Happy NEW RELEASE DAY my friends!! Lots of goodies below, and a few that had me automatically one-clicking, and a few more that had me sampling. But…
<— look what’s live on Amazon! I know SOOOOOOO many in our reading-crew have been anxiously awaiting this installment in a much loved R.K. Lilley series, and “Bad Things” (book #1) has been on my main TBR list for a while. Too long, in fact, considering it’s a ROCK STAR book, and considering how so many of my like-minded book buds loved it.
So…. guess what I’m currently reading? Tee hee! I know you already know ’cause I’ve been spouting it for a day now. But yes, I’m finally “on it”! 😉 P.S. Here’s the “Tristan & Danika Series Reading Order” (and they DO have to be read in order). Luckily book #1 is on sale right now. 😀
A bunch below that have me curious and sampling… but these have me especially excited today: The Fixed Trilogy (I one-clicked that deal!), Coming Home (sounds like the perfect book, for me), Lovely Trigger, and All These Pieces of Me (scarred hero, and it’s been on my TBR-curious list for awhile now).
So… what’s everyone else reading right now?
P.S. Let me know if I’m missing any or if you loved any (from this list or elsewhere).
P.P.S. I also included some highly anticipated pre-orders down at the bottom.
BARGAINS (NOTE: bargain priced when I added them, but prices can change on Amazon, so make sure to check before you finalize your order).
- Bad Things (Tristan & Danika’s story) <— on sale right now! This is what I’m reading right now. 😀
- Wanted: A Most Wanted Novel by J. Kenner <— Book Bash author alert!! Looks like this series has that Fifty/Bared feel and #1!
- Down and Dirty (A Dare Me Novel) (Entangled Brazen) by Christine Bell <— Aimee found us this special! “A self-professed infatuation junky, she latches on the newest, hottest guy on the block, then finds a reason—real or imagined—to dump him. When she accepts a dare to rekindle her high school flame and jump in bed with her brother’s best friend, Shane Decker, she knows she’s in trouble.“
- All These Pieces of Me (The Stables) by C.E. Kilgore <— SCARRED HERO ALERT! Aimee found us this deal too. Oh I remember seeing this one when it was released a few months ago. “To say that I’m ugly is like saying a cemetery is quiet. Okay, maybe parts of me are attractive, sure. I’d gotten more than my share of second, hungry glances from women at clubs. Then I’d turn to the other side and they’d get a nice big glimpse of Quasimodo. Only the desperately drunk or the ‘I can fix you’ chicks took a third look.”
- What’s Yours is Mine by Talia Quinn <— Oh this sounds like fun, too. They HATE each other (for good reason – bad business four years ago) and then… “Darcy discovers when she stumbles into her condo after a long business trip and discovers she’s not alone. Someone else has moved in. Will Dougherty. And he says it’s not her place, it’s his.” <— Thanks Aimee!!
- Ruined: An Ethan Frost Novel; A Loveswept New Adult Romance by Tracy Wolff <— this recent release is on sale too! (thanks Aimee!!)
- In Kelly’s Corner (Fighting Connollys #1) by Roxie Rivera <— FIGHTER ALERT!! Lori found us this deal! “After a stalker breaks into her home, internet entrepreneur Bee Langston decides Kelly Connolly is the only man who can help her–but seeking help from the former Marine isn’t easy, especially after she made a spectacular fool of herself trying to kiss the sinfully sexy bodyguard.” <— oh… unrequited book love and embarrassment at making the first move is so fun! In books, that is. 😉
- The Fixed Trilogy: Fixed on You, Found in You, Forever with You by Laurelin Paige <— Kat found us this deal for this bundled series!! Another book is coming out soon, so YAY!! <— Er… is SHE the stalker? WHOA! “Stalking and restraining orders are a thing of Alayna Wither’s past. With her MBA newly in hand, she has her future figured out–move up at the nightclub she works at and stay away from any guy who might trigger her obsessive love disorder.” Christina says: “Ohhhhh! Get this if you have not read them yet!!!!” and Paulette agrees: “Great series and price!”
- Knight and Play (The Knight Trilogy, Erotic Romance Series) by Kitty French <— here’s one from last year that is super-popular!! (thanks Aimee!) “From the moment girl-next-door Sophie accepts the job as Lucien Knight’s PA, she understands how Alice must have felt when she tumbled down the rabbit hole. Lucien takes her safe, vanilla life away and plunges her head first into a huge dish of fantasy flavors.” <— Stephanie says: “Love this book!!!” (here is The Knight Trilogy Reading Order“
- Game Changer (Hells Saints Motorcycle Club) by Paula Marinaro <— BIKER BOOK ALERT and Kandace says: “I read this and really liked it. It’s one of those books if you just sit down and read you’ll enjoy it. A few parts were a little shaky but I thought over all it was a great story. I’d definitely recommend it.”
- Coming Home by Priscilla Glenn <— this one sounds awesome, and Sadie LOVED it. “Highly recommend Coming Home by Priscilla Glenn. Don’t know why I didn’t read this sooner since I really liked Back To You. The realistic slow build of the love story was what I was in the mood for. No insta love or fake drama. Danny gave me butterflies. Standalone. Read it. 🙂“

- Stolen Desire (Outlawed Realm) by Tina Donahue <— Oh I LOVE being in a bar and being taken by/enthralled with a sexy paranormal alpha male. FUN! In books, I mean. 😉 In BOOKS. Tee heeeeee!!! “One minute, Paige Ross is outside a Seattle bar, grieving a failed engagement. The next, she jerks awake in a weird, candlelit room with velvet walls, black silk sheets, and a man who motions for silence. Paige has little choice but to trust the powerful stranger who promises a way out of what looks like Satan’s brothel.” Sounds like it could be fun.

- Black Box by Cassia Leo <— ROCK START ALERT!?? Oh this sounds good! Their paths keep crossing (first time good, 2nd time tragic!!), he can’t forget her, wrote a song about her… “He has no expectations of fame and he’s never felt like his life had any purpose… until he meets Mikki in Terminal B. When Mikki and Crush cross paths for the third time in Terminal B, neither has any idea who the other person is; until they slowly piece together their history and realize that fate has more in store for them than just another love story.“
- Aftershock (book #2 – Cosmo Red-Hot Reads from Harlequin) by Sylvia Day <— book #2 after “Afterburn” (see my review and interview with Sylvia, here)
- Mine To Crave (Mine – Romantic Suspense) by Cynthia Eden
- Desire (Isaac & Maya #2) by Ember Chase
- Burning Down the House by Allie Gail <— er… Okay I have no clue about this one. The synopsis intrigues me but makes me wonder where this book is going… Is it dark? is it romance? Is it YA? Is he dangerous? The high school goth turned sports-star… “The attraction is undeniable. The temptation is irresistible. And soon they’re sharing more than just an address. But with another life lost in a deliberately set blaze, Sara’s trust is faltering. Has she lost her heart to a serial arsonist? He’s already shown her the allure of playing with fire. - Forbidden Fruit: Volume 1 <— “10 Novellas about sexy, taboo relationships” bundled into this Anthology!
- Stirred Up 1 by Angela Graham & S.E. Hall
- Tattoo (Take It Off) by Cambria Hebert <— Can this author write a synopsis, or what?! Whoooooo just reading this blurb makes me go WHOA!! “…he makes a routine stop at the bank and finds himself flirting with the girl behind the counter. But his flirtation is cut short when criminals burst into the bank and shoot her right before his eyes. In attempt to administer first aid, Brody reveals a tattoo on his back. A mark that will drag him and the girl into the kind of situation he was trying to get away from. But he can’t walk away because he’s the only thing capable of keeping Taylor alive and bringing down the guys who shot her–guys who are seriously dangerous.” Here is the Take It Off Series Reading Order (although author says they can all be read as standalones. Each one is it’s own story). I read one from the middle a few months ago and enjoyed it well enough. I think I needed more detail and a slow-down in the story progression to really connect, but I’m curious about this one!
- Invincible (The Trident Code) by by Alana Albertson <— CRAZY sounding blurb (and quite dirty, at first) but then… “She whispered in a distinct Californian accent, “My name is Annie Hamilton. I’m an American citizen. I was kidnapped from a cruise ship five years ago. You’re my last hope. Please save me.” —-> WHOA! Some of our fellow readers really enjoyed, and some didn’t connect as much. Curious if anyone here has read it?

Coming Home was a great read! Story builds at a good pace and then you get a whaaaa???? (similar to full measures in that sense). Danny was/is delish and his chemistry with Leah was awesome.
Enjoy
BTW I just finished Aftershock by Sylvia Day in one sitting! In true Ms. Day fashion the chemistry is off the charts but the book was not what I expected and it was short and rushed. Almost felt like I was given a pacifier until Gideon makes another appearence….(i don’t mind too much) but I don’t know….if its 100 pages why charge for a full book???
I finished Invincible on Sunday – it was a good read – a lot of Seal info/oaths/pledges/quotes. Reminded me a little bit of Jasinda Wilder’s book Wounded but with a little less intensity.
All These Pieces of Me was good too though I think it would’ve been better without the BDSM. Just sayin’. But I liked it! 🙂
Maryse, you will love Coming Home! So flippin good. I liked it so much I’m reading Back To You now. Glad to see lots of good books listed, may try Pieces of Me next 🙂
I was going to start the Tristan & Danika series this past weekend, but my OCD need to keep things in order kicked in and I started the Up In the Air series first (T&D is a spinoff from UITR). UITR has the whole Fifty Shades feel to it in many ways but nevertheless is still…let me put it this way – have you ever watched the grownup cartoon Archer? The character Pam made a comment one time about her panties, a toddler and drowning. I think you can figure that one out. 😉 Too crude? I’ve said worse. 😛
I started reading Black Box by Cassia Leo but I just had a hard time getting into it. I read about 50% but decided to walk away. 🙁
Maybe Someday – if it is even close to the sample it is going to be amazing.
I am a fan of Sofia Grey, I’m so excited to read Crash Into me! Thank you for sharing all these great books!!!
Starting Crash Into Love! LOVE Sofia Grey. 🙂
Starting #2 of the Kathleen Turner series. I also started Burn For Me by Cynthia Eden which is a paranormal romance book that was mentioned on this blog by a fellow reader and is why I decided to check it out. Very good so far! Also going to start Bad Things thanks to you people!! Lol I can handle three *gulp* I think… It’s all very very exciting!! 🙂
Coming Home was an ABSOLUTE beautiful read with a twist I never would’ve guessed!!!! It is a MUST read in my opinion!
You guys are making me grin with your enthusiasm! I think we’re hitting some good ones right now. 😀
So many on the list to read, yet all that praise for Sofia Greg had me curious, so instead I’m reading Obsession. I’m not sure how wise such an angsty premise is after Lovely Trigger, but it looks to good to resist.
Coming Home took me by surprise. Just something about her writing and characters. I was “with” them every step of the way. It’s refreshing to read a story where the smallest touch can make you *feel* more than some steamy scenes in other books. I love authors that make you work for it, you know? Great pacing and main and supporting characters too.
Elizabeth: And I love that it’s been mentioned that the love story is a sloooowwww burn. That’s what I like. Make me work for it. Make me pine for it. Make me crave it. THAT really has me intrigued. I need that.
Tessa…. Obsession? Okay now I gotta look that one up. 🙂
Read Bad Things first! 🙂 Oh, last name Grey, not Greg. Auto correct fail happened.
Maryse, I forgot to ask you before – since you are reading T&D, do you recognize the names Bianca, James or Stephan? I’m curious if I saved myself from some spoilery info by reading the Up In the Air series first.
Yep, that’s the one I’m on, and I’m not straying. So far, soooo good!
Maryse, I look forward to your lists every Tuesday and Friday! I just read Invincible. I was a bit disappointed….. I really wanted to
llike it and it started off great but it was tied up too quickly and too neatly. Just my opinion.
Coming Home was a fantastic read!!
Coming Home really touches the heart. Really loved and cried like a baby. Right now I’m just starting Rock Bottom and I have a feeling my heart is going to be bruised before I get to Lovely Trigger. Finished Driven trilogy last weekend. Brilliant!!!! Colton Donovan another book boyfriend. Oh and Tristan oh Lord. Amazing.
I have to add Coming Home. So many of you have loved it!
Maryse, you are so bad for my TBR list, but I love your site 🙂
I love all of your opinions!!! Good, awesome and “meh”. We all crave that next 5-star favorite that we can all go crazy for, together, so I love that you guys share what you think.
This is why I love you!!! I have been waiting for J. Kenner’s Wanted book to go on sale (it was $7.99). thank you for posting that it is on sale for $1.99…I one clicked that biotch! lol
My pleasure, Melissa and Jennifer!! 😀 This is how I keep track of what’s new and what’s bargain priced, too.
The last book in the Breathe series by Rachel Brookes is finally out. Just Breathe, Breathless, & Breathe Again. Tate & Savannah are AWESOME!
I just picked up a copy of Maybe Someday!!!! So excited. I will need lots of coffee tomorrow
I read Coming Home by Priscilla Glenn and gave it my ONLY 11 cupcake review on my book blog. It is an EXCELLENT book.
Just started reading Sinners At The Alter. Who keeps turning up that damn thermostat? Jeez it’s hot in here! 🙂
Olivia Cunning and all her Sinners are awesome and it’s so fun to hang out with them again. Great list of bargains, Maryse. I read J Kenner’s Wanted and it was pretty good. The H/h are interesting characters and have super-hot chemistry, but I felt like the end was a little rushed. Going to read Harper Sloan’s Uncaged next. I love her Corps Security series and all those hot alphas in bad-ass super-protective mode!
I loved Crash Into Me. Sweet and hot, just how I like ’em!
Fixed trilogy are great reads! Highly recommend I loved that she was a stalker in her past…good twist. Reading the second in Amelia Hutchins taunting destiny series….soo good!
Maryse I’ve read all the pieces of me and it was so sweet and heartbreaking AND a bit of filth added lol but the best thing is do u know it’s the 1st in a series called the stables? And book 2 is already out!! Yay
Laura, I had no idea!!! Thank you SO much for telling me you enjoyed it. I love sweet, heartbreaking and filth. LOL!!!! Okay, I’m going to re-do my official TBR list, and post it soon, and I think that’ll be on it. Is book #2 about different characters, do you know?
I read Off The Record last night and I was so disappointed! The blurb made it sound so good and it was just… there. However, tonight I started on No Turning Back and I’m really enjoying it, so it’s all good!
Celeste,
The Tiffany Snow series is HUGE amongst our group and I hear each book gets better and better. Book #4 is supposed to put us in a crazy tail-spin, so I’m anxious for that. 🙂
Amy, you get a very small glimpse of tristan and danika in up in air series, just enough to peek your curiosity, but nothing spoilerish. I do think it helps reading up in air series first which I did. Love both series, but T&D’s story just rocked my world!!!
Jean… I’m loving it so far! Tristan and his showers. Tee heeeeeee! *blush*
Just started Night Broken, by Patricia Briggs. Was released yesterday. Number 8 in her Mercedes Thompson Series. I am in love with this series. Best werewolf world building / urban fantasy for me; and Adam Hauptmann is so uber hot. I actually put down the Summer Garden (Bronze Horseman number 3) to read this. I am loving the Bronze Horseman Trilogy – thank you for recommending it – I just need breaks in between because they are lengthy and pretty heavy with pain and suffering. I’ll finish that when I’m done with Night Broken. Then…. who knows… I am hoping Maryse will get a little nutso over a five star read and I can chase her dreams…. 🙂
Michelle, I love when I get 5-star nutso… that’s my favorite feeling! 😛
Amy I’ve never watched that cartoon, but I am curious now. Is it on cable? I’m gonna look it up on Youtube. hehe
Renate, #1 was pretty good. I think I 4-starred it but I agree, they are quite short, but the way #1 ended, had #2 been out I would have definitely jumped right back in.
Now I think I’d need to backtrack a bit to remember what happened. I know his father was spooky…
Michelle, *whooooo* I know, right? Her books are S-T-E-A-M-Y!!
I remember I couldn’t believe my eyes when I read Sinners #1. I’d read “sex scenes” before (you know… paranormal romance is loaded in descriptive steam)… but OMG I had NEVER read anything like that before. LOL!
But I loved that she really dug deep, feeling and relationship wise that ti didn’t just end up being a whole load of erotica.
I one clicked All These Pieces of Me. I sampled it a while ago but was waiting for a sale (cause I’m cheap, not because the sample wasn’t good!). It definitely hooked me! My son is autistic so I’m intrigued with the female lead, who is autistic (notice the puzzle piece on the book cover? I’m sure that was done on purpose)
I one-clicked In Flight and Bad Things based on all the good reviews, can’t wait to dig into those…. need to finish Aftershock first.
The Fixed Trilogy is SO worth the price. I read it and loved it, and for 99 cents you cannot go wrong!
Here’s a clip from that Archer episode. Looks like it was taken with a cell phone so it’s kinda crappy, but it’s only 9 seconds:
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=4adUFLvLVJI
LOL! My hubby watches it on Netflix. It’s grown on me. 😉
Maryse book 2 is obsessive compulsion(the stables) and yes it’s about 2 different characters but you meet them in book 1! I haven’t read book 2 yet but both deal with certain issues (and that’s not even really the heros scars!) the heroine totally has stuff going on but it’s so sweet the way he deals with her and all the characters have some sort of ‘issue’ and they kind of make them better at the stables that’s all I will say!! Oh let me know when u decide to read it!
Read Invincible last night and was really excited for it…. Ended up being disappointed. What started out as a really great premise, fell apart. There was no connection to the characters, the instant love was not at all to be believed and the ending was just silly. On a positive note, Coming Home was FANTASTIC!!! One of my favs that I’ve read so far this year!
Up in the Air and Tristan and Danika were two awesome series and I am so excited for Mr. Beautiful, which is coming up next. I highly recommend reading both series – Up in the Air first! Starting Spin next, by C.D. Reiss (Songs of Dominance) and I cannot wait!!! Songs of Submission was AMAZING!!!
I received an ARC of Black Box and loved it! It was very different and unexpected from my other Cassia Leo books, but I really enjoyed it. It really took me to unexpected places. I thought it was a devastatingly beautiful story
One clicked a few today, but the description of The Black Box really looked interesting. Well, that turned out to be the-house-is-a-and-take-out-for -dinner kind of books. When people say books we’re read in one sitting, that’s this book, you are just drawn to these broken character. Their story will gut you. This is a stand alone book. By far, the author’s best book.
Read the Tristan and Danika series. For me, it initially took me a little while to get into it and then wow what a DYSFUNCTIONAL couple. With the start of Lovely Trigger I was an emotional wreck. What a ride!!
What a great list Marise! I read ‘Crash into Love as an ARC. Great short story. Really sweet read.
I just finished Destroyed by Pepper Winters. What an amazing story! This is going on my best of 2014 list. No cliffhangers on this one. It starts as dark read but it had me in tears 90% through and smiling at the end. That’s how it should be 🙂
Just finished Fixed on You series…..GREAT, love, mystery, heartbreak and well the end……it was the best bargain….
