This new Beautiful Disaster book cover is absolutely GORGEOUS! To me, it symbolizes Travis and Abby’s love story, perfectly. The beautiful butterfly, caught in a jar. But think about… exactly who is the butterfly in the jar? You’d almost think it would be Abby, but I say it’s Travis. Or both of them, each in their own way. Which is why this book blew me away.
Author Jamie McGuire says:
Beautiful Disaster’s paperback edition will be available for purchase in just a few days! You will definitely notice something new about it. This news may be a relief to some, and disheartening to others. We all know BD’s cover has been nothing less than controversial. I loved it, and I know many of you did, too. But for those that just couldn’t bring themselves to buy it based on that eye-catching tongue…I present to you…Beautiful Disaster’s brand new cover, courtesy of Justin McClure.tv. I hope you love it as much as I do!
We (and by we I mean me and the JustinMcClure.tv team) knew that if we weren’t going to try to replicate or soften the original cover…we would have to do go a completely different direction. We just went back and forth a lot on ideas, and Justin thought the butterfly in the jar with a sense of unknown beyond the light really brings the message of the book across. I agreed. 🙂
Here are some tidbits about the upcoming release of this print version:
- Designed by Justin McClure
- It will hopefully be available for order by this Friday November 4th, 2011 (for now it’s still linking to the e-book version, but as soon as the print version is up, I’ll update it.)
- It will be available at first, via Amazon and directly on the author’s ebook store.
- When a fan stated she was partial to the first cover, Jamie agreed and said: “Jennifer, I am, too, but if the original could be replaced with the best possible cover, I feel this one is it!” – I wholeheartedly agree. While I was one of those that liked the original book cover just fine, everything about this cover intrigues me… pulls me in. I just know I’m in for something big with this one.
- and LOOK!!! Looooooook!! *squeeeeeeeeee* It’s me! On the back of the cover. I am so honored. I had NO idea!! I promise, you guys!! We all know I stumbled into this book quite a few months ago, completely by accident and then I just went crazy over it. This is just icing on my crazy cake!!! Tee heeeee!!!

Thanks Shellee!!
Maryse. Wow!!!! It’s YOU on the new cover!! That’s soooo cooool! Congratulations!!!
Oh, btw, I just bought the book tonight, on my iPad 2 on the iBook for $ 3.99!!
(Cheaper than Amazon!!)
The reason I’m letting you know, it’s because I read quite a few other bloggers saying only “Kindle” sold it in ebook format. NO MORE! iPad users…all J. McGuire books are there!! Including BD with new “Butterfly” cover…
Maryse, if you can, pass the word about BD being on iBooks (and cheaper than Amazon). A lot of people dont know that.
Thank you, my fellow book addict friend…heeheheee.

Is it really coming out on paperback? I can’t find it anywhere and I’ve been dying to read it! I know I’m way behind the times, but I don’t have an iPad, Nook or home computer, so I buy all my books. Honestly, I think I just love actual books so much that that’s why I haven’t invested in anything electronic. Please let me know if you know if this is ever going to come out on paperback. -Thank you! 🙂
Yep!! It’s out right now (in fact I just received three copies!!). Just click on that link or the book cover (above) and it will bring you to Amazon and you can choose “paperback” and order it!! (I don’t think it’s available in the larger brick and mortar book stores as of yet, but Amazon has ’em.
I hope that helps 🙂
