in Latest Book Releases

Good morning and Happy NEW RELEASE DAY EVERYONE!!! What a way to kick off APRIL!!!!! 100+ new releases, with that one to the left (The Chosen: A Novel of the Black Dagger Brotherhood) already rocking the Amazon Best Seller charts (and I’m sure all of the other ones too). YEP!!! J.R. WARD’S LATEST IS LIVE!!!!!!!!! BDB!!!!!!! *squeeeeeeeeeeee!!!*

But… that’s not the only awesome-looking one in the bunch. I also blurb-jolted over these: Heat Wave (that one’s in the bargain section, and I just one-clicked it so hard ’cause 1.) It’s Karina Halle, and 2.) It’s forbiddeny. and 3.) IT’S MINE!!! :D ), Hard Limits (she finds a dying drug lord laying in his own blood, and she helps him… and this part really made me giggle “Seriously. Who finds a frigging drug lord in serious need of resuscitation while coming back from a bachelorette party during the wee hours? Paige, aka Goth waitress at Rositas and a magnet for psychopaths, of course…“),  My Name Is Not Isla (this one almost has a thriller-sounding edge to it. She’s a pop star and playing by everyone’s rules, but she’s just biding her time…), Fighting Attraction (he’s a famous fighter that everyone loves and thinks is a nice guy, but he’s got a dark secret. He’s a HARDCORE Dom and only the most daring submissive will play with him), 72 Hours (sounds like a psych-thriller romance!! They used to be together but now hate each other, until they’re kidnapped together and have to work together to get out), Master Professor (sounds like the potential for a steamy love triangle. He’s a famous actor and he’s a dom, and he sends her to train to become his submissive… but her Dom-teacher likes her a lot). Hrmmm… what’s up with me and the Doms, today? :P

P.S. Let me know if I’m missing any or if you loved any (from this list or elsewhere).

  • Heat Wave by Karina Halle <— ONE OF KARINA HALLE’S LATEST ALERT!!! FORBIDDENY!!!!! And it’s super-bargain priced today!! Oh yeah!! I totally one-clicked it!

Leslie M: My fave thing I read in Feb was Heat Wave by Karina Halle. Sort of forbidden-ey. She is crushing on her dead sisters hub. Who happens to be a hot Aussie. *swoon* Oh yeah, and story takes place in Hawaii!!!

  • Twisted Truths & Leveled Lies by S. K. Lessner <— SHE FALLS IN LOVE WITH A DOCTOR & FINDS OUT IT’S ALL LIES… “Completely satisfied with her single life, Mel is blindsided when she meets an extremely sexy, accomplished, and irresistible doctor. But unbeknownst to her, there are those who’ve waited and planned for this moment…” (and it’s super-bargain priced today!)
  • Hollywood Prince by Kim Karr <— ONE OF KIM KARR’S LATEST IS SUPER-BARGAIN PRICED!Amelia Waters has always idolized her big brother, and the last thing she wants to do is disappoint him. Falling for her brother’s ex-roommate is off-limits. She knows this, but she can’t help herself...”
  • The Exchange Series: The Complete Collection by M. B. Feeney <— SERIES BUNDLE ALERT!! “Born and bred in the UK, Holly is getting the chance of a lifetime—six weeks abroad. The Kings, a host family in the US, have invited her to stay with them and get a chance to experience life as an American. When she discovers that the King family includes two teenage boys, will she be glad she came or ready to hightail it back across the pond?”
  • Bang Gang by Jade West <— TEE HEE!!! This title!! Fabi loved it (it even made her CRY!!) and the title made us giggle and she had to explain herself. ;)

This is so hard to explain!

First of all, the Bang Gang DO Gang Bangs. So you’re not wrong there, regardless of how you read the title.

BUT <— BIG BUT (not butt)

This book is a beautiful 2nd chance romance. Racy and raunchy – yes. But also emotional and beautiful.

I cried people. I hate to cry! I cried and didn’t DNF.

In fact, I need to go see if this is a series because I’d love to read about the other men. This is the first time since I started using a reading schedule that I’m even tempted to throw it out the window. If this book is the beginning of a series, my reading schedule may need to run for its life.

*Disclaimer – I like racy & raunchy romance novels. If you don’t, then this isn’t the book for you.

Paula: I’m late to the party but looks like you are all having fun lol! Got to agree with Fabi – Bang Gang was a 5* read for me!

Leslie: I just finished Karina Halle’s Racing the Sun. LOVED IT! 4.5**** It was perfect slow burn, low angst (which usually bore me) story with hot, broody & grumpy Italian H. Even his name made me swoon. Signor Desiderio Larossa aka Derio.
  • Pretty Girls: A Novel by Karin Slaughter <— PSYCH-THRILLER SUPER-BARGAIN!! SISTERS THAT DISAPPEARED... “More than twenty years ago, Claire and Lydia’s teenaged sister Julia vanished without a trace. The two women have not spoken since, and now their lives could not be more different. Claire is the glamorous trophy wife of an Atlanta millionaire. Lydia, a single mother, dates an ex-con and struggles to make ends meet…”

Tasha: One of my favorite thrillers!!

Cindy: unputdownable and will stay with you… So so good! :)

*happy dance for Grey*

Whatcha doin’ up so early, Grey??

Grey April 4, 2017 at 5:58 AM

YAY!!! I haven’t won in a while!

I’m making my list for as soon as Lent is over and I can stop this one click restriction I’ve got going. Then I will be getting The Chosen, and The Night Mark from last week… And Fallen Crest Home will also be mine when it becomes available.

Do you hear Maryse… My 2 challenge books this Month? Me before You and The Bird and the Sword. Amazing April reads, right?

Have a good day all!

Leslie M April 4, 2017 at 7:14 AM

How is one supposed to keep their TBR in check with all these goodies?!?!? *says rhetorically*

Hey Maryse (aka Ms. I love book lists), I have a list idea for you. Since you loved The Opposite of You, how about a chef/cook/foodie list? I LOVE romance books with food. I know I have read a bunch…let me look at my shelves and get back to you.

First one that comes to mind is Heat Wave by Karina Halle. AWESOME book and she is a chef!!

Ela April 4, 2017 at 8:55 AM

Well aren’t you special Grey??? Geeeezzzz, did you wait all night to be “first”?

So anyways….carry on Maryse with the awesome lists…

Ela April 4, 2017 at 8:56 AM

Leslie, see, I’m not too crazy about food/chef books unless that food is being used to deliver pleasure? Yup that’s it some whip cream and caramel…:)

Tessa April 4, 2017 at 9:07 AM

lol Someone’s jealous. :P *hugs Ela* I refuse to be first because NO I will not be awake at 3am or 4am.

Alright, finished Feyness last night. I honestly didn’t want to put it down. It’s dark. And there are no fae involved. That said, I loved the story. The details were brutal, but what made me love it the most I can’t say because… spoiler. Yeah. So… Very light on the PNR aspect. It wasn’t acted upon, just random observations that didn’t really affect anything. I think it could have been used far more.

Lauren April 4, 2017 at 9:40 AM

Books 1 & 2 of the Chance Series are FREE right now!! Book 3, Our Last Chance at Forever (The Chance Series book 3) by K.B. Andrews is out today.

Tessa April 4, 2017 at 10:03 AM

Oh and last night, two goodies came through. My hold request for Born of Vengance became available and Booklending sent me Bossman. :D

Tessa April 4, 2017 at 10:03 AM

Thank you Lauren on the freebies.

Leslie M April 4, 2017 at 10:34 AM

Ela, I do believe I have read some books that used -*clears throat and blushes*
- food to deliver pleasure. ;)

Of course I can’t remember titles.

Regardless of Ela’s food fettish, I think a chef list would be fun!!

Theresa S. April 4, 2017 at 10:37 AM

Marsye, think Karina Halle switched up book releases. Think she is releasing a different book this month and moving Rocked Up until next month.

Fabi April 4, 2017 at 11:01 AM

As always, I’m never sure if any of you may be interested in reading other genres. Even though I think most of us do venture out of our Romance home on occasion.

I am reading a 5+ star YA Sci-Fi (dystopian-ish) that comes out TODAY.

It’s called Defy the Stars by Claudia Grey

It’s book 1 and I can’t tell you yet if it has a CH because I’m not quite finished with it (shame on me). But normally these types of books don’t CH too bad. <— We're all getting so creative with our language usage. ;-)

OK, so the story focuses on a 17 year old fighter pilot girl and a unique, human-like android. The rest of the "mechs", as these human-like droids are called, are programmed to be limited imitations of humans. But, Abel is different. He truly is one of a kind and that puts Noemi in a very difficult situation as she's trying to save her world from take-over.

The relationship that develops between these two! Her slow realization of what he really is! His actions, reactions…It's all fantastic. I am so IN with this one.

R. Renee April 4, 2017 at 11:05 AM

I didn’t get up until after 10 because I was up until 3:30am reading SoT!

Fabi, I need you to pre-read Fall Hard for me!

Fabi April 4, 2017 at 11:07 AM

huh? Fall Hard? Is this an allusion to my titles hangup?

Maryse April 4, 2017 at 11:10 AM

Excellent choices Grey!!!! :D

And you have amazing self-control. ;)

Maryse April 4, 2017 at 11:11 AM

Leslie that’s an AWESOME list idea. I’d love for another like that… the whole restaurant stress/chef-competition!!! And then… love. *sigh* :D

Maryse April 4, 2017 at 11:12 AM

Thank you Theresa!!

I shall adjust this shortly. ;)

Nay April 4, 2017 at 2:27 PM

My favorite line so far from our The Sea of Tranquility buddy read:

“I snort. Because snorting is attractive.” LOL!

Grey April 4, 2017 at 4:20 PM

Problem with speed reading… I thought Nay’s quote was talking about snoring… And I gave it the side-eye in my head. Last week, we said snoring was reason enough for justifable homicide… But alas, it was just a ‘me’ moment,

Tessa April 4, 2017 at 5:31 PM

Fabi! You haven’t read Born of Vengeance yet?

Leslie M April 4, 2017 at 5:33 PM

Nay, there have been quite a few funny lines from Sea of Tranquility. I loved when Nastya called coffee a$$-water.

Nay April 4, 2017 at 5:59 PM

Nastya has a hilarious inner voice!

Fabi April 4, 2017 at 6:22 PM

Probably not Tessa. I’m behind on all of my PNR series. I kinda have to be in the mood for PNR nowadays. It’s not quite as automatic as it used to be.

Amy April 4, 2017 at 7:06 PM

Can I vent? PLEASE?? I need a safe place to do that right now…

Tessa April 4, 2017 at 7:09 PM

Go for it!

Lisa M April 4, 2017 at 7:12 PM

Finished Ends Here by M Robinson. Amazing, awesome, incredible, loved it!!! I was frantic speed reading all day!! Shhh don’t tell my boss aka my hubby!!! I had to find out what happened. So freaking emotional I was!! Great ending leading into the next book about other characters!! Whew I don’t think I could take another cliffy!! Now I need to study this list & click away. Lots of work to catch up on tomorrow

Grey April 4, 2017 at 7:19 PM

Amy… Girl, we are here. If you need a place you can always head to the goodreads threads too…

Amy April 4, 2017 at 7:21 PM

I’m about to throttle this 23-year-old who knows everything…no, I’m serious EVERYTHING about life and people and their motives and what everyone should be doing and how they should be thinking because she is SO progressive and took psychology classes in the college she didn’t finish and she gossips about others but it’s NOT gossip because THEY are wrong and she is just stating facts and they are just out to get her but if they would just see she is in the right then things would be fine and wants to know OMG why are the older women gossiping about her like they are teenagers and aren’t they too old for all of that and she knows this job better than ANYONE and B!TCH SHUT THE HELL UP ALREADY!!

And I can’t even do anything about it because she is under someone else and that person thinks she is just awesome. FML.

Tessa April 4, 2017 at 7:25 PM

*hugs* Here, I found a special drink for you in honor of her. http://www.drinksmixer.com/drink1t5s345.html

Judgmental people are annoying. Hopefully someone will notice how she’s acting and step in.

Nay April 4, 2017 at 7:56 PM

**hugs** Amy–we’re here for you!!

Leslie M April 4, 2017 at 8:08 PM

Amy, my BFF has almost same exact thing going on at her work. Sorry! That would seriously make me stabby.

Ela April 4, 2017 at 8:33 PM

Oh Amy! I got yo’ back! Bitch be best ready!

Ela April 4, 2017 at 8:34 PM

Wow, it’s so quiet on this thread as opposed to yesterday’s?! Hmmmmmm  :P

Maryse April 4, 2017 at 8:37 PM

Amy!! Whatcha need to vent about??

Maryse April 4, 2017 at 8:37 PM

Ela… right??

Is it a full moon… or is everyone reading?

Ela April 4, 2017 at 8:38 PM

We had a new girl join our tax group a year ago and she had the nerve to tell me I had Grey hair and why I didn’t have something at home to cover them up!!! I kindly put her in her place and now AFTER ONLY A YEAR she’s going on maternity leave *shakes head* AND I doubt she’s coming back…all that training!

Lisa M April 4, 2017 at 8:46 PM

Amy, I feel for you. There is nothing worse than annoying people that you can’t avoid & others that don’t see it!! Hope you can lose yourself in a book. That always helps me & a vodka & maybe some chocolate!!

Grey April 4, 2017 at 8:55 PM

*hold my earrings* let me at her! Ugh, seriously though Amy, that sucks. I’m sorry for the workplace Drama…it blows. I hope it has settled a little. My best advice, document everything, even if you dont think it Is important now, it might be later. Good luck, my friend. I’m always here to listen. Unfortunately, I’ve been there. It is no fun.

Fabi April 4, 2017 at 8:58 PM

The third Captive Prince short story is out. :-)

Fabi April 4, 2017 at 8:59 PM

Sorry, May 3rd

Maryse April 4, 2017 at 9:02 PM

i have vodka and some cosmopolitain mixer… maybe we should just go Sex and the City old-school?

Nay April 4, 2017 at 9:02 PM

Maryse–I think maybe a bunch of us are reading our April challenge books (everyone’s read this but me). I know that Leslie, Robin, Anna and I (I think that’s everyone??) are BRing The Sea of Tranquility.

Maryse April 4, 2017 at 9:03 PM

LOL Fabi.

Premature excite-ation. ;)

Maryse April 4, 2017 at 9:03 PM

I LOVE that one, Nay!!!

Maryse April 4, 2017 at 9:05 PM

*snuggles Amy*

Just let it flow right over your back my friend.

Thank goodness it’s not about you…

And on that note, YOU are AWESOME.

Maryse April 4, 2017 at 9:06 PM

ELA… you’re awesome too, and that girl’s just jealous!

bev April 4, 2017 at 9:10 PM

Sorry, Amy. Work place relationships can be hard.

bev April 4, 2017 at 9:16 PM

A thousand up votes for
Maryse ‘ s comment.

Maybe you can tell the girl that? Every time she says something disparaging about someone else to you. Just look her straight in the eye and tell her, I’m awesome. Then walk away.
No.
Strut away.
But a cape.
Capes are bad ass.
She would probably stop bothering you.
And it would give everyone something else to talk about.
And your team could bond over their awesome quirky boss.
Who wears a cape.

Fabi April 4, 2017 at 9:17 PM

*jumps up and down and around and around*

Lemmee at er Amy, lemmee at er. Where she at? Com’on beatch, I’ll show ya what the ol’ ladies can do.

*looks around at utter silence*

hmmm – premature excite-ation again?

;-)

Big huge huggles Amy girl. I don’t think I’ve anywhere where there wasn’t at least one pain the a$$. Next thing you know, their gone. Hang tight.

D.G. April 4, 2017 at 9:31 PM

So I am prepared…bought the bread, milk, turkey, bottled water and batteries. Don’t ya’ll just loveeee storm fronts?!?!?

Maryse April 4, 2017 at 9:34 PM

Who’s holdin’ who’s earrings??? :D !!!!

Maryse April 4, 2017 at 9:35 PM

Wait.

What storm, D.G.?

Maryse April 4, 2017 at 9:35 PM

Ohhhhh I am so very behind in real-world stuff.

LOL!!!!

D.G. April 4, 2017 at 9:40 PM

Got two storm fronts hitting tomorrow. Following the horrible one Monday…we had tornado warnings going off. Central GA and AL. The weather folks are saying tomorrow will be worse than Monday. So of course schools are closed and such….

D.G. April 4, 2017 at 9:42 PM

Cold and hot just don’t mix…..I so hate when they start talking tornadoes!!

bev April 4, 2017 at 9:53 PM

Because tornadoes are scary.

Stay safe, D. G.

D.G. April 4, 2017 at 10:03 PM

except in the Wizard of Oz and Twister….

Thanks Bev!

bev April 4, 2017 at 10:14 PM

Wizard of Oz is scary. That Lady On The bike.
*shiver*

D.G. April 4, 2017 at 10:16 PM

Wicked witch of the West and those monkeys!!!!!!

Grey April 4, 2017 at 10:57 PM

No she’s not! Elphaba is just misunderstood! Didn’t you guys see Wicked??? *Squee* Tessa! Back me up here!

DG and lower East Coast girls be safe!

Tessa April 5, 2017 at 12:08 AM

Seriously, Elpheba was awesome. It’s the wizard who’s evil. Heck, I knew that before Wicked. How can someone who’s made everyone think he’s a god and follows and worships him and gives him everything he wants be GOOD?

MichelleS April 5, 2017 at 8:08 AM

Amy… shut her down. “Five years ago you were in high school. You may think you have life all figured out, but come talk to me in 10 years, when you have more life experience. Knowledge is not all found in books.”

Amy April 5, 2017 at 8:53 AM

Oh, my friends…I LOVE YOU ALL!!!

Thank you all so much for the encouragement. I’m actually a little embarrassed now for ranting that way, but I had been trapped in a car with her for almost 2 hours after working with her all day and I was at my breaking point.

*group huggles*

bev April 5, 2017 at 8:57 AM

Alright ladies. It’s Wednesday. Hump day. I feel a bit blah so going to brighten my day a bit.

I love spring. It smells like things growing.

I am completely enjoying my YA reading phase right now.

I loved Aristotle and Dante and re – listened to parts just to smile.

I have a total nerds girl crush on Lin Manuel Miranda. I’m one step away from Robin and Josh territory.

I like the word hedgehog. Say it, hedgehog.

Amy and Maryse seem like the would be the kind of real life friends that would totally fuss over and take care of you when you feel bad.

I like the word totally.

Jean let’s me call her Judy Dench and write office romance stories about her.

MichelleS and Tasha totally (see) get my type of books.

I think Fabi would be the type of real world friend that would let me sit in the corner and read and not find the silence awkward.

Strawberry season!

Ok, feel better now. ;)

Ela April 5, 2017 at 9:08 AM

Stay safe DG!

Weather here is bleh and they’re saying snow tomorrow…..like seriously! And now I’m feeling bleh, I wish I could smell spring like bev *sigh*

Fabi April 5, 2017 at 9:19 AM

Absolutely Bev, cause I’d be doing the same thing.

Leslie M April 5, 2017 at 9:57 AM

Bev, I love that you are in a good “book place” right now. Book slumps are the worst!!

Fabi April 5, 2017 at 10:32 AM

They really are Leslie. They make everything else feel blah. OTH, great books seem to spill their happy onto things around us.

Nay April 5, 2017 at 11:02 AM

Ela–snow? SNOW?! It’s 76 her right now and I’m praying D.G.’s weather isn’t headed our way today. April is tornado time in Tennessee. And YES, stay safe, D.G.!

bev–I have strawberries with my breakfast every morning–just loving them right now! And I’m looking forward to starting the audiobook and hearing Lin Manuel Miranda. I’m hoping I’ll be ready to start my walking by this weekend!

D.G. April 5, 2017 at 12:29 PM

Thanks all! There has been several tornadoes so far in neighboring counties. Praying that it will continue to miss us. We have a ways to go today. So, I am watching the weather out the window, watching the weather channel on TV and reading the new one ‘I Don’t’.
Nay, really hope it does come your way!

D.G. April 5, 2017 at 12:31 PM

Lordy…Nay..it does NOT come your way! Geez, really hope it does NOT. Either I can’t see or I can’t see…

Lisa Aiello April 5, 2017 at 1:07 PM

Oh bev….you brightened my blah day also. I am going to answer everything today with “totally hedgehog, right?”

Now if only I could find a fried twinkie, my day would be complete!!!

Ela April 5, 2017 at 1:15 PM
Nay April 5, 2017 at 1:58 PM

D.G.–I knew what you meant! lol

Lisa A–It’s not fried, but have you seen the Edy’s Twinkie ice cream?? I saw it at Dollar General market of all places just yesterday.

http://www.delish.com/food-news/a51024/hostess-sno-balls-twinkies-ice-cream/

Tessa April 5, 2017 at 3:37 PM

All these food, yuck. :P

Maryse persuaded me correctly about Dirty Red. I feel so bad for her now, and I just wanted to hug her and beat up Caleb. lol Nope, no revenge feelings, other than punching Caleb.

Now I want to read Thief. I want to see how Caleb can possibly make it okay.

bev April 5, 2017 at 4:10 PM

Please work “totally hedgehog” into a conversation. Lol.

Tessa April 5, 2017 at 4:46 PM

I’d sound so much like a valley girl. Exactly how I’d say it: ‘It’s like totally hedgehog, right?’

Grey April 5, 2017 at 5:48 PM

Read Thief! Read Thief, right now, Tessa! It was my favorite!

Glad to hear you’re safe, DG and Nay!

Tessa April 5, 2017 at 5:56 PM

I will, when I get money! lol

bev April 5, 2017 at 6:52 PM

It can be our new book sum up, Tessa.
How was the book, bev?

It was totally hedgehog.

That cover is so hedgehog.

You guys male me laugh.

bev April 5, 2017 at 6:52 PM

Make.

Make me laugh.

Grey April 5, 2017 at 7:29 PM

No… male me laugh is way better!

Maryse April 5, 2017 at 7:32 PM

All of it. We should totally start our own kangaroo.

Maryse April 5, 2017 at 7:33 PM

No. NO.

LANGUAGE.

Not kangaroo.

I gotta say we’ve already started our own language, what with the forbiddeny, marmy, deathclub and peanuts… but male me laugh and hedgehogs and kangaroos…?

I think we’re on to something. :P

Maryse April 5, 2017 at 7:34 PM

P.S. How does autocorrect get “kangaroo” out of “language”??

HOW????

Maryse April 5, 2017 at 7:36 PM

YAY TESSA!!!!!

Seeeeeeeee????? She’s an ass, but it’s not all her fault. COME ON?!! Who would put up with that???

Maryse April 5, 2017 at 7:38 PM

*sneak hugs bev from behind so she doesn’t realize it’s happening and I can get a good snuggle out of her*

Oh oh…

*feels her tense up*

*tries to massage the tension*

*tensions worsens*

*snort* :P

Grey April 5, 2017 at 7:38 PM

IDK but it totally works, males and kangaroos, seahorses and giraffes that never have their babies… We could totally be onto something.

Nay April 5, 2017 at 8:01 PM

Is GR sucking for anyone besides me tonight? *IF* I can get pages to load, it’s taking forever!

Tessa April 5, 2017 at 8:02 PM

I think the one who slept with her 6 years ago would. I so hope because I really think she needs someone who sees her for her.

I know. I just want her to have an HEA at this point and he seems perfect. And also, I love the irony if he was the one.

bev April 5, 2017 at 8:09 PM

Lol, that’s exactly how it would happen too.

Kangaroo?

That’s a new one.

Leslie M April 5, 2017 at 9:00 PM

Bev, if we all ever meet in person, we are all so going to hug the stuffing out of you!!!

Major group hug.

Fabi April 5, 2017 at 9:21 PM

Thanks Leslie *eyeroll* you just guaranteed we’ll never meet Bev in person.

;-)

bev April 5, 2017 at 9:41 PM

You can’t all be huggers.

bev April 5, 2017 at 9:42 PM

Lol, Fabi. Totally my first thought. :)

Maryse April 5, 2017 at 10:03 PM

WE. ARE. HUGGERS!!!!!

Cute growly doggie.

Tessa April 5, 2017 at 10:26 PM

I am sooo a hugger! Unless you give off creepy vibes. Try that. Then I won’t hug you. Creepy vibes deserve no hugs.

Janet April 6, 2017 at 6:10 AM

Two more GREAT reads -Rachel Higginson’s ‘The Opposite of You’ – enough said, thanks for that one Maryse! – and thank you Fabi for Jade West’s ‘Bang Gang’. I stayed up all night to finish it.  Yes, very, very raunchy, but also the tender story of a split, working-class British family.  There’s a hilarious little daughter, grandma, best friends and, of course, a flawed handsome hero and sparky heroine who get together too young and can’t survive the babies, the hard work and the tiredness.   Quite a tear jerker with an array of characters to love and hate!

DG April 6, 2017 at 7:00 AM

IF I feel like I know you OR I DO know and actually LIKE you, then and only then I am SO hugging you!!!! So yeah, you guys would sooo be getting a big ole hug from me!!! *plans future sneak hug attack on Bev*

Melinda April 6, 2017 at 7:25 AM

Amy one word answers. Ummm, yes, oh. She will get sick of talking to herself. I have one of them at work too. Works a treat she moves on to someone else.

Talking about Kangaroos. As you know I live in Australia and on the way home from work I pass about 50 of them in a paddock having their dinner. Just love it favourite part of my day.

Maryse I really loved the book by Rachel Higginson ” The opposite of you”. Could not put it down. And I think I’m the only one in the world that hasn’t read “Beautiful Bastard” 5 stars loved it on sale $1.99.

Amy April 6, 2017 at 9:43 AM

I’d be careful if I was y’all…last time I tried to sneak attack hug bev, she threatened to drop Manny down to the masses. No joke.

Maryse and Tessa…I’m totally scratching my head right now because I had the exact OPPOSITE reaction to Dirty Red! I was relishing everything happening to her after what she did in The Opportunist and was rooting Caleb on. Then again, I’m 100% Olivia all the way. I just wish Thief would have been dual POV because I missed being in Olivia’s head something awful. And you already know how I feel about male POV. And I would have loved to experience the triumph in Olivia’s POV.

All of that because I’m a hedgehog.

Amy April 6, 2017 at 9:44 AM

Holy moly, bev made fetch happen.

LOL!!!!!

MichelleS April 6, 2017 at 9:59 AM

One of my dog’s favorite toys is a stuffed hedgehog beanie baby that used to be my son’s – named “Hedgie”. I love hedgehogs. I think all Germans do. It’s like the Kangaroos with the Aussies, I think.

I’m like a half hugger – random hugger – I do some people and not others. And it’s not usually people I know well or anything – can’t explain it. Something in me just says “hug that person”.

Grey April 6, 2017 at 10:03 AM

FLT ~ “Come on, Leah!” Wrecked by Jeannine Colette

Amy April 6, 2017 at 10:04 AM

*tackle hugs MichelleS*

What? You said “hug that person.”

Grey April 6, 2017 at 10:07 AM

It totally depends on the agitation (WTF autocorrect- I typed situation, it changed it to agitation…I left it because somehow, it made more sense  ) with hugs.

Thief made my top of 2015 list, I think I already lent it out or I would totally be lending it to Tessa right now!

Fabi April 6, 2017 at 10:27 AM

I’m with Michelle on the hugging. Sometimes yes, sometimes no. But, I was raised in a culture where people kiss each in greeting and farewell, so any reticence for bodily contact with strangers on my part was bred out of me long ago.

Tessa April 6, 2017 at 10:33 AM

FLT:
What a waste of smooth, shaven legs.
Bossman by Vi Keeland

This is perfect after Dirty Red. Low angst and just funny/ sweet.

I hug because I was the baby of a dozen kids. I got hugged a lot.

Amy April 6, 2017 at 10:39 AM

I hug because I love the burst of emotion that comes with it, and physical contact just comes natural to me. *shrug*

Kathy P April 6, 2017 at 11:05 AM

Cora Brent who wrote the Gentry Boys Series has a new book out called Hickey ( a second chance romance). I loved the Gentry boys so I picked this up right away. It is available on KU.

Fabi April 6, 2017 at 11:11 AM

Thanks Kathy. I’m a huge fan of the Gentry Boys. I’m going to add Hickey to my tbr.

Nay April 6, 2017 at 11:25 AM

I’ve had to become a 1/4 hugger for the past year–too much soreness going on up front! lol I really miss hugging my 3 sons and my hubby full on! But I’ll be able to soon!

FLT:
‘Ants under the skin.’
The Beast by J.R. Ward

And, yes, I’m going to finish this f#%king book that I’ve been reading since OCTOBER today! I’ve never had this much trouble getting through a BDB book.

Maryse April 6, 2017 at 11:29 AM

Thank you Kathy!!!! :D

Maryse April 6, 2017 at 11:32 AM

I’m a hugger too. Exactly for the same reason that Amy said. It’s such good energy… and always makes me smile.

Amy, it’s like your my twin in all ways.

Maryse April 6, 2017 at 11:34 AM

Oh YAY Melinda!!!

The Opposite of You meant everything to me for some reason. It was just right up my alley, and I was SO in the mood for it. And more like it, now. I have to make a list. ;)

Maryse April 6, 2017 at 11:35 AM

YAY Janet!!!!

I HAVE to read this Bang Gang book. Especially if it made Fabi cry. It’s going to be so much more than that title I have no doubt.

Tessa April 6, 2017 at 11:47 AM

Don’t be put off by the prologue. It’s so heartfelt and real. The characters are real, and the situation is so poignant.

Leslie M April 6, 2017 at 2:05 PM

Ya, so I’m all anxious because Lisa is reading Thoughtless & Jean is reading Consequences…I’m so nervous they won’t like it!!!

*takes deep cleansing breaths *

bev April 6, 2017 at 2:09 PM

Fetch? ?

Tessa April 6, 2017 at 2:37 PM

You’ve seen Mean Girls, right Bev?

Amy April 6, 2017 at 4:13 PM

Awwww Maryse, my sweet twin!! *snuggles into Maryse*

Amy April 6, 2017 at 4:15 PM

bev…if you haven’t seen Mean Girls then you need to ASAP. There are SO many hilarious one liners and scenes that are classics now.

Like Gretchen trying to make “fetch” happen. LOL!!!

MichelleS April 6, 2017 at 5:04 PM

FLT: “The two figures looked down on the mellow grey stone edifice which sat majestic and comfortable in its ancient setting of expansive green pastures.” Her Bastard Bridegroom.

Was in the mood for some historical romance.

MichelleS April 6, 2017 at 5:08 PM

Nay – I hear ya’. BDB Books are really hard for me to get through the past few years too. Just too many side stories. Not enough “bonding”… remember the cool bonding scent? At least the baby powder scented Lessers aren’t feaurured anymore.!ugh! I miss the old books.

bev April 6, 2017 at 6:38 PM

Yes, once when it first came out.

bev April 6, 2017 at 8:03 PM

Oh, another quiet night on here.

April.

My birthday month.

I just thought I’d put it out there.

You know in case you had trouble deciding what to read.

Like,

Wow.

I’m stumped.

What should I read?

Wait.

It’s bev ‘ s birthday month.

I can read a book that would also be a great birthday present.

But not hinting or anything.

You know me always playing it cool.

Leslie M April 6, 2017 at 8:30 PM

Ok Bev, I’ll bite. What would you like me to read for your birthday month?? Only stipulation: Its got to be on my TBR.
https://www.goodreads.com/review/list/9391205-leslie?shelf=to-read&utm_campaign=mybooksnav&utm_content=mybooks_cta&utm_medium=web&utm_source=homepage

Not sure how many Bev-books you will find…

bev April 6, 2017 at 9:15 PM

Really?

Your so hedgehog, Leslie.

You already have Strawberries, but if not in the mood then I see one I really liked that doesn’t get mentioned much. It’s a bit older, and been a while since I read it, but Fallen from Grace by Laura Leone.
Or you have Once Upon a Rose, just a straight up sweet cr.

Tbr adjacent just cause I know you can get it for free would be Aristotle and Dante audio.

But honestly Leslie I was tiny bit serious but a whole lot joking and being annoying, so if non float your reading boat and mood then don’t read them.

Maryse April 6, 2017 at 9:42 PM

Oh I read Fallen From Grace SO many years ago!! He was he male escort neighbor right? That one was good!!

Maryse April 6, 2017 at 9:45 PM

LOL bev!!!

What would be your birthday-book wish that we’d all read if you could only choose one? For ALL of us.

Maryse April 6, 2017 at 9:46 PM

I’m with you, Michelle. I had read through that ENTIRE series deep into her new “story ways” with all of the side stories…

but the last one I tried, I couldn’t keep my attention long enough to enjoy it like back in our olden BDB days.

Maryse April 6, 2017 at 9:47 PM

YOU CAN’T SIT WITH US!!!!!
:)

Mean Girls…

bev April 6, 2017 at 10:27 PM

One book?

*thud*

You’ve killed me.

One?

Ok, if only choosing one book I’d say Simon because I think it has the potential to be the most universal.

Saying that I still love all “my” other books and want many more of you to read them.

One.

Book.

*thud*

(I got up to type and then fell down again. )

Nay April 6, 2017 at 11:04 PM

April’s my b’day month too, bev!

re BDB–I’m just really glad that the books no longer have the italic ‘lesser sections’. I used to dread those when I came to them! lol

I don’t know what it is about the Beast, but I just don’t really care about anyone’s storyline enough to stay interested. But I have to get this finished before I can start Blood Vow, which I think I’ll love.

Grey April 6, 2017 at 11:51 PM

Mean Girls quotes~
“Don’t have sex. Because you will get pregnant and die. Don’t have sex in the missionary position, don’t have sex standing up, just… don’t do it. Promise? Alright, everybody grab some rubbers.”

Amy April 7, 2017 at 12:00 AM

“On Wednesdays we wear pink.”

bev April 7, 2017 at 12:28 AM

What is your damage, Heather?

Oh…wait. Wrong movie.

bev April 7, 2017 at 12:29 AM

Taurus rules, Nay.

Tessa April 7, 2017 at 12:49 AM

My breasts can tell when it’s gonna rain.
It’s okay because he’s my first cousin.

Hehehe, that character was the best.

Heathers was trippy. I didn’t like psych horror at the time, so yeah… trippy.

Amy April 7, 2017 at 12:59 AM

Four for you, Glen Coco. You GO Glen Coco.

AndnoneforGretchenWeiners. BYE!

Nay April 7, 2017 at 6:11 AM

bev–ROFL!! I was waiting for someone to mention that movie!

And yes, I’m a taurus (30th) My brother, aunt, grandmother and great-grandmother are all April but are all Aries. What day is yours??

Nay April 7, 2017 at 6:14 AM

Tessa — Heathers->trippy->Winona Ryder–’nuff said.

Fabi April 7, 2017 at 6:56 AM

Nay, I’m a Taurus too and in spite of being close to the cusp, I really fit the sign’s personality.

Leslie M April 7, 2017 at 6:57 AM

Bev, I will give one of those a try.

I’m the BEST BFF in whole wide world.

Well, maybe not the “best” ’cause I’ll probably hate them or dnf them….then be pelted with peanuts or doused in rotten tomatoes.

bev April 7, 2017 at 6:59 AM

26th.

It was tippy and it’s been even longer since I watched that one.

bev April 7, 2017 at 7:57 AM

You are, the bestest of the best.

Leslie M April 7, 2017 at 9:10 AM

I’ll take praise in lieu of hugs!!!!

Esp since the “mean girls” on GR are throwing tomoates at me.

Peanuts may hurt a little but tomatoes are messy.
