<—- SQUEEE!!!! You know which one I’m reading next. ;)

In fact… Toski just said:

Toski: I finished last night. OMG. I loved. Logan is just as good as Garrett So funny! Laughed my butt off

Maryse: AND THAT is what I want to do. LAUGH!! YAY ME!!   *happy dance*

However… there are more. MANY more that look awesome, too, and I’m finally done the list. I think. ;) Of course if you find some that I missed I’ll be adding throughout the day, but I think with over 100 new releases today, there are plenty to choose from.

BREAKING NEWS UPDATE!!! This one just went on super-sale!! Sweet Filthy Boy (Wild Seasons Book 1) by Christina Lauren (over 400 pages at a rock bottom price) and SO MANY in our crew LOVED it. Marina says: “Just finished Sweet Filthy Boy and it was AMAZING. I’m just so sad it’s over. I was in a major book slump for weeks, couldnt get swept away and this book did it for me. It’s just sooooooooo good! I can’t touch anything right now bcuz I’m mourning the end and I miss the characters already…

For me? I’m especially intrigued by these books that have blurbs making me twitchy: Of course, The Mistake is next for me (since I loved “The Deal” so much!!), and now, Bad Romeo and Broken Juliet are making me excited, ’cause I’m hearing that the “feel” is like “The Deal“. PERFECT! Also, The Virgin Romance Novelist is absolutely one of the next one’s I’m reading ’cause I hear it’s laugh-out-loud funny, and my bff INSISTS!! Black Iris (’cause OMG the end of that blurb made my eyes bug out. She’s gonna show them ALL!!!), and Carter Reed (sounds MAFIA-scary amazing!!) and Discovering April is calling me… (she’s lives the perfect life, but when it all comes crashing down, she befriends her reclusive neighbor? That has a secret…)

Which book are you starting next?

P.S. Let me know if I’m missing any or if you loved any (from this list or elsewhere).

I was sooooo excited to see The Mistake on my kindle this morning! Yay!!!! It was great that we didn’t have to wait long for the second book!

Been wanting Bad Romeo and heard there was a cliffhanger so now that the 2nd book is out, I can move onto that series…. I need to read Carter Reed based on everyone’s reactions. And I wish Overruled wasn’t so much money… that looks good!!!

Pucked!!!!!! I WANT IT!!!!

Okay, scrolling back up to see what other goodies there are!

bev April 28, 2015 at 10:56 AM

I have an hour before work so going to start The Mistake.

Jean, I agree about the price for Overruled. I just can’t though sounds great. Just read a v positive review. Has hero groveling, which I love. But I never finished the Tangled series.
Oh, have also heard good buzz around Pucked. I think I have a novella by her. They are teachers or librarians. Need to start Bad Romeo also.

bev April 28, 2015 at 11:01 AM

Twilight meets Elenor and Park? I’m not sure what to think, lol.
Maryse read Eleanor & Park.

Jean April 28, 2015 at 11:14 AM

I never finished the Tangled series either (only read the first book)!

Twilight meets E&P?….hmmmmm….intriguing…..

I hope our expectations aren’t too high for The Mistake because I would hate to be disappointed!

Maryse April 28, 2015 at 11:42 AM

Maryse April 28, 2015 at 11:43 AM

Jean I hear that “The Mistake” is even better. TWO have told me that…

Tessa April 28, 2015 at 11:55 AM

I finally am reading The Deal with everyone praising it. I’m glad I did too. I haven’t stopped laughing. *grins*

I finished Empathy. I liked it, especially (ironically) the tiny burst of humor. However, after a few scary ones, this one didn’t have me freaking out. *shrugs* I did get Desolation, because Ryan… yeah.

bev April 28, 2015 at 11:56 AM

Maryse, sorry that sounded bossy, lol.

Grace is adorable. Romona, not so much.
But what is with all the *cough cough* pictures?
The “enjoying the pot scene” lol.

Maryse April 28, 2015 at 12:02 PM

LOL bossy is fun! We all know my book-dom disappeared, ;)

Fabi April 28, 2015 at 1:29 PM

Bad Romeo is very high on my tbr, but I’m trying to wait for the whole series. Really hate CHs.

The Mistake – first paragraph – ha! So great. This is going to be a doozy of a read. I didn’t even hesitate, I simply put my other books aside and jumped into this one.

Jean April 28, 2015 at 1:34 PM

Thanks for that feedback Mindi! Bad Romeo is high on my list!

Fabi, I just need to finish Asa (which I’m trying to do at work) and then I can jump right into The Mistake! I’m excited based on your initial reaction to the first paragraph!

The Mistake is AWESOME and I’m not even that far into it!!!!!

Anne April 28, 2015 at 5:40 PM

Jean isn’t Logan amazing?? Love him! Grace is also great!

Anne April 28, 2015 at 5:41 PM

Tessa you totally should! Both books are amazing! They are on my top 10 of 2015 for sure :D

Cheryl April 28, 2015 at 5:50 PM

Squirreled from the Fall Away series and started reading The Binge after reading the sample(which seemed to be better written then the rest of the book). When I read the blurb it made me think of After I Do. Unfortunately, the writing is choppy and the H/h are annoying with their schizo feelings that change from I love you and want to make this work to you’re sh*t and I hate you from literally one sentence to the next over and over and over again! I’m at 75% and was tempted to not finish but my curiosity at where this was going won over. We’ll see…then it’s either The Mistake or Kissing Madeline or The Reckoning next.

Tessa April 28, 2015 at 6:18 PM

Anne, I bought The Mistake. I already adore Logan just based on The Deal. I’m at 92% of The Deal and absolutely love it. It has such great writing with such humor. I admit, though, I really like Dean. He has me curious.

Tessa April 28, 2015 at 6:51 PM

Alright, and that was absolutely awesome. *grins* Yes, reading The Mistake right away. I should have read The Deal sooner, but oh, I’m glad I just got to read that.

Jean April 28, 2015 at 6:52 PM

Anne, Logan and Grace are both amazing and this author really knows how to write a book! Can’t put it down! I love all the characters! And it’s just great when a second book in a series lives up to our expectations!!!

Amy April 28, 2015 at 7:01 PM

I can’t believe how many books I’m going to be one-clicking. I can’t remember which book I read recently that said it, but she said she was going to be a one-click whore or something like that…um, I think that would be a fitting label for me. :P

GAH! Does Broken Juliet have a CH as well?!? I have been *dying* to read Bad Romeo but have held off because I heard there was a CH…I don’t wanna have to wait for the next one now too!!! Does anyone know for sure yet? Anyone??

MichelleS April 28, 2015 at 7:18 PM

I needed a break from all drama… so I picked Matrix of Destiny #1 for my next read. Michelle posted the bargain price for books 2 and 3 in one of her posts. It is so dang funny I am dying laughing!! It’s just what I needed. So much fun. I mean seriously? A space-time traveler hot hot guy in boots and a cape comes waltzing in to be your “protector”? They’ve been to the mall (hilarious) and McDonalds and the airport – and I am in stitches. Just what the doctor ordered. Thank you, Fabi, for talking me into it a while back.

Amy April 28, 2015 at 7:18 PM

Okay, it’s been quiet here the last couple of days sooooo…ROLL CALL!! What’s everyone reading right now? I’m either starting The Mistake tonight or Bad Romeo and then Broken Juliet. Stupid tempting CH’s. Although The Beginning of Never is sounding good too…how can it not when compared to E&P and Twilight. Sidenote: MARYSE!!! Read E&P already!!!!

I read Degradation then Separation and had fun with them, but I have to take a break before Reparation ’cause I’m gonna tw@t-punt her if I hear games or liar from Tate one more time. She’s a-p!ssing me off.

Amy April 28, 2015 at 7:22 PM

MichelleS, I’m making a note of that one!

Deborah April 28, 2015 at 7:33 PM

Amy………Broken Juliet does not have a cliffhanger……in the blurb she says it’s the stunning conclusion to their story…..there is 3rd book though and I believe it’s about Ethans sister……….I started freaking out too because I’m reading broken Juliet next……so I just had to look that up;)

Anne April 28, 2015 at 7:36 PM

Tessa: So happy you liked The Deal!! You are going to LOVE The Mistake! I am so curious about Dean too! I am so happy his book is next!

Jean: I agree! I am always nervous about a second book in a series not living up to expectations but this one exceeded them!

Cheryl April 28, 2015 at 7:41 PM

I’m reading Kissing Madeline, then I plan to read The Mistake. Then back to The Fall Away series.

Amy, the blurb for Broken Juliet says it’s “the final chapter in the Bad Romeo duet.” I want to read them too. I agree Tate needs a good tw@t-punch, but then again Jameson is “Satan.” ;)

Need to put E&P on my tbr list. Maybe I’ll buddy read it with Maryse. *snicker*

Anne April 28, 2015 at 7:42 PM

Deborah, I would love a book about Ethan’s sister! I really like her!

I am 20% in Broken Juliet and really liking it! Oh the feels and angst!!

Michelle April 28, 2015 at 8:04 PM

I’m finishing the second book in the Buried Secrets series by Silla Webb which I love and then I’m going to bite with The Beginning of Never and see what’s going on with that.

Michelle April 28, 2015 at 8:08 PM

Excited to see The Mistake is getting great reviews…I just bought too many books from this list though. Ok off to read instead of buy more…

bev April 28, 2015 at 8:13 PM

Hey, Amy. I’m at 20% of the Mistake. So far adore it. Going home and very quick dinner so can get right back to it. If it keeps up I doubt I’ll stop until I finish it.

Tessa April 28, 2015 at 8:22 PM

Anne, I’m reading The Mistake, I’m only 3% in, (been busy) and I love it already. *grins* Already giggling.

MichelleS, YEAH! That’s the appeal, the laughter. My late teen/twenties self is happy dancing.

Amy, what Cheryl said. She is dating Satan, and let’s be honest. Sanders the real hero of the series. :P

bev April 28, 2015 at 8:28 PM

“Don’t give me your sex grin. It’s creeping me out.”
lol. I love that I’m smiling so much while reading this.

Fabi April 28, 2015 at 8:34 PM

Love Logan *happy sigh* and Dean is next. I’m in such a book fog.

Linda April 28, 2015 at 8:42 PM

Anyone familiar with the Quantum trilogy? All three are out and all have 5 star reviews! I get so excited when a series is complete and highly recommended!!!! Cannot wait to start The Mistake and so many others I’ve one clicked!!

MichelleS April 28, 2015 at 8:43 PM

Amy – so much fun! He is a “warrior knight” that she calls an “arrogant beast” with all his “swaggering lordliness”. He can’t say her name, Deanna, he says “adeeann”, which is totally growing on me. Again… pure fun and sexiness. I needed that so much!!!

But The Mistake is calling to me too…….

Anne April 28, 2015 at 8:56 PM

Bev you won’t be able to put it down. I started reading and was like “ok one more chapter and I’ll stop” yeah right! Lol! Such a great book!

Loved that scene with Dean! He is amazing too!

Anne April 28, 2015 at 8:59 PM

Fabi, Logan stole my heart! I have to say I love him a little bit more than Garret! Yeah blasphemy lol

I seriously can’t wait for Dean’s book! I think I know who the h will be in that book and I am super excited! Hopefully it’ll come out soon!

Anne April 28, 2015 at 9:00 PM

Linda I’ve never heard of that series before! Who’s the author?

Jillian Phillips April 28, 2015 at 9:04 PM

I just finished The Mistake & loved, loved, loved it!! It was such a good 2nd book! I may have loved it even more than The Deal, too!

Linda April 28, 2015 at 9:13 PM

M.S. Force. Not sure what else she’s written. Will have to research but she sounds like author I’ve read before. Third book just released in Maryse’s list above.

Fabi April 28, 2015 at 9:25 PM

MichelleS I’m tickled you’re reading that one before Rejar. Such a fun read.

Fabi April 28, 2015 at 9:27 PM

I know Anne. Right? But I think I started falling in love with Logan in Garrett’s book.

Anne April 28, 2015 at 9:47 PM

Thank you Linda! I’ll have to check that series out! So many books so little time lol!

Fabi, me too! He is so amazing!

bev April 28, 2015 at 11:41 PM

Lorris. That has to be the geekiest and cutest thing, lol.

Ugh, reading much slower than anticipated and a very early alarm.:-\

bev April 29, 2015 at 12:06 AM

Heh. I love that Drew Baylor the quarterback from The Hook-up just got a shout out.:-)

Cheryl April 29, 2015 at 6:20 AM

Tessa, I loved Sanders! Wish he could get his own book; now that’s a back story I would like to know more about!! :)

Just started The Mistake!! “Drew Baylor from the Hook-Up”-that was a great book too!

Jean April 29, 2015 at 8:35 AM

I am slow reading The Mistake! Don’t want it to end!

The Mistake = Book Heaven!!!!

Fabi April 29, 2015 at 8:51 AM

I know! I can’t tear myself away. I have to go to work, but…I don’t want to leave Grace and Logan.

bev April 29, 2015 at 9:39 AM

Had to put it down last night. But in the final 20%. I love the guy’s relationships with each other. I wish more authors would do that with the heroines in NA.
Have any of you noticed how much better a book is when you love the heroine as much as the hero? For me it just makes the book that much more. Curious if anyone else feels this?

bev April 29, 2015 at 9:42 AM

Now for my little tiny nit pick, lol. I wish the beginning before V day(or night) had lasted longer. More movies and water towers. I think may of given it a slightly bigger oomph. And, for me, more of a connection to how Logan felt afterwards. This could just be me though.

Fabi April 29, 2015 at 10:07 AM

That did happen rather quickly. But I put it down to college life and the fact that he’s ultimately a really decent guy.

Shane April 29, 2015 at 10:13 AM

Loving, “The Mistake,” so far. That Logan, I was crushing on him since, “The Deal.”
I can’t wait to get on the train for my afternoon commute so that I can continue being in book bliss!!!

Fabi April 29, 2015 at 10:23 AM

Reading The Mistake – my face hurts, it’s been stuck in a grin for hours.

Jean April 29, 2015 at 10:28 AM

Fabi, I know! I can’t stop grinning either!

Jean April 29, 2015 at 10:43 AM

Damn, I missed the Bad Romeo sale again…..grrrr…

bev April 29, 2015 at 11:00 AM

“he’s not abusive,he’s self destructive.”
Something about that line just hurts my heart.

Jean, that is always so frustrating.

Amy April 29, 2015 at 11:01 AM

Alright, Romeo and Juliet are going to have to wait ’cause I’m diving into The Mistake. All this collective love for it is just making it too tempting!

Cheryl and Tessa…never thought I would say this, but by the end of Separation he was looking less and less like “Satan.” And I LOVE Sanders!!! What little we were given of his history was just so sad though, and when Tate flipped out on him on the boat I wanted to throttle her.

And thanks to everyone for the heads up on Broken Juliet…you guys saved me from accidentally reading possible spoilers so *muah!!* :D

Kylie Gilmore April 29, 2015 at 11:25 AM

That’s a lot of new releases! Thanks for including mine.

bev April 29, 2015 at 11:43 AM

One other little thing I like about The Mistake,Grace ‘s parents. I like them but also the way they are portrayed. That there is no shaming in the fact that they basically swapped roles. Usually a mother would take a serious hit for that and she doesn’t. I appreciate that. That it shows that the family is still very healthy and that a mother can still be a good one even in that role, you know.

Joanna April 29, 2015 at 11:48 AM

The Beginning of Never is soooooo gooood. Saw it on your list yesterday and finished it this morning! Super angsty and left with a cliffhanger – argh! Seems like it’s going to be the first of a trilogy and by the Amazon blurb of the second book it doesn’t sound like the angst is going to stop soon, but it’s really well written, great characters (leads & secondary) and just really good first love, heart-melting sweetness!

Tessa April 29, 2015 at 12:19 PM

OMG today has been so busy, I can’t wait to get back to The Mistake. They were literally on a water tower last I read. Bev, I agree. If I like the heroine as much as the hero, big hit. However, to make an awesome book, make even the secondary characters complete, good and bad. She does that soooo well!

Jean, bummer. I’m sorry about that. :/

Amy, big thing to remember, Separation is book two. Tate has a LOT of growing up to do still. I think, by the end of Separation, Jameson has basically done most of the growing. Tate is still operating on old Jameson, rather than new Jameson. Does that make sense?

Sanders = <3

Fabi April 29, 2015 at 12:19 PM

Good point Bev!

Niki April 29, 2015 at 1:21 PM

I’m also reading The Mistake and loving it!! So funny!! The Friend Zone by Kristen Callihan comes out on Tuesday!! It’s the second book in that series, the first one was The Hookup!

Tessa April 29, 2015 at 2:19 PM

Just read the Drew Baylor reference, which tells me I need to read the Hook Up. *grins* Lorris is awesome. Just pure awesome.

Shane April 29, 2015 at 2:23 PM

You are right Bev

Laura April 29, 2015 at 3:17 PM

Pmsl the mistake – “at this point I’d be thrilled if a carrier pigeon tapped its beak on my window and delivered a handwritten letter done in perfect calligraphy” :D there are no words how hard I’m laughing don’t know why and I’m getting looked at funny now lol

Fabi April 29, 2015 at 3:28 PM

and how about this one?
“She sighs when she notices the campsite on the bed”
yup, you’re imagining that one right *snicker*

bev April 29, 2015 at 4:07 PM

Niki, does it really!?! So. Happy. With The Hook Up I really liked it, just not love it as much as the buzz. Sometimes I think the buzz can work against me. But still a great read. I do want to read The Friend Zone. Just a great premise and liked the little sneak peek of it we got.

bev April 29, 2015 at 4:13 PM

Laura, I think I laughed the hardest at Justin’s “What is happening right now?” scene.

Fabi think you have totally passed me. Have not got to that scene, yet.

Fabi April 29, 2015 at 4:22 PM

I finished a few minutes ago Bev. And I totally want a copy of that picture Justin was laughing at.

Anne April 29, 2015 at 4:52 PM

Bev I totally agree! I loved The Mistake because of both Grace and Logan. I loved her too!

Lol! Poor Justin! That scene was amazing! I want that pic too! I loved how Garret was acting like it was a normal ocurrence or something lol!

I am 62% done with Broken Juliet and really liking it! Ethan is amazing! Love how he has changed and matured.

Anne April 29, 2015 at 4:54 PM

Fabi did you love it? I am still thinking about it. I love Logan! Now I am anxious about Dean’s book. Can’t wait!

Anne April 29, 2015 at 4:57 PM

Tessa I agree! The secondary characters are great too! Love Tucker and his beard and the guys reaction to it for example. I don’t know it makes everything more believable. I can’t get enough of this series and Elle’s writing!

Jean April 29, 2015 at 5:41 PM

I love them all in The Mistake! And there are just too many funny lines to recount. Just got to the Lorris Brangelina line…too, too funny!

Fabi April 29, 2015 at 5:45 PM

Yeah, and can you believe he did that?! omg

Cheryl April 29, 2015 at 7:23 PM

Just one of the many funny lines from Logan…”How long does an erection have to last before it’s considered bad news? Three hours? Four? No way this movie is that long, right?”

Amy April 29, 2015 at 7:44 PM

Starting supper and then will FINALLY get to start The Mistake! So, I should pretty much plan on not getting any sleep tonight? ;)

Talking about shout-outs in books…anyone remember the KELSEX (Kellan!!) shout-out in Avoiding Temptation? She mentioned how good they looked together and wondered if they were a couple. Grrrrrr…

Amy April 29, 2015 at 7:45 PM

And yes Tessa…that is a great way to describe Jameson and Tate in Separation. I’m not too thrilled with Ang either now. Jerk.

Anne April 29, 2015 at 7:45 PM

So I’ve been listening Maroon 5 all day and now I am craving a great rock star/musician romance book! Any recs? Which one is your favorite? Thanks guys!

Anne April 29, 2015 at 7:46 PM

Cheryl lol! This book has amazing funny lines! Ahh love it so much!!

Anne April 29, 2015 at 7:48 PM

Yeah Amy no sleep for you! Lol You are going to love it!

Fabi April 29, 2015 at 7:50 PM

Hey guys, it seems like I’ve so many amazing books already this year. I was wondering, is it just me or are we getting some super duper writing published this year?

Fabi April 29, 2015 at 7:51 PM

I’ve “read”

Joanna, The Beginning of Never has a CH!! Nooooooooooo…I’m only 20% in but now I’m bummed…*grumbles but goes back to reading*

Tessa April 29, 2015 at 8:30 PM

Thank you Michelle! *grins*

OMG, OMG, OMG, the happy feels. Just finished The Mistake. I even snort laughed at one point, and I honestly rarely do! But the feels! So many smiles.

Amy April 29, 2015 at 9:13 PM

I just saw that comment too, Michelle…that sucks donkey balls ’cause I was looking forward to it. :? But thank you Joanna for that heads up!!

Yep Fabi, this seems to be a good year for some GREAT reads! :D

Anne…what kind of RS book are you looking for? Standalone, a series, angsty (my favorite!), sweet?

Deborah April 29, 2015 at 9:54 PM

Anne I’d recommend Forever red or Mayhem.

Tessa April 29, 2015 at 11:18 PM

Eeep, there were so many good books that came out, I missed one I wanted to read, Cold Burn by Jennifer Estep. I have to wait to buy it, but next week, it will be MINE! *grins*

Anne, what rock star books have you read? You’ve read Thoughtless, Olivia Cunning’s Sinners on Tour, Kylie Scott’s Stage Dive series and Terri Anne Browning’s Rocker series, right?

Anne April 30, 2015 at 12:39 AM

Amy I don’t mind if its a series or a standalone :) I love angsty and passionate!

Deborah I’ve read Forever Red and loved it! Haven’t read Mayhem though! Do you know the author?

Tessa I’ve read all of those except Terri Anne Browning’s! Need to check it out! Do you have other suggestions? Thank you!

Anne April 30, 2015 at 12:40 AM

So just finished Broken Juliet and loved it! The perfect ending to Ethan and Cassie’s story. I am going to miss them.

Michelle April 30, 2015 at 5:15 AM

Tessa, I got Cold Burn of Magic already and was thinking of reading it next…that or Rising Darkness but I need a PNR stat! And no CH…*still grumbling*

Amy April 30, 2015 at 9:32 AM

Anne, I agree with Tessa about The Rocker series by TAB. I believe Jean has read it to and would agree with us. The Devoured series by Emily Snow is good and a bit angsty, and I haven’t read it yet but have heard that the Groupie series by Ginger Voight is really good and very angsty…I HAVE to get to that one soon!

As for standalones, I absolutely *loved* How To Kill a Rockstar. Also, Carnage is rockstar book but it seems like people are divided on it. I personally liked it but didn’t love it simply because it exhausted me emotionally, almost like it was *too* much angsty drama…which is saying a lot for me. ;) In face, I believe Maryse said in her review that she blew an emotional fuse, LOL! Hope this helps. :D

Amy April 30, 2015 at 9:33 AM

*should have been “In fact”…stupid autocorrect.

bev April 30, 2015 at 9:56 AM

Time to pick my next read. Rubs hands together. I never did read my historical read last week. So maybe one of those. I’m thinking one from Bonnie Dee that I have. Now time for my commute read.

Tessa April 30, 2015 at 10:00 AM

First off, read the Terri Anne Browning’s The Rocker That Holds Me. That one is a big heart tug. It’s one of my favorites. The rest, let me look through my books. I’ve read…a LOT, and Rockers are my thing I’m pickiest about.

I agree with Amy, Devoured was good and angsty. I have Groupie in my TBR as well, the TBR now one, but just haven’t tried it yet. Carnage and How to Kill a Rockstar… I’m the only one who didn’t like either of them. *sighs* The picky thing again, though in Carnage’s case, I just hated the heroine.

Michelle, PNR without a CH? Do such things exist? :P I’ll look at what I have. *grins* Though, Jennifer Estep usually doesn’t have CH, just next episode. Don’t they usually end the book’s story, even if the total arc is still going?

Jean April 30, 2015 at 10:56 AM

Yes I agree, The Rocker series!!!! So, so good!!!

In a book funk after The Mistake…. not sure what to start next…

Fabi April 30, 2015 at 11:08 AM

I felt the same way Jean! I finally decided to get back to the Gentry boys with Cora Brent because I wanted to stay in the CR zone and I’d loved the first one.

Tessa April 30, 2015 at 11:27 AM

Same here. I finally decided to read Diamonds by KA Linde. The heroine is the type of girl we all hate, but that’s on purpose. I’m liking it so far.

Jean April 30, 2015 at 11:36 AM

I think I am going with Nobody’s Dream (Masters at Arms series). I had been waiting for it for a long time and I just love the series so much!

bev April 30, 2015 at 11:56 AM

Won’t be able to really start until this evening, but yeah next read. And since it’s Thursday……..

“Clouds were painted on the flat blue-gray sky, not even a gull disturbing the barren heavens.”
~ Captive Bride by Bonnie Dee

Tessa April 30, 2015 at 11:59 AM

“Broken – mind, body and soul.”
- Diamonds, K.A. Linde

Really, the book is better than that line. It’s rare to really like a character who is normally the villain, or the catty cheerleader in a typical story.

Jean April 30, 2015 at 12:22 PM

Oh shoot, the first line of my book….”His hard body pressed against the length of her back, hands reaching around to paw at her breasts.”……. and that’s not in a good way…..

Amy April 30, 2015 at 12:32 PM

LOL!!!!! How can that not be in a good way, Jean?? I just had a flash of Khal Drogo… :P

I know y’all have already read it but my line is…
“Lusting over your best friend’s girlfriend sucks.” ~ The Mistake by Elle Kennedy ;)

Amy April 30, 2015 at 12:34 PM

Tessa…you’re freaking brave!!! That is the first book in a series, and K.A. Linde is one of the queens of angst…don’t you remember the Avoiding series?!?

Jean April 30, 2015 at 12:41 PM

Believe me it is not it a good way. It’s non-consensual………

Jean April 30, 2015 at 12:42 PM

Yes Tessa, you are brave! I’ve had the Avoiding series for so long and still have not read it…. Avoiding it! Lol!

Fabi April 30, 2015 at 12:44 PM

I know Any! Those first lines sucked me in so hard

Tessa April 30, 2015 at 1:12 PM

I just finished it and it was Sooooo good. The more I read, the better it got. I know it’s taboo, but it wasn’t read like that. The taboo was more of a gut clench, but it wasn’t the main part of the story. So many secrets and intensity, and sadness… So many feels! Yes, CH, but I loved it. I can wait for July if it means more like that. It was just… wow type good.

Irony, I haven’t read the Avoiding series. I should though. No CH at this point. *grins* I’ve loved all her books so far.

What are you reading Jean? That sounds like the beginning of major heart pain.

Amy April 30, 2015 at 1:12 PM

*hee hee* Fabi said sucked and hard in the same sentence. :P

Jean! You gotta read the Avoiding series…so angsty and so fun! Tessa is brave ’cause if there is angst plus a CH in Diamonds then oooooohhhh, that’s gonna be rough. Avoiding Commitment had a CH of sorts but I already had the second book…if I would have had to wait for it I would have been p!ssy!!!

Amy April 30, 2015 at 1:14 PM

Same to you Tessa…gotta read her Avoiding series! My Oh My by Tristan Prettyman is seriously the theme song for that series. ;)

Tessa April 30, 2015 at 1:28 PM

I have it and I will. Tristan Pettyman? I’ll look it up.

Fabi April 30, 2015 at 1:32 PM

Amy *snicker*

Jean April 30, 2015 at 1:32 PM

Tessa, Nobody’s Dream by Kallypso Masters. She is so broken but about to be saved by a hot cowboy who rescues abused horses. Love this series! You have me excited about Diamonds though CH or not!

Tessa April 30, 2015 at 1:34 PM

“Vibrations reverberate throughout the miniscule apartment.”

Avoiding Commitment, K.A. Linde

Good thing I don’t judge a book by its first line. She’s an awesome writer, but the first line? Meh.

Tessa April 30, 2015 at 1:36 PM

Did we get that one for free? I think I have that. Still doing Avoiding at this point though. Yeah to angst!

Did you all now she wrote a rockstar book too? I apparently have that. Must have been free?

Jean April 30, 2015 at 1:38 PM

Tessa, your reaction to that first line made me laugh! Keep me updated on Avoiding….

Amy April 30, 2015 at 1:44 PM

Tessa!! *squeals and squeezes Tessa* Can’t wait to hear what you think of it! Here’s that song I mentioned…oh man, those lyrics…
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=3b6sYhdqKqA

*jumps up and down with clappy hands*

Whoa…shouldn’t have had them put a couple extra shots in my S’mores frappucino. ;)

Tessa April 30, 2015 at 2:01 PM

Ooh, I do know that song. It makes me want to read it more. :P I really need to learn the names of songs I hear. *grins* I so many songs, but if you ask me by name, I’ll stare at you and think huh?

Tessa April 30, 2015 at 3:47 PM

Alright, I know that I’m reading an angsty book by the same author, but Diamond keeps coming back to my head. *sighs* One of THOSE types of books.

bev April 30, 2015 at 4:11 PM

The Avoiding series was a dnf. I didn’t like any of them.

I want one of those smores fraps. They look so good. I adore marshmallow anything.

Anne April 30, 2015 at 4:51 PM

Thanks guys so much for your suggestions! I’ve read How to Kill a Rockstar and loved it! Carnage I don’t think I’ll ever read it since I know what happens at the end of the first book and yeah I can’t take it lol

So I started Overruled and I am loving it! Stanton Shaw has the potential to win my heart :)

Anne April 30, 2015 at 4:54 PM

I have Diamonds on my Kindle but I think I am going to wait until the entire series is published. From K.A. Linde I’ve only read the Record series and really liked it, so I am excited for this new one.

I still haven’t read The Avoiding series either but have it and I got Diamonds but no CH for me right now…I’m still finishing The Beginning of Never and am dreading the end!

Tessa, yep Jennifer Estep usually wraps things up in individual books even though the story is ongoing.

Deborah May 1, 2015 at 12:36 AM

Anne………It’s Mayhem by Jamie Shaw……soooooo gooood!!!!!!…..I totally got my rock star fix with this one;)

Anne May 1, 2015 at 2:20 AM

Deborah now I need to read it! Its going to be my next read :D I’ll keep you posted!

I finished Overruled and LOVED it! I totally fell in love with Stanton Shaw and Sofia was amazing too. I totally recommend this book!

Tessa May 1, 2015 at 9:55 AM

Alright, I have to ask. Does the past/ present switch off ever stop? I’m at 21% and feel like hitting something because every chapter goes to the past. I just want to know it will stop eventually. Please?

Tessa May 1, 2015 at 10:00 AM

Oh and see. Michelle, You get to read her next! No CH, technically. I will be getting that next week, and then devouring it. *grins*

Deborah, did you read book two of the Mayhem book? (No worries, Anne. They are standalones. The second is about another bandmate). I’ve been staring at it, curious.

Oh, I read the first chapter of Gold, and the CH is basically the end of Diamonds. Then, it goes to months later. Which, poor girl.

Alright, back to the past!

Tessa May 1, 2015 at 10:02 AM

Alright, last in my over posting. :/ Anne, thank you for reading Overruled. I was really looking at that, and only the price slowed me down, since the author is unknown to me. I’ll put it on my tbr.

bev May 1, 2015 at 10:43 AM

Tessa, past/present can be tricky for me. I just be getting into the story and it switches to past and then be getting into the past and switch.
For the most part I think I like when the start in the past and then end up in the present. A Place to Call Home I thought did this well.
For the switch I enjoyed Creed. I also liked the The Secret History of the Pink Carnation, though that was a historical/contemporary switch. I love those covers in that series and am going to have to finish it……sometime, lol.

bev May 1, 2015 at 10:48 AM

Anne, Come Dancing by Leslie Wells is a good rock star book. It’s .99 right now as is the sequel.

Amy May 1, 2015 at 10:54 AM

Tessa, I think it’s just a matter of preference and sometimes even just a matter of being in the right mood for a past-present sort of book. Like Bev said, she prefers the past first and then the present…I can go with either type – past and then present or past-present combo – but there have been times when it just wasn’t done well or I just wasn’t in the mood for past-present switches, so it didn’t work for me. Avoiding Commitment worked for me but I can see how it might not work for others.

If you can stick with it then you’ll have quite the angst ride ahead of you! At least it was for me. ;)

Tessa May 1, 2015 at 11:09 AM

Okay. I just get frustrated with the oooh, this happened. Now for the past to tell you why this was bad. *smacks head* I can handle past and present back and forth, but the angst is lessened big time if I don’t know why I should be worried.

Michelle May 1, 2015 at 12:05 PM

Finished The Beginning of Never and the ending was sooo annoying! I think the next part comes out in June/July. Will I read it, yes, but just because I want to know what happens and not because the book was amazing…it was just an average read. Not much happens really but I was intrigued to see if there will be something paranormal in the next one or if the Twilight comparison was off the mark. No way should this be compared to E&P either…that’s…well laughable.

I’m going to my tbr next and starting the Krinar Chronicles by Anna Zaires. Fabi, have you seen this series? I need scifi again. I thought PNR but this grabbed my attention.

Anne May 1, 2015 at 12:27 PM

Tessa I love Emma’s writing! Its funny at times and very passionate. What I also love is that we get to see what the main characters are thinking since its written in dual POV’s. I am sure you are going to like Overruled and you should totally check out Tangled too :)

Bev thank you for the heads up! I am checking it out right now!

Cheryl May 1, 2015 at 2:35 PM

Anne, I like most of the rock star books mentioned already, favorite being Thoughtless, but I also loved The Storm series by Samantha Towle and I enjoyed The Stage Dive series by Kylie Scott. :)

Deborah May 1, 2015 at 3:51 PM

Tessa………. I did read book 2 after Mayhem and I liked Mayhem more…..lets just say I rated Mayhem 5* and Riot 4* but a lot of people said they liked it just as much….. I guess just your preference.

Anne May 1, 2015 at 7:25 PM

Cheryl I loved all of those too! :D

Deborah I am loving Adam! I can totally picture him on my mind and he is HOT lol

Tessa May 1, 2015 at 9:02 PM

Deborah, that’s what I was afraid of. I’ll still try it, but it didn’t seem as interesting as Mayhem ended up being.

Honest truth, I totally have to read the Mighty Storm again. I honestly don’t remember a thing. I thought it was a pnr I read. :/

Anne May 1, 2015 at 9:36 PM

Tessa I just remember being really annoyed at the h from the Mighty Storm lol

MichelleS May 1, 2015 at 9:44 PM

Michelle – according to my Kindle, I read Krinar Chronicles book 1 in May 2014. I am trying to remember it!!! I didn’t read book2….. hmm….. trying so hard to remember. I’ll be interested in what you think so I can decide if I need to revisit it.

Tessa May 1, 2015 at 10:11 PM

Anne, I don’t even remember that! The picture, the name… I thought it was some weird pnr with magic or something. lol It’s now in my read it when in a funk mode collection. :P

Fabi May 1, 2015 at 10:42 PM

Michelle I have Close Liasons in my tbr. Let me know how you like it.

Anne May 2, 2015 at 2:46 AM

Just finished Mayhem and loved it! Thank you so much for the suggestion guys! Adam Everest rocked my world!

I am starting The Hook Up by Kristen Callihan :)

Anne May 2, 2015 at 2:48 AM

Tessa lol at the pnr confussion! I liked it but its not one of my favorite rock star books. Its not a book I’ll re-read.

Michelle May 2, 2015 at 6:30 AM

I actually finished book 1 of the Krinar Chronicles before starting Affair but I liked it, not loved but enough that I want to go to the next book after I finish my current to see where the story is going. It’s about a shy, yes virgin *cough cliche* that catches the attention of a Krinar who are aliens that have peacefully come to Earth. They claim they created humans from their own DNA and want to improve our living conditions and even changed our diet worlwide to promote healthier living and to save the planet because they are interested in cohabitation. It’s interesting and was a fast read so like I said I will probably just finish the trilogy since it did hold my attention. Ok back to Affair which I more than like right now :)

Jean May 2, 2015 at 7:20 AM

You guys are too funny! Tessa, great description of the week! Haha!

OK, so I am down the shore this weekend and I have no WiFi! Ugh? Affair downloaded on my phone but but my Note! Grrr… Gotta go find a hotspot somewhere.

Fabi May 2, 2015 at 9:36 AM

Thanks for the feedback Michelle.
