Dark week is live and kicking here, going by today’s list. ;) I’m a bit “darked” out, though (I’ve been in dark-read mode all week), so after I’m finished Hero (dark read!), I’m thinking… rom-com next? There are definitely a bunch of genres below to taste-test.

But even more than that, what I really want is to fall head-over-heels with my next book boyfriend. I want to be in deeeeep, like how I am with “Travis“. And Kellan. And Dex. And Christian. I’m still searching for and missing those 3-day love fogs. Come to think of it, i’m missing the 1-day love fog, so here’s hoping my next read puts me there. *fingers crossed*

I’m going to dig in my trusty “17 books from my TBR list“. That one has worked out well for me so far, and I’ll see what I can come up with (unless someone here has a “sure thing” for me? My next absolute book boyfriend?). I do still have three tried and true series I need to get to (Kathleen Turner SeriesThe Fae Chronicles Series, and The Driven Trilogy) so I’m thinking my next “main man” is in there?

NOTE: bargain priced when I added them, but prices can change on Amazon, so make sure to check before you finalize your order.

P.S. Let me know if I’m missing any or if you loved any (from this list or elsewhere). :)

Todays latest reader recommendations and bargain ebook finds:

  • Until Lilly: Until Lilly (Until Series #3) by Aurora Rose Reynolds <— just released!! (here’s the series reading order)
  • Rare and Precious Things (Blackstone Affair) by Raine Miller <— JUST RELEASED! (and here is the The Blackstone Affair Series Reading Order)
  • Hero by Leighton Del Mia <— JUST RELEASED and it’s a dark one and I’m half way through it right now. Not as dark as some of our past ones, but she’s kidnapped and he has some serious dark urges… So far so good.
  • Deliver by Pam Godwin <— JUST RELEASED!! And Janet says: “hmmmmm…looks like the shoe is on the other foot in this one” <—- Ooooooh okay!!! YES this too, is tempting me. She’s the “bad guy”. “She lures young men and delivers them to be sold. She delivers the strikes that enforce their obedience. She delivers the sexual training that determines their purchase price. As long as she delivers, the arrangement that protects her family will hold.
  • Love’s Suicide: Love’s Suicide by Jenn Foor <— JUST RELEASED! and Jody says: “Currently reading Love’s Suicide and absolutely loving the twin triangle so far!!” And the blurb has me oooooooh’ing again!!! She’s caught between twin brothers..
  • Then There Was You: (So Much It Hurts Series Book #2) by Melanie Dawn <— JUST RELEASED!
  • Love, Your Concierge by Jessica Ingro <— JUST RELEASED! The author calls him a “hot, alpha, suit wearing lawyer with a filthy mouth…” Well well… that’s just my type. Or one of ‘em, anyway. LOL! and Kelly says: “I am salivating at the thought! Maryse, another Matt a la Night Owl? Yippee!!! (or Squeeeeee – hahaha) I’ve been dying to read the whole thing.
  • Fate Interrupted 3 by Kaitlyn Cross <— JUST RELEASED!
  • Fate by Nikki Sex <— JUST RELEASED and Stephanie found out it’s on sale right now. Plus, it’s got a intriguing blurb. She’s crushing on her brother’s best friend and… “Desperate and infatuated, Emily resorts to lies and deception. She only needs one night with Paul, to finally get over this obsessive crush.
  • Breaking Spades (Hamden Series) by W. Ferrero <— JUST RELEASED!  ”When an unknown stalker raises the stakes, ripping away her hard won control, CeCe reluctantly seeks help from the first, and last, man she gave her heart to before he vanished from her life–Jarod Gates.”
  • This Regret by Victoria Ashley <— JUST RELEASED! Oh! Is this another love triangle involving brothers??
  • Salvation by Noelle Adams <— JUST RELEASED! And looks like a heartrending, raw read.
  • Renegade Lady (Renegade Sons MC) by Dawn Martens <— Alexis found out that this new BIKER BOOK release, saying: “So excited Renegade lady is on sale! Been wanting to read this for a while and its been getting great reviews!” and Shannon says: “I enjoyed it and look forward to more.”
  • Taming Casanova (The Moretti Novels #4) by MJ Carnal <— Stephanie found us this RECENT RELEASE (good reviews so far!)! Book #4 in the series… he’s a player, and she “had a front row seat for Kevin’s conquests“. And Aimee just said: “looks like they are all on sale…yay *happy dance*”
  • Shattering Halos by Sunniva Dee <— Lheanne recommends it! “… it is a must read for anyone that loves paranormal!! I was hooked after the first chapter and could not put it down!!” Hrmmm… I just read the synopsis. Death angel? Grim Reaper? Either way, she’s human, he’s not and it’s a forbidden love story. “I am Gaia Samuelle and I should have died in the car accident that killed my friends. Only I didn’t. It wasn’t a miracle that saved me; it was love. My best friend Marina thinks I’m being seduced by a demon. She thinks she can save me. But she doesn’t understand. I don’t need saving. All I need is him.
  • Dying To Survive by Scott Hildreth <— Just recently released and Lisa says: “Have you had a chance to check out this book? It was released 2 nights ago and I read it yesterday. It’s very dark and twisty, but such a good read. The cover is a little scary, though.. lol.” <— Eeeeeeep! GAH! I just read the blurb and… well… I’m taking a dark-read break for a bit. But for some of you that are in the mood for twisted… maybe this? Let me know. :P
  • Riding Dirty (Ruiners Motorcycle Club) by Abriella Blake <— BIKER BOOK ALERT! Oh and fighter, too. Just recently released… “Bronson Ramsey. MMA fighter, bad ass outlaw biker, and womanizer extraordinaire. Bronson has his own financial problems–every cent he makes on his brutal, high-profile fights is going to pay off a vicious cartel that’s at war with the biker club he calls family. He has no time for relationships, even if he wanted one. But something in Rowan calls out to his battered soul.”
  • Cole (The Ride Series) by Megan O’Brien <— another BIKER BOOK that was just released. “Cole Jackson, Vice President of The Knights MC comes bursting into her life with his gorgeous eyes and fierce determination to have her in his bed and his life.”
  • Progress (The Progress Series #1) by Amy Queau <— this entire series is on sale! He sounds kind of “hermit-y” by the blurb… “Outwardly he’s rude, awkward and unapproachable. But his sudden bursts of charm are inescapable.” (here’s The Progress Series Reading Order)
  • The Solitude of Passion by Addison Moore <— Aimee found out this one is on sale today! “When Lee’s husband leaves the country on a community outreach, the last thing she expects is for him to never come back—for him to have tragically met his demise. Lee goes on to marry his adversary…
  • Shark Bait (Grab Your Pole, #1) by Jenn Cooksey <— on sale and Lea HIGHLY recommends it! Actually many from our reading crew LOVE this series. I really need to get on it! “This series is one of my favorites, like ever. It’s mature YA that features super sexy guys and some of the wittiest dialogue I have ever had the pleasure of reading. If you haven’t done so yet, pick up the first book in the Grab Your Pole series. …I swear I was hooked immediately!” (here’s the series reading order).
  • Untie My Heart by Judith Ivory <— this is an interesting recommendation!! Not bargain priced, but Ilsa personally recommends this one saying: “Ivory does historical, which isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, but she does it with modern flair and snappy dialogue. Anyway, she can write HOT as hell sex. Way before 50 SOG, she penned a scene where the hero ties the heroine to a chair because she’d been embezzling from him. Holy Hannah, it is fried in my brain. … It’s one of my favs… I know it sounds goofy cause she’s a sheep farmer, but I assure it, IT WORKS. haha” And you know what’s funny? While I don’t normally gravitate to the historical romances, every one I’ve read, I’ve loved. In fact… they almost seem steeeeeamier than our contemporaries. *fans self*
  • Slide (Roads) by Garrett Leigh <— M/M ALERT! Not bargain priced, either, but Kandace loves it! “I read the most amazing book this week, ‘Slide’ by Garrett Leigh. I cannot believe people are not talking about her books more. I started ‘Slide’ and was hooked from the very first page. As soon as I finished it, I immediately dived straight in to the second book (Rare). I realize M/M is not for everyone but this is book is so amazing and beautiful. The first book is a standalone but there is so much more of their story to be told. This is more than a story about two men! … I loved watching their relationship progress and at times fall apart. I could go on & on about this book. I highly recommend everyone read Slide! 10 STARS for me! There was just something about it that I connected hard with. I will never forget them.” <— I. Am. On it! :D !!!!
  • Unexpected Protector (Isthmus Alliance) by Sloan Johnson <— Aimee found this one! Oh YAY!!!!! This one might be for me! He’s a cop, and she’s a former junkie: ”Some of those closest to Tommy are less than thrilled with his devotion to Holly. Those who pressured Holly into her former life are worried she’ll share what she knows.“ I think he’s a Dom, too from the blurb. “For reasons he can’t explain, he feels the need to protect Holly from her own past. In the process, he’s hoping to also teach her that there is more to D/s than releasing pent up emotions.”
  • Away by B.A. Wolfe <— Trisha says: “I absolutely loved this debut novel! B.a. Wolfe will send you on a beautiful, emotional and heart gripping journey!” and Tracie says: “I totally agree!! Loved this” and Kim agrees too: “I LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS BOOK!!!”
  • Consequences by Aleatha Romig <— definitely a DARK read. Here is my review.

((((Maryse)))) you know what I am going to say already LOL !! If your looking for “I’m actually in the mood for a hero/bossy-alpha type book that will give me extreme stomach butterflies” then it’s time to start The Kathleen Turner series!! It is everything we love in books all rolled into one awesome package. We will be old & grey in our rocking chairs and I STILL will be begging you to read them LOL xoxo

I don’t know what to read next. :( I’m searching for my next 5 star read.

Lindsay February 28, 2014 at 2:16 PM

Your next book boyfriend will be Jesse Ward if you read This Man series–I guarantee it! :)

Jessica N February 28, 2014 at 2:20 PM

You have to read the Kathleen Turner series. Not only are there two totally hot guys, but the added love triangle. I am a sucker for it. Then there is the suspense, and did I mention the 2 hot guys :) And they are brothers. What more can you ask for?

Nicole T February 28, 2014 at 2:45 PM

Both the Driven trilogy and the Kathleen Turner series are so great! You can’t go wrong. I’m stingy with 5 stars but I’d give them to the Turner series for sure.

Lynne February 28, 2014 at 3:00 PM

Kandace, If you love Slide, Read “Rough Canvas” by Joey Hill, it’s one of the most Beautiful love stories I have Ever read. I think it’s one of Maryse’s 17 TBR this year.

Also, Maryse, I agree with Lindsay, Jesse Ward is HOT. I Loved the This Man Trilogy!

I’m reading the Driven trilogy this weekend. Can’t wait to meet Colton!!

Stacey Lynn February 28, 2014 at 3:23 PM

I was going to say the same thing as Sally! If you want bossy. Mercenary. cop. Alpha-male, you HAVE to start the Kathleen Turner Series. You’ll get TWO :) It’s a fantastic series.

Donna February 28, 2014 at 3:24 PM

Just finished reading “Away” this morning. I have a book hangover, but it was an amazing read. It was beautiful and devastating. A definite must read Maryse. 5+++ stars. Have tissue handy!!

Courtnee February 28, 2014 at 3:27 PM

I just started the Driven Series, I’m maybe 20% in and I am already loving Colton’s bossy alpha arrogance. The only reason I’m only 20% in is because I couldn’t keep my eyes open! He definitely has “fog” potential! :) I’m excited to see where it goes!

Maryse February 28, 2014 at 3:57 PM

You guys!! I’m on it! Kathleen Turner it is!!! Okay this weekend (starting tonight). YAY ME!!!!

Laura Brady February 28, 2014 at 4:35 PM

Lauren February 28, 2014 at 4:38 PM

I’m telling you….Nothing Left to Lose by Kirsty Mosely. Incredible book. Or Disastrous by E.L Montes & the sequel Cautious. I’ve read & reread those so many times!!!! I’ve already recommended Lindsay Delagair’s Unforgivable series. All the books are out & soooooo good!!

Jennie February 28, 2014 at 4:47 PM

Love, Your Concierge is a MUST READ!!!!! You will absolutely fall hard in love with Mr. Grant Morgan!!!! Jessica Ingro did such an amazing job with this book I read it in one sitting!!! :) 5++ Stars!

Lauren February 28, 2014 at 4:59 PM

Is anyone else having trouble getting to Dying to Survive by Scott Hildreth on Amazon? It keeps saying it’s not a functioning page on their site…..go to Amazon.com home page for further details…. Haven’t had any trouble with the other books on the list, just that 1.

Cindy February 28, 2014 at 5:06 PM

Maryse… I’m in. After reading the above posts… Yep I need that next amazing read and it sounds like Kathleen Turner is the one to read next. I’m gonna start it tonight too! :) yay! Thanks ladies!

Maryse February 28, 2014 at 5:07 PM

LisaB February 28, 2014 at 5:42 PM

Book boyfriends are hard to find. Plenty are swoon worthy but few actually make my list. It’s one of my favorite feelings in the world when it happens. It’s like recreating first love. I hope you find him soon!

emma February 28, 2014 at 6:12 PM

Turner series of course. Love them BOYS !

Triva February 28, 2014 at 6:24 PM

I

Amy February 28, 2014 at 6:33 PM

Ignore the above *cringing*

Broken record here, but the Accidentally On Purpose series by L.D. Davis. It won’t give you your next book boyfriend or leave you in a love haze, but it’s one to keep in mind when you want something to punch you in the ovaries.

Maryse! Big Fatty mascara from Urban Decay…BAM! Instant falsies!!

Maryse February 28, 2014 at 6:35 PM

Need!! I love falsies! Especially in mascara form. I kinda like figurative ovarie punches, too! Tee hee. We’re nuts. :P

Maryse February 28, 2014 at 6:38 PM

Triva, I’m trying to find it, so I can post it…

Maryse February 28, 2014 at 6:40 PM

Found it!! :D I’m adding it above…

Amy February 28, 2014 at 6:42 PM

LOL!!! Then this is the nuthouse, and we can all feel “normal” here. ;) and I’ll be serving up the creamy hazelnut martinis! Oh lord, I just had a visual of nuts with nail polish and pretty lashes. And I’m actually sober right now…

Maryse February 28, 2014 at 6:48 PM

Oh yes… nutty is normal here. We’re all grinning, squeezing book addicts with fluttery hearts, too many book boyfriends, and weird dark-read urges. ;)

Ohhhh you said toooo many of my favorite words in one sentence, Amy. Mmmm… Hazelnut martinis. I’ve never had one and now I want one bad!

Amy February 28, 2014 at 7:04 PM

Shannon February 28, 2014 at 7:22 PM

Right now I’m finishing up And Then There Was You by Melanie Dawn. It’s the sequel to So Much It Hurts but it can be read as a stand alone. Chris King is so yummy and I love getting to find out what happened to him!

Nikki February 28, 2014 at 7:32 PM

Maryse….Read Driven. Colton will be the one. Without a doubt, one hundred percent. My friends and I are praying for a snow day Monday, just so we can one click and read Crashed, immediately. Colton will go right on the list. Truly!!!!!

Linh February 28, 2014 at 7:36 PM

ahhhh. KATHLEEN TURNER series! You are soooooooooo Team Kade. I am calling it now.

Lori February 28, 2014 at 7:45 PM

Yah! Until Lilly days early, I know what I’ll be doing tonight. I 1 clicked a few today, it’s truly an illness. I have about 500 unread books, but I want to buy new books instead. I read Cole, the ride series a couple of days ago, and liked it. Though it could really use a better editor. I think after Lilly, I’ll go with Love, Your Concierge.

Maryse February 28, 2014 at 9:03 PM

Ahhhh I’m at Ruby Tuesdays right now and no Hazelnut martini. Although they do have a delicious apple caramel martini. The entire rim lined in Dripping caramel… Mmmmmmmm

Maryse February 28, 2014 at 9:04 PM

You guys are killing me between Colton and Kade and Blane….

Shirley February 28, 2014 at 9:26 PM

Definitely go with The Kathleen Turner series!! Be prepared to stay up all night! You wont be able to put them down. Cant wait to see what team you choose. I switched teams after book 4. Ha!

Erin M February 28, 2014 at 9:30 PM

I choose Colton…..Maryse!! I think you will love him!! I did

Kelley February 28, 2014 at 10:50 PM

The Kathleen Turner series is so much better than the Driven series. I think you’ll be Team Kade, too, especially after book 2.

Jamie February 28, 2014 at 11:20 PM

I see AWAY on the list again …. Its a must , I have not read a book that made me ugly cry like that one did …. as the matter of fact I have never ugly cried about a book till that one …

Brooke March 1, 2014 at 2:30 AM

I’m only going to say it one last time ‘The Kathleen Turner series’!!! If u start it today good luck getting any sleep. Go team Kade! We love u in Australia Maryse!

Laura March 1, 2014 at 5:11 AM

Cindy March 1, 2014 at 9:55 AM

Did you start it Maryse? Did ya did ya? Lol….I started the Kathleen Turner series last night and oh my gawd…I love it so far! I love when books suck me into the story so quickly. I also love when there is more to the plot than just the two main character storylines. Finding a GOOD book makes me so happy :)

Heidi March 1, 2014 at 10:43 AM

Maryse! If you finish Driven on Saturday, Fueled on Sunday, you can join the rest of us in the mad dash for Crashed on Monday!! XD

Maryse March 1, 2014 at 11:36 AM

Yep, Cindy! I’m about 40% into book #1!!! So far so good!

Beverly March 1, 2014 at 11:41 AM

“The Kathleen Turner series” doesn’t sound like my usual first pick, but you guys have talked me into it. Plan to start this afternoon. Thanks to all of you!!!!

Linda March 1, 2014 at 12:45 PM

OK guys I’m seriously into my Fae Chronicles but feeling very lonely with all the Kathleen Turner series buzz.

Michelle March 1, 2014 at 12:59 PM

Team Kade. Team Kade. Team Kade. Yay!!! KT series…. If you can get past the outrageously number of situations she finds herself in (not going for any sort of realism here) and just enjoy the hot love triangle, then you’ll enjoy them. The storylines are sub par, but the romance kept me interested. Besides, TV dramas like Castle have the heroine in one near death experience after the other, so I just looked at it that way. Like I was watching another episode of a crime drama. Kade made it all worth it. Can’t wait for May!!

Michelle March 1, 2014 at 1:02 PM

Out if your list of three TBR series choices, I’d have picked Fae Chronicles. Liked it better than other two. Not a fan of Driven. Totally unforgettable for me…

Alex Carol March 1, 2014 at 1:08 PM

I loved Colton! I’m re-reading Fueled and Driven just to gear me up for Crashed on Monday. I’m also praying for a snow day in NY, more so than my own children ;-)

Maryse March 1, 2014 at 1:39 PM

Awesome Michelle, Thank you for that tidbit!! I will “go with it” and enjoy the love. LOL! :P

So it pretty much looks like just need to read all three series in a row. Kathleen first though!

Sally March 1, 2014 at 8:28 PM

OMG!!! Maryse FINALLY ! I AM SO HAPPY you are starting the Kathleen Turner Series..Literally doing a happy dance around my living room!

Maryse March 1, 2014 at 8:39 PM

LOL!!!!!!! :D

Jill March 1, 2014 at 10:56 PM

Maryse when you are ready for a dark read again, go for deliver by Pam Godwin. Just finished it and it was awesome!

cheryl March 4, 2014 at 8:04 PM
