS, I’d never kick you, just V’lane or whatever his name was.
Hey, has anyone read the Araneae series by Hailey Edwards?

Tessa September 12, 2015 at 10:40 AM

Happy Birthday Amy! Don’t forget these today!

I decided to finish The Consequence of Loving Colton by Rachel VanDyken. Hilarious. Anyone wants funny, this book works perfectly!

Yeah, Niki! I’m not alone anymore! Someone else liked the Book That Shall Not Be Named.

Tessa September 12, 2015 at 10:41 AM

Bev, I liked V’lane being in the story. Even evil, he was interesting. He lost his sexy edge, but still interesting.

Niki September 12, 2015 at 12:55 PM

Happy Birthday Amy!!!

I think I would choose Christian for Dani as well!! I did not really like Iced and missed Mac and Barrons so Burned was a win for me :)

Finished the first book of holy trinity and am thinking to myself what just happened??!?!?! Loved it!!! Now I’m reading Tainted Black and its good so far!

bev September 12, 2015 at 1:22 PM

This is, I think, gets so interesting. The difference in opinions and how we experience a book. I REALLY enjoyed Dani’s story. I didn’t think I would, but I thought it fresh & fun. And I was super excited for her arc.
Then here come M&B, whom I loved, and it felt like she moved them back to square one. And not in a very organic way.

Michelle September 12, 2015 at 2:40 PM

Yeyyy 4/4 MichelleS! Great minds think alike :D I’m loving Hollywood Dirt too – did you finish?

Exactly Fabi, he does NEED her and Ryodan again is icky and pervy and just NO! Plus poor Christian right, come on he needs a break.

Ela, hehe have fun with ‘Gerik’ – hope you do not get crushed ;)

bev September 12, 2015 at 3:01 PM

Ryodan is not icky!!

V’lane is icky.
Deuce is icky.
Lahn, c’Mon, icky.

bev September 12, 2015 at 3:03 PM

Do you all remember what happened to Christian’s guest. The one he tried to hide from Dani……that was icky. And funny in a dark dark way.

Grey September 12, 2015 at 3:25 PM

Happy Birthday Amy!!!!

OMG, Fabi… The Lost, I stayed up for way too long reading last night. Just home from a football tournament…and getting ready to dive back in. It’s… intense!

Grey September 12, 2015 at 3:25 PM

I DNF Burned… which is crazy because I loved the heck out of the first fever books. :( Barrons… just Barrons… gah, I love that man!

Fabi September 12, 2015 at 3:41 PM

Thanks for the feedback Grey. I agree, it’s intense. It’s unlike other dark reads I’ve read. It seems more real in many ways, while others were obviously fantasy. I don’t know. I’m having the hardest time describing this book.

Michelle September 12, 2015 at 4:30 PM

*humph* Ryodan is sooooo icky. Wait…whattttt Lahn is NOT icky…I just stroked out!

bev September 12, 2015 at 4:49 PM

Michelle, how they met???
No no no!

Grey September 12, 2015 at 5:13 PM

Just finished The Lost…. Wow.

How to write a review on this one is hard. Intense. Real. Gripping, raw, painful. Very well written… Just… Wow. His trigger earnings were on point, points of this book were dark enough that even with a flashlight I couldn’t see in front of me. Detailed , explicit… Evocative, this is not a passive read. You will *feel* if/when you read this book. 4.5 stars from me… I think the only thing keeping it from a 5 is the fact that I want to know more… After the story officially ends, there’s loose ends that I just want to know about…

Not sure where I’m going from here… Hollywood Dirt possibly… Or Wet… Maybe Cocky Bastard…

fabi September 12, 2015 at 5:26 PM

Awww Grey. Glad you liked it. There will be sequels, so I’m sure we’ll learn more about the characters.

I haven’t started anything new since I finished it although I have 3-4 beating down my door.

Has anyone read Sloth? I think I remember it from a recent blog post here.

Maryse September 12, 2015 at 5:29 PM

Happy birthday AMY!!!!! :D For real but the WHOLE WEEKEND is your birthday if you ask me!! :)

Grey September 12, 2015 at 5:44 PM

Yes Fabi, I read Sloth, it was a 5 for me.

Anne September 12, 2015 at 5:46 PM

I am 65% in Grayson’s Vow and loving it!! Mia’s books never disappoint.

fabi September 12, 2015 at 5:56 PM

Thanks Grey, now I have even more books I want to start NEXT. Lol, and here I sit, working my Saturday away. Ugh.

Grey September 12, 2015 at 5:58 PM

I feel your pain Fabi… I worked too much this past week and its football season, so my weekends are full too…but not tonight. Tonight, I need to spin a randomizer or something and pick my next book because I’m super indecisive.

Cheryl September 12, 2015 at 6:47 PM

What book is it I am supposed to have read?

I haven’t read Iced or Burned yet. I think I’m waiting for the next book. Started Iced but just wasn’t in a Dani frame of mind.

Fabi September 12, 2015 at 8:38 PM

All I hear are crickets.

No…really…I’m out on my back patio and all I hear are crickets. :-)

Lisa September 12, 2015 at 9:24 PM

I’m 45% into Greyson View and loving it.
Loving that its a similar premise to Hollywood Dirt of enemies to frenemies to gagging for each other……but done totally differently with a completely different feel between H/h.

bev September 12, 2015 at 9:32 PM

Whatcha want to talk about Fabi?

Tessa September 12, 2015 at 9:56 PM

Let’s talk about… stuff. Specifically the second Garfield movie. That was torturous. I’d recommend not watching it.

That said, I need a book to read that isn’t an arc. I finished the arc I had to read and I don’t know what to think. So I need gooooood.

Jean September 12, 2015 at 10:09 PM

50% into Grayson’s Vow and I’m loving it too! Kira is fiesty, sassy and sarcastic…..i love it!

fabi September 12, 2015 at 10:17 PM

Jean you’ve hit book jackpot it seems. Or maybe you’re just especially happy because you’re on vacation. :-)

Bev, nothing really. :-)

bev September 12, 2015 at 10:20 PM
bev September 12, 2015 at 10:38 PM
fabi September 12, 2015 at 10:55 PM

And I thought I was the one who’d been drinking. Lol…I’m off to read for a bit and then lights out for me. 11pm on a Saturday night. Such an exciting life. :-/

Tessa September 12, 2015 at 11:24 PM

rofl NKOTB. I had the BIGGEST crush on Jordan. Dark hair, pretty face, olive skin. Yep, total crush. Never got so crazy as to have the doll and sheets or whatnots, but I had the posters of him!

Bonnie Raitt, that song is a classic. I love that song, though honestly overplayed. Still randomly like that, it makes me smile.

bev September 13, 2015 at 12:25 AM

Tessa, Jordan for me too.
And I had a tape not the dolls or sheets, lol.

Nope, not drinking Fabi. Just me amusing myself, lol.

Anne September 13, 2015 at 12:39 AM

Just finished watching Love,Rosie and loved it!! So romantic! I want a guy like Alex.

Now off to finish reading GV :D

Tessa September 13, 2015 at 1:00 AM

Never heard of Love, Rosie. Movie or tv show?

Bev, I had the tape. And a Tiger Beat Picture of him on my doorway wall with FAQ *grins* It was for that happy sigh when I first walked into my room.

Michelle September 13, 2015 at 11:29 AM

I’m laughing, squeeing and really enjoying Hollywood Dirt! Ughh that scene right after the 50% mark…sooooooooo hot! And the pacing is perfect and unique from the same ol’ formula I’ve been seeing. Glad I grabbed this one since for me, the author is hit or miss. This book will probably end up as my favorite from her.

Michelle September 13, 2015 at 11:30 AM

Oh and Bev, I’m still recovering from you calling Lahn icky…oh my heart!

Tessa September 13, 2015 at 12:46 PM

Michelle, please recommend a book. I’ve over a thousand books currently and nothing sounds interesting!

Michelle September 13, 2015 at 4:13 PM

Oh hold on Tessa I have to think and you’ve read most of the ones I have…

Michelle September 13, 2015 at 4:13 PM

Anything or some kind of direction?

Michelle September 13, 2015 at 4:15 PM

Ohhhh nevermind! The perfect unslump you book is Red Rising and GO! Seriously amaaazzzinnggg!

Michelle September 13, 2015 at 4:17 PM

Or you could read Afterlife with me :D I have 8% of Hollywood Dirt left which is also really good and I’m going to see about this Draven character.

Tessa September 13, 2015 at 5:03 PM

Afterlife with you. I’ve read about 5%, if that, from the prior KU grabs. I kept grabbing it when in a slump. lol

Tessa September 13, 2015 at 5:05 PM

Hollywood Dirt is awesome, huh? I think between the good books and the arc of a story I just didn’t like, I got into ugh mode. And End Game really messed with my head. Half, 5 stars awesome. Other half, maybe two stars?

Michelle September 13, 2015 at 5:42 PM

Finished and just loved Hollywood Dirt – refreshing, funny, sexy! Ok Afterlife it is. You totally skipped right over Red Rising though :( When you do read it, you’ll kick yourself for waiting so long :P That’s rough with End Game – I hate when books have so much potential and it goes downhill fast. Another series that I LOVR and has a new book out is the Elise Sandburg series by Anne Frasier and it’s KU too.

bev September 13, 2015 at 6:43 PM

Hey, Tessa. I think Maryse should read that Coach book. Then do FCH & WIR.
*points to Maryse’s fb feed.*

Tessa September 13, 2015 at 7:18 PM

Never heard of the Elise Sandburg series. I’ll check it out.

I will get to Red Rising. It literally is the one book I have to return right away to the library. I have so many books from there right now, I want to make a dent first, and this meh thingy is NOT helping. Let’s be honest. I want to read The Affiliate, but I have to wait until Tuesday when it’s released.

Bev, Coach book?

Michelle September 13, 2015 at 7:38 PM

Yes check out the Sandburg series – the writing and story are fantastic! Red Rising is another one of my favorite books and I’ve read nothing that compares to it – highly recommend! I want to read The Affiliate too but probably won’t get to it next week. Afterlife is a lot of book! I’m reading along at a good clip and have not made much of a dent yet.

bev September 13, 2015 at 8:06 PM

Tessa, it is highlighted in her Facebook feed.

Just listening to the Scandalicious podcast and it is making me want to work a re-read of The Madness of Lord Ian Mackenzie in. Was a great book.

Tessa September 13, 2015 at 9:06 PM

The dystopian one? That’s all I see. :/

I’m still at 5%! I’m just having troubles getting into it. Also, busy, but I had an hour of free time, and read two pages. It is starting to pick up though!

bev September 13, 2015 at 9:15 PM

Lol, no, never mind. :-D

Tessa September 13, 2015 at 9:19 PM

I found the Coach book! I want to read it based on the warning too. lol

bev September 13, 2015 at 9:53 PM

It has buddy read written all over it.

Anne September 13, 2015 at 9:56 PM

Tessa what Coach book? I am curious!

Finished Grayson’s Vow and loved it!! Highly recommend it!

Anne September 13, 2015 at 9:58 PM

Bev I loved TMoLIM too! I need to re-read it soon!

Tessa September 13, 2015 at 10:01 PM
bev September 13, 2015 at 10:14 PM

The madness of Lord Ian Mackenzie.
Great read.

bev September 13, 2015 at 10:15 PM

That cover! Lol.

Tessa September 13, 2015 at 10:30 PM

The author doesn’t take it seriously, which makes me think it’s going to be pure fun.

Lisa September 13, 2015 at 10:46 PM

Anne I too just finished Greyson’s Vow and loved it. Im a bit curious about Coach too…although the cover is not doing it for me!!! *snickers* Manscaping plueeeze!

Anne September 13, 2015 at 10:46 PM

Oh Coach looks so good!! It looks like a fun, sexy read. And its only 0.99 :D

Anne September 13, 2015 at 10:47 PM

Lisa so happy you loved Grayson’s Vow too. Mia’s books are always 5 star reads for me.

Jean September 14, 2015 at 8:04 AM

Finished Grayson’s Vow yesterday too and loved it! Mia’s books are an automatic 1-click for me!

Thanks for pointing Coach out bev and Tessa….looks good!

Fabi September 14, 2015 at 9:31 AM

Has anyone read The 5th Wave by Rick Yancey? Tessa, Michelle? Asking because the the movie is coming out in January. I read it years ago and still somewhat remember it. The sequel still sits in my tbr waiting its turn. :-(

Ela September 14, 2015 at 11:37 AM

I need a PNR recommendation, no YA please. I was thinking of doing the Ilona Andrews, Kate Andrews series….Tessa???? Or the Tairen Soul series???? Or Afterlife Saga????? Or something different????

Ela September 14, 2015 at 11:39 AM

I’m quickly going to read Coach first….since it’s so short as Jean pointed it out…will bring me closer to my goal :)

Jean September 14, 2015 at 12:14 PM

I’m going to read Coach real quick right now too Ela…..since the boss is out! Haha!

My last 3 reads were all 5 stars….Hollywood Dirt, Cocky Bastard, and Grayson’s Vow.

Jean September 14, 2015 at 12:15 PM

Don’t really love the cover of Coach (looks like a hairy ape), but the premise sounds good!

Tessa September 14, 2015 at 12:24 PM

Tairen Soul or Kate Daniels. OMG, the choice. Tairen Soul is fantasy, and Kate Daniels is PNR. Both seriously good. Okay, then, do you want other world fantasy (TS) or Urban (KD)? Hope that helps.

Grey September 14, 2015 at 12:28 PM

Cocky Bastard, omg… Making me laugh so hard I cry!

Ela September 14, 2015 at 12:29 PM

Um…..what is the difference between fantasy and PNR??? Thought both are one and the same???? NO??? Guess not…..

Jean!!!!!!!!!!! I started Coach and damn….TOTAL SMUT….SO I’M READING IT FOR JUST THE SMUT!

Maryse September 14, 2015 at 12:52 PM

Hi Ela!

I wrote a post about this very distinction… lemme find it. ;)

Maryse September 14, 2015 at 12:53 PM
Tessa September 14, 2015 at 12:53 PM

lol Not much difference. :D I guess I should say do you want an Urban fantasy with vampires (totally not sexy and totally different from the norm), necromancers and shifters or other world with the Fay who fight evil wizards? Both equally good.

Ela September 14, 2015 at 1:07 PM

Oh! Great! Thanks Maryse! That is a most helpful explanation.

Tessa, I guess I want something sexy!

Julie September 14, 2015 at 1:09 PM

Finished Hollywood Dirt this weekend. What to read next? Thinking The End Game or A Second Chance at Paris.

Jean September 14, 2015 at 1:09 PM

Yep Ela, total smut….although the author did warn us!

Grey, I seriously loved Cocky Bastard. Have you met the goat yet? Hysterical!

Ela September 14, 2015 at 1:10 PM

Jean!!!!!!!!!! Coach is totally nasty and taboo smut and I’M LOVING IT!

Ela September 14, 2015 at 1:12 PM

OMG Jean…..LMAO…..the poor goat with its “issues” I loved loved loved how it kept falling over!

The author sure warned us so can’t say “oh I didn’t know, this is nasty”….

fabi September 14, 2015 at 1:17 PM

Julie, A Second Chance at Paris is really good. A five star for me. Someone here recently said that The End Game was great for about half the book but that it went downhill after that. I don’t know because I haven’t read that one.

Tessa September 14, 2015 at 1:23 PM

Erm, pure sexy? TS has a little more, KD is a slow burn. Lemme think on pure sexy PNR. You read Dark Hunters by Sherrilyn Kenyon or Immortals After Dark series by Kresley Cole? Those are more standalone thus more sexy. Oh, Pure fantasy usually takes place in a different world. Think Lord of the Ring or Game of Throne versus Patricia Briggs’ Mercy Thompson series or Kim Harrison’s Hollows series.

Jean September 14, 2015 at 1:27 PM

Julie, I second Fabi, A Second Chance at Paris! Sooo good! Also, I just returned The End Game based on Tessa’s comments…..too many books to read and I can’t afford to waste my time!

Ela, pure smut! Lol!

Yeah the goat, loved Esmerelda Snowflake, aka Mutton, aka Bugger, aka Pixy!!!

Ela September 14, 2015 at 1:28 PM

Not totally pure sexy but some…I read both IAD (which is one of my all time favorite) and Dark Hunters too. I’ll just eeeny minnie miney moe it, I guess???

Tessa September 14, 2015 at 2:05 PM

Rofl I guess. It’s like comparing a plum to an apple. Both good, but definitely different. Stronger heroine, KD. More romantic, TS. That’s why I can’t decide. Tairen Soul, though. It’s also MichelleS’s favorite of all time.

Ela September 14, 2015 at 2:17 PM

Tairen Soul it is then :)

Have you or anyone came across anything similar to IAD??? I love the stories along how there are true soul mates and Nucking Fux Nix is the freaking best!

Tessa September 14, 2015 at 2:40 PM

Probably. I’ve erm, read a lot of PNR and Urban Fantasy. Lemme go through my Goodreads to think. A few pop up in my head, bu I need to think. Want the humor mostly or the romance with the PNR, or the PNR element as it is there?

Ela September 14, 2015 at 2:50 PM

Whatever you dish out….LOL

Tessa September 14, 2015 at 3:07 PM

Aisling Grey series by Katie MacAllister. Funny and sexy. I don’t remember if there is full steam in the first book, but there is definite heat, and tons of humor.

I need to just type up every series I’ve ever loved. That’d make it easier. :D TS, though, you’ll get your romance and fear, and so much tummy twist from the evil wizards.

Ela September 14, 2015 at 3:16 PM

Oh my Dear Tessa! I read that series as well! LOL!!!!!!!!!!! You may not be the only Fantasy/PNR readeraholic…..

Tessa September 14, 2015 at 3:27 PM

See! Need to make a list. :D I’m looking at a GR list of PNR and UF and I’ve read most of them.

MichelleS September 14, 2015 at 6:32 PM

Ela – similar to IAD? Well, if you mean a PNR that each book is about a different couple but in the same world and it just keeps adding to the fun and some humor and sexy time with hot alpha guys and sassy girls? Okay – if that’s what you mean then have you read Shelley Laurenston’s the Pride series? OMG. Hilarious. Sexy. PNR. Shifters. And even a Nix type character (a crazy shifter Blaine).

MichelleS September 14, 2015 at 6:34 PM

Ela – I will never steer anyone away from Tairen Soul, but it really is a 5 book commitment. One story that is “epic fantasy”. The world building and magic is amazing. The secondary characters are even stronger than the primary couple. But not a short or fun or light read. Best fae world ever!!!! (it never gets old plugging that book).

Michelle September 14, 2015 at 7:02 PM

Ok I got Coach to try since it’s KU and I’m curious after reading that warning!

Tessa, I’m only at 16% with Afterlife and I feel like I’ve been reading and reading. I like it but I will say editing is needed…there’s a lot that could be conveyed with less words and description. I’m starting back up now so hopefully I get more Draven time – still so mysterious.

Ela, I think the Psy/Changeling series by Nalini Singh has a similar feel. There’s probably more if I think but that one jumped out for me.

Michelle September 14, 2015 at 7:05 PM

Oh one more Larissa Ione Demonica series

Tessa September 14, 2015 at 8:14 PM

Yes, I’m at 10%, I’m liking it, but it does need a few things smoothed out. I’ve not read the Pride series. *wishlist*

fabi September 14, 2015 at 9:02 PM

Eeeeek. The Martian movie comes out Oct 2nd! That’s gotta be good.

fabi September 14, 2015 at 9:09 PM

Tessa, I’m going to 2nd Michelle’s suggestion that you don’t skip over Red Rising. It is a must read.

Tessa September 14, 2015 at 9:28 PM

I will. If nothing else, yes, it’s at the library. I just went through that weird PNR need and didn’t read much more than PNR/ fantasy for two plus months. :D They have both books there. It’s just under their no renewal section.

fabi September 14, 2015 at 9:53 PM

It’s sci fi dystopian with pnr elements. You just can’t go wrong with it. Hahaha

Tessa September 14, 2015 at 10:37 PM

Sounds like my type. :D

Lisa September 15, 2015 at 1:06 AM

Oh Joy!!!!!! I love pre-release order day. Opened my Kindle today to discover Dark Wild Night, Softer Than Steel, Drowning to Breathe and Screwed all loaded up and ready to go!

Jean just finishing Coach first…and Im with you the guy on the cover of Coach needs a good ‘manscaping’.
Hollywood Dirt, Cocky Bastard and Greyson’s Vow all 5 stars for me too.

Ela September 15, 2015 at 8:27 AM

Thanks MichelleS! I actually have those on my TBR.

Will definitely read Tairen Soul

Read most of the Psy-Changeling books then I got side tracked by Maryse’s blog and bam!

Demonica looks good!

Jean September 15, 2015 at 8:43 AM

So after “researching” what to read next all night last night, I ended up starting Pure Abandon! Did someone compare this to Arsen because that’s kinda the feeling I’m getting……really liking it so far!

Ela September 15, 2015 at 10:25 AM

Well it looks like my Buddy Reader decided on Kate Daniels, so Kate it is…

Tessa September 15, 2015 at 11:19 AM

Kate Daniels is really good too. Tell us what you think!

Ela September 15, 2015 at 3:00 PM

Oooopsie. Changed my mind, going with Demonica :)

Michelle September 15, 2015 at 5:54 PM

They are good Ela yey! My favorite are the ones focusing on the four horsemen theme, books 6-9, especially Death – that whole storyline I’ve gone back and reread I love it so much!

Tessa September 15, 2015 at 7:29 PM

Horsemen theme? 6-9? I gotta read the rest of those.
