BREAKING NEWS UPDATE —> R.K. Lilley’s latest release “DAIR (The Wild Side #3) just went live on Amazon yesterday evening!!! So for this of you following the series, it’s ready! :D

<— First… holy moly you guys!!! Next week’s (Tuesday) releases are gonna ROCK. OUR. WORLDS!!! I posted the pre-orders below (like this one, Lead and this one, Beautifully Forgotten and this one, Rogue (The REAL series Book 4) and I’m freakin’ out and so excited. Yeah, my poor TBR list just got tighter, ’cause I squeezed a  few more in. Including a bunch from the “finds” below. :D

So, today’s list has our usual reader recommendations, but today I spent a few hours doing specific “genre” searches (like I used to do back in 2011 and how I found Beautiful Disaster…) and I think I came up with quite a few that sound right up our alley! So many are very “new-to-me” and maybe new to you? I’ve already one-clicked a bunch so that means squirreling potential. I just finished two books from my latest TBR list (and have a couple of reviews to write), but I’m thinking of jumping off for just a read or two and playing in a few of these latest finds. ;)

Like maybe…. If I Break (tried and true by two of our fellow readers that have the same taste as us! And it’s a tumultuous marriage read), or The Savage and the Saint (only 70-something pages, but the premise of that blurb has me imagining all sorts of intensity and depth, and if done right, a couple of hours in a short story can really be as satisfying as a full-length one), Sweet Addiction (the blurb doesn’t *jolt me* much, but the reviews sure do!), or Come Back To Me (another military hero read, and he’s being deployed… oh the heartbreak!), OR!!! The Vixen and the Vet <— THIS ONE is calling to me RIGHT now. Scarred military hero that none has seen in 8 years… and then she knocks his door with brownies. MINE!!!!

Oh!!! And *squeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!* don’t forget THIS ONE (Lead: A Stage Dive Novel) is coming out on Tuesday —>
I absolutely LOVE this rock star series so far (I 5-starred BOTH Lick & Play) and THIS is the one I really anna read, ’cause he’s a &%*$#!!!!!! YES!!! :D

Yep, I one-clicked a bunch below, and while so far, those I’ve read off of my TBR list have been great, I’m tempted to squirrel. ;) How about you guys?

P.S. Let me know if I’m missing any or if you loved any (from this list or elsewhere). :)

P.P.S. Don’t have a Kindle? No problem! Amazon offers various free Kindle apps and a free Kindle Cloud reader for any and ALL of us to use. You can either use the free Kindle App for your smartphone, tablet, AND your desktop computer (just like you’re using a Kindle, but right through your web browser <— No need to download anything! :D )

NOTE: bargain priced when I added them, but prices can change on Amazon, so make sure to check before you finalize your order.

  • Don’t Say A Word by Barbara Freethy <— Sounds intriguing! “Julie De Marco is planning a perfect San Francisco wedding when she comes face-to-face with a famous photograph, the startling inage of a little girl behind the iron gate of a foreign orphanage — a girl who looks exactly like her. But Julia isn’t an orphan. She isn’t adopted. And she’s never been out of the country. She knows who she is — or does she?” and then… “Suddenly nothing is as it seems. The only person she can trust is Alex, but he has secrets of his own.
  • Blonde Date: An Ivy Years Novella (The Ivy Years 2.5) by Sarina Bowen <— RECENT RELEASE. I won’t read the blurb, ’cause I still need to catch up with this series. Book #1 was really good!
  • Breaking Brandon (Fate Book 2) by Elizabeth Reyes <— Stephanie found us this deal today, saying: “Breaking Brandon (Fate Series, Book 2) by Elizabeth Reyes. Fate is a Moreno Brothers spinoff series. Has fantastic reviews/ratings! On SALE for a limited time.”
  • Phenomenal X (Hard Knocks Book One) by Michelle A. Valentine <— WRESTLER SUPERSTAR BAD BOY ALERT!! Kat just found out that this recent release today!
  • Something More Boxed set by Tara West <— and Kat found us this 4-book bundle on sale today, too! “He’s not like any guy I’ve ever met. Not like my ex-fiancé. Not like my father. He’s got me thinking that maybe we can have something more. More than just lust, degradation, and abuse. And now I’m scared, because that means I’ll have to trust him with more than just my body, but with my heart, too.
  • Bastian’s Storm: Surviving Raine Book 2 by Shay Savage <— On my main TBR list!!! Another super-sale! Lori just told us that Shay Savage’s latest release, “Bastian’s Storm: Surviving Raine Book 2″ is on sale today! YAY!! I already one-clicked it on release day (and I’m gonna read it soon!!), but lucky that some of you to be able to get it on sale today! Here is my 5-star review of book #1.
  • What If by Bayli Lane <— MILITARY MAN ALERT! What an angsty sounding romance read. “They constantly fought to hold their feelings inside, not wanting to jeopardize their friendship. Then, Arrow left for the Marines, and everything changed. Briar was shattered. Arrow was hurt.
  • Sweet Addiction by J. Daniels <—  it has a ton of great reviews. The blurb doesn’t jolt me much (sounds like a typical romance, because she doesn’t want more than one night, and he does…) however I LIGHTLY skimmed the reviews, and it sounds AWESOME. I might just be missing out!
  • The Complete Now Series by Brenda Rothert <— a three book (full length) series bundle! Sounds like unrequited love, and sibling rivalry… fun! “…a massive crush on the boy across the street, Cole Marlowe. Too bad her incredibly hot neighbor only had eyes for Layla” But now they’re adults, and “He finally sees her in a way she only dreamed of, and their hot chemistry is fueled by a growing friendship. But Emma’s deception of her sister – who wants Cole for herself – and the secret Cole’s been keeping for more than a decade threaten to tear apart what’s only just begun.” And then!! There are two more books after that one! This could be a whole weekend ride!
  • Little Black Book by Tabatha Vargo <— Stephanie found out this recent release is on sale today! “I want to buy you. No Relationship, Just Sex. Don’t Ever Deny Me. Don’t Fall in Love. If you do either, I’ll remove you from my book and payment stops…” <— eek Well. I never!! ;) Sounds like fun! I mean…. reading fun. LOL!
  • Beautiful Broken Promises by Kimberly Lauren <— Stephanie found out this one’s on sale today! It’s a standalone, but I’m not sure where it’s going from the blurb… “After four years, Lane finally gets the call he’s been waiting for. Given back a piece of the life he’s been fighting so hard to reclaim, will he be able to handle everything that comes along with it? And if so, can all of his broken promises be redeemed?
  • If I Break by Portia Moore <— Recent release, and Louise highly recommends it!! She says: “I just finished If I Break by Portia Moore and I loved it! One of the biggest twist I have ever read!” and Janet agrees: “ loved it ” Ohhhh now I must check out the blurb!! :DWhat she thinks will be her happily ever after, is only the beginning. Cal has a secret. One that makes loving him come with a price, and being his wife cost more than she bargained for.” Ruh roh!!! I must know more. One-clicked!!
  • The Savage and the Saint by L.C. Morgan <— Okay I found this one doing searches and while it’s short (less than 100 pages), and it sounds like a few hours of good-reading (it sounds like it has that feel). “When a native tribe attacks and her husband is killed, Elizabeth is taken by a savage warrior who terrifies her. Not because of his exotic appearance, clothing or customs, but the new and powerful feelings he attempts to ignite in her.
  • Always by Amanda Weaver <— ROCK STAR BOOK! Sounds like a tumultuous ride full of feelings… ” Two up and coming musicians (she’s in one band, and he’s in another) that fall for each other… “…nothing will stop her from meeting him. They forge an intense connection, rapidly moving from friends to musical soul mates. Justine wants much more, but she’s not willing to climb over groupies and industry bottom-feeders to make it happen. Dillon becomes a fixture in her life, but she has to figure out how to keep him out of her heart.” <— and then stuff happens! Yep, I’m in the mood for something like this…
  • The Vixen and the Vet by Katy Regnery <— SCARRED MILITARY MAN/HERMIT ALERT!! Oh YES PLEASE! Plus LOTS of great reviews for this one. I’m one-clicking it. I just can’t help myself with these kinds of heroes. *sigh* “After an IED explosion in Afghanistan took Asher’s hand and disfigured half of his face, he’s lived a quiet life on the outskirts of Danvers where the locals respect his privacy…that is, until Savannah Carmichael comes calling in a borrowed sundress with a plate of homemade brownies. When Asher agrees to be interviewed by Savannah, he starts feeling things for the beautiful reporter that he hasn’t felt in years.” And then… stuff happens!!! Oh looks like it’ll affect my heart and my nerves!
  • Come Back To Me by Mila Gray <— MILITARY MAN ALERT!! Not bargain priced, but I just found it in my searching, and I just love this kind of storyline. Marine falls for his best friend’s sister, and they have a secret summer romance. “When summer’s over and it’s time for Kit to redeploy, neither Kit nor Jessa are ready to say goodbye. Jessa’s finally following her dreams and Kit’s discovered there’s someone he’d sacrifice everything for. Jessa’s prepared to wait for Kit no matter what. But when something more than distance and time rips them apart they’re forced to decide whether what they have is really worth fighting for.” <—- Ooooooof! I think this’ll hurt!

Paranormal alert. :-) For the Kate Daniels fans, number 7, Magic Breaks comes out on Tuesday. I love that series so !much, im actually going to read that before Lead.

MichelleS July 25, 2014 at 1:11 PM

Definitely back to squirrelly. But I think I figured out why. If I downloaded it and didn’t read it. it must not have captured my attention THAT much, so I keep thinking I will read a blurb that will really grab me. Something new. Exciting. Different. OR someone will recommend something that was awesome . That’s what I am hoping for. So find us something good. (Like the recents: After I Do and recent for me, Finding Home.) I will continue to stalk your page until you get all excited again…. And, sadly, the summer is nearing over (if you work for schools) so my reading frenzy will slow down. Need at least a few more 5 star reads.

Jeannie Smith July 25, 2014 at 1:31 PM

I have one more to add – the one that I have been waiting MONTHS to be released – Silver Shadows by Richelle Mead is released on Tuesday, July 29th. Fiery Heart left off on a major cliffhanger, and Ms. Mead says this one is going to be heart pounding and emotional. I have to say, I don’t think I have ever been disappointed with any of her books.

Jean July 25, 2014 at 1:33 PM

I’m definitely squirrelling! Won’t know what to read first next Tuesday….Lead or Rogue?!? Ugh! I am almost done Fighting Destiny and then want to read Finding Home before next week! Not enough time in the day! Oh and Maryse, I agree with you on The Vixen and the Vet…I 1-clicked that a couple weeks ago and it has been calling me (like so many others)!

Fabi July 25, 2014 at 1:42 PM

Rogue will definitely be a one clicker for me.

Jean July 25, 2014 at 1:55 PM

I thought so too Fabi, but then I saw the price. Gah! So I pre-ordered Lead for now just to make me feel better!

Linh July 25, 2014 at 1:57 PM

I just read Finding Home and it was sooooo good. Thanks for letting me know about this book. It gave me a wam fuzzy.

Maryse July 25, 2014 at 1:59 PM

And a hot and steamy, too. ;)

*snort*

Maryse July 25, 2014 at 1:59 PM

I’m on it, Michelle! :D

Maryse July 25, 2014 at 2:00 PM

Thanks for the paranormals, guys. I’ll add them in shortly.

bev July 25, 2014 at 2:14 PM

All of Me by Gina Sorelle is 99 cents right now. The next book All of You about Kat and Danny comes out on Monday. I’m sorry All of me didn’t do it for you. But for me the release of All of You and Lead on consecutive days lots me all kinds of happy.
I enjoyed The Vixen and the Vet, read it 4th of July weekend, and I believe half the proceeds still go to OPERATION MEND to help wounded vets that need reconstructive surgery.

Carrie Marie July 25, 2014 at 2:41 PM

The Vixen & the Vet is one of my faves!!! :) love this list!!!

Lori July 25, 2014 at 2:47 PM

I really liked Sweet Addiction, but loved the authors other book Where I Belong. So good!
I’m looking forward to Lead, I hope it’s better the Mal’s book, I didn’t connect with the MC’s.

Amy July 25, 2014 at 3:08 PM

I had probably half of these already sitting on my Kindle app (just re-reading the blurbs and/or descriptions had me excited all over again for them!), but the others looked enticing, too! I think I own almost every title from above now. *giggle* Whatever, I’m a hoarder of ebooks, nail polish, makeup and shoes, and I own it and won’t feel bad about it!! :D

Hush up, Peanut Gallery…you know you aren’t much different! :P *throwing the peanuts right back at the PG*

Lori July 25, 2014 at 3:26 PM

Hi, my name is Lori and I am a book hoarder. I have around 2500 books on my kindle app, with probably 600 unread. 1 clicking is my drug of choice.

Jill July 25, 2014 at 4:38 PM

Brenda Rothert’s The Complete Series Now is excellent. Each one got better! Very well written, great storylines and even better alpha men. ;) I would highly recommend the series.

Fabi July 25, 2014 at 5:05 PM

Does anyone know a way to keep the TBR organized in either the Kindle app or the Nook app? I use both and my TBR list has gotten big enough that I’m starting to wonder what I’ve already read and what’s next. I don’t know of a way to separate read from unread in either app.

Cheryl July 25, 2014 at 6:03 PM

Coming down off my paranormal high after reading the Fae Chronicles, The Compete Now series and Sweet Addiction look good…Finding Home looks good too, but after reading your review I’m unsure about it.

Maryse July 25, 2014 at 6:31 PM

Fabi, my Kindle app has the ability to make “collections” and that’s how I sort them… :D

Maryse July 25, 2014 at 6:32 PM

Cheryl… what what what!??? You must read Finding Home!!! Unless the age thing freaks you out, then, don’t read it. LOL!

But to this day I remember every detail and loved it like crazy. I just struggled with the age thing, but since then I’ve read far more “risqué” books, so suddenly that one doesn’t seem so… er… you know. ;)

Cheryl July 25, 2014 at 6:48 PM

I’m just weighing whether I want to deal with the difficult subject AND the age difference; even though I know it will be a great book. I think sometimes I make it worse in my head then the book turns out to be. ;)

Fabi July 25, 2014 at 6:49 PM

I started Finding Home an hour or two ago and at 5% in I could not believe how good it was. I’m so glad I took care of everything that needed doing today before I started it, because I won’t be able to put this one down. Sooooo good.

Maryse, thank you for the tip. I think I’ve seen a collections option. I’ll check it out.

Fabi July 25, 2014 at 6:53 PM

Cheryl, the age difference so far is 17 to 23. The 17 is almost 18. I have a son 17 and a daughter 21 and I don’t see a big difference in maturity between the two. In fact, my younger one has always been naturally the more mature one. This isn’t s story like Christian Grey who got picked up by a twisted cougar at a very young age. That one DID bother me.

MichelleS July 25, 2014 at 6:54 PM

Hey Cheryl, you could just keep the paranormal high going…did you ever read the Black Swan Series? She is tossed into an alternate universe (yay love that) right into the arms of a group of guys that are vampire hunters in their parallel universe. Really HOT vampire hunters. Did I mention how hot they were? It’s crazy sounding, I know, but it works. One of my all time faves. And Rammel Hawking!!!! Oh My Gawd!!! Hot Irish Elf…. The author does a great job at keeping you guessing, fast paced, hot guys, cool world building. I want a hot elf so so bad…. hahaha… if you were still in the mood for paranormal, that is.

Fabi July 25, 2014 at 6:56 PM

Michelle after your last suggestion was so good I’m putting this one on my reading list too. Thanks :-)

MichelleS July 25, 2014 at 6:58 PM

I second (third?) the cheers for Finding Home, Cheryl. Everything that seems like it would be difficult actually isn’t. I don’t know if that says something about me or about the author… I’ll go with the author. What she delivers is a page turner that is so in the moment it’s almost scary. She doesn’t try too hard – but manages to put in just enough detail about a touch here or there, or a look, or a laugh… I swear, it’s just got everything. If you try to write a blurb about the central plot it makes no sense why I would love it. He’s my son’s age, for good sakes. But it works. LOVED IT.

Fabi July 25, 2014 at 7:00 PM

Ooohhh Black Swan’s Eighteen is free with Kindle Unlimited. Oh, my TBR keeps changing!

MichelleS July 25, 2014 at 7:02 PM

Yes, Fabi!!! Check it out. The first one is FREE for Kindle, so what do you have to lose? Oh… only about 30 hours of your life once you start the series and fall in love with Ram.

MichelleS July 25, 2014 at 7:02 PM

The first one is called “My Familiar Stranger”….. I dare you!!

Fabi July 25, 2014 at 7:04 PM

Oh I thought the first one was Eighteen. Glad you said something.

Maryse July 25, 2014 at 7:07 PM

Michelle!!

And if you want another one by that author, that I found just as awesome and unique, and her amazing storytelling as SO intense and perfect, I recommend you read her book: Bone Deep: http://www.maryse.net/books/book-review-bone-deep-by-bonnie-dee.html

Historical, but barely noticeable (trust me on this – I know some shy away from historicals but THIS one is a MUST read – and it’s “lightly” historical – it occurs in the 50′s) . It is AMAZING!!! Same kind of connection that I had with Finding Home and a very modern/contemporary feel, but with her unique voice.

MichelleS July 25, 2014 at 7:09 PM

No!! Never heard of that. The series is by Victoria Danann. But Book one is free. I think there are six now. Such a good series.

Cheryl July 25, 2014 at 7:12 PM

MichelleS- is this the series by Dennee Smith or Victoria Danaan? Is it a complete series? Don’t think I can handle more CH and waiting for more books in a series! ;)

MichelleS July 25, 2014 at 7:21 PM

Cheryl, it’s the Danann series. It is not yet complete, I don’t think….but it’s not one that ends in cliff hangers. You get to hear some of the others guys stories and the whole “cast of characters” just keeps growing. I never felt like I was left hanging. I was only left wanting more of Ram. Did I mention how much I love that guy? I think he’s a close second to Jamie Fraser. I KNOW!!!! He’s that good. It’s more of a traditional paranormal series where you are happy when you read it, not left hanging, and then get excited when a new one comes out.

Lauren July 25, 2014 at 7:23 PM

J.C. Valentine’s Tapout & Knockout (The Wayward Fighters) is boxed together & FREE!!! I read the 1st book, Knockout, but the 2nd came out a month or so ago & was $3.99 so I was waiting on the price to go down. FREE!!!! I just love Jami….great BBF!!

Drea July 25, 2014 at 7:24 PM

Come Back to Me is a must read! Tears at your heart.

Amy July 25, 2014 at 8:11 PM

“…’cause he’s a &%*$#!!!!!! YES!!!”

And what word would that be, huh? :P

Jean July 25, 2014 at 8:13 PM

Thanks for that info Lauren! I just downloaded it!

Maryse July 25, 2014 at 8:15 PM

You know the word!!!!! I was SO gonna use it again, but I chickened out. :P

LOL!

Amy July 25, 2014 at 8:29 PM

LOL!! Bawk bawk bawk!!

Andee July 25, 2014 at 8:55 PM

I read Sweet Addiction after an intense read and it was perfect. It was a fast and easy read, but really good! I’d recommend when you are in between angsty books and need a “book breather”! I’m going to read Finding Home next!

Jillian Phillips July 25, 2014 at 9:09 PM

All right – I’m trying on Vixen and the Vet! I love me a good hermit! In books anyway, lol! Fingers crossed!

Tessa July 25, 2014 at 9:24 PM

Oh, didn’t notice this but Dair, Wild Side 3 by RK Lilley came out yesterday.

Fabi July 25, 2014 at 9:34 PM

Thanks Lauren. Free is always fantastic

Maryse July 25, 2014 at 10:46 PM

My husband bought me puddle jumping. Puddle jumpers? Jumping puddles? I’m almost done. It’s sweet, and actually a fast-ish read. There’s an interesting quality to it that has me enjoying it, even though It’s high school and has a young feel to it. Very PG. But there’s something about it that’s holding my attention… I like it well enough. Definitely an unconventional love story…

Kim Box Person July 26, 2014 at 3:47 AM

Come Back To Me us absolutely phenomenal and Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhh the tears!!!!!! I’m on a roll Rainfall was amazing then I read Lex and Lu which I absolutely ADORED..

Knocking on wood that my streak continues! I have Puddle Jumpers…hmmm perhaps next depending on if I want to continue with books that make me cry – a very good thing!!!

Jen C July 26, 2014 at 5:30 AM

I’ve been contemplating starting Puddle Jumpers … maybe I’ll start that one next too!

Lauren July 26, 2014 at 8:02 AM

1-clicked Trust Game yesterday afternoon & stayed up all freaking night reading….could not put it down! That hasn’t happened in a looooong time.

Tracy July 26, 2014 at 9:17 AM

Started Finding Home last night and just finished it! I don’t even know what to say. It was just beautiful and sad and beautiful again. I so sad it’s over. Excellent recommendation.

Maryse July 26, 2014 at 9:19 AM

YAY Tracy!!! :D I’m so glad you loved it like I did. I’m always looking for more “like that” one…

Cheryl July 26, 2014 at 6:53 PM

Just finished the Now series. Was enjoyable and I think you would enjoy the alpha-cop Ben, Maryse! I didn’t realize until the end, that this series was by the same author that wrote Bound and Captive (Fire on Ice series) that I had really enjoyed too. Think I’ll read her 3rd book in that series now, Edge and then I’m going to read Finding Home! ;)
