<— BREAKING NEWS UPDATE!!!! Grey: Fifty Shades of Grey as Told by Christian IS NOW LIVE ON AMAZON! 😀
A few new super-sales that I couldn’t resist adding to this list! Today’s add-ons:
- Hardcore: Complete Series by Staci Hart <— The whole series bundled at a mega-bargain! “Stealing is nothing, lying inevitable, byproducts of survival. A way for Cory to provide for herself and for her younger sister, Jill, give her the life Cory couldn’t have…” and then she meets Van…
- Relinquish by M.N Forgy <— JUST RELEASED & she’s an escort! “To your father, I’m the escort. To your mother, I’m the whore. To the legal system, I’m the prostitute. In the end, I’m just the other woman.“
- Killer by Clarissa Wild <— This one is at a rock bottom price, and book #2 was just released (below) and OMG THAT ONE’s blurb TOTALLY has me… in that one, he’s a stalker… but in this one? “I’m a trophy wife. Someone’s prized possession, just there to be pretty. My dreams were pushed aside for his. Until one fateful night, one chance encounter, all his dirty secrets were exposed…”
- Scanguards Vampires: The First Generation (Books 1 – 9) by Tina Folsom <— OMG THIS VAMPIRE series was so popular back in my paranormal days, and now the entire series has been bundled for a bargain price for 2 days only!!! (P.S. Here’s my review of the first book in the series, Samson’s Lovely Mortal)
OMG I feel SO much better today than I did yesterday… *gasp* I tried “moving” around yesterday and being productive but my under-the-weather-ness and sheer exhaustion sent me to my bed for an ENTIRE afternoon/evening… and night. By early afternoon, I was out. I just couldn’t. So I piled my laptop, gear, iPad, and a ton of pillows and propped myself up and “blogged” (BTW: don’t forget to check out these surprise Sunday AND Monday awesome book releases). And I read in bed for hours. You know what? It was SO fun!!! I even made a video of what I’m reading (a brand new rock-star book called “Beat), in my pjs and everything. Tee hee!!
I’ll post my review & silly-video soon. This rock star love-triangle book is tickling my fancy big time (I’m halfway through it), and giving me the old sweet-sexy “Kellan” feel. The writing, the storyline, the angsty romance turmoil (so far nothing as exhausting and heartbreaking as exciting as Thoughtless *yet*) but DARN good. And we’re not really dealing with the heartbreak of choosing between a sweet-sexy “Denny-type” in this one. The “other” in this one? A bad-boy famous rock star, that seems to really be into her. And others, too. And it feels real… the story progression, slow burn and everything! Flynn is Fantastic. I’m totally “in like Flynn”. Tee hee! And Lisa & Heather agree:
Lisa: I just finished Beat this morning!!! Lovedddd it!!!! Flynn hot hot hot!!! I think you do have to read Throb first. You get to know his character. Beat grabbed you right from the beginning!! Lucky is one Lucky girl!! As usual so sad when the story ends!! Heavy sigh!!!
Heather: Finished it about an hour ago!! Loved it!!! Flynn may be my new bf!
So… I shall return to my book as soon as I’m done this list. 😀 Let’s see what we’ve got to play in, today… shall we?
Oh!! Some of my own extra-jolty-blurb ones that caught my eye… like:
The Blood & Roses Series Box Set (SHERRY!!!! AND!! Z FANS!!! “Seth” is frequently compared to him. Another tortured “Z” and I’ve been eyeing this series for awhile now… so MANY here love it like crazy, and now it’s bundled for a rock bottom price!! I one clicked it!), or BLUE (she’s beautiful & popular and about to be destroyed… and she’s saved by him. He’s 90% scarred), and maybe even TWO PRINCES (new biker series and she’s out to write an academic report about how primitive MC’s are, and falls for a biker). I can’t resist Stalker (Eeeeep!!! dark read sounds crazy… an actress put him in jail and now he’s out and coming for her!!), and also this dark sounding one, The Wrong Man (a one night stand turns into a twisted plot and she’s in trouble), and this one sounds a little dark, too: The Ground Rules (two married couples and the new couple proposes something to the main happily married couple. Yikes!! Sounds tumultuous!). Plus, I highlighted a bunch more below. 😀 Oh!! And this one that’s been recommended throughout the last year or so: Darker Water (Nancy & Kandace LOVE it, so it’s gone on my MAIN TBR list. I MUST read it, it sounds so awesome!)
P.S. JUST TWO MORE SLEEPS!!! —-> Grey: Fifty Shades of Grey as Told by Christian by E.L. James
P.P.S. Let me know if I’m missing any or if you loved any (from this list or elsewhere).

I’m sorry I guess I just did) & her new book: Never Let You Go. I was in the mood for something similar & Oh My Goodness did I find it: DARKER WATER (Once and Forever) by Lauren Stewart. It is a standalone contemporary romance inspired by the Frog Prince. It caught my interest from page 1 & would have read in 1 day, but at 86% could not keep my eyes open, so finished 1st thing in the morning. I ran through all the emotions while reading from laughing & smiling to sad with tears running down my face & I got angry, too. One minute it was funny, sexy & then drama plus angsty. The dialogue was so good, too. I’m a new fan of Lauren Stewart.”

OMG, that is a ton of great books!!
I one~clicked Blood and Roses 🙂
I want to experience another Z <3
Thanks for the great recommendations!!
YAY!!!! Sherry let’s buddy read it!!!! I am DYING to read it. I need another “Z” in my life.
Oh new z!! Hmmm is it a paranormal? Maryse your not feeling well? You ok? That’s dedication making this list while your not well go you!
I just finished pound of flesh I actually really enjoyed it, it was a bit twisty too.
Now should I buddy read with u guys or start blue or pierced before Amy kills me!
LOL!!! The peanuts… we gotta watch ’em. I still have a few more from the peanut list to read but the potential new “Z” is calling me too hard.
Also I don’t think it’s paranormal. Just more… “tortured bad-ass”. 😉
Yeah I just read into it there it’s got great ratings but I’m really liking the look of blue but I think I should read pierced 1st oh the decision!!
Whoa! That is some virus. Tessa got Amy and Amy got you.
Feel better! Lots of rest, fluids, vit c.
Thank you bev!!!
Yah I made fun of everyone Lysol’ing them all, and it didn’t even work!
*hrmph*
And I’m still in my cookie monster pjs. That’s how I roll. 😉
Someone needs to pass the snuffly stuffed manatee. I bet he’s looking pretty tepid right now. LOL!
Holy Shizzz Guacamoly.
What to read???
Blue sounds FAB!!!
Blue DOES!!!!
The Ground Rules…now THAT is all kinds of messedupedness just waitin’ to happen. Perfect!! 😀
Aw man, we got ya sick Maryse! Here you go… *hands stuffed manatee to Maryse* He’s all clean and I even fluffy-brushed the little guy. And here’s some echinacea tea with honey and, um, a little something extra in it *cough* jackdaniels *cough*. 😉
*tucks blankie around Maryse* Oh wait… *sets tray down with aspirin 😉 and chicken noodle soup* Now you’re all set!
Like Z? Huh. I only read the first two and asm re-aquaintying myself with one now. (one simple paragraph, and scenes are popping into my head!). I re!me!bet a year later one scene in book 2. I just don’t get Z feel yet, but maybe reading the boxed set Weill help.
Oh feck it I will go with pierced just for you Amy since you where all flemmy and stuff *puts on rubber welding glove and pats Amy’s head*
*shoves Laura’s gloved hand out of the way and squeezy hugs her* YAY!! You’ll love it Laura! 😀
Oh yeah, and I’m REALLY enjoying Beat. In fact that title is perfect ’cause I feel like that’s what just happened to me…when your trainer tells you that you’re going to have to “dig deep” for this next circuit, you know it’s gonna be bad. I actually freaking *whimpered* near the end. Whimpered! I have cussed, groaned, yelled and told my trainer to f&%k off (true story) before during sessions, but never have I whimpered. Not my proudest moment. 😕
OMG I have the plague now!!!! I don’t have anything in my bag to combat that! Oh I have paracetomal and 3,581 miles between me and America so I should be fine
I totally googled that mileage btw
*hugs* Sorry for contributing to your illness Maryse. Hopefully Beat will make it better. Erm… I’d watch out for that manatee. It’s got Amy germs on it from last week.
Oh Laura is next with the sick-ness. Even Lysol didn’t help. 😉
*snuggles manatee*
Whoops!
*spills Jack er…. “tea” all over Manny”
Tessa… I think Jack disinfected anything left over. *snort* 😛
That’s right! My little Manny is *completely* free of my germs now! Lysol and Jack took care of everything. 😛
Oh no you didn’t Tessa…ya wanna go to war, Balahky? OMG, *tell* me you’ve seen that video!!
What to follow Beat with?? Blue and The Ground Rules sound good. The blurb from TGR made my stomach clench- definitely fell some major angst with that book!!
Lysol, alcohol and good handwashing *hands out hand sanitizer to everyone* 😉
feel not fell- damn autocorrect!!
Awww Maryse, the bug caught you too. 🙁 Hope you feel better soon.
*ducks* Never saw the video. Just went and googled it.
And I’ve got hand sanitizer. Plus an immune system now resistant… cause, um… I started it?
You know the problem with starting a book by re-reading the start? You end up busy all day and suddenly think, nope. Not in the mood! I’ve tons of books, and honestly, other than Word Play *which was just cute and silly* I’m too invested in Dark Debt to find something to read. I just know, no paranormal.
Deals 😀 I do not even know where to start on today’s list…so many I want to read! Vacation starts Monday so I’m stocking up but will mostly read KU books for my free trial. Can’t decide if I want to keep it after this month?

the Ground rules does look exciting, i’ve never read about swingers!!! But no reviews anywhere. Nothin!
Michelle, there’s one on KU that I’ve had on my hot list for a while. It may be my next read. It’s called They Who Fell by Kevin Kneupper. The blurb is intriguing and the reviews are raves.
I have it Fabi – must have been free before but yeah it caught my attention too! Post if you read and it turns out good. I’ve found some on KU digging around myself and from recs on here but not sure if it’s really worth it for me.
Hi Maryse, my third novel might interest you – it’s up for pre-order and releases on 14th July. I think it’d be right up your alley! If you check it out and like the look of it, I’d be over the moon 🙂 It’s called The Trouble with Paper Planes and here’s the link – https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00YS7SUUS
I’m just getting over a viral thing that absolutely devastated me last week, so I’ll have a warm cup of sweet tea and hope everyone keeps their bugs to themselves from now on LOL!
Thanks! I one clicked the Callie Hart series!
I’ve been on a M/M kick, and there are so many great new releases!
Melissa Collins has her pre-order up with a special price 🙂 one clicked that too!
re. KU. I used it the first 2-3 months it came out. But I don’t read fast enough to really get much out of it unless I limit myself to mostly KU books each month.
Amanda, your book sounds pretty awesome. Is it PNR? I couldn’t quite tell from the blurb.
Thank you Michelle! Oh, there is another Kindle Unlimited I adored, and in fact, this month the third series by her is available in KU. SJ West Cursed is the first of a trilogy. The author has four series, and they all are separate people’s story, but they are all the same world dealing with the same thing. YA PNR, and I seriously loved it. Some eventually grow to be NA instead of YA, because the characters grow. Just… good.
Thanks Fabi 🙂 As for PNR – I was deliberately vague in the blurb. I’ll let you make up your own mind – it’s one of those books. People will see what they want to see 🙂
Blood & Roses series… Wish I would have waited! So not true. I read every book as soon as it was released. Could not wait for the next book to be published!!!!! I received an email from Callie (Yes, I stalk her too) she will be releasing another book about Zeth and Sloane soon! Happy Dance… Sigh!
*shiver* everything about The Trouble with Paper Planes, from the title to the beautiful cover to the intriguing blurb, is delicious. I’m looking forward to it.
Ashley, I just saw your post above. Please share any good M/M books you run across. I’ve read a few and loved them but I don’t really know how to find other good ones.
For anyone looking for a more slow-burn NA with a former bad-boy trying to make good, my novel All It Takes is up for preorder on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/All-Takes-Sadie-Munroe-ebook/dp/B00YM1CF42/
It’ll be releasing on June 30th.
For GoT ladies…this is hilarious! Fair warning, there are some spoilers if you haven’t seen the finale. I *just* started watching it and have A LOT to catch up on, but now I see what all the hype is about!! 😀
https://yahoosg.tumblr.com/post/121727213655/20-best-reactions-to-the-game-of-thrones-finale
Oh, and if you are a WD and GoT fan, #11 on that list had me laughing so hard I was crying…like, makeup ruined and everything!
ROFL 11 was awesome. Nine was true. So true. And number four! That hurt me more than the ending! Number one though… That’s true love!
What is GoT? I never know what y’all are talking about. What numbers?
Game of Thrones…never mind. Got it. Another shoe I don’t watch I guess.
“Show” lol I don’t make a habit of watching “shoes”
Shoe watching does sound rather odd. *grins* Maybe scoping for new things to buy? GoT is by far my favorite show on right now. I only watch so many shows to start with, yeah, but GoT has me riveted every year. If you can, Fabi, watch it. It’s fantasy delight!
I’ll see if its on Netflix to sneak a peak at.
Except when they change it, like Sansa’s story.
I don’t watch GoT but I did laugh reading the list!! Now Orphan Black on the other hand I am obsessed with!! 😉
Yeah. The Sansa part sucked. Seriously sucked.
SNOW WHITE!!!!!
LOL!!! I’m a dork and I really don’t care ’cause that meme is funny!!
Thanks Fabi – I’m looking forward to sharing it with everyone! My editor and I are putting the finishing touches on it over the next week. It’s such a unique story – my beta readers all loved it and said they’d never read another story like it, which is great news for me as I strive to be different! I hope you enjoy it, when you read it 🙂 And yes – I’m in love with the cover, too – my cover designer is a genius! She read an early version of the story and came up with the concept from there. I’m very lucky to have her on my team 🙂
I’m reading Blue and at 25% and so far good but no angst, yet. I want to read The Ground Rules, but chickened out after reading Never Let You Go and Beat. I felt needed something less angsty/stomach clenching. It was a toss up between Blue and Curveball but decided to go with Blue since not a series. 🙂
Oh every single book you just mentioned Cheryl sound perfect! Curveball’s blurb blows my mind!!
I’m in a total book rut. I have like half a dozen started but unfinished. I thought I’d read Throb and Beat next since so many of you liked those. But then I saw that the Blood and Roses series was packaged all in one for 99 cents. I couldn’t resist that. I just hope its complete and I’m not setting myself up for a cliffhanger. Can anyone confirm?
I just heard she’s gonna release another in the Blood & Roses… not sure if it’s just “extra” or if it’s cliffhanger relief? Anyone else?
Is it only in the US that the Scargaurds Vampire First Generation 1-9 is on for $2.99?
Fabi, maryse did a great post about M/M stories : Share

In the comments are additional great recommendations
Thank you for the reminder Jennifer. I’ve read a few off that list but had forgotten to go back to it for more RECs. Thanks again!
Hmmm, apparently I’ve read the first book in the Blood & Roses series. I didn’t check the titles before I bought the series. It’s been a while, so maybe a reread is in order…
Where is everybody? It’s not Thursday yet. *grin*
Oh Fabi, I’m in that same rut with ya. I started the first Signal Bend book but just wasn’t feelin’ it, and I was REALLY enjoying Beat but then I just lost interest. The thing is, both of those books are good! Probably sounds weird to say a book is good and then say I couldn’t finish it, but that’s how I know it’s just ME with the stupid funk issue and not the books themselves. I’ve NO idea what to start right now. 😕
Ugh, and Grey comes out tomorrow…no way am I starting it being in this kind of mood ’cause Christian deserves better than that! 😛
*sigh* Okay, I’m too lazy to scroll all the way up there and look for it…who is Curveball by?
It doesn’t sound weird to me at all Amy. That’s exactly how I feel. I have several good books started but for some crazy reason I seem to drift away from them. *buh humbug* I don’t even know what I’m looking for in my next read. Just something great. 🙂
I was going to pass on Grey, but then I heard that a good narrator is doing the audio version, so I may go ahead and get that. Hey, what’s better than Grey’s POV spoken by a male narrator? Sexy times. lol But I only listen in my car so that doesn’t solve my reading dilemma.
Fabi & Amy right there with you two. Have not really got past a couple pages of any book, and it’s not the book.
I think, for me schedule change and busy and extra. Just one of those times. That frog prince book though has caught my attention.
So, years ago started 50 & never finished and honestly do not really remember much about it. I do think it gets jumped on a lot. I really don’t really want to add to that…..but I saw some quotes posted from Grey and I have to say they look funny in a not suppose to be funny way. Especially one to do with tea.
Bev, it took me years and years before I gave in and read read 50 Shades. In fact, I didn’t read it until after I’d joined Maryse’s blog and heard many here raving about it. It’s a good thing the entire series was out when I read it because the only thing I liked about the first book was the ending. It propelled me to the 2nd and subsequent books which IMO were much better.
You guys should try The Ground Rules!! I put down signal bend for it (I’m into it but probably not gonna continue the series) and it was SO good! Finished at 2am, could not put it down or sleep. It totally felt like Indescent Proposal (remember with Robert Redford?!) Gah! So good, I haven’t stayed up all night to read since last year lol
Lol Amy to lazy to scroll! I here ya, I am not doing Grey but I did love the trilogy
I’ll be honest. Ground Rules just isn’t for me. I looked but swingers… nope. I blame Rosemary Rogers for ruining that one. *shudders*
Thursday first line. In the spirit of first line Thursday… mine is stupid.
Five fourty-seven A.M.
Fallen by Callie Hart, Blood and Roses 4
Yep, finally can read again, after skimming book one and two (read them before). Three was INSANE.
I also started Blood & Roses. I’ve read Deviant before so I’m not sure if I’ll need to reread the whole thing again or just skim like Tessa.
“When I say I’m a ghost, I’m not being literal.”
Deviant by Callie Hart
Heys girls! Been MIA after a long 4-day weekend! Missed you guys and my email is not nearly as exciting without all your comments coming through!! So many good looking books and I’m feeling overwhelmed by it all!!
Still reading the Fallen Crest series!
First line Thursday!! “I woke to a hand sliding under my top and cupping my breast. Mason!”. Fallen Crest Public, book #3!
Yeah, Tessa, it’s 100% unapologetic swinging and both couples have kids AND it’s gonna be a trilogy FYI (cliffhanger wasn’t bad, felt complete)
MASON COPPING A FEEL!!!! 😀 I’m picturing Mason in the morning…little bit of scruff on his face, gravelly voice, shirtless body all warm from sleep, sleepy eyes, and of course no morning breath ’cause he’s Mason. 😛 *sigh* I miss that guy…maybe I should just get over my stupid anxiety and start Fallen Fourth Down. Has anyone heard when the next FCH book is supposed to be out?
Jean, don’t ya just love Mason and Logan? But especially Mason, of course. 😉 I think I even had a girl crush on Sam!
Diane, that’s good to know about Ground Rules! How’s the angst level in it? Once again, my moral book compass just went *pblttt*!!!
First line!!
“Emery sat stock still on the cold cement bench a hundred yards away from the service, her face brittle and dry in the winter chill.” ~ Razorblade Kisses by R.L. Griffin
Amy, I do love them both and I really want Logan to find love again!
How’s Razorblade Kisses??
*grins* I totally see Mason as you describe Amy. Just pure sexy. Diane M. I figured as much. Thank you for confirming it, though.
Amy, I’ve read Fallen Fourth Down. I’ll say it’s my least favorite, but you should definitely read it. At the end, Logan had a line that clenched my heart big time. I just wanted to hug him. No date for five yet. *sighs*
Tessa, does Logan ever find someone?
He’s going to get his own book! So hopefully that’s a yes?
It was high angst for me Amy, had a bit of an Arsen feel but the husband is the tattoo covered bad boy
Just finished King and I loved it!!! The heroine was really awesome and definitely made me love the book even more!! Does have a cliffhanger though…
Jean, too soon to say about Razorblade Kisses. I’m only 10% in so… *shrug* But any book which recommends whiskey as a good thing while reading it is a book for me! Except I’ll replace the whiskey with vodka. 😉
Sounds perfect, Diane! 😀
Diane, WHAT!!?? A trilogy and a cliffhanger!!! Good to know that and now I’ll be putting it on my tbr list until it is complete.
Amy, Curveball is a 2 book series by Teresa Michael’s. At least I’m pretty sure it’s just 2 books. 😉
Reading Blue now. So far it has not been a lot of angst; some sadness, and a slow-burn relationship with the a$$hole H (for a good reason) and a strong, athlete, h. (ok she’s a cheerleader, but she trains hard) 😉
“Blue, you have mail.” BLUE by HJ BELLUS.
I KNOOOW Cheryl, I had NO idea, there were no reviews when I started. But, I was that into it when I found out, I totally didn’t care & I usually do
Amy- keep that book moral compass loose to keep your real one on track (;
Okay, the stepdad in Razorblade kisses? Yeah, he’s knocked Richie from E&P out of the running for a$$hat of the year. I wanna cut off his junk and stick all the parts on the face of a scarecrow. Grrrrrr…
Thanks Cheryl! Click. Of course. 😉
THAT was awesome Diane!!!! *hands martini to Diane* Cheers!!
*swoops in and swipes that martini*
Whoops!! Sorry Diane. *snort* 😛
the Martini bandit strikes again. Hahaha
*looks at empty hand* MARYYYYYYYSE!!!!
*side whispers to Diane* She’s not sorry! See how she is a-smirkin’ over there while she’s a-sippin’ on the martini? *points to Maryse*
Oh well…I love any excuse to make more martinis!! 😀
LOL!! it’s fine, Amy, she can have it, i’m too tired to drink after staying up all night reading and i have a massive book hangover already so……
And thank you Amy! i great at justifying questionable behavior
Questionable behavior. Tee hee!!!! #Sorrynotsorry.
LOL!!! 😛
Are ya sure, Diane? *holds out martini* I make a killer drink… *wiggles glass*
*peeks around for Maryse*
Quick, take it! I know she’s around here somewhere!!
Quick few freebies I see today…

Woot. Thank you Michelle! Have fun on your vacation.
Book Funk. Book Rut. My reading mojo is broke.
*points at Amy*
She did it.
(Not really Amy, I just like to blame others.)
I made a list. A list of 14 books I meant to read or started to read or are due back.
I am off now to scale that mountain. You will not hear from me until I have conquered it. And gotten my mojo back.
This could take awhile. Wish me luck.
I’m making my new TBR list too, bev. I gotta get organized…
14 books! ah…good luck Bev, that’s a mighty mountain
*slinks back to comfy couch*
Finished Blue. Overall, I really liked it up until about 90%. I just didn’t like the events leading up to the ending. Tuck’s reaction to the contents of the envelope and his 180 of protecting Blue especially after she had just confessed about what she was keeping from him. How Blue’s friends, especially Sophie then treated her. Blue’s appearance at the end. Confused about how much time really elapsed from the “envelope” till the end, weeks/months?? I did enjoy the epilogue.
Just started Curveball. It would seem the title has more meaning than baseball… 😉
Oooh, that last part changing things usually sucks. Still, 90% good and I know going in… maybe!
Still Thursday here. 9:18P So, first line
The Sound of the Sea
Twisted by Callie Hart
Is it me or do these have first lines that get progressively worse as the story continues?
Bev! Blaming me for something that’s not my fault??
Shame! Shame! Shame! *rings bell at Bev* <——– I'm just gonna be all kinds of embarrassed if no one gets that…
LOL Tessa!! You always get stuck with those first lines! 😛
So I finished pierced Amy you didn’t tell me it was a series!!! Now I will have to read the other ones!!! I don’t know if I’m in the mood for it right now though don’t know what I’m in the mood for 🙁 have you read where one goes yeah Amy? After hours? *gets peanuts ready*
You gotta be careful with that shame bell. Remember the look on Cersei’s face when she got to the castle? Yeah… Bev might get that look if you start!
Maryse, never be sorry for stealing martinis unless their mine! Martinis are meant to be stolen!
Oh no! That is NOT what I want…
*hides bell behind back* Hugs, Bev?
Laura, I thought you knew it was a series! At least the series is complete, and book 3 has some SEXY TIME!!! Sounds like you’re in a book funk like some of us have been…that’s been going around here like that nasty bug was. 😕
“#Sorrynotsorry” <—- SEE???
I love Diane's way of thinking though… 😉
I need help. I need a recommendation that’s going to knock my socks off. The kind of book that can’t be put down. The kind you walk around with your ereader in your hand and call in sick to work over.
The problem has reached epic proportions. I have 6 books started plus 2 betas. I have 8 in my “read next” category and 14 in my “must read” category, but I’m afraid of starting anything else.
Please ladies, give me your all time favorite read of forever. Hopefully I haven’t read it yet and it will knock me out of this yucky fog I’m in.
You are HYSTERICAL Amy!! You guys are too much fun, what a great community
Fabi for me it’s Jojo Moyes, especially Last letter from your lover. Only book I’ve ever re-read
Thanks Diane. I downloaded a sample. It sounds pretty serious. Nothing like what I usually read. Awesome rec. Thanks.
Favorite book ever? Gah! Random top picks are easier. You’ve seen my goodreads list, and it’s not even near all I’ve read! A list not including any unfinished series (except the first, cause I’m insane about that series!).

I love these lists… maybe I should post YOUR favorites lists. Like dedicate a post to the “favorites list” for each of our crew. We all have similar tastes, BUT some of our fellow readers might lean more towards let’s say… MichelleS and bev’s historical romance tastes, or me and Amy’s “destructively angsty” tastes… etc etc.
I like this idea!! 😀
Thank you Jean. I haven’t read almost any of those.
Good luck…. Hate book ruts! I have so many books screaming my name right now, but trying to finish the third book of Fallen Crest series!
I was thinking about starting FCH. I have the first book. ButvIbwas afraid to start it. hahaha
Sweeeeet idea. I would challenge myself to read the top five of everyone’s list.
I would love to see everyone’s lists! I didn’t really do it in any kind of order, just what came to mind.
Fabi, FCH has taken a lot of my time in the last week and a half…..felt like I needed to complete it though once I started. FABI, Sea of Tranquility!!!!!!! Unforgettable, unputdownable, and still remember the last line!!!!
Great!!! Keep ’em coming then… I’ll dedicate one post to each of your favorites lists, and post ’em once or twice a week. Get a nice recommendations category from all of us. I’d LOVE that!
Everyone already knows what my favorites are… 😛
Fabi – I think everyone knows by now that my favorite of all time is the Tairen Soul Series. I know you read book one – but you haven’t experienced the beauty, the magic, the pain, the twists and turns until you have read all 5. You could pick up where you left off?
I also loved Golden Dynasty like crazy. Did you read the others in that series? They are great too. Also by K. Ashley: I loved Fairytale Come Alive. Did you ever read that one?
Did you ever read Finding Home by L. Baker? Maryse recommended it when I was in a slump and needed a single good read (no series). It was fantastic.
“Destructively angsty” <——– HECK YEAH!!!!
I love that idea of everyone's favorites lists! Oh man, am I gonna have fun putting mine together… *rubs hands together*
I need to include the Reed Brothers series by Tammy Falkner, Up in the Air Series and Tristan and Danika series (without a doubt) by R.K.Lilley!!!!
*busily taking notes for RECs* This is fun guys. 🙂
MichelleS I’ve read all of those except Fairytale Come Alive. It’s the first time I’ve noticed you mention it. I’ve read all your RECs, though you’re right that I need to continue the series.
I started FCH, with a little trepidation because I don’t want another I squirrel away from. But so far its great!
Maryse, I think I’ve read your top five also but you should list them again so I can make sure. I live my new little challenge. 😉
Jean I’ve heard SoT mentioned several times. I’ll have to check it out. I never have before because of the title, but I will now.
Don’t let the title sway you Fabi, and I know Maryse agrees with me on this one!!
Oh and I want to add the Surviving Raine and Evan Arden series by Shay Savage. OK I think I’m done for now!
MichelleS , I haven’t heard anything about Fairytale Come Alive either….. I loved Golden Dynasty also!
Thanks Jean. Those last two I’ve read and loved. I mean…LOVED
i forgot about the Lonely and Lost Boy by Tara Brown!! The only other book i’ve re-read lol, LOVE those books, super dark but an all time favorite tortured hero
Ooohhh that one sounds wicked Diane. I love gritty books. The more tortured the character, the better.
I’m at 23% of FCH and its not at all what I expected. Its a whole lot deeper and darker. I’m loving it. And still reading it, yeah me. Or rather, yeah you guys since its the first of all the RECs I’m going to read. 🙂
*gasps and peeks over to watch, eyes wide*
*whispers to Amy* She’s reading it!
38% and its soooo good. I have no idea where its going or who the good guys are or if everyone is crazy, but its gooood.
*grabs Tessa’s arm*
😯
*whisper-shouts* And she’s LOVING it!!!!
Lol yeah I’m definitely loving it
Fabi!!! I’m gonna give it another go soon too, starting with book 1 this time lol (I made it to Chapter nine in Mason and I do remember being into it, have no idea why I stopped)
I know what you mean Diane. I have no idea why I squirreled away from those other books I Was reading. They are all good. I just kept getting distracted by another one. Sometimes its just mood and nothing else really. I totally plan on going back and finishing them. But I’m really into FCH. It has a bit of a creepy factor for me. It’s not the typical YA I read. I haven’t even gotten to the part where I fall in love with Logan and Mason yet. I’m at the part where I think she’s crazy and I wish I had an Adam asking me out.
Diane, so you started to read Mason first? To me, I think reading about him from Sam’s POV in the FCH books is what made us all fall for him…reading his story in Mason was just an added bonus. 😉
And yep Fabi, it definitely has a grown-up YA feel to it!
Also, Mason is a conglomeration of parts of the story, not the full story. I’d think it’d get confusing fast. :/
@65% I am in book heaven. Sleep? Meh…it’s over rated.
Re: party at the lake – These are some seriously mature teenagers.
Okay I’m officially sold, gonna start again as soon as I have reading time. That’s definitely it, I liked it and Mason seemed great but I wasn’t really following it, reloaded and starting w/ Ch 1. Thanks ladies!!
Yeah! It should be less confusing than trying to read Mason first. Leave that one for after three. Hope you enjoy. Even if not, tell us. *grins*
Woohoo Diane. 🙂 Heads up, the editing is atrocious. But the story is so captivating that you just keep reading.
Tessa? Amy? Is Sam really messed up? I mean, everyone is messed up, but Sam in particular?
Oh and a side note for anyone who has hesitated reading FCH thinking its a YA novel. It is not. The characters are high school age, 17-18, but in no way is this a YA book. I read a lot of YA, and this isn’t one of them.
Yeah, Sam’s messed up. More than just what you read happened messed her up. YA… yeah, only the author thinks it’s YA. Honestly, I never thought it was. Too much happens that’s normally not allowed in YA. Too dark!
Fabi, what do you mean by messed up? I always saw Sam as just dealing the best way she could with all of the circumstances thrown at her. Ugh, can’t stand her mom! And I agree…if the setting wasn’t in high school then I would think these characters were in college. Maybe that’s what makes the series so appealing. 😉
One thing I noticed was that the author’s writing seemed to develop more with the subsequent books…like the liquor scene in the kitchen with Mason, Logan, Sam and Sam’s mom? Yeah, that was a little outlandish to me but there weren’t any other scenes as over-the-top as that one in the other books.
Tessa, I think I’ve guessed at some of Sam’s past (at least a part of it).
It is seriously dark and all the characters are messed up.
I found many scenes over the top but it all fits in with the messed up lives and personalities these characters have.
It’s fascinating. I’m at the end and now I’m just sipping at the pages because I don’t want to leave this crazy world of theirs.
Hehe, I’m beginning to think that I’M the messed up one (shut it PG :P) ’cause I think Sam is pretty even keeled…then again, when I think of “messed up” I think of the h’s from books like Marrow and Easy Virtue. 😉
Fabi…dive right into the next book and you won’t have to leave their crazy world! 😀
Ah, well, I haven’t read either of those. And when I say “messed up” with regards to Sam, I’m referring to a person who has more than they can deal with in life. Like kids who cut themselves or escape into drugs or whatever. Not that she does any of that, and not to give away spoilers, but if you’ve read it you probably know what I’m referring to.
Oh, I don’t know about going on. Didn’t you guys say it was an incomplete series? And, that the author has been mia with it? *shudder* I don’t want to get to an “almost” ending and get stuck at the edge of a cliff forever.
Oh and Shiite ladies….way to kick me out of my book funk. :-). Hurray for RECs!
Aha, gotcha Fabi…and I completely agree with you about her having more than she can deal with so she deals with it the only way she knows how.
It *is* an incomplete series but I didn’t feel there was a CH or anything after the third book. I haven’t read the fourth as I am waiting for the fifth…but that may change soon ’cause I’m missing those characters. 😉
I don’t think this is a spoiler question, but if you think it is just say so…
Do they get past the high school scene in subsequent books?
Not a spoiler question, at least not to me (and y’all know how u am about that!)…as of the third book it’s still in high school but with all of the adult-like situations it still doesn’t feel YA.
Oh, and you want to hear about a messed up character…Emery from Razorblade Kisses. Holy crap this book has me all tensed up!
Lol Amy, that title alone has me all tensed up.
Fourth one ends like the third. It ends, with even less of an ooooo than third. Fourth, Mason’s in college and fifth, all of them will be. Oh, and she’s not MIA, she’s writing it. It’s just until she knows when, she won’t say when it will be released. Last I heard, she’s hoping for before 2015 ends.
Her writing does get better with each book. I think any good writer gets better with each book, learning as they go along. *grins*
I liked how 1 ended. It wasn’t a cliffhanger. It seemed like the natural conclusion to the story. Do they all end like that? I mean, no cliffhangers right?
Right!
As much as I want to just keep going in the series, I also want to continue on my personal challenge of reading everyone’s favorite’s. I downloaded a sample of Diane’s Last Letter yesterday and I want to give it a shot because it’s outside of what I would normally read. I need to make a spreadsheet of everyone’s recs unless Maryse is going to create those blog posts, then I can just reference those.
I totally am gonna create the blogposts so keep your “ABSOLUTE FAVORITES” lists coming. I’ll put one up right now, in fact…
Just finished FCH series this morning. I loved the third book!! And I loved how it ended! Soooo great! I loved Mason, but something about Logan…I don’t know ….I just really loved him!!!!
Oh no oh no oh no, more temptation thrown my way. Can I resist? Grrr, I don’t know if I can.
BTW, at the end of the first book, I’m kind of partial to Logan too. Not to mention I don’t want to mess with Tessa’s book husband. I’m also still partial to Adam. Something worse has to happen because I have a soft spot for him right now.
Yes, keep reading Fabi! Glad to hear I’m not the only one with a soft spot for Logan!!!!
If there is one character Is love to meet in person (after book 1 only), it would have to be Garrett. I think I swooned a little over him. At least I think that’s what that dizzzy, breathless feeling was. 😉
Yes Fabi! Do it and i’ll start FCH and catch up with you!!
Ugh, I saw your post AFTER I bought FCH2. I think you’ll catch up anyways, ’cause apparently I read slow.
ugh, i never finished Signal bend and i’d been looking forward to that for a while and i was into it but i squirreled big time and now i’m squirreling again lol. But Last Letter ain’t going anywhere, so you just started 2?
Hey, you caught my squirrelies bug. lol
Yup, I literally just started 2.
ok, i’ll start 1 asap! Just ended a crazy day (my daughter’s softball team won their championship, SO proud!!) so probably tomorrow. Happy reading! so happy you’re out of your funk.
A big congrats for your daughter! 🙂
That’s great Maryse. It’ll be easier to keep track of who recommended what this way. I reallyvwant to read everyone’s favorite book(s). Do you have a particular number of favorites you want listed? I know its difficult for many of us to pick a single one. Also, are these “all-time” favorites?
Bev… I’d say about ten would be a good number to stick to (but it can be more or less) – no strict #.
Also ANY genre. There can be children’s books, or autobiographies, or horror, or ANYTHING. Your absolute favorites.
I’m not sure I understand either. I’m horrible with favorites. If talking about all time favorites, well that’s only a few and majority classics. I love a lot of the books I read and have favorites or ones I think are fun to read but not one’s I hold up to Jane Eyre, you know.
Though Jane Eyre has a wonderful romance and angst. Or say to To Kill a Mockingbird. I loved Sweet Dreams but not the same way.
Ugh, does this sound horrible?
Bev, that doesn’t sound weird to me at all. One of my favs is Pygmalion. Others were written 50+ years ago. It just depends on what Maryse wants on the list and how long it should be. We all have so many favorite reads that I know its hard to come up with a short list. We need parameters. hahaha
Holy moly my freaking legs…went on a hike today to a waterfall, and the waterfall was beautiful but the hike there worked my legs and a$$ over. Sometimes I forget that my body is not as young as I think it is. *snort* I’m not going ANYwhere tonight or tomorrow. Just going to rest and read! 😀
I was thinking the same thing about the favorites list ladies…what I think I’m going to do is make a list of no more than ten books/series that may or may not be five-star reads for me but were books that had me reliving scenes over and over in my head or had me actually going back to re-read certain parts just to relive them, or they are books that I still think about in detail months or years later.
Supper and then getting to that list. Carne asada, spanish rice and black beans…oh yummy… 😛
Oh, and I’m pretty crazy about Logan too. 😀 He is as protective of Sam as Mason is, and I LOVE him for that…and his sense of humor as well. 😉
I just saw that JEAN’S list is up!! *whooping*
Your turn Amy!!!! 😀
So — umm — Amy, when are you inviting me over for dinner? (I can barely boil water without burning it). Your meals always sound delicious.
Seriously yummy, Amy.
Yeah, I’ll have to think on this or (over think).
I really do not rate my books. Only maybe to agree with someone’s or disagree for level I differ. Never gave it much thought. But I have books that I enjoy so much, and yes re read or remember the feeling they gave me. Would totally throw them out as recs. But then books I hold apart. For many reasons. Like I said I’m horrible picking favorites, lol.
Hey I need to add The opportunist series Tarryn Fisher and Madeline Sheehan’s Undeniable series!!! And Pulse and Collide Gail McHugh……I don’t know if I can stop.
hahaha stopping is the biggest problem for most of us. I’m going to list my top 10 all time favorites. But I may have to revise and rerevise my list a few times before submitting it. Lol
*scoffs* Thanks Jean, you keep taking the ones I wanted to put on my list and are using them first on yours, so now I’ll just look like a copycat! Wait…maybe that’s a good thing ’cause it will help me narrow down my list!
And my list is coming, Maryse. 😉 I’m narrowing it down while stuffin’ my face full of Mexican yumminess. I’m talking about FOOD, you dirty-minded ladies. 😛
Seriously guys, carne asada is soooooo easy…just go to a local Mexican market and ask for carne asada with seasoning, throw it on the indoor or outdoor grill, wrap it up in corn or flour tortillas with some cheese and guacamole and that’s it! And I would SO have y’all over to cook for you in a heartbeat!!! 😀
