Lovely flowing story with great character development big recommendation from me!” (my review)
- Transcendence by Shay Savage <— And this recently super-saled book is still making waves, too (another one of my favorites). Donna loved it, saying: “I just finished Shay Savage’s “Transcendance” and loved it! Any recommendations as to a book with a similar feel? This one is killing me. I didn’t want the book to end as crazy as that might seem. Left me with a big smile on my face…….a feeling of “I didn’t see that coming” and a melted heart. I’m in love with a caveman!!! Yikes!!!” (here’s my book review)

- Beneath the Stain by Amy Lane <— M/M ROMANCE ALERT! LOVED LIKE CRAZY by Kandace! She says: “I just finished Amy Lane’s newest book ‘Beneath the Stain’ and I loved it from start to finish, This story is phenomenal. I can even explain how good it is. It is definitely in my top three of all time favorite MM reads. It’s full of angst and “feels”. I would find my self getting choked one paragraph and then smiling the next. The supporting characters really added a lot of depth to their story. It’s a truly special book. One you’ll always remember.“
- Make Me Forget (It’s Kind Of Personal Book 1) by Anna Brooks <— Jenny recommends this one! “Here is a new release that I REALLY enjoyed! She is a new author but she did a fantastic job!” Okay yes, this sounds like it could be angsty! “After enduring years of manipulation and an immeasurable amount of loss, Charlotte Kelly makes one last ditch effort to change her life and try to find happiness again. When she offers him the job, he’s more than interested and she’s confident she’s made the right choice…“

She no longer believes it’s possible to find a man who will be gentle with her. After seeing a kink-friendly therapist for months, the doctor makes her an illicit offer she isn’t yet smart enough to refuse: “Let me find you a good master.” <— EEEEP!!! FOR ME!!!

Following up on Lauren’s recommendation, the entire Men of Steel series (6 books) is on sale for $3.99. Oh and I immediately 1-clicked the 5th Street books…. can’t resist those fighters! Lol!
I loved Luke Stark. That series was just so fun.
I mentioned it in another comment but I so love her books I am doing it again. Lisa Kleypas’ Secrets of a Summer Night and Someone to Watch Over Me are both on sale.
Those Steel brothers absolutely crack me up. The way they talk to each other (and pretty much everyone else) had me laughing out loud.
Bev – since you love Kleypas, I am going to assume you read all of The Bridgertons by J Quinn??? And The MacGregors by P Quinn???
I really liked all of the Rock Chicks, by Kristen Ashley. The hot bunch and Fortnums, all the side characters…. just great. What’s wonderful is it is a TRUE series, with stand alones for each couple, but cameo appearances of old faves in each story. Can’t go wrong with these books. Nothing earth shattering, definitely formula books – but still worth the read. 1.99? that’s a deal –
Michelle S I’ve read a couple of the Bridgerton books years ago. I think I just read what ever my library had.
Reading Exposed by Fate, just started, but am liking it. After I rec’d Flowers from the Storm I’ve been very tempted to ‘re read it. It’s only 3.99 right now so maybe, just maybe next.https://www.abeautifulmess.com/2014/11/nutella-hot-chocolate.html
Not sure that will link but I love hot chocolate and it is made with nutella.
Hot chocolate with Nutella…O.M.G. I think that would give my stomach an orgasm.
I know I’ll sound crazy – when do I *not* sound crazy? 😛 – but I want to go up to D’Arcy Island and to the Benson Hotel and see the possibly haunted theater (all mentioned in EIT) and then I want to find out if that creepy carousel mentioned in Mudvein really exists in Mukilteo and go there, too. How fun would that be???? 😀
I read of places all the time I’d like to visit. The Rock Chick series is a good example, it is set in Denver and visit what I believe are real places.
Now scary places are a different thing. I am the biggest scaredy cat. Occasionally I think one of those walking tours of haunted places would be fun, maybe……
Broken Course (Wrecked and Ruined Series) by Aly Martinez was just released ($3.99). This is Sarah’s story (the ex-wife). I have been waiting to read this one!!
Kathy P – Thank you so much for that heads up on Broken Course! I love that series and didn’t realize the third one just came out. Just one-clicked that one! 😀
What the…did that really just…I can’t even… *stammering*
😯
What in the actual ghost-hunting f$&k just happened?!?!?!?
How did you ladies survive waiting for the next EIT book?? And how am I supposed to go to sleep now??? Arrrrrrrrrrrgh!!!!!! *pulling hair and rocking*
Rock Chick Series! I’ve just finished the Colorado mountain man series and needed some new KA.
Think I’ll do more clicking on audible for the Rock Chick audios are $1.99 each after buying the kindle copies.
Oh Amy go to he theatre *claps and jumps* I can’t come cause u know I’m a scardy cat but u will go to Inverness and look for highlanders for us!!
I can’t belive rock chick is that price I loved that series it was amazing!
Still on my pyte/sentinel series book 3 it is so good!! If u all haven’t read it yet I really really recommend it!
Ok so I’m just not correcting my autocorrect t anymore nope it can be like a game u know everytime Laura posts try to figure out the message like professor Layton!
Ha! Laura, that’s too funny. I know exactly how you feel. It’s a losing battle. Lol
Amy, what book are you on? I know the feeling, I was so grateful all the books were out and I could move on to the next.
Reading Push and my head is spinning in as many directions as the story! This is one mind-f**$k of a book!!!
Meh I shouldn’t have looked at this list since there are quite a few that look good. I already have the first 5th Street book and did not read it yet but it looks good – do I ‘need’ the rest haha. Cut Too Deep, Free to Try, Consumed, Make Me Forget and King’s Throne all ding on my radar…ugh need to not click them all *holding back 1-click finger*
Amy isn’t it getting exciting – all that angsty goodness!
Bev Flowers from the Storm I still have borrowed from the library but it’s due back Monday so I might try to read it tomorrow. Just finished Becoming Calder and I have to go onto Finding Eden though to see how this story ends.
Michelle let me know what you think of Becoming Calder and Finding Eden. I’ve been hesitant but curious.
I just saw on Dear Author A London Season by Joan Wolf is on sale for .99 and they give it a good review. I’m not really familiar with this author but think I’ll click. It may sound weird but I feel like this winter is going to be a big historical glom for me with pnr thrown in.
Laura if you are liking the Pyte series, have the new one waiting, you may want to try her contemps. Her Neighbor from Hell series is so fun and funny.
I’m not sure if this has been mentioned but it looks like all, but the new one, of RL Mathewson’s books are .99 right now.
I already have them & the Rock Chicks otherwise I’d be doing a lot of shopping, lol.
Okay… Who’s reading Nine Minutes right now?? Also, did y’all see that Tiffany Reisz, Original Sinners Book 1, is bargain priced at $1.99 right now??!
Among the Echoes is .99, too.
That’s why I gave it a go bev cause I read all the neighbours from hell series and loved it!! I’m still on book 3 I noticed she also has another series have u read that one?
Cheryl and Michelle, I had just finished Lying Season last night when I had my little freakout. I started On Demon Wings this morning ’cause there was no way I was waiting or squirreling after how LS ended!! Hubby has been busy golfing and doing other stuff today, so I had alllllllll day to read…and I just finished ODW!! Can’t remember the last book I read in (almost) one sitting. These books are killing me and it’s so FUN!!!!
Joy, is that the one set in the 1970’s where she is kidnapped by someone in an MC?
Amy 15% into ODW was my wtf moment – had no idea and in the next book you finally get Dex’s response. I remember totally devouring basically every book from Lying Season on – I think the series just really picked up and of course I liked the romance level more and the angst factor 🙂
Bev I will let you know about them when I finish. I will comment on them together because you kinda have to but I’ve been nonstop reading Finding Eden.
Amy and Michelle, I felt the same. The books angst, romance and overall story just grows exponentially with each book. There was no way I could squirrel from them after Lying Season. Loved them and sad that it is over!
About 80% in Push and still thinking how the hell is this going to end/resolve? Is it really how it appears?! Mindf&*ck with a capital M!! 🙂
Laura I’d have to look but I know I haven’t read the historical yet, going into the winter glom lol. Also, one about writers that I read book 2 but not the first. Ill get to it some time. She has one about childhood best friends that grow up to be partners as paramedics that I liked a lot.
Im almost done with the Tessa Bailey book and then onto Wild Fire a sequel novella, surprise find for me, to Wild Burn. Can. Not. Wait. Historical FTW.
Amy… Yes, it is!!! I just finished it, need to talk about it with someone!!!
Cheryl…. Are you finished with Push yet, I’m ready to start Pull now, not sure I’m going to like the ending of these books!!!
I haven’t reach truce either bev I don’t think I’d like her doing historical, I also haven’t read the paramedic one what’s this one?!
Bev just checked her website and the 5th NFH book is out December 27th !!! I thought she was done with it!!
Katht P, Thanks for the info on Broken Course! I’ve been dying for Sarah’s story too!
And thanks for the R.L. Matthewson sales…..I immediately 1-clicked the Pyte series… looks great!
Went completely off my TBR list and am reading Rules of Protection by Alison Bliss….so far so good! She is a sassy wiseass that makes me laugh….just what I needed after Nocte, Push, and Pull!
I went off my TBR list too and read Measure of Devotion, the free m/m romance Fabi recommended a few days ago. Fabi – you didn’t tell me it was part of a trilogy!!! I thought it was going to wrap up and end in a HEA!!! So I heard master/slave and thought kinky BDSM – but no no no. It’s LITERALLY master slave. Some alternate world where slaves are still the norm. And women don’t go to college. And they use gas lamps and ride carriages! But it’s not in our past. So there’s a lot of social commentary embedded in the story. Did you read book 2, Fabi?
I read book one in Pyte / Sentinel series back in Sept 2012, but only book one. I wonder if the others just weren’t out yet and then I forgot about it?? because I seem to remember liking it. May just have to check out book 2 and see if it stirs up some memories. I loved the author’s writing style for her Neighbors from Hell series, so I have high hopes.
MichelleS if you read the author’s note you know it was meant as a stand alone, single book. Then she was talked into continuing the story. It’s definitely not bdsm or even particularly graphic in the sex scenes. Just a heart wrenching romance. It’s the closest I’ve come to crying in a long time.
I read a couple of other books after I finished that one. But I couldn’t stop thinking about it. So yesterday I bit the bullet and bought the trilogy. I’m reading it now. It’s loanable so if you care to read it and can wait, I can loan it to you through Kindle when I finish book 2 and 3.
Laura Sudden Response is the title of the one. And YAY!! For the NFH release, I didn’t know there would be more either.
Jean I’m not sure about Broken Course because of who it is about, lol.
I have a few books I’m eyeing as my Sunday read. Decisions.
Bev, done with Finding Eden (and Becoming Calder) – I liked them and they definitely had a lot of ‘feels’ going on but I would not rate them as high as what most reviews on amazon are saying (ie five* blown away…). I gave the first 3.75* and the second 3.5*. The actual story was amazing and captivating (very unique environment where characters meet) but it lost a lot for me since it felt like the author figured out the storyline/love story and then inserted the characters. The two books do not touch Archer’s Voice so if you haven’t read that yet, that’s the best Mia Sheridan book in the series for me hands down.
I started Flowers from the Storm and like it a lot so far – it’s just the subgenre switch I need.
Also Safe and Sound by Lindy Zart is FREE right now.
Thanks Michelle, I’ll keep them on my radar. I’ve seen were reviewers have mentioned that 3 star reads are looked at as a bad review. I think I’ve thought that before but now realize that’s the majority of my reads, probably, and are good solid reads. I have become slightly suspicious when a new book comes out and everyone 5 or 4 stars it.
Going to sit down and read very soon. I’m so tempted to do a re-read of Flowers. Only read it once & such a long time since I’ve done a re-read of any book.
Will see were the mood takes me I guess.
Crossing my fingers it stays good for you
Well I guess I have the preface rating for me then, 3* is an average read for me – enjoyable and entertaining. Most of my reads are between 3 and 4*. 4* and above for me is where the book excelled in one or two areas – writing, character development, plot, etc. and went above just being an entertaining read all the way to breathless goosebumps if you will with a 5* read. So 3* is just average but for me and anything below that is on the bad side of a review for me. I think I notice this now too, that if people just like a book it gets a 4 or 5* rating but for me (I actually catalog my read books and reviews) that wouldn’t be enough to differentiate good, great, etc. What do others use as criteria for their ratings? Curious now…
I just noticed Flowers from the Storm is over 500 pages (kindle only had locations) so hope I can power through most of it today…back to reading then 🙂
I agree with both of you on the starring system. 3 stars isn’t a bad book for me either. It’s a solid, no major problems read that I enjoyed. The ones I call 4 star went above and beyond in some area. They are ones I like to recommend and occassionally ‘re-read. I end up with only a very few 5* books at the end of the year. Those are the ones that stay with me forever. I tend to use decimals like Maryse does. I end up with 3.5 or 3.75 sometimes.
🙂
Anything under 3 stars was lacking somehow. A one star is something I hated. And then there’s the dnf right?
Thanks bev I actually just read one of her other books today lol it was sweet it was humble heart was good! I think I’m going to try the emt one then go on to the 4th pyte book cause it’s not who i was hopeing the 4th was going to be about
Joy, I finished Push. Definitely a WTF book. For some reason, I didn’t feel like rushing into Pull. I think my mind needed something light and smexy. I started reading Falling Down by Anne Mercier. A good rockstar read with minimal angst. No cliffhanger but there will be a book 2 out next month. Enjoyable, smexy read!! 🙂
Now, I guess I’ll start Pull. Just have no idea how this story will play out…
I’m reading Flowers I feel like a comfort type, historical is for me, but also a shake up to my reading. Hopefully the little break from contemp will allow me to come back and power through my kindle unlimited books before my trial is up.
Hey Maryse! One of my favs is on sale for $0.99! You have to check out Beautifully Done! Love this book!
So far so enjoying my ‘re-read. I forgot how long it is, lol.
Bev, slow going for me with this read – dense in sections and language takes a little adjustment but it’s so heartbreakingly beautiful! I’m stopping to watch Walking Dead in a bit but then right back to it. I might be crowning you queen of historical romance since your recs have been fabulous so far 😀
Michelle, why thank you. Now watch the next one I rec you will be “what is she thinking?”
So I do not listen to books but love to hear the sample narration. Flowers from the Storm is narrated by Nicholas Boulton and really like his voice. Then went for a walk and put on an old DBSA podcast and it was an interview with a voice actor. They were talking of male voiced sex scenes and how the interviewer is uncomfortable with it but wanted to try a Kinsale narrated by Boulton. She loves his voice. I’ve never listened to a whole book and so never thought if it would make me uncomfortable or not.
Bev, I’ve listened to many books by male vouce actors including the entire bdb series. The truth is that I once you’re “into” the story you don’t think about the narration anymore. If it’s a good actor, it doesn’t matter who it is because your focus is on the story. Afterwards you might look for more books narrated by the same person because they did such a superb job taking you into the story. But, for me, it never really mattered if the narrator was male or female as long they were good actors.
Fabi sometime I’ll have to try a whole book. On my ipod as on my kindle I find myself reading with them, lol.
Glad I’m doing the re-read. I love when a book just fits your mood. I am horrible with recall of little moments and details….well big moments too.
So all these moments I forgot like when he is combing his hair just grab my heart. Also, sort of forgot what it was like to *be* Christian. How unbelievably well she wrote that.
Did remember how much I like his use of the name Maddygirl.
Bev, I can’t listen to a book if I’m anywhere I can read. Reading always wins out. I listen when I’m driving. I usually have two books going at once. One I’m reading and one I’m listening to. Although with Kindle/Audible Whyspersync technology it’s possible to switch between reading and listening to a single book.
I got into the habit when I had a long commute and got tired of the radio morning shows. Now it’s a hard habit to break. I’ve been relistening to the bdb series lately. I’m like you and don’t remember the little details in books and sometimes even the bigger ones slip my memory. The more back to back books I read, the more that happens. It’s like I have a finite memory slot for story details. haha
Yeah reading always wins out for me as well – I comprehend more seeing words on a page.
I was thinking with our talk about rating systems, that at the end of the year we should share our 4.5 or 5 star reads like Maryse does with her best books of the year. Maryse if you read this, that would be a fun post to add so we could see everyone’s standout reads for the year. Like Fabi mentioned, if I end up with 10 5 star reads that’s a good year for me. It would be interesting to see what others deam the best of the best.
Bev, I hope Christian ‘improves’ somehow – how can they work out? This story definitely went in a direction I wasn’t prepared for but in a good way 🙂
That would be a great end of year thread Michelle. A Christmas present between all of us. Sharing our 5* reads of the year. We could do like Goodreads does and limit the list to books published in 2014 and maybe also limit the list to no more than 12 each in case some of us have really long lists of 5* reads.
Maryse, what do think?
I love the idea of a group 5-Star share. Many of mine would be similar to Maryse – but there are a few I love that she either didn’t read or weren’t as big a thrill for her (like the Wild Side series or the Fae Chronicles). Everyone could just post their top 5 or top 10 in a list form on the blog!!! Yay. I’d print that one out.
I decided to go with the Pyte Sentinel series, because I know I like the author and after I re-skimmed book one I remembered that I really liked it so I went for book two. It’s a good PNR fix. Feisty stubborn girl, fated mates, grumpy guy…. my kind of thing.
Hey guys! Whoever recommended Rules of Protection…. Thank you!!! I am loving this book! Sooooo good! It kinda has a KA feel to it and the heroine totally reminds me of “our Amy”…..snarky, sarcastic, sassy, and tons of sexual innuendo!!!! Loving it!
The list would be fun. My only difficulties would be remembering what I read this year, keeping it to a certain pub date, and I don’t really star rate my books, lol. Like Deeper I think came out in 2013 , I think, but def one of my favorites this year.
I started in June to write down what I read for the first time. My rules to myself is I can’t count DNF or books I skimmed. Hoping it will give me a rough estimate of how many I’ve read.
I’ll have to buy a gift card for myself for after I read everyone’s lists.
Aw, Jean… *blushing* What a sweet thing to see first thing in the morning!
*big squeezy hug*
If I made a list of my 5-star books that was limited to ten but wasn’t limited to this year, half of that list would be taken up by Colleen Hoover’s books. Just sayin’. 😉
Just clicked on the first military book Maryse put up and apparently bought it awhile ago. Seriously need to read through my tbr. I love all the choice but ssometimes think it would be fun to start from a blank slate again.
Laura & MichelleS I have the new pyte book and may go with that next. I may be a little lost. I thought it was going to be about the sister and the prisoner.
Hmm well maybe we could do your top 10 and 5 limited to 2014 publication. I read a lot not published in the same year and I do not even know if I would have 10 5 star reads if we stuck to same year. It would be a great post either way especially since we all like different subgenres too – my list with have a bunch of pnr 🙂
Jean Rules of Protection I have downloaded already so I’ve moved it up my list – sounds good!
So many good books. Rock Chick series is really good. The 5th Street Series is also very good. I just started the KC Lynn – military series .,.. has me intrigued. The Femme Fatale series sounds quite good. Thanks again Maryse… this soo helps!
Whoa – I just finished Pull. Have been waiting like 6 months for this book. The book wasn’t as intense as Push and up until 97% I had no idea where the book would end. BUT what an ending. I still can’t believe it … my head is spinning… and I have a feeling that this book will stay in my head for a very long time.
Even though I still think Push was the better one I HIGHLY recommend Pull.
Is it pathetic that I wish someone would just tell me what happens in PULL so I don’t have to read it? I am intrigued enough after PUSH to want to know if he ends up a good guy or a bad guy or What-the-bleep-uh-dee-bleep happens…. but I just don’t have the energy or desire to READ it. Pathetic, I know. Fabi – did you read it? Maybe you can email me the outcome? Or is there a discussion thread on this site?
I’m in “unexcited” mode right now. Have a bunch of TBRs that are continuations of series, etc. Just going to keep going with Pyte Sentinel I think for tonight.
My TBRs include:
– last one in EIT series (and finish the one before that because I abandoned it)
– the last two in New Species series (#12 and 13) (haven’t finished Darkness)
– finish Covenant?
– Forever, Interrupted (because Maryse raved about it)
– Book 3 Spiral of Bliss
– Finish Reed Brothers?
– Beyond Series #5
See what I mean? So many good ones to choose from. I can’t make a decision, and while a bunch sound good, I am in the mood for something different.
Michelle S I was sort of in the same way the last week or so. I have so many books that looks really good or reading good books …….but I could not seem to keep my attention on them.
Its why I decided to do a re-read and I’m loving it. I’m happy to immerse myself in a historical again. I totally rec it if you haven’t read it.
Maryse just posted her current read and it looks like it left a lot with a book hangover.
I think I’m doing the pyte one next & then my ku borrowes.
Hope you find a good one.:-)
MichelleS, from your list I can say this…you know how much I love the Covenant series, and I am in the middle of the EIT series which I haven’t squirreled from since finishing Dead Sky Morning…that’s how much I’m loving it! 😀
BUT…Forever, Interrupted was phenomenal. I didn’t think I would feel too much for Ben since we know what happens to him from the start, but with the opportune timing of the “flashbacks” of their relationship with the present events, I fell in love with him while my heart simultaneously broke because of what was going on in the present. *clutching chest*
And heed Maryse’s warning about the last line. DON’T read it ahead of time. Just don’t. You need the full impact of it. Okay, that’s the end of my two cents. 😉
Amy – I love Covenant series – I just need some action between the sheets in between books! The “fade to black” sex scenes leave me wanting more!! But everything else about that series is perfect.
So you’re recommending Forever, Interrupted? I just don’t want sad or angsty right now. Not ready….. won’t read last line. I never do that.
You’re loving Dex? He’s so cute and sexy and broken and not perfect – the ultimate book boyfriend. I love that he is so flawed. And I like that she has some junk in her trunk. I just love them as a couple.
Sent you an email MichelleS
I’m 35% in. Parts just hurt my heart. Like I said I forgot how long it is, I feel like I’m immersed then look and not even to page 200. But I’m loving it. And loving that I am.
Ok so I have lost track what is everyone reading?
“Fade to black” sucks donkey a$$…but if the book is great then I don’t mind it. 😉 So I understand needing a book with some lovin’ to fill…er…that need. *giggle*
If you don’t want sad right now then you might want to skip FI. It seriously is a wonderful book but it will make your heart hurt. No angst in the last Covenant book, more like just “WTF is going to happen.” The ending…daaaaang. Wasn’t expecting that. As for the other books, I haven’t read them so I can’t say…
Dex. *sigh* I knew there had to be some reasons for his actions, but after reading the Dex files things make perfect sense. I love Dex even more now, especially since starting Into the Hollow. And I love that Perry has some curves on her, too. 😉
Hey guys, when are we going to start Abduction? Love, in Spanish comes out tomorrow. I want it. But I don’t know if I want it right now. I should be finished with my current book by tomorrow.
*gasp* Love, In Spanish?? Tomorrow????
*squealing and jumping*
But I’m having fun with Dex right now!! *stamps foot* Thanks a lot, Karina Halle!!! 😛
One of Fabi’s YA Dystopian recs from that super list she posted a while back is free right now, The Darkest Minds by Alexandra Bracken.
Fabi, the book I’m on now is a long and slower read, Flowers from the Storm, so do you want to say Friday to start Abduction and make it a weekend read? I forget who wanted to join in too – Jean?
Bev, I’m still loving this book but it’s just going to take me a bit to get through it – I’m dying to see where it goes!
I’ll look that free one up. I think Take is on sale which is nice since I have take. I listened to another ppodcast and they start talking about Kinsale, lol. Seize the Heart is now mine. Historical trapped on island with grumpy hero, so sounds fun.
It is a slower read for me too. At 50% and stayed up way to late reading it. I just love this part I stopped on.
“No,” he said unexpectedly. He turned and held his hand to her, palm upward, empty, a simple masculine offering. “Maddygirl. With…me.”
I need coffee coffee coffee. I meant to say I have Try already, so nice to be able to buy Take.
Does any one know if Take is the conclusion?
Friday sounds great Michelle. I have many, many I can read ’till then.
Just finished the Measure of Devotion trilogy this morning. Wow
Bev, I believe Take is the conclusion to Try. Those books are awesome! One of my few 5 stars for the year.
Bev, my library only has four Kinsale (in ebook at least): FFTS, The Shadow and the Star, Lessons in French and My Sweet Folly. Have you read any of them?
Fabi, sounds good then to start Abduction Friday and by then I know I will have my other reads finished.
I could probably do Abduction this weekend….so squirrelly with all these books and now I want to read Love In English which I’ve been putting off for some reason! Try and Take….recommended to me because I haven’t attempted M/M genre yet and told these would be a great start for me. I think I need to go for it!
Michelle, FFTS is the only Kinsale book I’ve read. I have Lessons in French on nook and a pb of her book Shadowheart. This time I’m keeping on with her books. This is one of the podcast I listen to and just randomly selected the ep & they touch on Kinsale a bit. https://smartbitchestrashybooks.com/podcast/104-another-interview-with-kat-mayo/
Not sure if any one listens to podcast but anyway.
Jean, Try & Take are two more unreads we have in common. If you decide to read any of the three after Abduction let me know. It might push me to read one of them. They do sound so good.
Jean, Try and Take are amazing books. But if you want to try m/m for the first time with less graphic sex scenes Measure of Devotion is really good. It’s free, a romance, a fictional world and m/m is just a matter of fact in the story instead of being a big deal or the main point. There are sex scenes but not as explicit as you’ll find in Try or Dangerously Happy.
I can loan Try out through Kindle if anyone wants it.
I’m feeling so squirrely about my next read. I have so many on my list. I don’t know if I want one big book or several small ones to fill in the time between now and Friday.
Thanks for that info Fabi! I just downloaded Measure of Devotion! I started Love in English at lunch and I’m hooked already! Graphic sex scenes don’t bother me…lol…. I did read After and that was pretty graphic and brutal at times!
Bev, I’ll let you know when I attempt Try and Take…. it would be nice to have someone to read along with!
I’d like that Jean. Can’t wait to hear what you think of Love in English. The set up for it, if I’m correct in what it is, has me nervous. Not a trope I’m always easy with.
Cold day and in a bit am going to sit down with a cup of hot chocolate, biscotti, and book.
Jean, you’re reading Love, In English?!?!?!? YAY!!!!! 😀 It had my gut all twisted up and my heart aching while at the same time putting me in a love fog. I wanted a HEA for them but really didn’t know which way it would go…which is what I *love* in a book!!
Oh boy Amy, sounds like I’m in for a ride!
