Good morning! What a great start to the week!

Nay July 17, 2017 at 8:18 AM

Good morning!! Happy, happy Monday!! I’m out of my editing cave and ready to start reading again!!

Leslie M July 17, 2017 at 8:25 AM

Good morning!! :)

Beautiful Mistake – MINE!!!

I just started my “fave of Maryse’s” which I picked Maybe in Another Life (as also rec’d by R.). I am listening to it as I clean my dads apartment. Only a few chapters in and it seems interesting….but it BETTER NOT be a death book!!!! I must admit, I am a little afraid.

What’s everybody reading after The Unrequited?

R. Renee July 17, 2017 at 8:26 AM

You’re safe, Leslie. MIAL is sweet and inspirational.

R. Renee July 17, 2017 at 8:27 AM

And I’m going back and forth between Damaged Like Us and Riven. For writing motivation, Riven’s in the lead.

Leslie M July 17, 2017 at 12:02 PM

Hmmm….R., I love you and all, but I am not sure I trust your assessment of “sweet and inspirational”.

R. Renee July 17, 2017 at 12:04 PM

Maybe I should add compared to her other books…

Amy July 17, 2017 at 12:57 PM

Okay, I’m reading a 2017 click next and I had a few set aside to pick from, but now…NOW I am dying to read The Darkest Sunrise.

Maryse, you just had to use my catnip words for TDS…SQUIRREL!!! Wait, after I finish Girls on Fire. That one is just straight up messin’ with me. :|

Amy July 17, 2017 at 1:01 PM

Maybe in Another Life was GREAT. I loved how it went back and forth between the two “lives” so we could see how things played out with each character simultaneously.

And the ending(s)…perfection. :D

Tessa July 17, 2017 at 1:11 PM

You know, to date, I still have not read a TDS book? I don’t know why but the blurbs don’t seem to appeal to me.

I’m reading American Queen. Who has read this? I got it as a lend through booklending and so far, I’m kind of scared. lol

Cheryl July 17, 2017 at 1:20 PM

I don’t know what I want to read after Unrequited. Maybe something funny- like the Cocky Client or The Big Mistake. I do want to read TDS, but think I’ll wait for book 2.

Anyone read the new Tarryn Fisher book?

Off to sanding the kitchen cabinets… maybe I should listen to my next book.

Jean July 17, 2017 at 2:15 PM

Amy, read The Darkest Sunrise! I’m almost done and devoured it in less than 24 hours!!

Cheryl, did you read Sustained by Emma Chase? That book has really stuck with me….so funny….and whenever anyone is looking for a change, I keep suggesting that one!

Jean July 17, 2017 at 2:16 PM

I’m curious to know if anyone has read the new Tarryn Fisher book too….please give us feedback if you have!

Robyn July 17, 2017 at 3:04 PM

After Unrequited I’m still desensitizing and reading Black and Green the new Academy book by C L Stone.

I’m starting TDS next! I have to get to it before The Broken Puppet comes out tomorrow or all bets are off!

bev July 17, 2017 at 3:14 PM

Cheryl, if you do audio you should totally give Aristotle and Dante a shot. Lin Manuel Miranda does such a great job and beautifully written.

Nay July 17, 2017 at 3:17 PM

Amy said–”Maybe in Another Life was GREAT. I loved how it went back and forth between the two “lives” so we could see how things played out with each character simultaneously.”

I LOVE books like that! So happy that MIAL is my pick-for-me book this month!!

Cheryl July 17, 2017 at 6:58 PM

Jean, I have read Sustained. Loved it! I have so many highlighted parts of that book- especially what the kids said.

Bev, when I commented about an audio book, I was waiting for you to rec Aristotle and Dante. I do love Lin Manuel Miranda. ;)

Leslie M, I think you’ll be happy with MIAL. I liked it, but it wasn’t my favorite TJR book.

bev July 17, 2017 at 7:28 PM

CHERYL CHERYL CHERYL !!!!!!!

YOU ARE MY FAVORITE!

I am obsessed. I do not know how often I have listened to Hamilton cast album. Gah.

My favorite!

Tessa July 17, 2017 at 9:52 PM

Another thing I have that I haven’t listened to: The Hamilton Cast album. I adore musicals, so I’ve no idea why I haven’t listened to that yet.

bev July 17, 2017 at 10:39 PM

Tessa, do it. I first listened to it on a wall doing errands from the first song straight to the last. It is not over hyped.
It tells such a great story. I know it is all history but I still went through all the emotions.
I was all pumped up, all yes Work, laughed, swooned, all..
Oh no he didn’t, and one little part broke my heart, yes even my eyes got damp.
I’ve listened to it a few times and keep finding something new.
The lyrics and delivery are great.

To see it, especially with this cast…gah.
Though it sounds like it was sold out all the time and insane $$$.

Cheryl July 17, 2017 at 11:36 PM

Well Bev, that just made my day!!

Tessa and Bev- it’s a great cast album and whenever we were in the car my daughter and I would sing along to it. We also watched a “bootleg” video of the entire performance. An amazing musical. My family tried daily to win tickets thru the show lottery. Sadly, we never did.

bev July 18, 2017 at 11:47 AM

A bootleg, I love that. I guess they filmed professionally before the original cast left they just need to release it. Yeah, I’m buying that when it happens.
I hope driving down the street you ladies were windows down music up yelling…… Lafayette!

Julie o July 18, 2017 at 8:52 PM

Tessa
I’ve read American Queen and loved it. Don’t be scared. Really good. I have American Prince ready to roll on my kindle soon. Enjoy!
And to all of you who read Sustained I am there with you. Too bad we can’t send out an email and make it mandatory reading bc it was so enjoyable.

Tessa July 18, 2017 at 10:58 PM

I got Sustained from the library! I was about to read it, but To Hate Adam Connor is on my Kindle from KU, and OMG, I forgot how much the first one pleased me. This has me smiling wide, laughing, just all sorts of great feels.

Julie, my big issue is my email. A lot of gaming accounts are linked to it, and that makes it a prime target. I know a lot of people who got hacked because they gave posted their gaming email publicly. In case anyone is wondering, it’s a multi-million dollar scam, so I’d rather not lose my accounts to one of them. :( I don’t think anyone here will, but some evil person who scans for emails might. *frowns* Stupid evil people.

Bardee July 19, 2017 at 4:34 AM

I just finished The Darkest Sunrise….eeeeekkkk…what an emotional roller coaster in the best of ways! So so good…How am I gonna wait 8 days to read The Brightest Sunset?!?!

Maryse July 20, 2017 at 9:34 PM

Bardee!!! I LOVED IT!!!!! DYING for the next one!!! :D !!!!

yes. Lots of exclamation points but they’re warranted. ;)
