<— WEDNESDAY DECEMBER 9th 2015 UPDATE —> HOLY MOLY MY FAVORITE BOOK SALE ALERT!!! Two of my very favorite books JUST WENT ON SALE today and I mean ROCK BOTTOM prices. These were the two books I just read last week and LOVED!!!! YOU GUYS!!! ONE-CLICK THESE ASAP. Seriously. Fantastic writing, fantastic angsty romance, heartache and OMG the shocking twist. DO NOT READ THE BLURBS. Just trust me. 😉 You can read my reviews ’cause they aren’t spoiler-y.
- The Man I Love (The Fish Tales Book 1) by Suanne Laqueur <— SUPER. BARGAIN. PRICED!!!!! (my book review)
- Give Me Your Answer True (The Fish Tales Book 2) by Suanne Laqueur <— SUPER. BARGAIN. PRICED!!!!! (my book review)
Lots of fancy, sexy, darkish, sweeeeeet, funny, exciting romance releases today, and of course, I’ve highlighted the ones that gave me a little extra blurb jolt. Look at all the goodies! Don’t forget to also check out yesterday’s “Monday early bird book releases” ’cause this list rocks, too!
Okay a few that have my “extra-attention”? Dark Night of the Soul (super-sale dark read by Kitty Thomas that I want to read… that blurb HAS me!), Cold Kiss (sounds good and creepy, high school students, she has a secret power, and brings her boyfriend back to life after he dies but… he’s not quite normal this time around!), Lawless (HE is so bad, and she’s so prim!! And that COVER pretty much says it all 😉 !!), When We Fall (she’s been crushing on her best friend’s bad boy brother for so long, and now she’s roommates with him – I LOVE roommate stories!!)!! What ones look good to you guys?
Oh! And… I’ve actually settled on one from last week that so many are loving and it sounds SO different (but so cool) and is right up my alley. Anarchy Found – Alpha Lincoln by J.A. Huss!! Superhero/super-villain (<— I… I mean, she falls for the villain) and I love that kinda thing! Love the intricacies and the kind of detail it takes, for a personal connection to be formed between the reader and someone considered “bad”. 😉 Keeps me on my toes, my heart racing, and me giggling with glee at how bad it is (and therefore, how gooooood it is). So far, so good on this one, and I shall update soon!
P.S. Let me know if I’m missing any or if you loved any (from this list or elsewhere).
P.P.S. Don’t have a Kindle? No problem! Amazon offers various free Kindle apps and a free Kindle Cloud reader for any and ALL of us to use. You can either use the free Kindle App for your smartphone, tablet, AND your desktop computer (just like you’re using a Kindle, but right through your web browser <— No need to download anything! )
AUDIOBOOK LOVERS
For those going on a road trip soon, or maybe you’ve got some projects that require both hands this weekend but still allows you to “listen”… check out the free audible trial + 2 free ebooks deal —>
- AND! Here’s the fun-tool again! —> Find out which of YOUR Kindle books are available as audiobooks at a BARGAIN-PRICE! <— This thing is so cool (Amazon calls it “Matchmaker“)! It’s an Amazon feature, that scans your Kindle books and will list all of the ones you have that are also available as an audiobook at a discounted price (not normal audiobook prices). This way, you can switch back and forth, seamlessly between your ebooks and your audiobooks. VERY COOL!
- Ashley Bell by Dean Koontz
- Secret Sisters by Jayne Ann Krentz
- Charming by Dannika Dark
- Reap: Scarred Souls Series #2 by Tillie Cole
BARGAINS & READER RECOMMENDATIONS (NOTE: bargain priced when I added them, but prices can change on Amazon, so make sure to check before you finalize your order).
- Dark Night of the Soul: a dystopian paranormal erotica novel by Kitty Thomas <— DARK READ AUTHOR ALERT and I’ve loved SO many of her books. And Nancy just found us this super-bargain! “I just 1-clicked Dark Nights of the Soul by Kitty Thomas….” and yep… this one sounds like my kinda thing! “Caught out at night getting medicine for her sister, Helene is captured and taken as a slave for Gabriel, the mysterious ruler of the city…“
- Love’s Sacrifice (Absolute Series Book 2) by Erin Everleigh <— DANGEROUS FAMILY ALERT? a recent release that I missed the first time around and is so bargain priced!! He’s trying to protect her from his family (and I honestly still have no clue “what” his family is about, from the blurb) but he… “…couldn’t let her go—I never could. Unfortunately, neither would my family. Only able to communicate in secret, Susan and I had to wait for the day that my family’s truths would be exposed and we could finally be together. Until then, I would tell their lies and keep my silence. But I will have my revenge.“
- Priest: A Love Story by Sierra Simone <— TABOO FORBIDDEN LOVE ALERT! Super-bargain priced today, ’cause book #2 was just released below!! I won’t read the blurb of #2 ’cause it’s a sequel.
- Lies We Live (The Truth Series Book 1) by Brenda St John Brown <— A FAMOUS AUTHOR WITH A CRAZY EX!! This one is on super-bargain sale ’cause #2 was just released (below)… “Ella Ingraham is a best-selling novelist. She’s also a murderer. At least that’s what most of the world thinks after her ex brought a tabloid frenzy and a civil suit down on her for “negligence” following the stillbirth of their unplanned child at eight months. Her cross-country drive is meant to be an escape…”
- The Kathleen Turner Series by Tiffany Snow <— MEGA-LOVED SERIES w/ LOVE TRIANGLE ALERT & THE FIRST 5 books in this series are on super-sale!! Cristina recommends ’em big time! “I LOVED Tiffany Snow’s Kathleen Turner series! Kade Dennon is one of my top book boyfriends! God I love bad brooding boys with a tender heart! *swoon* The first book in the series starts out a little slow which saddens me because it turns some people away. However, I find that with long series, most first books are like that, it kinda sets the scene. Don’t you think? Be that as it may, once the series took off it was one heck of a great ride! Ms. Snow can really pull off a great love triangle! I love the angsty push and pull. I love romance/suspense books. That was one series that I DEVOURED in a short period of time. And! That’s one of my very rare re-reads.” and Theresa agrees! “Great love triangle. Big time pager turner.”
- Power Play (Risky Business Book 1) by Tiffany Snow <— Cristina also recommends this one! “Have you read her new Risky Business series? OMG! Just as good AND another fantastic love triangle!! Love it when a book plays with my mind and heart! Be forewarned though that the Risky Business series isn’t complete yet, so there is a cliff hanger. :-/“
- Cold Kiss by Amy Garvey <— SOUNDS AWESOME-CREEPY ALERT!!! Amy found us this one on sale! “…I don’t remember much about it other than I liked it, and I just ached for the position she put herself in and the decision she had to face. Just read the last line of the blurb and you’ll see what I mean. “
- Blindsided (The Fighter Series Book 1) by TC Matson <— Emily loved this one! “I read Blindsided by TC Matson 2 weeks ago and I still am missing me some Levi! I need book 2 ASAP. I’m totally fangirling over this book.”
- Star-Crossed Series by Rachel Higginson <— Tessa just read this one and LOVED it, too! “finished the Star-crossed series! *grins* I adored it. Just what I love in YA PNR. *spins*”

Maryse, Aly Martinez Fighting Solitude is going up on preorder 12/10 release date 2/2 per her FB page. Samatha Towle Storm novella release is 12/23. Jessica Sims, Between a Vampire release is 12/29.
YAY!! Thank you Theresa!!! Okay i’m going to add ’em!! 😀
Fighting Solitude! So excited for that one! Thanks for the info Theresa! This is a great series by Aly Martinez!
Too many on this list to mention! Thanks for all your hard work Maryse!
My pleasure Jean!!! 😀
I LOVE Aly Martinez!!
Ninja at First Sight by Penny Reid has been out for a while. It is the prequel to Happily Ever Ninja which releases on Jan.19.
Maryse, did you see Aly Martinez, Fighting Silence is .99.
I think she is doing a book 2 to Falling Up. Maybe you could see if she will confirm.
I did not!!! YAY!!! 😀
And… SHE IS doing a follow up, I just saw it a few days ago. Lemme see when it’s releasing…
Thanks. Maryse. I read your blog everyday.
So excited to see Samantha Towle has a follow up to The Mighty Storm coming soon. Just adored Jake and Tru. (Actually Jake can be added to my ‘I licked him, he’s mine list’).
Also loved her Revved series too. Carrick gives Colton a run for his hot, moody, alpha money. 🙂
Lisa you should Revivved if you haven’t- it’s after Revved. She just had another release- stand alone it was good.
Still reading Sweet Ruin, slow reading or you miss something, no skimming on Cole’s books. I have a signed copy so trying to not to mess it up!
I was hoping to catch the earlier Storm books on sale and read the whole series altogether.
Did everyone see the reviews on Lawless? Like 122 – 5 stars already!!!!!
Some say to read from the beginning.
Theresa, I read the second one in the Revved series. I really like her writing style. Also downloaded her standalone When I Was Yours which I haven’t read yet.
Got Lawless too. That cover Wowzer! Id download it just for that cover alone. 🙂
Wherever Bev is, and all fans of The Others, Anne Bishop put a sneak peak/ first chapter of Marked Flesh on her website.
Where the heck has bev been anyway? I know we were supposed to BR The Bronze Horseman……but I dropped the ball. I started it, and really loved it, but was intimated by the length! Need to start that one at the beginning of the year when I don’t have so much pressure to finish certain books before the end of the year.
So I’m reading Bad Romeo and having a total love/hate relationship with Ethan Holt…..grrrrrr…..
and where is MichelleS? I thought she said she was reading Blood Kiss. I’m about 2/3 of the way and it’s pure BDB bliss for me. Curious what others think.
Fabi I thought Blood Kiss was really good. More a romance, with secondary story of one of the brothers. Very littke focus on the lessors. Less complicated then the Shadows.
Theresa, I’m not done with it so my opinion will likely change. But I feel like it’s much more about the brothers and their ongoing relationships. This one really targets Butch. I assume the others will target other brothers. Then we have the side story about the new generation of warriors coming into their own. We meet them and get to know a little about them, and of course, there’s a new romance there as well. I don’t know. So far, I really feel like the focus has been on Butch and his shellan. It doesn’t feel at all like a spinoff. In fact, it feels much more like the earlier brothers’ books.
Hey guys, The Man I Love and Give Me Your Answer True are 99 cents today!!!!!! 1-clickity-click!!!!!
Oh Jean, just you wait…that man-boy is going to make you want to nut punch him! I don’t know about you, but the back and forth between past and present was timed perfectly for me, especially with there being varying levels of emotion and angst in both time periods. I say we kick Travis out of Maryse’s sparkly blankie fort and meet up in there when you are at the point of wanting to kill Ethan…then maybe we can convince her to read it as well!
Tessa, did I read one of your comments right that Simon STILL hasn’t made a move? Dang, that man is disappointing me. *shakes head*
And speaking of the name Simon, Seducing Simon by Maya Banks is .99 and totally sounds like a ruh-roh (stealing Maryse’s phrase there) book…she gets pregnant after one night with her best friend/roommate who she has been in love with for a while, but he doesn’t remember that night and even called out his ex-GF’s name during the sexy time! Oooooh, sounds like it could get a tad angsty! 😀
I’m reading Blood Kiss and loving it! I must agree it doesn’t feel like a spin off at all. The King was a revisit of Wraith and soon we’re getting Rhage’s second book. Both characters already had their stories so this one doesn’t seem that much more different.
Yup. To me it feels like an extension of Butch’s story.
I just got a good laugh out of this from Blood Kiss:
Paradise is walking through a crowded nightclub.
“she walked through the gyrating crowd, and as she went along, human men watched her, assessed her, hoped to catch her eye. She supposed some of them might have been considered attractive, but it was more along the lines of her wandering through someone’s room and noticing a chair with a good slipcover. The fabric might be nice, but she’d never take it home. Or in this case, sit on the damn thing.”
Alrighty then…
Christin Harber has An I going on with a bunch of authors. Links to free I books and author give aways.
Amy, there’s is the ultimate SLOOOWWWW burn. lol In the chapter that was a preview, it’s his POV, and it’s so cute and hilarious. You can tell he has feelings for her, and vice versa. Though, nothing will beat “squeaky toy”. lol
All these awesome books and I’m re-reading FCH. Well, I’m on three now, but still. I have so many books to read and I keep going back to that one.
Thanks for including my book in your new release list!
Kylie Gilmore
You guys!!! Did you see the latest TWO books that just went on bargain-sale today? My last two 4.5 star favorites!!!! 😀
Yup!!!!! Jean mentioned it up there and off we went a’ clicking!
*GASP!!!!*
Look at this MAC collection!!
https://www.temptalia.com/mac-faerie-whispers-collection-for-holiday-2015#comments
I’m so going to go broke from this collection…it’s GORGEOUS.
Amy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I just saw these Tory Burch palettes today and was like OMG
https://www.toryburch.com/beauty/
Tessa, I think I still have to read the last book in that series.
I hope next weekend is a reading weekend for me. I had way too much to do last weekend. It cut into my reading time.
Where is Michelle? I know she was working some godawful hours, but I don’t think I’ve seen her post in over a week.
Yep Maryse. About to start them.
But oh Badger, you shredded my heart into a million pieces. Five paint ball smattered stars for me. In my top five for the year. That ending. GAH! *clutches chest*
Amy those are beautiful. Especially for the holidays.
omg Ela!
I want the PAS DU TOUT EYE SHADOW PALETTE, and the MARRAKECH EYE SHADOW PALETTE and the FACE BRUSH and the LIP & CHEEK TINT and the BRONZER & BLUSH and the *out of breath*
AMY!!!!!!! AMY!!!!!!!!!!!
That’s it. I’m Fae. This confirms it.
These? ALL. ME.
YAY LISA!!!!!!
Seeeeeeeee?!!!!
SEEEEEEEEEEE? We know. 🙂
P.S.
I only WISH I was fae…
*sigh*
Santa? I have a Christmas wish….
I’m literally bouncing in my seat over all this pretty new makeup!!! I want the Pas Du Tout palette too (*fistbumps Fabi*) and the bronzer/blush palette and that lip color set…BEAUTIFUL!!! How is the color payout with Tory Burch? I’ve never tried that brand…
Fabi, you can wear the blue in the Marrakech palette?? GAH! I’m so jealous of y’all who can wear blues!!!
LOL Maryse! I could’ve told you that you’re Fae ’cause Fae TWIRL!!! 😉 But those colors, right? I’m telling ya, December 23 I will be online bright and early to order that makeup before it sells out! Heck, I’ll call MAC and find out what time it will be live because I’m obssessed like that. 😀
Oh yeah. Def on dark blues. Love ’em. I’ve never really run into a color I couldn’t wear. Although grey and black don’t do much for me and greens are iffy.
I don’t wear much anymore. But I sure used to and I still love all of it.
Just took a closer look and I’m not sure about the grey in that palette. But I’d give it my best shot. LOL
At my age, it’s all about cover up and light diffusion. Less is more. ha!
That’s right Amy. You outted Maryse. She gave herself away twirling. :-0
MAC should allow pre-orders like Kindle does.
You guys can always tell when I’m on a computer instead of on my phone, because I post back to back. LOL speedy fingers.
Oh Lisa, we feel ya. WE. FEEL. YA. It was just so heartbreakingly wonderful. I had no idea how she was going to end it after creating such a beautiful broken character and breathing life into him, but she did so in what honestly was the best way possible, all things considered. Not everyone may agree with me on how I feel about the ending, but there it is. And Adrian’s conversation with Grandma at the end? GAAAAHHHH!! Gut. Punch. And I LOVED Adrian. Loved her.
Fabi…warm up grays and blacks with a bit of brown eyeshadow blended right on top of them (trust me, it works) and use the less-is-more rule with those two, and you can pull it off. Also, using nude to taupe shades and blending them into the gray and black would work well, too.
And light diffusion is a WONDERFUL thing at our ages. 😉
Cool! I think I’ve done that a few times but mostly it was me trying to make the gray/black look better on me. I never thought to use it as a legit process.
Ah, Badger… yes *nods* passes Lisa a manatee and makes room in the blankie fort.
No blues for me… but I can rock Black and grey…
I am dragging the Final Debt out… so bad. I need to just wrap this up.
I must say, I am jealous of Tessa right now. I just read the FC series, but you’re making me wanna do a reread, really bad!
I think I’m sold on Blood Kiss being my next read though…
I don’t know what I’m going to read next. I’ve been thinking about it since last weekend and still haven’t decided. Shouldn’t be that difficult a decision seeing as how I have over 1100 books in my tbr to choose from. pffft
I one-clicked The Man I love and Give Me Your Answer True. Decided I’m making a new category on my kindle- tearjerkers!
Amy love those colors for the holidays!!! Ela- Love the MARRAKECH eyeshadow palette!! Some different colors from what I have. I can wear the blues, but I’m with Fabi- at my age less is more and it’s all about under eye concealer and light diffusion. *smoke and mirrors* 😉
Badger- broke my heart, but I loved it and I agree about the ending.
I’m reading Brooklyn & Beale and I’m really loving it. It reminds me of Thoughtless. The H is a rockstar but he is the one who can’t decide between the h and his current girlfriend. The first book by this author, Hollywood & Vine (which I also loved) is about a movie star and costume designer. Two different stories, but interrelated characters, so should be read in order.
Amy Grey Maryse and Cheryl, I couldn’t sleep after finishing Badger late last night. I kept going over it in my head trying to work a different ending but it was the only way it could end, as wonderfully heart wrenching as it was. What character development. Feeling raw.
*Big shuddery sigh* I really really do need Manny, a blanky fort and a cuddle.
Oh thank you Cheryl!!! That is some good insight on those books, and I KNOW I will love both of ’em. I just know it!
Smoke and mirrors for sure. Now I totally shy away from shimmery sparkly eyeshadows and go for mattes to lightly give depth via “shadow” and that’s all.
Ah Lisa I know it. But the ending was right, you know? It works and it makes sense and…. well. It is what it has to be.
And the TRUE message behind it all is what makes it shine so bright. LOVE.
Ooohhh Cheryl. I’m checking them out. Like Thoughtless you say.
I’ve looked at Hollywood and Vine before but without a recommendation I’m hesitant to ‘click’ nowadays. With almost 200 books in my downloaded and ready to read file on my kindle and so many more pre-ordered I should be saying NO.
Hi, My name is Lisa and I’m a bookaholic. It’s been 4 hours since my last book and one minute since my last download!!!
Bahahaha Lisa, bookaholic anonymous, BA, hahaha
LOLLLLL!!!!!!! 😛
Cold Kiss looks like an awesome read. Love the cover. 🙂
Fabi – yup, total old BDB feel for Blood Kiss. Seems like more Butch & Marissa than Psaradise & Craeg though. Lassiter was a bit over the top. I’m almost done, but for BDB fans, it’s a must read!
OMG Squeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! Aren’t those Tory Burch colors pretty!? I usually do Chanel but this year I’m not to crazy for their palettes. Although I had to get this one:
https://shop.nordstrom.com/s/chanel-les-5-ombres-de-chanel-eyeshadow-palette-limited-edition/4103856?origin=category-personalizedsort&contextualcategoryid=0&fashionColor=&resultback=1023
I am so obsessed with their colors/makeup!
Finished and loved Blood Kiss! Not sure if I should do The Man That I love or Lawless???? Decisions decisions decisions!
Yep Blood Kiss was great. The plot interwrined the two couples. Just think though. Don’t want to spoil but with the group narrowed down by 3 now, it doesn’t leave very many stories. So sad! Still the Beast is coming but not soon enough.
Still on Sweet Ruin, really good but I guess I’m reading slow and enjoying.
If you read Lara Adrian and J R Ward you have to read Kresley Cole. Seems like this one is about as steamy as her Game Series.
Wondering about the upcoming Jeaniene Frost- just outtakes but love me some Cat and Bones. Almost time to see!!!! Already preordered.
Loved Sweet Ruin! I’m just curious how this couple will fit into the Ascension since they’re on the “bad side” of the war?! I’m kinda upset though that KC isn’t doing the characters we already know about like MacRieve’s bro etc??? I went on Wiki and a spoiler for the series and Jo and Rune were never really mentioned before and I though I was surely loosing my mind.
Lisa, Badger was a heart-wrenching, emotional ride. *big hugs*
First line Thursday!
“My father took one hundred and thirty-two minutes to die.” ~ Jellicoe Road by Melina Marchetta
This is a Bev rec…you hear that, Bev? Where are you woman???
I’m not even posting my line yet until I find something nice and juicy.
Ooh ooh ooh!!! Remember how I’ve gushed about Every Which Way by Calia Read? It’s available again on Amazon!!!! 😀
***POSSIBLE SPOILER***
This might be a bit spoilery for some (I don’t think so but still wanted to put it out there) but just a heads up for those who might avoid it because of possible cheating…it’s a love triangle type of storyline but she’s not a cheater. 😉
oooh. I put it in my Kindle Unlimited wishlist. Magic Stars by Ilona Andrews is up for sale. It’s a self publish that takes place in the Kate Daniels world. *squees*
I don’t know if I can quote the first line. I’m reading Pucked by Helena Hunting. I don’t find it “funny” so much as super cute. They are so awkward it’s adorable.
Oh! Also, Magic Stars features Derek and Julie. Not sure if it’s THEIR story, but more likely a story where we get to see them. *grins*
Oh Tessa, Pucked is so good! I have Pucked Up waiting for me.
I’m trying to decide what to read next. I’m leanings towards the last Evan Arden book. It’s not on my EoY list but it should have been.
What goes on an EOY booklist anyway? I’m curious, because I’ve never had one. Until I started reading this blog, I never had “extra” books to read, let alone over 1000 of them.
Lol Tessa. Mine is simply an ‘omg, I can’t believe I haven’t read this yet” list. I tried to list the top 5 books in my tbr.
That number went out the window quick. So I decided anything <10 was fine. After all, it was already mid November. I ended up with 16 (16<10?) books on the list that I was determined to read before the end of the year.
I've gotten through 9 out of the 16. I bet if I could stop my ADD with the "oh! new shinies!" sidetracks, I could finish the dang list.
…and, oh yeah, me either. Never had extra books to read ’till I joined Maryse’s blog. In fact, it was always such a time consuming hassle to look for my next read.
Maryse is awesome and I love it here and I don’t care if I now have ADD or bookaholism or one-clickism or if I have to join BA…I still love it here
first line Thursday:
“I’m fu**ing annoyed.”
Irrevocable (Evan Arden book 5) by Shay Savage
some of these first lines … Sheesh. I had to edit that one. I can’t believe the stuff we read. *dances little jig* “I don’t like it, I love it, love it, love it, uh oh”. by Flo Rida 😉
I loved Pucked and still need to read Pucked Up too fabi! I still need to read the last Evan Arden book too but have been shying away from it because of some comments I saw! Ugh!
First line: “I rush down the crowded sidewalk, and a nervous sweat has broken out in all my most unglamorous places.” (Bad Romeo!!!)
You really are the first line Thursday queen. Consistently great first lines.
I haven’t read/heard a peep about EA5. …ssshhh
Fabi, keep me updated on EA5! So curious about it!
*happy dance for Jean and Bad Romeo*
Happy dance ? Really Amy? I’m not feeling the “happy” yet! I’m at about 75%……one minute I’m hopeful, the next I want to puke! WTH?!?!
It’s interesting with Bad Romeo because at first I had a hard time with the past/present, but then was good with it. Then I thought I wasn’t connecting to characters but then the Romeo and Juliet play ended and I got all emotional, with silent tears streaming down my face…..then I realized that somehow the author snuck up on me and I was feeling so much and cared about them a lot! Great storyline!
Ela I’m going out on a limb here but I bet Nix has other plans to get them on board.
See Jean?? THAT’S why I’m doing a happy dance…I knew you were would enjoy it!
And you haven’t even gotten to the second book yet…the emotional rollercoaster doesn’t stop when book 1 ends. 😉
Theresa! I’m counting on that and probably Thad will have some sway I gather oh and I think the O guy has something to do with Jo, how mysterious he was and how she never knew her *spoiler*….
Ela, like O had a hand in her padt- oh yeah no question. That will be the turning point if so.
First line:
‘Elizabeth Marks faked a smile as a buff, polished man shook his nylon
-encased dick in her face.’
I kid you not!!
Claire Kent ‘Taking it Off.’
I needed a ridiculous book after ‘Badger book hangover’.
Author M Mabie- Bait is free, Sail is .99.
Why is pre orders for several authors up on I books but not Amazon anyone know anything?
Lisa!!!! OMG!!!
BAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!
*waggles eyebrows and grins*A bit of Magic Mike style action at 9am on a Friday!
Making me happy: )
First line:
“A fidgety mess, Mia Devereux sat in the passenger seat of her best friend Luke’s silver Range Rover as he parked his car between a massive black Hummer and a sleek silver Cadillac.” Never Over You Series by Ryleigh Andrews. A long, but meh first line.
Lisa, that sounds so hilarious!!
Jean, I remember wanting to slap both of them at one time or another.
Amy, I noticed there are 3 books in the Sloan brothers series. Is it a trilogy?
*sighs* Loved Pucked. It had it’s humor but more for me, it was the sweetness of the two together. Now to read Magic Stars. *squeeeees* I’ve loved Derek from book one. He’s pure awesome. However, the first sentence only grabs you if you read the Kate Daniels series.
First sentence
‘Derek moved fast on quiet feet.’
Magic Stars by Ilona Andrews
Tessa, Pucked was a laugh out loud book for me, especially that epilogue-Super MC!! *snort-giggle*
I seriously thought it was cute. She was so thrilled with it at first. I just really adored the couple. 😀
Magic Stars was good too. Short, of course, however it was a full story. She’s only 16 so no romance, just the two interacting and beating up the bad guys.
Cheryl, it’s not a complete series yet because I believe there will be another book about the couple from book 1. No CH’s, but you don’t want to read the blurb for book 2 unless you want book 1 spoiled. I haven’t read book 3 yet but it’s about another brother. Come on, read it and give the Sloan guys some love!!!
Ok Amy, I’ll add it to my tbr list. Right now I’m somewhat struggling with Bring Me You. I like the story and characters; it’s the writing I’m struggling with. Choppy sentences, that have a flight of ideas/rambling/amateurish quality. I’m hoping the author improves her writing over time, since it is a trilogy. Otherwise I may not be able to finish, as much as I want to.
