<— LOL!!! That title and cover!!! That’s how I feel today. Happy and goofy, enjoying this wonderful start to my Easter weekend, with a touch of bittersweetness, since today is my sister’s last day visiting me. *sniff sniff* It’s been an awesome time, but my regular schedule is going back into effect, and my books are going to keep me company. AND my book-buddies!!! 😀 *snuggles all of you*
I’m thinking this weekend is going to be hectic for many, considering it’s tax time, and it’s Easter time, and I wonder how much reading will be happening, but if you find a great one, PLEASE let us know.
In the meantime…
Take a look at what we found! (NOTE: some are bargain priced when I added them, but prices can change on Amazon, so make sure to check before you finalize your order. Sales listed are for Amazon U.S., however some of the Amazon UK links also reflect the sale!):

- The Gravity of Us by Brittainy Cherry <— LIVE!!! BRITTANY CHERRY ALERT!!! In case you missed it yesterday… it CAN be read as a standalone! P.S. Here’s the series reading order (and I hear they are ALL awesome and ALL can be read as standalones).
- The Gentleman Mentor by Kendall Ryan <— HE’S A DOM & HE’S TRAINING HER FOR SOMEONE ELSE… KENDALL RYAN SUPER-BARGAIN!! “I’m training her for another man, and that fact guts me every time I think of it. I know she’s not mine … but part of me won’t accept that…”
- Mercenary by Michelle Horst <— LIVE!!! SHE WANTS REVENGE & HER NEIGHBOR IS GOING TO HELP HER… Nancy found us this one! “…I used to be scared of my neighbor. But since the switch in me is flipped and I’ve become this monster, I’m drawn to him like a moth is drawn to a flame…“
- I’ve Seen You Naked and Didn’t Laugh: A Geeky Love Story by Eden Butler <— ACTORS & BEST FRIENDS ALERT! It sounds SO fun and it’s super-bargain priced today! “…Raine and Will shot up the Hollyweird ranks together. They became stars, Geek legends and over the years, family. But one night, with the meddling of their dearly departed friend, too many shots and too much time reminiscing, Raine and Will cross a line…and it’s one they can’t jump back over...”
- Buttons and Lace by Penelope Sky <— DARK READ SUPER-SALE ALERT!!! Thank you for finding it, Lauren!
Lauren: Major sale….Buttons & Lace by Penelope Sky …right now, down from $6.99!!
Chelli: Chelli: Don’t know if this one has come under your radar but I just devoured Buttons and Lace by Penelope Skye. It’s dark, twisted and oh so good!!
Ratula: This was a six star book for me Maryse. I am DYING for book two next month. But Brace. It has tough parts but Crow is amazing!
- BLOOD: An Evil Dead MC Story (The Evil Dead MC Series Book 7) by Nicole James <— LIVE!!! BIKER BOOK ALERT! “He’s the Enforcer for the New Orleans Chapter of the Evil Dead MC. She’s a nurse, kidnapped and thrust into a situation out of her control…“
- Beyond the Sea: LGBT Romance by K. Andrews <— M/M ROMANCE & STRANDED ON A DESERTED ISLAND ALERT! It’s been recommended as just plain AWESOME so many times, and MichelleS recommends it, too!
MichelleS: …have you read Beyond The Sea (K. Andrews)? I think it’s a perfect Spring or Summer read. They get stranded on an island! So it’s like On the Island, only it’s two men… and it’s May-December, and one of them is in a boy band!!! Sounds so so cheesy – but it’s not. It was really really good…
LeslieM: Oooooh Beyond the Sea is one I’ve been wanting to read….sounds so good. Its on my book buddy challenge for Fabi’s 5 star. 🙂
- Why The River Runs (The Riverview Series Book 1) by JoAnna Grace <— LIVE!!! SHE DOESN’T HAVE TIME FOR A RELATIONSHIP… “Tough as nails, Tina Foster, doesn’t have time for a relationship. She’s far too busy running her family construction company. Tina’s take charge attitude may intimidate some, but to others, she’s a rock, a woman with a plan. - Lady Louisa’s Christmas Knight (Windham Book 6) by Grace Burrowes <— *HAPPY SIGH* INDUCER ALERT!! HISTORICAL ROMANCE and Jan recommends it!
Jan: Terrible title for the book, but it’s another nice book in this series. I’m trapped in another HR craze at the moment (it happens now and then ) For some reason the titles of the books about the girls in the Windham series are all pretty corny titles. But enjoyable books all the same. (And it’s not even Christmas LOL). I like series about siblings. Joseph in this book is a wounded vet of the Napoleonic War. He is also a widower with two sweet little girls. Louisa has some shady secret, but I know all will be well in the end Happy sigh…….
- Power Play (A Blades Hockey Novella Book 1) by Maria Luis <— NHL HOCKEY STAR ALERT!! “…Charlie Denton has been handed the most impossible assignment from her stick-in-the-mud boss: get an exclusive interview with the NHL’s golden boy, Duke Harrison. The catch? She’s got eight days or she’ll be demoted...”
- All You Need Is Love: Green Mountain Book One (A Green Mountain Romance 1) by Marie Force <— MARIE FORCE ALERT & IT’S ON SUPER-BARGAIN!! She crashes her car, and he helps her, but… “…After wrecking her car by colliding with the town moose, she meets the most handsome hero she’s ever seen. Unfortunately, her savior, Will Abbott, is also the son of her client–and he wants nothing to do with the new website or the city girl creating it…“
- Silent Child by Sarah A. Denzil <— PSYCH-THRILLER ALERT!!!! HER YOUNG SON VANISHES WITHOUT A TRACE… and comes back years later, a broken teenager. “Ten years later, Emma has finally rediscovered the joy in life. She’s married, pregnant, and in control again… … until Aiden returns. Too traumatized to speak, he raises endless questions and answers none. Only his body tells the story of his decade-long disappearance. The historic broken bones and injuries cast a mere glimpse into the horrors Aiden has experienced…” TONS of great reviews and it’s super-bargain priced today!!!
- Turning Back (The Turning Series Book 2) by J.A. HUSS <— LIVE!!! J.A. HUSS ALERT! AND IT’S FORBIDDENY SOUNDING… *blush* “…I lived in the dark for three years. My whole world revolved around the whims and happiness of three men. It was just a trip into the forbidden. A way out of a bad situation and forward into nothingness…”
- Where Good Girls Go to Die (The Good Girls Series Book 1) by Holly Renee <— HER BROTHER’S BEST FRIEND ALERT! “…He watched me fall, spiraling out of control, and as I reached for him, he wasn’t there to catch me. So I ran. Four years later, I never expected to see him again. He was still my brother’s best friend, and he was more unavailable than ever...”
- Tell Me Three Things by Julie Buxbaum <— “What if the person you need the most is someone you’ve never met?” Ohhhhh yes it sounds SO good (I remember this one being recommended before) and now Jacki recommends it!
Jackie: I just read a really good young adult book called Tell Me Three Things by Julie Buxbaum. I picked it up a couple months ago when it was bargained price, it no longer is. But just suggesting to keep this on your radar in case the price drops again. I would highly recommend this one.
- Etched in Bone (A Novel of the Others) by Anne Bishop <— HUGE-HIT SERIES CONCLUSION!! Recent release and Tessa FIVE-STAR LOVED it! Here’s the series reading order (must be read in order!) and I LOVED book #1 (and need to continue). P.S. The author confirmed 2018 will have more “The Others WORLD” type books. 😉 YAY FOR SPINOFFS!
Tessa: I finished Etched in Bone. New exploding fluffballs, Skippy doing that thing that just made me have happy tears, the poor little girl, the bad guy, the two observers, penpals, Sam, the bike scene, Simon and Meg…
Five star, yes, but I’m seriously going to miss the courtyard.
For those going on a road trip soon, or maybe you’ve got some projects that require both hands this weekend but still allows you to “listen”… check out the free audible trial + 2 free audiobooks deal —>
- AND! Here’s the fun-tool again! —> Find out which of YOUR Kindle books are available as audiobooks at a BARGAIN-PRICE! <— This thing is so cool (Amazon calls it “Matchmaker“)! It’s an Amazon feature, that scans all of your Kindle books and will list all of the ones you have that are also available as an audiobook at a discounted price (not normal audiobook prices). This way, you can switch back and forth, seamlessly between your ebooks and your audiobooks. VERY COOL!
- Dirty Red by Tarryn Fisher <— ONE OF OUR FAVORITE ANGSTY-CRAZY SERIES and Stacey recommends it in audiobook format!
“Tarryn Fisher’s Love Me With Lies series (Opportunist, Dirty Red and Theif) is so good. Each book is told from a different POV, and is not just a re-hashing of the same events. This series is excellent on Audible (especially the “other woman’s” story, Dirty Red).”
- Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe by Benjamin Alire Saenz <— ONE OF BEV’S LATEST FAVORITES!!! She listened to it and loved it…
bev: Maryse I finished my audio book of Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe. And it was marvelous. …The narration is so good.

Are people actually sleeping??? Working???
I know it… I think people are sleeping in HARD today. 🙂
I’m here!!!!!!!!!!!!! (But I didn’t get up until ten) shhhhhh…!!!!
The Gravity of Us is getting big love on GR. I may actually have to *add* to my TBR for a change!
I was wondering if that series has to be read in order Robin?
10 as in AM!!!!!!!! Blasphemy!
Me too. I know they’re all ‘standalones’, but I’ve heard that one before and missed out on character development in previous books. And what is making this one special over the other three? Anything?? It seems to be getting more hype than the last two did.
The last one got a lot of hype too! I’ve never seen any continuing characters. They’re all complete standalones under the “elements” umbrella which I think is keeping her from potential sales!
I loved Loving Mr. Daniels, but I thought The Air He Breathes and Silent Waters were just OK. I loved the stories, and you won’t want to put them down, they both just had OTT moments and believability issues for me. But, if you know that going in and read them for what they are, which is really well written swoony romance, you’ll enjoy them.
And I was up until 2 am with the beta read I’ve been doing and 4 am the night before (and only got 1.5 hrs of sleep)! I deserved to sleep til 10 today! zzzzzzzzzzzzz! 😀
Hey guys! Yes, the Elements books are all standalones. Don’t have to be read in any kind of order. I’ll be jumping into Gravity of Us this weekend!
I wish I was healthy enough to eat these. They are pretty though.
https://www.wellandgood.com/good-food/healthy-unicorn-food-recipes/?utm_source=Well%2BGood&utm_campaign=53f1fef328-4_14_17_EET_Siggis&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_b430628ea3-53f1fef328-392101757
I tried one of the Elements books, but just not for me.
I’m listening to As You Wish written and read by Cary Elwes.
He has a great accent. Guest keep dropping in too.
Bev, I love that unicorn food!! Super cool!! I wish I had the patience to make some of those recipes.
Saturday here now but a good chuck of Good Friday was spent sleeping (yay public holidays) lol.
Did y’all see Bright Side by Kim Holden is on super sale for 99cents. Snapped that up quick.. been meaning to read it for a looong time.
Love the unicorn food!! I see so much unicorn stuff on FB because I follow TJ Klune and every time a unicorn is even mentioned someone tags him with it! There’s a whole restaurant in Asia (I think it is) with this stuff!
Oh and I finished Sweet Tass last night. It was good! Cute and quirky and easy to read.
Jen! Thank you for the info on Brightside! I’ve been waiting for a sale forever too!
Hey ladies! I’ve missed y’all. *group hug* <—– except for bev who gets a hesitant and careful pat on the arm 😛
Darkfever is .99 (oh, that delightfully frustrating mass of hotness called Barrons) and Sister Sister by Sue Fortin is also .99…how fun does THAT blurb sound??
As for me, I'm thoroughly enjoying all of the OTT fun of Bared to You. 😀
I just order another pair of same sandals, different color, that I received today. That is all….carry on.
*puts together Bright Side care package for Jean*
Ela…we can’t have too many pairs of sandals. 😉
Amy! Did you read your Pick for Me challenge book??? Where’s the squirrel???
Squirrel?? Where?!? *snicker*
I’m actually reading my April challenge book (one which everyone has already read), then I’m reading either my own personal challenge (a 2015 purchase) or my pick-for-me read, which Tessa wisely chose…Figure Eight!!
I picked Robin’s. You picked mine. 🙂 Lisa picked yours.
And I’m starting on mine, Lick, tonight! I hope…
Doh!! *covers face and peeks through fingers* Sorry Lisa. 😳
Maryse…sorry you don’t have longer with your sis. 🙁 How wonderful though to have such a great bond!
Okay, a have a new rant…thriller books with descriptions in the title.
[book title]: A psychological thriller with a twist you won’t see coming!
[book title]: A suspenseful thriller with an ending you won’t forget!
Seriously? Enough already. *shakes head*
LOL Amy. Blurbs can be annoying . I know they’re just trying to hook you into buying the book, but now we can all see that twist coming from a mile away…… :-/
What gets to me is the description IN the title of thriller/psych thriller/suspense books lately.
Not that I won’t read them mind you, I just don’t want to be annoyed from the get go. 😉
When I release my book… It’s going to say… blah blah, with lots of sex, just for Amyyyyy! <3
Hey all. So, I'm done with my beta project as well. My Pick for Me challenge has apparently turned into a buddy read that is starting on Monday, so I'm going to do my April challenge read today… Me Before You, I know, I can't believe I haven't read it either!
Back up the turnip truck Grey, that’s MY blurb!
I think R or Amy or Maryse or Jan, one of you all who cook, needs to make one of those unicorn recipes and tell us what it taste like. Or not be embarrassed to order the tea from Starbucks.
Trying to find these unicorn recipes you speak of, bev…
*backtracking through the comments*
I just looked at the recipes. I don’t think I can get those ingredients in Texas! I might be tempted to try that Starbucks order if I have a couple shots of tequila first…
LOL, R. I don’t think Amy can have too many books dedicated to her about sex…
I checked out those recipes…and the very first one, I’m thinking… well geez that cant be too hard, it’s just different colors of frosting, right? what’s the big deal… oopsie… apparently I missed the memo about them being “healthy” recipes *shrug*
Yeah where are the naughty unicorn recipes?
And now I just saw this. I say if it releases we all go get one.
https://www.refinery29.com/2017/04/149948/starbucks-unicorn-frappuccino?utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=facebook_share
Oh, and It Had to Be You by SEP is on sale.
I’d drink the unicorn frap, depending on the flavor. I don’t understand the unicorn food craze, but it is pretty. 🙂
I would not go to the trouble or expense to make it, might try it if at a restaurant. Mostly just cause it’s pretty and a novelty, plus healthy I guess. I’m not sure though I’d like it or want to really try some of the ingredients.
*squeals excitedly* Sexy times dedicated to little ol’ ME?!? I love you guys!!!!
And I would SO make some of those unicorn recipes! But, um, not the unicorn sushi. Sorry, can’t do it. 😕 But I CAN do this:
https://tipsybartender.tumblr.com/post/116829119288/unicorn-piss-1
I’m finally home and all comfy in my pajamas, otherwise I would be making a run to the liquor store. 😉
Oooooh that drink looks SO pretty. I’ll have to have it on my own. Sister is gone. 🙁
Not so sure about the unicorn food, but like how pretty it is. Might have to try the Starbucks drink just to see what all the fuss is about.
What is this thing called ‘unicorn food’? Jan asks dumbfoundedly. Never heard of it before. The pictures sure are pretty though. But Amy, the name of that drink…. seriously? *snort* Just, no.
Just finished Tormentor Mine by Anna Zaires and realllly liked it. She always writes dark stuff. It does end on a cliffhanger but you see it coming and the next book should be out soon. The H is one of those guys that you somehow hate and love at same time.
This weekend I will finish:
Shadowshape r by Daniel José Older.
Exit, Pursued by a Bear by E. K. Johnston.
Song of the Fireflies by J.A. Redmerski, Paula ‘ s pick for me.
This is my goal.
bev, I started walking at home today, and, therefore, I also started listening to Aristotle and Dante! I only walked a mile, so I haven’t gotten very far yet, but I’m loving what I’ve heard so far!
*throws hands up in the air*
Yay, Nay! It’s fun because I get your opinion on the story but also the narration. Interesting to break it up like that.
Yes, Maryse. Make the unicorn food. It does look like frosting, but it is not, lol.
Aww, Maryse… *huggles* I’m running to the liquor store later (*snort* how lovely does that sound?) and I’ll make us some unicorn piss. That’ll make it a little better hopefully!
bev, you an’ me… *points back and forth between us* we ARE going to complete the books we want to this weekend. For me it’s finish Bared to You and start (maybe even finish!) Figure Eight. 😀
I’m just hoping to finish Demon King. It’s starting quick, yet it does that back and forth between two characters thing. That’s frustrating because I want to stick with one character, not two. It ends on that CH, and then changes. GRRR
I’ve got big reading plans the weekend too. I started Me Before You, just took a small break to watch my littles color Easter eggs, now I’m getting comfy in the blankie fort… I feel like I’m going to need reinforcements…
I’m reading “The Widow” and I have no idea what’s going to happen, and am enjoying it for the most part, except for all the detective’s parts. I’m always interested in the bad guy and the victim, but never the police-procedural stuff…
One book down and two to go.
I hope in the end The Widow works out for you, Maryse.
Me too bev… I’m in “court” now (a court case… but I know this story is going to twist into so much more than this mystery).
Oooh I’m reading The Widow at the moment too. Only a few chapters in and really liking it.
I’m kind of excited to hear there are detective bits and court bits to look forward to?! Kind of work coming to life lol.
I DNF’d The Demon King. I did try, but I accidentally read a spoiler, and I was just done after reading that.
Ooh, Tessa, I hate when that happens!
Happy Easter, everyone!!
Happy Easter! Hope you all enjoy the day, however you see fit!
HAPPY EASTER LADIES!!!!!! 😀
I’m heading to a lobster buffet for Easter supper and aiming to finish up with Gideon and Eva. There are so many similarities to Fifty Shades, but it’s been long enough since I read FSoG that I actually don’t mind at all. 😉
Halfway through and I have a feeling Gideon is going to mess up badly at some point… 😕
Tessa…that’s awful. 🙁 Spoilers are evil and the people who tell them are Evil’s mistresses. Is it that hard for someone to write “spoiler alert” before revealing something?
No Peeps for them…
*evil chuckle*
I have ALL the spoilers.
I’ve read Bared to You.
Hahaha
Okay question…
Bared to You??? You mean… Part ONE of Sylvia Day’s quintology? <--- Is that even a word? LOL!!! Er... I can't remember if that series is 5?
Don’t you dare, bev.
I will snuggle hug you and smooch kiss your cheeks until you wish you had never heard the word spoiler.
Try me.
I love bev threats!!
Happy Easter everybody!
LOL Threaten with spoilers only to get threatened with huggles. lol
Maryse is promoting Bright Side since it’s on sale. I still can’t read that review without getting sniffly. And I read Gus so I should be fully cured!
I need to read Gus so I CAN be fully healed too…
Oh, so the Easter Bunny hid an egg so well, we can’t seem to find it.
Oh lord, you’re probably going to find the egg someday by its rotten smell, LOL!!!!
Bright Side… *sigh* And how healing was Gus? Me thinks me needs to share my Broght Side and Gus “theme” songs…
*Bright
Bright Side:

Gus:

Y’all are welcome. 😉
Is this a death club day? You guys are trying to make people cry?
I say

Yeah, bev. Maybe it’s bad that I’m encouraging everyone who hasn’t read Bright Side to read it today, of all days. Easter should be happy… 😉 But it’s GOOD!
Lol, I don’t know why it did that. Lol.
Happy Easter ladies!! I’m hoping to sneak in a little reading time today between cooking & cleaning. Reading Trickery, Curse of the Gods. It’s fantasy, but she’s a hoot, so I’m laughing a lot. I love clutzy, funny heroines!
Hey, those songs are applicable to MANY situations. Especially breakups.
Okay, here’s a quirky and adorable song that seriously cracks me up when it pops up on my playlist:
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=FePBV9F9vwI
“I started a fight, with the neighbor next door and his pesky wife…” LOL!!!!!
I LOVED Trickery! I can’t wait for the next one. I love so much about it. I five starred that one because of the secondary being so awesome. Very few 2d characters. Also, the klutzy, and her boys. *Squees* Enjoy MichelleS!
Just finished Me Before You… No spoilers because that’s not how I roll. I’m digesting…
Guess what! The book buying restriction is over! The bunny brought me a 25 dollar gift card to Amazon… (Autocorrect first made that Azkaban – really autocorrect, you’ll fix my horrible typing to a fictional place?)
But it’s the land of mystery, of enchantment, and the finest merchandise this side of the river Jordan! On sale today!
Or is that agrabah? I woke up early to find eggs. I know nothing. Though, found the lost egg! It was in the chalk box. 🙂
Azkaban is a prison. I need sleep? I actually had to google that.
Now I have the urge to hop a carpet and fly… Thanks Tessa 😉
lol You’re welcome!
Tsk tsk on the google.
I know! I forgot a Harry Potter reference. *hangs head* It’s only a main plot place and the name of one of the books. That’s all.
So, Max Monroe is releasing a new book on the 25th, Dr OB. I’m excited. I love them… LOL!
Yep, that’s the one! 😀 The first book in the Crossfire series and as over the top as it can get at times (the back and forth, the “I want you right away,” the things he says that no man would ever say unless he read one of these erotic books, etc.), I don’t even care because I’m getting all kinds of old-school feels which I haven’t had since reading Fifty Shades!
And even though I have a reading plan I’m trying to stick to, I may just have to jump into the next Crossfire book depending on how this one ends. THIS is why I read…for THIS kind of fun!!
And it looks like there are five books in the series…so quintology it is. Even if it’s not a “real” word, it will definitely be a word here. 😉
LOL!!!!!
I LOVED Bared to You (and I read a few more in it and loved those too). I need to finish the series…
Oh, Maryse encourage away. I don’t let holidays stop me.
Hey, you know who has ooomph?
Simon and his dog Justin Bieber, that’s who. <—see?
Hey, Amy? You know who you'd want to smooch kiss their cheeks? (I'd totally put that in italics if I could) Simon and his dog Justin Bieber, that's who.
OMG bev. His dog is Justin Bieber? *snort*!!!!!!!!!! 😛
Oh, wait. One more.
Hey, Tessa? You know who wouldn’t need to Google a HP reference? Simon …..ok the dog might need to, but that’s who.
Tessa, despite my love and re reading and re watching I am stumped on HP all the time. In fact not that long ago on one of the big spells. *shrug *
lol It’s baffling, right? I sat for a few hours once trying to remember Avada Kadavra. I don’t even remember why, but the fact that I couldn’t remember became so frustrating.
Yes, Maryse! You NEED to read Gus. I loved it even more than Bright Side, probably *because* it was a ‘healing’ book. It was wonderful!
I have it. I should read it Nay. For sure…
Lol, yes that is his dog.
Tessa, that’s the spell I believe. Even with beloved ones I can have book amnesia.
