in Latest Book Releases

Happy New Release Day!! We’re already struggling with trying to choose our next read from of this list, ’cause SO many sound gooooooood. And even though I *thought* I finally chose my next, I’m wavering, ’cause I’m in the mood for quite a few very different premises. :P

Here are some that have my tummy clenching from all the blurb-jolting: Where Lightning Strikes (first, ’cause I LOVE this author, and also because she’s a bartender and he’s a famous rock star… I always love how those go), COLLARED (another author that I love, and she’s been saved from years of being held hostage, but now she’s got to figure out how to live!! GAH! I love the sound of that!), The Enforcer (another one of my favorite authors, and he’s been groomed to be a mafia enforcer since childhood), Ginger’s Heart (I absolutely LOVE the sound of every single book in this series, and the modern-day fairy tale retelling premise, and this one sounds like an intense love triangle between good and evil), All That Jazz (I just finished the first two books in this series and loved it, and this is a side-character that I got a kick out of and her own unrequited pining), Beyond The Cage (she’s a pre-med student, and he’s an MMA fighter that is silent and brooding – a gentle giant, but bad-a$$) and… Music Notes (she’s on a singing competition TV show, and one of the judges fixates on her – OH YES!! I want to read this!).

BREAKING NEWS UPDATE!!!! Okay now I have to add these awesome “just-released” (and/or reader-finds) that our crew has mentioned in the comments!!!! See ‘em below in their respective categories – I posted them at the end of each one, so you can’t miss ‘em. ;) One new release, and two reader finds!

And then the next few days (and next week’s releases)?!!! *thud* AMAZING.

P.S. Let me know if I’m missing any or if you loved any (from this list or elsewhere).

P.P.S. Don’t have a Kindle? No problem! Amazon offers various free Kindle apps and a free Kindle Cloud reader for any and ALL of us to use. You can either use the free Kindle App for your smartphone, tablet, AND your desktop computer (just like you’re using a Kindle, but right through your web browser <— No need to download anything!)

AUDIOBOOK L:DVERS

For those going on a road trip soon, or maybe you’ve got some projects that require both hands this weekend but still allows you to “listen”… check out the free audible trial + 2 free audiobooks deal —>

  • AND! Here’s the fun-tool again! —> Find out which of YOUR Kindle books are available as audiobooks at a BARGAIN-PRICE! <— This thing is so cool (Amazon calls it “Matchmaker“)! It’s an Amazon feature, that scans your Kindle books and will list all of the ones you have that are also available as an audiobook at a discounted price (not normal audiobook prices). This way, you can switch back and forth, seamlessly between your ebooks and your audiobooks. VERY COOL!

I STARTED COLLARED!!!!!!!! WAS GOING TO READ LOST BY KER DUKEY BUT COLLARED!

Maryse March 22, 2016 at 9:42 AM

Ela…. I have NO CLUE what to start next.

Collared or Jazz? What do I choose? Or do I pick A.L. Jackson’s latest? I don’t… I?? … GAH!!!!!

Ela March 22, 2016 at 9:48 AM

Considering you have a nice Pepper Winters copy I’m not sure what YOU should read BUT I started Collared AND I HAVE THIS FEELING THIS WILL BE EPIC!

Maryse March 22, 2016 at 9:59 AM

LOL!!!!! Oh I want to start Pepper’s book but I think I’m saving that one for this weekend (it comes out that following week). YAY!!!!!

So help me choose. Okay… Collared!!

Lisa Kay March 22, 2016 at 10:20 AM

Maryse…..I am excited about the new Bella Jewel book, getting ready to start reading it. Was so excited to see it was released.

I also have a dumb question to ask, how do you and your readers keep up with the books you read from (Kindle Unlimited)? I just started a book that I had already read, but didn’t realize it until I was a third into it, and it was a kindle unlimited. When you purchase a book, Amazon will tell you when you purchased it, that way I can tell if I had read it before. I read about 15-20 books a month. Just curious, love the blog and thanks for keeping us well informed.

Young March 22, 2016 at 10:32 AM

Read over 3/4 of Wicked Sexy Liar by Christina Lauren. So fun and sweet and sexy!! Enjoying it very much :-) I love all books by Christina Lauren!

Ela March 22, 2016 at 10:55 AM

Lisa Kay I keep track of my books on Good Reads, which helps a lot. You can create categories etc.

Fabi March 22, 2016 at 11:01 AM

Yes, Lisa Kay, like Ela, I also use Goodreads. Many ladies here use spreadsheets.

Lisa Kay March 22, 2016 at 11:15 AM

Thanks Ela, and Fabi, I appreciate it the advice. I just wondered if there was a way to keep track instead of writing them down. I will try doing that on Good Reads.

Fabi March 22, 2016 at 11:22 AM

On GR, you can import all the books you’ve purchased, but you’ll have to manually add the ones from KU

Ela March 22, 2016 at 11:28 AM

OMG AT 23% OF COLLARED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHAT WHY WHY WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY

Fabi March 22, 2016 at 11:34 AM

wooaaa, Ela is having a meltdown and she’s only at 23%. Forget the margarita, somebody bring the bottle.

Ela March 22, 2016 at 11:38 AM

OK a little better now but OMG WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!! Totally did NOT see THAT coming!

I’ll take a few martinis, please ;)

Maryse March 22, 2016 at 11:52 AM

LOL!!!!!!!!! Okay I think that HAS to be my next read.

DG March 22, 2016 at 12:33 PM

You can import purchased to GR?!? How did I not know this??? Manually adding here and there….grrrrr.

Finished ⭐️Eversea and Forever Jack⭐️ …decisions, decisions. What to read now…Kept? Jazz? A Mess of a Man? The Wrath and the Dawn? Why Now? Collared? A Thousand Boy Kisses? (I love Tillie Cole’s book…just got to work myself up to this tear jerker!)

Fabi March 22, 2016 at 12:50 PM

DG you can import purchased from Amazon only. All others have to be manually entered or imported from a file (spreadsheet).

Quickest way to access the utility is from the GR home page. Upper right hand corner. Look for NEW! ADD YOUR AMAZON BOOKS” and you’ll see a button to click Get Started.

That’s the reason I started using GR right there. I know Amy recently added all of hers too.

Tessa March 22, 2016 at 12:54 PM

Lisa Kay, I use GR as well to keep track of the unlimited. However, if you aren’t a fan of the site, some people have made wishlist on Amazon and put their read books in there. I just like GR because I have just read so many books, it’s the only way for me to keep track.

Ela… Collared huh? *Wishlists it* I’m not buying any more books until Logan and Breaking Her are in my hands.

Finished Eversea. Sweet but predictable. Even the “hurt” pet barely registered due to predictability. Still, I enjoyed it and it made me smile and happy throughout the story. I love happy, sappy stories that make me laugh. Now onto book 2 after I read Maryse’s review of one. :)

Maryse March 22, 2016 at 12:55 PM

*sigh*

I still don’t know what to start. Celeste really loved She Dims the Stars, and I loved this author’s past book, and Celeste is pretty picky, and we have similar taste… so maybe THAT one?

Ela… how are you liking Collared?

Tessa March 22, 2016 at 12:56 PM

DG, let it import everything. It stopped letting me download all my old things. It might be a glitch on my end, but I don’t want so,some else going through that annoyance.

Jean March 22, 2016 at 1:13 PM

Wow, this list! Trying to refrain (but did 1-click She Dims the Stars). And next week’s releases are totally out of control!

I’m still reading Kept (60%) and absolutely LOVE it!!!!

Amy March 22, 2016 at 1:21 PM

Maryse, Ela just freaked out up there over a part in Collared…I’d say it’s promising!! :D

Collared, Kept, An Unforgivable Love Story, Life in Reverse, She Dims the Stars, Where Lightning Strikes (I LOVE that author), Eversea series, Why Now (love triangle…YES!!!)…my head feels like it’s spinning! I want to lock myself away for the next week and just GORGE on those books. Not to mention a few I picked up on sale which sound pretty perfect as well…Pictures of You by Caroline Leavitt and the Woman Before Me by Ruth Dugdall (not sure if they’re still on sale :? ).

Oh! And check out this one, Through Her Eyes by Ava Harrison (.99!!)…holy vague blurb…MINE!!!

Ela March 22, 2016 at 1:23 PM

I am really liking Collared but now I’m sad and hopeful and just gahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!

She Dims the Stars YOU SAY??? Maybe that’s next but I wanted to go back to Mercy Thompson! And Kele Moon’s book???

Ela March 22, 2016 at 1:28 PM

Wow Amy! Total overload right there chica!

Amy March 22, 2016 at 1:31 PM

Yep, Collared it is. You made my choice for me, Ela. ;)

Hey, do y’all want me to list the handful of the books on sale that come to me by email every day? Like, The Woman Before Me was either .99 or 1.99 when I clicked it the other day, but now it’s back up to 9.99 (I just checked :( ).

Michelle was doing something similar for a while but now she is so busy with, ya know, saving animals’ lives and all (go Michelle!). I just didn’t want to seem like I’m stepping on her toes or anything…

Ela March 22, 2016 at 1:58 PM

That one sounds good Amy… I personally would like a sales list if it’s ok with everyone????

Tessa March 22, 2016 at 2:06 PM

Of course I’d love one. Didn’t like NOLA, Amy?

StaceyU March 22, 2016 at 2:08 PM

Maryse…….Logan Kade is supposed to be out March 28th as well!!!!!!! wooohooo ****happy dance**** lol

Shirley March 22, 2016 at 2:26 PM

Hey ladies, check out the blurb for Desperately Seeking Epic by BN Toler. New release today. Sounds so good but may be a tearjerker! Gosh so many of these new releases are sounding so good!!

Beverly A. March 22, 2016 at 2:26 PM

Finished Ginger’s Heart by Katy Regnery earlier. Gah! I LOVED it. It pulled me right out of my book slump. I also came across The One by Danielle Allen, where the H gets suckered into being a contestant on a reality dating show. It sounded different, and since I was missing The Bachelor on T.V. this week decided to give it a go. Half way in and so far loving it!

Jean March 22, 2016 at 2:34 PM

I love lists like that Amy! I get my daily emails too, but HATE when I miss a sale and the price goes back up! So, you could be my backup! Lol! I’m sure Michelle would not be offended!

Oh, and I am completely overwhelmed with all the new releases and book recs……I’m dying……need more time……

Grey, I think she’s holding off on it until this weekend so it’s closer to the release of it. ‘Cause, ya know, angry mob and all. :P

bev March 22, 2016 at 3:03 PM

Maryse we should throw the tbr out the window and read Sweethearts by Sara Zarr. I’m fixated on wanting to read it for some reason.

Ela March 22, 2016 at 3:06 PM

Man oh man! I’d love to be able to shove my hand inside Maryse’s Kindle and “borrow” that ARC *shrugs* WHAT? I lurve that author!

Yep! Angry Mob *grins*

Amy March 22, 2016 at 3:08 PM

BEV!!!!!!!!!!

*sits on hands to keep from hugging Bev*

Jean March 22, 2016 at 3:09 PM

Thanks Amy! And why am I not surprised you clicked on Broken Dolls! You’ll have to be the guinea pig for that one! Sounds crazy!

Bev!!! Where’ve you been girl? You can be guinea pig for Sweethearts…..lol!

Now, now girls…..leave Maryse alone……

Rebecca March 22, 2016 at 3:17 PM

If you go to “Manage Your Content and Devices”- you can sort by Kindle Unlimited- OR- if you go to Kindle Unlimited on the amazon website it will show you which ones you have borrowed! And, I completely cannot decide what to start next. I am in book overload ;-)

Ela March 22, 2016 at 3:22 PM

NOT TOUCHING BROKEN DOLLS WITH A TEN FOOT POLE!

HI BEV *waves*

Now, why should we leave Maryse alone? *tilts head and ponders* Nah I don’t think so…She’s so much fun!

Jean March 22, 2016 at 3:26 PM

Lol Ela! Ok, I guess we can virtually bully her!

By the way, I’m willing to guinea pig read Beyond the Cage up there. An MMA fighter who appears to need saving…..sounds perfect for me….I’m on it (soon)!

Maryse March 22, 2016 at 3:39 PM

Hey!!!

I have CUTE baby dolls that are CUTE!!!!!!!

Jean March 22, 2016 at 3:41 PM

Omg Maryse, something about your comment just made me laugh so hard!

Maryse March 22, 2016 at 3:41 PM

YES

I am holding off, for you guys!!! ;) Once i read it, and then maybe in a day or two from my review it will be out. OR THE day… and then I won’t feel so bad. Right? RIGHT??!!! :P

Maryse March 22, 2016 at 3:41 PM

LOL Jean!!!!!!!!!

Jean March 22, 2016 at 3:41 PM

You are too good to us!

Maryse March 22, 2016 at 3:42 PM

Oh boy bev… now i”m looking’ it up….

and also the “desperately seeking epic” one…

This list is gonna have some major add-ons it seems.

Jean March 22, 2016 at 3:43 PM

I am soooo intrigued by Desperately Seeking Epic!!

Maryse March 22, 2016 at 3:45 PM

And now… having backtracked on the slew of comments I missed while I was reading “dim the stars” I see my dolls comment had nothing to do with anything at all.

LOL!!!!!

Yes. Stop picking on my awesome ARC. I am saving it, as badly as I don’t want to, ’cause I totally wanna read it BAD. The most, even.

Now. I am looking up broken dolls (and my dolls have obviously nothing to do with that – *whoops* my bad!)

And… I had something funny to say, but I can’t remember. :P ;)

Maryse March 22, 2016 at 3:46 PM

Jean YES I totally downloaded the MMA sample… a bad-ass gentle giant that won’t speak? MINE!

Ela March 22, 2016 at 3:47 PM

So technically I’m guinea pigging Collared?! At 48% and I really DON’T know how this can go HEA good FOR MY LIKING!

Fabi March 22, 2016 at 3:47 PM

LOL Maryse, you have me chuckling out loud in my office, trying to hide my mouth under my hand. Too funny.

Ela March 22, 2016 at 3:49 PM

Maryse I’m slightly disturbed by your doll comment and I soooooooooo hope you mean cute baby doll dresses or tops because for some reason I picture you walking around with a bunch of headless dolls *shudders*

Maryse March 22, 2016 at 3:50 PM

hahahahah!!! You guys are making me laugh too!!!! :D

Amy March 22, 2016 at 3:50 PM

I think Desperately Seeking Epic is going to beat the he!! out of our hearts…MINE!!!!

Aw come on guys, Broken Dolls looks CRAZY in a good way!

Pssst, Jean! Did ya know Maryse has over one hundred Cabbage Patch Kids? *nods head* Yep, she ‘fessed up to it. So if we ever form an angry mob out of book envy then we have to at least spare the dolls. :P

Maryse March 22, 2016 at 3:52 PM

Ela… the worst kind, in some peoples opinion. The dreaded (yet cutest in the whole world EVER!!!) Cabbage Patch Doll. ;) And yes, I have too many to admit to (in the hundreds).

Oops. I just admitted it, did’t I? :|

Amy March 22, 2016 at 3:56 PM

OMG ELA!!! BAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!

*catches breath*

*reads Fabi’s comment about trying to hide her chuckling in the office*

*snorrrrrrrt* LOL!!! It’s like trying not to laugh in church or during a ceremony of ANY kind.

I had been giggling with my friend not long ago during a graduation ceremony, and I completely lost it when a kid named Braxton Hicks was called up. That was seriously his name. LOL, WHY?!?

Jean March 22, 2016 at 3:57 PM

Haha, I have hundreds of dolls too (still in their boxes including a couple cabbage patch dolls) so I support you Maryse, but maybe that’s why Broken Dolls freaks me (and you) out a little!

Amy March 22, 2016 at 3:58 PM

Freaks out Tigs from SOA as well. ;)

Jean March 22, 2016 at 3:58 PM

Braxton Hicks?!?! Holy crap! That’s hysterical!

Fabi March 22, 2016 at 4:01 PM

Oh my god, someone did NOT name their kid Braxton Hicks. Evil~!

Maryse March 22, 2016 at 4:03 PM

Bev is back!!!!!! (yes… I just clued in). YAY US!!!! :D

Ela March 22, 2016 at 4:07 PM

OMG THAT IS NOT A NICE NAME TO GIVE YOUR CHILD UNLESS WELL I DON’T KNOW, YOU DON’T LIKE YOUR KID AND YOURSELF???

CABBAGE PATCH KIDS?????????? SERIOUSLY?????? *SHUDDERS* WHY CAN’T YOU JUST COLLECT PRECIOUS MOMENTS LIKE US NORMAL FOLKS???

Amy March 22, 2016 at 4:10 PM

I’m serious, that poor child’s name was Braxton Hicks…I thought it was a joke until he actually went up on stage. I couldn’t help it and busted out laughing, then it was contagious and my friend couldn’t stop laughing. Talk about getting stinkeye. :P

Maryse March 22, 2016 at 4:11 PM

Maybe that IS Braxton Hicks… the inventor of the fake-birth cramps??!! Maybe he’s Braxton Hicks JUNIOR!!!!! OMG famous!

Amy March 22, 2016 at 4:11 PM

Okay, Precious Moments dolls creep ME out.

Just sayin’.

Ela March 22, 2016 at 4:12 PM
Ela March 22, 2016 at 4:14 PM

AMY ROTFLMAO PRECIOUS MOMENTS are so well precious

Amy March 22, 2016 at 4:14 PM

LOL!!! It *would* be pretty neat, except it was two different docs who named that.

How do I know? I HAVE to know so that I can catch the error if it’s made in a report (Braxton-Hicks versus Braxton Hicks). And there, my ladies, is your medical terminology lesson for the day. :P

Amy March 22, 2016 at 4:17 PM

OMG ELA!!!!

*laughs hysterically and wheezes*

You are killin’ me today!! Those names in that list…SO FREAKING WRONG, LOL!!!!

Maryse March 22, 2016 at 4:19 PM

Oooooooooooh I love learning! :D

Amy March 22, 2016 at 4:24 PM

I can just picture you sitting in on one of Fabi’s classes and making her bust up laughing when she’s supposed to be teaching. *snicker*

Fabi March 22, 2016 at 4:53 PM

What? You all “already” do that.

Lauren March 22, 2016 at 4:55 PM

Lisa Kay, Amazon has a list of your KU books. Click on KU, then click on “my KU books”, then scroll thru options & click on “returned”….all your books will be listed & you can choose HOW you want them listed, by date, by author, or by title.

DG March 22, 2016 at 5:19 PM

Whew! A big ole thanks to Fabi and Tessa! Ladies ya’ll are the BEST! There is no way I could have moved over all those from my kindle app. Manually. Amazing to now know how many books I have on there give or take.

And Maryse….when I think of dolls….I think of Chuckie……I’ll stick to blankie thank you very much!

DG March 22, 2016 at 5:29 PM

Oh, I just remembered one of the most unusual names I’ve ever heard….football player by name of Ha Ha Clinton-Dix. I had to ask hubs if that was his real name….

Shirley March 22, 2016 at 6:04 PM

Speaking of names, I have one for you all (Amy, you will love this)…….My Mother went to school with 2 boys and a girl whose last name is Dick. The 2 boys name were Harry and Curly and the sisters name was Mary Etta. I didn’t believe my Mom and she had to pull her yearbook out and show me. Sure enough, there they were!! I swear on my precious Mothers grave Im telling you the truth!! What in the world were the parents thinking when they named those kids??

bev March 22, 2016 at 6:09 PM

You all are funny. One of my yearly bookish resolutions was to read more Internet less. Yes it’s March but resolutions can be started whenever.
This is what made me want to read Sweethearts.
http://foreveryoungadult.com/2010/10/12/be-mine-or-i-love-you-cameron-quick/
You know who they also love? Jonah from Jellicoe Road.

Kim Box Person March 22, 2016 at 6:33 PM

Just finished Collared!!! O.M.G. I freaking LOVED it! I ran the gamut of emotions…. I was giddy, oh the angst! I cried, I smiled, I sighed and I want MORE MORE AND MORE!!!! GAHHHHHHHHH perfect read after Thousand Boy

Rose March 22, 2016 at 6:42 PM

Maryse- Did you see that Kresley Cole’s first 2 books in her contemporary/ mafia type series are only $1.99/each and the next one is due out next month? I downloaded these and holy hotness! I know you liked her IAD series and I zipped through “The Master” in almost one day-it’s actually book 2 but they don’t have to be read in order. I’m starting the first one tonight-can’t wait! Here are the 2 books: The Professional (The Game Maker Series Book 1) and The Master (The Game Maker Series Book 2).

Michelle March 22, 2016 at 6:43 PM

*blubbering happy tears* oh that part in Ugly Love with the format change just made me start up again…sometimes I want to kick myself with how long it takes me to read books everyone loves!

Fabi March 22, 2016 at 6:46 PM

awww Michelle *hugs* are you finished with it?

I’m reading one I wish I had a BR with too. I have a big ol’ lump in my throat and I keep having to break from it.

bev March 22, 2016 at 6:50 PM

See t was one when I was odd man out. Ithe was a DNF for me.

Michelle March 22, 2016 at 6:50 PM

Oh and Amy, really stepping on my toes, pshhah…please post! I feel bad my schedule has gotten so hectic I can’t. I still try to post a few freebies here and there that were higher on my wishlist but yeah I’m too busy right now :( Good news that you can all be jealous about ;) is that my new schedule, starting next month once another vet is back full time, has me off on Tuesdays YESSSSSS!

Michelle March 22, 2016 at 6:52 PM

Fabi, no I took a mini break. Sometimes I do that right at the end when I want to savor the feels. What are you reading right now?

Grey March 22, 2016 at 6:54 PM

You all remember I worked Labor and Delivery for 13 years right… we don’t even want to go into f***ed up baby names. *SMH* just no.

I finished my writing for the day. I’m still pouting that Maryse has a Pepper Winters ARC that she isn’t reading or sharing. Gah, GREEN with envy over here…

Going to actually read the post now… maybe it’s finished LOL. (I got 3rd place in the Biggest Loser competition at work… and won a little bit of cash… I bought myself Amazon gift cards. I have no shame at least it wasn’t ice cream haha!)

Tessa March 22, 2016 at 7:04 PM

Lauren! That information is beyond priceless. Thank you. Almost two years subscribed and I’ve never known. :)

Broken Dolls looks interesting. I want to read it. My sister in law used to make up stories for her character where she would do that to her enemies. I sent her the link right away. I HAVE to read it!

bev March 22, 2016 at 7:24 PM

Congratulations Grey.

I just had 13 books download. 13 . WTH. I have to stop buying on my phone.

Denise March 22, 2016 at 7:25 PM

I totally went to school with….. Wait for it..
Renalds Wrap…… And and his sister….
Sara Ann Wrap.. Yep. Not lying.
And when I worked at a health clinic, this lady named her boys
Orangejello and Lemonjello because she craved orange jello and lemon jello…..Whaaaaattttt???

Tessa March 22, 2016 at 7:29 PM

ROFL So three of us, my sister in law, my niece and I all played a HUGE part in the doll stories my sis in law made up. My niece is going NUTS trying to figure it out.

Fabi March 22, 2016 at 7:31 PM

I can’t believe the names I’m hearing. And here I’ve been mad at my parents for mine all this time. Shesh, if were those kids I’d take off running to get my name changed the same day I turned 18.

Michelle, I’m reading Finding North by Carmen Jenner. I bought it when Maryse posted it a few weeks ago and am just now getting to it. It started out all hot and funny and hot hot hot, and then turned into a heartbreaker. Sneaky, sneaky book.

OMG I do that too near the end of books I’m loving. I step away near the end and come back to finish it. Soaking up the feels. :-)

bev March 22, 2016 at 7:37 PM

Not necessarily at the end of books, but do walk away at moments that I think will be good. Maybe a declaration, a confrontation, secret reveal or just a sweet moment. I don’t always realize I’ve done it until I’m somewhere else in the house, lol. Do not usually stay away long may be a drink or something.
Also, some songs I can’t sit still during. I don’t mean I have to dance but I have to walk around or something if in the house. *shrug*

bev March 22, 2016 at 7:43 PM

Fabi is your name short for Fabiola?

Amy March 22, 2016 at 7:49 PM

Shirley…are you SERIOUS?!?!? Bahahahahaha!!!!!! That shouldn’t be funny but it SO IS!! Why? WHY do parents do that?? *snorrrrrt* And Denise too with those names, LOL!!!!

Did y’all see that…Kim BP freaked out over Collared! I’m definitely reading that one next. :D

Oh Michelle…need a snuggle? *wraps Michelle in a hug* But how wonderful was it? ;)

Amy March 22, 2016 at 7:55 PM

Fabi!! Your name is so pretty and unique…Fabiana? Lovely!!

Um, Bev? You know that many books is the norm around here, right? :P

YES Tessa!! *fistbumps Tessa* Someone else is intrigued by Broken Dolls. Something about that one sounds so creepy and fun. Oh, and I haven’t started NOLA yet. *cringes away* I PROMISE I will tell you when I do. I would have started it already but…too many new shinies around here.

Fabi March 22, 2016 at 7:56 PM

Bev, mine’s Fabiana

Amy March 22, 2016 at 7:56 PM

And congrats Grey!!!! That is an awesome accomplishment. :D

bev March 22, 2016 at 8:06 PM

Fabi you have the best nickname and a lovely first name.

Amy, that should not be the norm, lol. Maybe I wouldn’t find it shocking if i was downloading them as I bought them instead of all at once.

Tessa March 22, 2016 at 8:08 PM

No, I want to read it because 10 Years ago, I played a game. In the game, my sister in law bought a doll looking statue, and left it on my in game house porch with a note. It said her character killed a woman and trapped her soul in the doll and to enjoy. We spent years with doll stories after that. Hopefully, this book will give her a push to write those stories. :-)

Amy March 22, 2016 at 8:31 PM

It was Annabelle!!!

*shudder* That movie was creeeeeeepy.

Michelle March 22, 2016 at 9:00 PM

That’s funny that a couple of us walk away during the more intense moments in a book to soak it in. Well I finished Ugly Love and seriously when is that movie out because I NEED to see it!

Think I will start a few chapters in Blue Lily, Lily Blue. I need to find a new audio book for my drive tomorrow too.

Lisa Kay March 22, 2016 at 9:22 PM

Thanks Lauren, that helped so much.

bev March 22, 2016 at 9:36 PM

Michelle one I think, only from the sample, would maybe make a good audio is Simon vs the HomoSapiens Agenda. But just saw the price has gone way up since I read it.

Michelle March 22, 2016 at 10:05 PM

Aww thanks Bev but that’s too expensive for me…trying to find cheaper audiobooks since I go through about 2/week. I’ve been getting a lot from the library but running out of interesting titles. Just signed up for the audible daily deals so hoping to stock up.

Fabi March 22, 2016 at 10:37 PM

Michelle the least expensive Audibles I find are the ones that have whispersync for the books I already have on my Kindle library. Since the tbr is so big, there’s always something there I haven’t gotten to read yet. Sometimes I picked up a free Kindle book and can add Audible to it for $1.99. I use that tool that Maryse posts above to help me find Audible versions of books I already own with. You just have to sample the narrator first to make sure it’s a good one.

Fabi March 22, 2016 at 10:39 PM

I also subscribe to Audible but I save those credits for expensive books. Like MiF which I’m listening to now. :-)

Fabi March 22, 2016 at 10:43 PM

I am starting Finley now. It’s late but I can’t resist at least starting it. :-)

Theresa March 22, 2016 at 10:51 PM

Ela, Mercy Thompson, Patricia Briggs was “preachy” it really dragged tor me. So many of my paranormals are just falling off in interest or like Laurel Hamilton just went off the deep end. Put allot of time in these series and money because I have them in hardcover. might want to get sample or library on that one

Theresa March 22, 2016 at 10:53 PM

The Samatha Towle books are great. Good price well worth the money, wish it would continue

Theresa March 22, 2016 at 11:02 PM

Maryse Andrea Smith just released My Men- she wrote G Men nit sure if you call this next in series or spin off. It’s one if the Gmen’s sister and her two guys yes two guys.

Theresa March 22, 2016 at 11:05 PM

I have a list on Amazon that you all recommend that sounds good but don’t buy asap. Then everyday I run the filter on the list that alerts price drops. Then if I still want to read I buy at the reduced price so that is how I keep track of sale books. But it’s recommended ones.

DG March 22, 2016 at 11:17 PM

Fabi, I was wondering the same thing earlier when I was on a work call with a Fabiano. Maybe you have some Italian in your family?
My name has been mispronounced my entire life. And it is not that different! Geez! Heck, my sons baseball coach called me by the ‘wrong’ name earlier today!

Fabi March 22, 2016 at 11:48 PM

You’re right DG, my family’s Italian. Did you correct coach? lol That’s always so awkward.

Celeste March 23, 2016 at 4:57 AM

I’ve one-clicked like a fiend today, but work the next seven days. This is such sweet torture.

DG March 23, 2016 at 5:00 AM

Sad to say but no, I didn’t correct him. If it was the first time, I would have but after a while there is no point. Plus when you pay with a check which has it written out clear as day…..What’s one letter in the scheme of things? The same thing occurs with a school teacher I know also and I have texted her in the past with my name on it….so whatever.
The people that count either call me by my name or a nickname so….

Cait March 23, 2016 at 5:05 AM

Holy shitttttt the list is fab! #fabia
Ela is killing me with collared so that’s my read tonight! Might even open a we bottle of wine I have a feeling I will be needing it!
Thanks for the specials/freebies Amy once again not enough hours in the day!
Maryse your girls are on fire tonight I can’t keep up with these comments!!!

Lisa March 23, 2016 at 5:24 AM

Haven’t checked in for a few days….how is everyone??
Ahhhmaaazing list Maryse.
I’ve decided to toughen up and tackle Desperately Seeking Epic.
After Ive finished lovin’ the Crows, Ponies and their Wolfy friends in the Courtyard.
(Ive just had five days of fishing, swimming, drinking wine and eating fresh seafood. But not much reading.)

Grey March 23, 2016 at 5:53 AM

Collared…. oh my… Ela…you naughty little thing you what have you done to us! Loving it!

Fabi March 23, 2016 at 8:24 AM

I’m only on Chapter 4 of Finley, but damn, Ella Frank can write. I am already 100% invested in these characters. *shiver*

Ela March 23, 2016 at 8:47 AM

*takes a bow* as long as everyone is loving it then yes I TAKE ALL THE CREDIT FOR THE RAUCOUS I MAY HAVE CAUSE BUT IF NOT I WAS NOT HERE!

I’m at 61% and just can’t see how this can end well and it’s making me really sad!

I love Ella Frank but for some reason I can’t get into the MM genre *shrugs* and believe I tried really hard, pun intended.

SMH at all those names…if I had one of those f****ed up names, I’d be changing that sh*t!

Side eyes Maryse with Grey staring at that ARC!

Theresa! That is such a disappointment about Mercy! I was sure this series WOULD NEVER TURN INTO A SOOKIE SERIES meaning after a number of books it should just STOP!

bev March 23, 2016 at 8:48 AM

I ordered some samples a couple weeks ago by a skincare company. I have bad skin, lol. Just sensitive, acne, oily now aging and likes to burn. Sigh.
Anyway usually products like these would seem to heavy but I’m really liking them. The samples are small but are going to last awhile. A bit goes along way. But now have to decide if want to invest when done cause very $$$$$.

Shirley March 23, 2016 at 8:57 AM

I am LOVING An Unforgivable Love Story!! Due to a busy day yesterday, I picked it back up late last night and now I can’t put this book down. I have never read a book like this before. I can’t say much more due to spoilers but this book has blindsided me!! I can’t even imagine how this will end!!

Ela March 23, 2016 at 9:02 AM

Bev, what’s the skincare? Now I’m curious???? Does it diminish wrinkles???? Give you an instant brow and eye lift?

Fabi March 23, 2016 at 9:08 AM

Finley – I’m already crying, and so late to work.

Fabi March 23, 2016 at 9:18 AM

I hate Brantley right now.

I’m soooory, I know you guys aren’t reading this one. I don’t mean to be a pest. I’m just tied up in knots and the book just started. Ok, I’m going to go to work and take a break from it.

Cait March 23, 2016 at 9:33 AM

Ela I think the name of the skincare cream you are looking for is call “a miracle”!! Lol

Ela March 23, 2016 at 9:50 AM

Well Cait YOU must be right or I could hit up the plastic surgeon??? That is probably the only solution?!

Tessa March 23, 2016 at 10:03 AM

Ela, I liked the Mercy book. My biggest issue is it was too short. It might have been due to reading MiF first, but I think even MichelleS said it felt too short too. I didn’t get preachy but instead more of a bated breath as the “game” changes. Both the Mercy book and Omega books have been leading somewhere, and this was the trigger to start stuff up, if that makes sense?

Amy March 23, 2016 at 10:09 AM

I finally finished Cruel and Beautiful last night, and today I’m just…sad. Actually, melancholy would be a better word. Even shopping online for scrubs made me tear up. *sniffle* I’m so glad y’all get it here. ;)

Fabi! Why are you sorry??? Vent away, rant away, swoon away, cry away…we’re here for you regardless of if we are reading the same book or not. *wraps Fabi in a hug* Luffs ya.

Theresa March 23, 2016 at 10:11 AM

Tessa, trigger to what. I had to give up on series but I need light. It did appear that Mer y was making pack devisions and that they ate cut loose from Bran. What are you thinking?

Amy March 23, 2016 at 10:20 AM

Bev…if you like the product then it is worth the investment. I really wish I had started taking better care of my skin earlier, but I was so naive in thinking that because my skin looked great I didn’t need to moisturize or use night creams or exfoliate. Now I’m paying the price for it. :?

Pamper yourself, lady!

Ela March 23, 2016 at 10:23 AM

Ah Geeezzzzzzzzzzz! I’m not ready for that from Mercy and cut loose from Bran???? WTF

Tessa March 23, 2016 at 10:49 AM

The stories have been hinting at the issues of the fey coming to a head for quite a while. Not saying what happened, but it has been building for a long time. The pack has been growing and honestly, stuff that needed to happen finally did in this one. Also, everything that happened happened for a reason. Have you read the Alpha and Omega series?

Ela, I’m not saying anything. The book explains it all. :P

Ela March 23, 2016 at 10:56 AM

I’m behind on both series. It looks like I have 2 books to read in both series to be current.

Amy March 23, 2016 at 12:19 PM

Maryse…I just noticed up there that you clicked Broken Dolls, too. YAY!!!!! How freaky fun does it sound?? *happy dance*

Ela March 23, 2016 at 12:30 PM

You and your dolls *shivers*!

So I finished Collared and created a spoiler thread for it. I feel VERY conflicted with that ending and I mean VERY! I think I need to reread it at least several times to get it.

Cristina March 23, 2016 at 12:36 PM

I’m 24% into Collared and SOOOOOOO did not see this twist coming!! I mean, I thought I had an idea, but then the author just TOTALLY knocked me backwards!!! Holy hell! Pun intended… Lol This book is going to gut me! Thanks for the spoiler thread Ela! I think I’m going to need it!

On another note, I read Music Notes and it was a very fun, light-hearted read. It didn’t have the angst I always love, but it was a beautifully written love story. Definitely a good read after a dark book. One thing I loved was that the author created two different endings. You hit a fork in the road during the story, where it can go one of two ways. The author lets you choose one of two paths. I would have LOVED this for Ground Rules Undone! Very creative and fun!

Ela March 23, 2016 at 12:47 PM

AND THAT TWIST IS GONNA GUT YOU AND HIT YOU UPSIDE THE HEAD AND PISS YOU OFF….JUST SAYIN’

Cristina March 23, 2016 at 12:49 PM

Dear Lord.. where’s Manny at these days? Lol

Amy March 23, 2016 at 12:57 PM

*wipes off Manny and hands him to Cristina*

Here ya go.

*sniffle*

Sorry, I didn’t have time to wash all my snuffle off. :?

DG March 23, 2016 at 1:03 PM

Finished The Wrath & the Dawn – really liked it. Strong h, troubled H but still alpha all the way….ready for the next one!

Sooo, I jumped on the roller coaster named ‘Collared’. Not sure if it is a good thing or not when a book makes me nervous to start it. *grabs blankie, bottle of wine, and pillow while looking around to see who has Manny*

DG March 23, 2016 at 1:06 PM

Ela you have my mind jumping to a million and one conclusions about the twist! Not sure if I can handle this…..

Ela March 23, 2016 at 1:07 PM

Well at this point I just need the vodka BECAUSE I’M KINDA REALLY PISSED OFF AND POOR MANNY MIGHT GET IN THE WAY…

Ela March 23, 2016 at 1:09 PM

OF COURSE YOU CAN HANDLE IT DG BUT THAT ENDING MAY PISS YOU OFF OR NOT…MOST REVIEWS I SAW LOVED THE BOOK THROUGH AND THROUGH WHERE AS ME…HMMMMMM, NOT GONNA GO THERE AS SPOIL ANYTHING

Fabi March 23, 2016 at 1:13 PM

Everyone hide! Ela is on the rampage.

Oh God, I am so happy you guys always let me know when I won’t be able to handle a book BEFORE I read it.

Fabi March 23, 2016 at 1:14 PM

Cristina, I added Music Notes to my tbr.

*grins hugely at everyone reading Collared*

Ela March 23, 2016 at 1:19 PM

You are a spoil sport Fabi *sticks out tongue* I should’ve kept my caps to myself, huh??? Don’t bother hiding folks, my loud caps will reach ya!

Any ways! I going for some dark with Lost by Ker Dukey, I think??? I may squirrel a few times yet!

Renee March 23, 2016 at 1:19 PM

I read a review of Collared first thing this morning and decided I wasn’t strong enough. I’m very aware of my own weakness! Godspeed to the rest of you :)

And I tried to figure it out on my own, but what’s a *manny* and where can I get one lol? If it’s a vodka infused salon visit, count me in.

Fabi March 23, 2016 at 1:25 PM

haaaa Renee you’re hilarious.

and an optimist: “a vodka infused salon visit, count me in”

lol, I’ll let Amy tell you about Manny.

Renee March 23, 2016 at 1:33 PM

Uh oh…that sounds serious. *holds breath*

Tessa March 23, 2016 at 1:39 PM

Ahhh. I missed it. *huggle pounces Amy* That mean book made you cry in the bestest of ways?

Jean March 23, 2016 at 1:40 PM

I love when Ela starts yelling! And now, I’m scared of Collared. Think I’m going to start Beyond the Cage because he needs me….lol!

Fabi March 23, 2016 at 1:44 PM

hahaha Jean. He SO needs you.

Ela March 23, 2016 at 1:46 PM

I didn’t mean to scream and scare everyone away! Honestly it’s not bad I just don’t get it I JUST DON’T GET IT, MAKE ME UNDERSTAND

DG March 23, 2016 at 1:52 PM

I’m a wimp……I just can’t do it. *looking at floor and shaking head* I’m only 23% in and I have feel like I have a weight sitting on my chest! Gah! It’s the lost time thing I mentioned previously…it TEARS me to pieces. Maybe after my BP goes down, and I can breathe easy again…I might be able to attempt to progress a little more….but I just don’t know.

DG March 23, 2016 at 1:55 PM

and a lot more to drink…..

Amy March 23, 2016 at 1:56 PM

I’m getting huggle pounces!!!! *squeezes Tessa* Thank you lady! I soooo needed it. ;)

I’m with Jean…I like it when Ela starts yelling ’cause it means it’s a freakout. And freakouts are so much more fun when someone else is having them. *snort*

Renee, Manny is our sweet little resident stuffed manatee that we snuggle and snuffle on when a book kicks our hearts’ a$$es. He lives with me, but he loves being shared with everyone. ;) It all started with Night Owl and Matt’s stuffed manatee in that book…and oh lord, that part was so sadly touching in that book.

Ela March 23, 2016 at 1:57 PM

NO DON’T GIVE UP ON ME NOW! I NEED TO PONDER THAT ENDING WITH SOMEONE DAMMIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Amy March 23, 2016 at 1:59 PM

Holy moly, a vodka-infused salon visit?!? *whoops loudly* I’m SO in!!! :D

I can’t pick up Collared until this evening and I. Can’t. Wait.

*throws Manny at Fabi’s grinning face* :P

Amy March 23, 2016 at 2:01 PM

I’ll be there soon enough Ela. Deeeeep breaths.

*puts hand on Ela’s back and deep breathes with her*

There ya go lovie. You’ll be okay. ;)

bev March 23, 2016 at 2:01 PM

I really enjoyed Fire Touched. I like what happened between Mercy & the pack. Long time coming Adam. I wish we would of seen Bran, but hopefully next book. I need to catch up on the Alpha & Omega books since the seem to be more connected now.

DG March 23, 2016 at 2:05 PM

OK, OK…I have a plan. Maybe if I take mini breaks, walk around, let my BP drop back to normal, stop at package store and grab more drinks (not sure I have ENOUGH on hand to last through this book), and maybe then I can finish it. Maybe. I will try.

Ela March 23, 2016 at 2:07 PM

Oh AMY!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now you got me missing the pet bunny rabbit, who’s name I forgot!

Renee March 23, 2016 at 2:08 PM

Of course, I look up Night Owl and get this… http://www.amazon.com/Night-Owl-Toni-Yuly-ebook/dp/B00SF6E304/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1458759940&sr=1-1&keywords=night+owl

Seriously hoping that’s not the book you need Manny for, because if it is you should really reconsider the vodka!

I found it, must add to never growing list!!

Ela March 23, 2016 at 2:10 PM

Well well well my dear friend bev! I may have to venture into the PNR land??? Maybe ditch Lost for Alpha and Omega book 3???? I hate squirreling without a definite book to choose!

Thank goodness for Amy not quitting!

Yes, DG deep breaths and maybe hit something you won’t miss and carry on?

Ela March 23, 2016 at 2:13 PM

OMG Renee LMAO…um that looks like a cartoon children’s book??? And it’s 9.99…price overload for a children’s book!

This is OUR Night Owl that totally rocks…not sure how we all felt about book 3 though????

http://www.amazon.com/Night-Owl-The-Trilogy-Book-ebook/dp/B00HY070CU

Amy March 23, 2016 at 2:14 PM

LOL Renee!!!!!! OMG, I’m cracking up right now. :P

And yes Ela, that pet bunny was so CUTE.

You can do this, DG. And just think, read enough books which do that to you and pretty soon you’ll build up a nice little tolerance!

Ela March 23, 2016 at 2:16 PM

Yes! What Amy said! Especially if you read enough books like Arsen or A True Love Story…your vodka/alcohol stash will need a daily/hourly replenish?

Ela March 23, 2016 at 2:18 PM

Oh I just thought of a LIST for Maryse!!!!!!!!!!!!! *jumping up and down* I love this idea!!!!!!!!!! Of course if it’s not already listed *tee hee hee*….

A list of books that made you angry or That Pi$$ed you off the MOST!

Renee March 23, 2016 at 2:19 PM

I mentioned it yesterday Ela, but I nominate Carnage! *ducks for cover*

Amy March 23, 2016 at 2:21 PM

Oh yeah, something I wanted to mention about Cruel and Beautiful…it’s a past-present story, but one that works (for me, at least), and in the past the H is “perfect” and amazingly patient and sweet to the point of making your teeth hurt. BUT, because of the drama and light to medium angst of the present story, the sweetness of the past actually worked. Again, for me at least.

Ugh, there are some other things I want to say but don’t want to mess it up for anyone. But I will say that even though I was frustrated with my overactive brain initially (try the first chapter *snort*) it ended up working for the best for me. So if your brain does the same hing, know it won’t ruin the story. ;) Gah, I hope that’s cryptic, not spoilerish. If it is, Maryse, feel free to edit all of that out please!!

Amy March 23, 2016 at 2:24 PM

Ela, she has one post titled the “I’ll-never-forgive-you” list or something like that.

And if there’s not a list like the one you mentioned, then I second that list!!!

Tessa March 23, 2016 at 2:24 PM

Or look at the bad side. Read enough of them and build such a tolerance that nothing really makes you feel angsty anymore.

Ela… uh… Oh boy. I actually don’t know if I like that or that would be a list of books to avoid. I still won’t read Ground Rules after how you all reacted to book three.

Renee March 23, 2016 at 2:25 PM

Ground Rules book 3. No comment.

Tessa March 23, 2016 at 2:26 PM

Am I the only one who read and didn’t like Carnage? Not, HATE YOU BOOK type, just, ugh, why couldn’t the heroine have died because I hate her kind of didn’t like.

Fabi March 23, 2016 at 2:27 PM

I nominate Rainfall. But, of course, you all knew that. Although, at this rate, I may have to nominate Finley too. I am a mess reading this! I’m so pissed on Finn’s behalf.

Ela March 23, 2016 at 2:28 PM

CARNAGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!???????????????????????? THAT BOOK TICKED ME OFF SO BAD I COULDN’T RATE IT TO HIGH AND I REFUSE TO READ THE SEQUEL!

GROUND RULES SHOULD BE THE SERIES THAT SHALL NOT BE NAMED???

Ela March 23, 2016 at 2:31 PM

But see Arsen and True Love Story really made me mad but I loved the stories/books!

Where as Carnage – all characters should’ve died. Ground Rules should have become an orgy on Broadway The END.

bev March 23, 2016 at 2:32 PM

Amy, the skincare line is Mahalo. I’m using the Petal mask as a cleanser. Then the indigo face balm then the vitality elixir. Im toning with cvskinlabs relief spray. But not sure how my sunscreen will layer. Probably be too much for day.

MichelleS March 23, 2016 at 2:34 PM

Haven’t been around for a few days. Trying to catch up. Braxton Hicks? That’s crazy. WHY? I went to a graduation a couple of years ago for high school, and the kid named Jose Cuervo got the biggest applause. LOL.

Still reading and finishing up Feverborn today. Been so super busy with guests, etc. It’s so confusing at this point. I hadn’t realized how much had happened and all the story-lines. About a fifth of the book has all the characters and places and important details to help you get caught up. If you need a giant glossary, it may be time to end the series. Every chapter is from someone else’s POV. I have to concentrate to read this! UGH. What happened? I used to be able to fly through a KMM book. I think she’s trying too hard.

Tessa March 23, 2016 at 2:42 PM

The POV thing is my biggest ugh, honestly. I just want one POV, not twenty. I’m not really a fan of dual POV, though I’ll read them, but yeah. Too many POVs. That said, I still liked it a lot. I love seeing where everything is headed.

Is it bad that I still love the evil prince of the series? *sighs* I know. I need help.

Jean March 23, 2016 at 2:46 PM

I think I am the only one who was ok with the ending to Ground Rules……..

Renee March 23, 2016 at 3:00 PM

I didn’t so much mind the ending of Ground Rules, the whole thing just felt rushed to me, and some of the plot “twists” felt soap-opera-ey convenient. I love indie books, but this is third in a series and the mistakes were heavy. So much so, I began highlighting them. Not sure if it was the same for the 1st 2 books, but if it was, I didn’t notice them.

Renee March 23, 2016 at 3:01 PM

Carnage though? Yes. I wanted to drive that bus personally over the lot of them. And please, for the love of everything holy. Don’t make me read a sex scene immediately following a puking session if you aren’t going to brush your protagonist’s teeth. *steps down from soap box*

DG March 23, 2016 at 3:02 PM

I NEED CHOCOLATE bad.

Ela March 23, 2016 at 3:15 PM

Keep it cool DG! You got this!

Ground Rules was just kind of a pointless 3-book story FOR ME.

Carnage…Grrrrrrrrr just thinking about it pisses me off!

Fabi March 23, 2016 at 3:26 PM

“Is it bad that I still love the evil prince of the series? *sighs* I know. I need help.”

I’ll walk with you to the help center. I still love the evil prince too. :-/

Lisa March 23, 2016 at 3:58 PM

Carnage and Ground Rules are two series I missed and would now NEVER touch based on all of your reactions.
I waited until all 3 books were out with Ground Rules and by then all the Gggrrrring had started…and I thought…..mmmm maybe not.

Tessa March 23, 2016 at 4:40 PM

Never, Never part 3, Yeah, no words.

Yeah Fabi! We can go to hell together with that awesomely, totally evil, twisted prince.

Ela March 23, 2016 at 4:44 PM

I’m dying here! Which evil prince? The turned highlander???

Fabi March 23, 2016 at 4:57 PM

mmmmm, the turned highlander, I have a HUGE soft spot for him in my heart. But no, I think Tessa and I were talking about the imprisoned one. (if I remember correctly – my memory sucks)

Tessa March 23, 2016 at 5:17 PM

Yep. I adore that one.

bev March 23, 2016 at 5:20 PM

The rapist?

Fabi March 23, 2016 at 5:38 PM

ummmm, is it rape if she’s screaming for more?

bev March 23, 2016 at 5:42 PM

Am I talking about the wrong book, probably. I thought you were talking about KMM. And the one who was part of the four when *spoiler* was *spoiler* .
Weird this came up cause just read a great blog post(literally just finished reading it) and wanted to share.
Gotta grab the link.

Tessa March 23, 2016 at 5:43 PM

I think so, but I still adored him. *hangs head*

bev March 23, 2016 at 5:44 PM
bev March 23, 2016 at 5:47 PM

Then to answer Fabi, yes it is. Her ability to give consent was taken away. Like being drugged or passed out drunk.

Tessa March 23, 2016 at 5:52 PM

That’s why I said I think so. I didn’t say it was right to like him! :P

Michelle March 23, 2016 at 5:53 PM

Fabi, I tried the tool Maryse has above. No clue why I never checked it out but it’s awesome!! Thank you Maryse and Fabi for pointing it out :D I have the free trial for Audible right now, mostly because I wanted Fire Touched for free and I do not get why I would ever pay that much a month to continue though. What’s the benefit to having the subscription except reduced prices somewhat? Read about credits but still confused how to get them and how that’s cost effective.

Fabi March 23, 2016 at 6:03 PM

Michelle, like KU, the Audible subscription is cost-effective only if you use it enough to make it so. I’ve discontinued it and restarted it a couple of times based on how much I use audio books at the time.

Some audio books cost well into the $20′s, so the credit that you pay $14 for is cost-effective as long as you “buy” at least one of those per month. Mostly, it’s 1 credit = 1 book. Never use your credit on a $1.99 book because that would be throwing money away. Credits will roll over for a few months if there isn’t a good expensive book you want in a particular month. Also, and I may get in trouble for saying this, but if you try your subscription and then decide to cancel, they will usually give you a reduced price trial for 2-3 months.

The last one I used a credit on was Marked in Flesh. The price is $24.50 so by using a credit I saved about $10 on it. The next one I want to use a credit on is $17.14 (30% reduced because of the subscription and still $3 more than the monthly subscription costs).

I used to go through a couple of audio books a week so I had a higher credit subscription back then as well as taking advantage of their sales and bonus credit buys. Now I don’t spend as much time driving and read more on my Kindle so I take advantage of the Whispersync bargains we get when we already own the Kindle version of the book.

That was long…hope it made sense.

Fabi March 23, 2016 at 6:07 PM

Bev, you are correct. I wasn’t thinking of that particular instance. I was thinking more along the lines of the general public – the ones that willingly go into the club even knowing – everything.

But, yes, I’m still with Tessa. I don’t know why, but I am drawn to him. I think he’s shown some softness in the books along the way. Something that captured my attention I assume.

Cheryl March 23, 2016 at 6:24 PM

Good lord I missed a few days and there are 196 comments to go thru. Whew!! *waves to Bev*

Went to school with a girl named Candy Cane. Just makes you think stripper.

I’m still reading the Calendar Girl series with my friend. It’s been good, a little far-fetched at times and want to b!tch-slap the h sometimes, but overall a really good read. Just time consuming to read 12 books. Can’t wait to finish (and see how this ends) and move on to something else. Just have no idea what’s next. All this controversy over Collared puts it on the list and so many new releases from yesterday and today that I clicked!!

I agree about Ground Rules. Book 3 just ruined it for me because it was too convenient and contrived.

Michelle March 23, 2016 at 6:25 PM

Thank you Fabi it all makes sense now! :)

I definitley use KU enough to make it worth the monthly price but yeah I think I will cancel Audible. With the tool above, that’s way more practical for me and it will get me to whittle down my TBR. Maybe I can sign back up if there were a bunch of more expensive books I wanted and like you said that would make it worth the subscription.

DG March 23, 2016 at 6:31 PM

Ela..I AM DONE! Like literally done. Collared…the ending…I agree with you Ela. *huffing and puffing, kicking gravel around with foot*. I mean really, REALLY. I feel like I didn’t get what I wanted…I got over my panic in the beginning…about 40% in I was good. I could handle it, no worries it’s a breeze…My hope starts building. I am getting the feel goods…I’m picking the wrapping paper and what color bow to go on the box its going to be in at the end. AND then splat!?! I feel like I was sideswiped.

Michelle March 23, 2016 at 6:41 PM

Ookaaaay *buries Collared in my TBR and forgets about it*

DG March 23, 2016 at 6:50 PM

Michelle, it wasn’t the worst…I just expected and wanted more.

Michelle March 23, 2016 at 7:02 PM

Nope not doing it…that’s a pet peeve for me, craptastic endings. Makes me think of the recent one with Specimen and just *grrr*

bev March 23, 2016 at 7:33 PM

Oh, I’m not making a judgment on you liking him. *kicks him*
Just wasn’t sure I had the right guy. I’m kind of surprised with how he started that is the direction she went with him.
I started two books. Sweethearts. …tad disappointed so far but seems to be a fast read. The other nor connecting but just started it and that could change.

MichelleS March 23, 2016 at 7:38 PM

Fabi & Tessa… I, too, weirdly still am drawn to V’Lane aka Cruce or most powerful Fae Prince, whatever he is now!!! I just know he’ll be redeemed. Now I have to add Ryoden, too, after the whole save Shazam thing.

Amy March 23, 2016 at 7:59 PM

Guys, V’Lane? Really?? REALLY?!? I had a thing for him as well initially but after…THAT…no. Just NO.

Aw man, I don’t know if we can be friends anymore. *shakes head* Damn shame.

:P

bev March 23, 2016 at 8:00 PM

MichelleS are you going to read KA’s Bounty on the 18th?
Alright my reading friends. I am heading back into my hobbit hole to read.

MichelleS March 23, 2016 at 8:01 PM

What about Barrons in the book that shall not be named? huh? Huh? what. About. That. ? He gets a pass!!!

MichelleS March 23, 2016 at 8:02 PM

Bev. I’m so far behind its getting depressing. Haven’t even read her LAST new release. Sebring I think it was.

Fabi March 23, 2016 at 8:19 PM

I can’t believe no one is reading Finley with me. *sniff sniff* I don’t know if I’m just triggered by the situation or if it’s really as bad as I feel about it. *sniff* and nobody to commiserate with.

Fabi March 23, 2016 at 8:20 PM

Oh MichelleS! Ryodan and Shazam. That was so sad!!!

DG March 23, 2016 at 8:30 PM

Final book in Crossfire series, The Rose & the Dagger, AND Bounty…woohoo! April sounds promising….

bev March 23, 2016 at 8:36 PM

Wait can’t hobbit yet.
Maryse has her HR list up.
MichelleS forget those and just read Bounty with me….k?
I thought Barrons just took her memory. Did he persuade her in some way? I can’t remember. Haven’t read the new one yet. Just Jada. Pftt.

Tessa March 23, 2016 at 8:50 PM

Fabi! That broke my heart. *sniffs*

Amy. That is a list. Thanks.

Oh. I..uh..told Maryse what we were talking about. You remember. You want her to try These Old Shades. You were going to read it with us. Remember? HR in general really. Really the ones I want her to try. Remember? That night you had all the shots and maybe licked some tattoo. Sometime around then we talked.

Fabi March 23, 2016 at 9:32 PM

Lots of bargains Amy. Thanks!

Amy March 23, 2016 at 9:34 PM

What?!? Shots and tattoo licking?!?!? LOL!!!!!!

Oh good lord…how much did I drink that night ’cause I don’t remember that. *snort* But hey, I just looked up the blurb and it sounds intriguing. :D

Er, I just noticed at the bottom of the page there is a new post…is that where y’all are hanging out right now?

Amy March 23, 2016 at 9:34 PM

Oh, and y’all are welcome. ;)

Tessa March 23, 2016 at 9:40 PM

Thank you Amy!

I did post a few things there. It begged for posting, really!

Amy March 23, 2016 at 9:47 PM

M’kay, I’ll have to run over there and check things out. ;)

bev March 23, 2016 at 9:47 PM

It was your husband’s tat. You just never told us of what.

Maryse will post things and I read them with no memory of ever saying it. Or what or how exactly we ended up on that topic, lol.

Cheryl March 23, 2016 at 10:23 PM

Thanks for the list Amy.

All this talk of Barrons and V’Lane reminds me I need to catch up on that series; I think.

Maryse March 23, 2016 at 10:33 PM

I think someone blamed me for the tattoo licking… if I recall correctly… :P

Catherine March 23, 2016 at 11:03 PM

So in the last week I’ve read One Thousand Boy Kisses and Desperately Seeking Epic and I have NEVER cried so much!!!! I read ALOT, and these two books tore me in two. I don’t normally comment, but I love your blog Maryse and I just wanted to say you should read these books. They really are beautifully written and so emotionally perfect!

Amy March 23, 2016 at 11:09 PM

You were licking my hubby’s tats? *scratches head* Well where the he!! was I?? LOL!!!

Oh wait, was that the night where it was predicted that one of the Michelles was going to wander off and get arrested for tazing someone with her taser gun? I think I remember that now… :P

“It was your husband’s tat. You just never told us of what.” <—– Hehe, actually it should read "you just never told us which one." Excluding his three-quarter sleeve, he has…*counts in head*…eleven. So, I've no idea which one I was talking about that night. *snort*

Amy March 23, 2016 at 11:15 PM

Cheryl…I’ve only read through Shadowfever, and I’ve held off starting book 6 and beyond because I’m worried Barrons will disappoint me with his actions based on things I’ve read here. And I don’t want to be disappointed in him. :( BUT, there has also been some love for the new books so I don’t know. *shrug* Maybe we’ll venture into them together, eh?? ;)

Catherine!! Do you know how much I love hearing that about DSE??? *happy dance* I read A Thousand Boy Kisses as well, and it has been getting some love around here and in reviews!

bev March 23, 2016 at 11:17 PM

Maryse, however it is that you search the comments you should do it to “licking” or some variation there of. Let’s see what you ladies have been up to.

bev March 23, 2016 at 11:33 PM

The Darkest Part of the Forest is on sale. It sounds good and has good reviews.

Cristina March 24, 2016 at 7:35 AM

I love you guys! I read through all of your comments and they crack me up and put a smile on my face! :-)

Yes Ground Rules 3 should be nicknamed, “the book that shall not be named.” It’s not so much that I disagreed with who Mirella ended up with and much as the ending was just WAY TOOOOO convenient and rushed. The first two books in the series were AWESOME!!! And book three had the potential! You see, what made this series for me was that it WAS an unconventional love story, therefore, I believed and expected an unconventional ending. I knew it wasn’t going to be pretty, and I fully expected to be gutted. I knew someone was going to walk away heartbroken. This series went from HBO to 90′s daytime soap opera.

My reaction to Ground Rules book 3 was that of Ralphie from a Christmas Story after he decoded the Ovaltine message. I absolutely LOVED books 1 and 2 and couldn’t WAIT for book 3. I was a kid up at midnight waiting for it to download! I was biting at the nails waiting to see how it was all going to end! It was heartbreaking for me. I came close to writing my own alternative ending just to get some closure. I don’t think I’ve ever been so angry at a book ending in my life!! :-(

FYI Ela, I posted a reply in the Collared forum. :-)

Jean March 24, 2016 at 8:07 AM

You guys are nuts! I always know when I wake up in the morning and have over 55 emails from this blog that I missed you guys chatting it up!

Thanks for that list Amy! I may need that fighter book.

I started Beyond the Cage…..only about 11% in and it’s good, but there was that instant attraction and kissing like 5 minutes after they met. Really?!? But he has not spoken a single word and that has me curious so I will continue.

Jean March 24, 2016 at 8:08 AM

And, I only read the first 3 Fever books and then you guys scared me from reading the rest!

Cait March 24, 2016 at 8:24 AM

Holy shittttt just got to the twist plot in collared Well holy god I had not predicted it! I’m gutted for her!!

Fabi March 24, 2016 at 8:49 AM

*floats on little island* all by my lonesome self ranting and raving at Finn and Brantley

Maryse March 24, 2016 at 8:57 AM

Cait… I accidentally read a spoiler (without even a spoiler warning). *sigh* I’m bummed. It sounded awesome but now that I *think* I know, it drives me crazy.

Maryse March 24, 2016 at 8:58 AM

Jean keep us up to date. That one intrigues me, and yeah… the immediate meeting and kissing would also have me hesitating but since he’s all brooding and non-talky and such, I suppose he has to speak via body language. LOL!!! :P

Fabi March 24, 2016 at 8:59 AM

Awww Maryse. Spoilers are the worst!

Cait March 24, 2016 at 9:06 AM

Maryse ye spoilers can totally ruin it honestly I think if I’d read the twist in this book ieouldnt have got but so far it’s good!!!! You probably have the spoiler right tho……,

Jean March 24, 2016 at 9:12 AM

Yes Maryse, he speaks with his body and his eyes!

I think I know the twist with Collared too and not sure I want to read it now. Some comments are giving me too many hints! Grrrr….

Ela March 24, 2016 at 9:12 AM

TOLD YA I SOOOOOOOOOOOOO TOLD YA ABOUT COLLARED!

Any who, what’s wrong with Barrons *puts up fists* he’s HAWT and should not even be put in the same sentence as rapist Cruce or whatever he goes by now, I’d like to call him stone fu&&er douche rapist…I’m still on Burned and am in no hurry to read it because I couldn’t get into Iced and the whole Dani story POV etc blah blah blah…that child just gets on my nerves!

bev March 24, 2016 at 9:13 AM

Jean, the burn factor is funny. Love a slow burn in all aspects. But then I’ve read books when the physical is fast but emotional very slow and it works. Or I’m in that mood for the over the top love at first sight. Just fun on occasion.

Cristina March 24, 2016 at 9:26 AM

Those of you that think they’ve figured the twist to Collared, please don’t let it detour you from reading the book. Did it surprise me? Yes, but honestly, even if I knew ahead of time, I still would have read it, and I don’t think it would have taken away much of the story for me. The journey that Jade, Torrin, and her family partake in after such a horrific tragedy makes for a beautiful story and definitely worth your time.

Cristina March 24, 2016 at 9:29 AM

Let me also add that as far as the ending of Collared… Did it come up a little short? Yes, BUT on a scale of 1 to 10, 10 being the worst, I’d put it at about a 4. (Ground Rules was a 15) I don’t want to say more because I don’t want to spoil anything for anyone.

Now I just have to figure out what to read next.

Jean March 24, 2016 at 9:35 AM

Yeah bev, sometimes it works and I’m hoping with this book it does. I mean, he doesn’t talk, and I want to get him to talk and I want to know right now what his first words will be. They will have to be significant in meaning!

Thanks for the input Christina! I did not totally give up on reading it yet!

Ela March 24, 2016 at 9:39 AM

YES! WHAT CHRISTINA SAID! I WOULDN’T MIND A NICE EPILOGUE.

I started Lost by Ker Dukey, one of the masters of Dark Reads!

Jean March 24, 2016 at 9:45 AM

Oh I just downloaded I See You Ela because it was on sale. Haven’t read this author before.

Ela March 24, 2016 at 10:10 AM

Jean????????? Seriously???? If you like thriller/psycho/ you should read Empathy by Ker….BUT I really loved this series she did with DH Sidebottom
https://www.goodreads.com/series/137171-deception

Ela March 24, 2016 at 10:11 AM

Oh and there is romance in the books just a tad different ;)

Jean March 24, 2016 at 10:16 AM

Um. Yeah, just checked and I have Empathy already….bought it back in June 2015……

Jean March 24, 2016 at 10:18 AM

Annnndddd I have FaCade, the first book in the Deception series! Ok, ok, I need to move these up on my list!

DG March 24, 2016 at 10:26 AM

Ela, I was thinking a short follow up NOVELLA!

Ela March 24, 2016 at 10:31 AM

I posted under the book’s questions on GR….Hopefully Nicole sees it!

She posted also on GR, that she did write an epilogue to the Fable of Us, and I remember people weren’t all that happy with that ending or so I’ve heard!

Amy March 24, 2016 at 11:31 AM

Unwanted spoilers suck. SUCK.

Aw crap…Maryse, did I mess up and spoil Cruel and Beautiful with all of my whining and then gushing?!? I thought I was careful, but crazy people also don’t think they’re crazy so…

OMG I’m cracking up over Cristina’s Christmas Story comment…”Son of a B!TCH” LOL!!!!!! I love that movie sooooooo much!!

Maybe these lists are not that good for us????

Fabi March 24, 2016 at 12:31 PM

Thank you Amy. I added Eden Rising by Andrew Cunningham and
Static Omnibus: An EMP Thriller by James Hunt. I try to limit what I add to my tbr now, even if it’s free, because I don’t think I’ll ever get to all the books already in there. So, I only add when it really catches my eye and these two are right up my apocalyptic alley. :-)

Amy March 24, 2016 at 4:27 PM

No problem, Fabi! Sometimes there are some real gems in the lists (that’s how I found Hausfrau, in fact…ya know, the one that put me in a frenzy ;) ). Now we just need to convince Ela the sale lists and Maryse’s awesome lists are a GOOD thing!

GUYS!! It’s first line Thursday and we forgot. So…
“This is the happiest moment of my whole life.” ~ Collared by Nicole Williams

Ela March 24, 2016 at 4:36 PM

I LOVE THE LISTS IT’S JUST THAT THEY INFLATE MY TBR *KISSES*

Fabi March 24, 2016 at 4:49 PM

I completely forgot about FLT. Thanks for the reminder Amy.

“It’s time to come home Finn.”
Finley by Ella Frank

Tessa March 24, 2016 at 7:02 PM

FLT:
“Where are my clothes?”
Born in Betrayal by Sherrilyn Kenyon

You know, I almost forget how good her writing is until I pick up another one of her books.

Fabi March 24, 2016 at 8:37 PM

Oh that one is good Tessa. It’s about Fain right?

Tessa March 24, 2016 at 9:04 PM

Yes! I still have to read Dancer’s story, but his prologue just makes me roll my eyes. I’m sure it’s good. I just haven’t gotten past the prologue.

Renee March 24, 2016 at 9:11 PM

Hey everybody! What’s first line thursday? First line of any book or the book you’re currently reading?

Renee March 24, 2016 at 9:12 PM

Oops I used a different email. It says “waiting moderation” wonder if that’s why?

Renee March 24, 2016 at 9:13 PM

Yep

Renee March 24, 2016 at 9:14 PM

What’s first line Thursday? 1st from any book or the one you’re currently reading?

Tessa March 24, 2016 at 9:22 PM

The one you’re reading, no matter how bad that line is.

Celeste March 24, 2016 at 9:27 PM

Note to self: When your mom hands you a new dress, a bus pass, and a bikini wax certificate, be afraid. Very afraid.

From Music Notes. And that’s about as far as I’ve gotten, lol. I like the premise, so we’ll see :)

Celeste March 24, 2016 at 9:28 PM

Music Notes is by Lacey Black, I should add.

Renee March 24, 2016 at 9:29 PM

“The lucidness of the dream defied all logic.” From “At the Heart of the Stone” by Roxanne D. Howard. She’s an author I beta’d for (not this book) so I wanted to check it out. It’s about a hot Irish dude that comes alive in her dreams and then alive in her life. Hot premise! Hoping for the best!

DG March 24, 2016 at 9:42 PM

39% into 9 Letters and I am bawling like a baby…..no shame.

Amy March 24, 2016 at 9:47 PM

You guys got it, Renee and Celeste. ;)

Yeah, sometimes the first lines get pretty wild and it’s hilarious. King by TM Frazier was one where those of us reading it couldn’t post the first line of the prologue because it was THAT bad, LOL!!!

Amy March 24, 2016 at 9:49 PM

*hands Manny over to DG*

bev March 24, 2016 at 10:13 PM

I’m reading 4 books. Ok here we go.
“A dripping faucet. ” ~Sweethearts by Sara Zarr
“I toss my bag in the door of my rental car and pratically throw myself in after it.”~In the Middle of Somewhere by Roan Parrish
“Reeve remembered everything about that morning. “~Tiffany Girl by Deanne Gist
“I’m a liar. “~Year of Yes by Shonda Rhimes

Renee March 24, 2016 at 10:18 PM

Shonda Rhimes the producer? I had no idea. Is it a biography?

Fabi March 24, 2016 at 10:27 PM

Tessa I’ve read all of them. I love that PNR (or is it sci fi romance) series. I like the 1st generation stories best but I’ll take any of them.

Renee the premise of yours sounds like my kind of book. I’m going to check that out.

Ok…I’m going to go finish crying over Finley so I can start Jean’s rec, Kept, next.

bev March 24, 2016 at 10:29 PM

Yes, she writes about the year she decided to say yes. Her sister mentions to her that she never says yes. This is in 13/14 so she is already hugely successful but lots of changes occur.

bev March 24, 2016 at 10:30 PM

Amy, what’s Maryse reading?

DG March 24, 2016 at 10:36 PM

“The dirty, cracked vinyl on the bus seat rubbed uncomfortably against the back of my bare thighs.” Strike by Holly S Roberts

*hugs Manny close* Letter #5 just got me. Gah!

Tessa March 24, 2016 at 10:37 PM

Bev, did you ever get around to reading MiF?

Fabi, I like them all so far, but I just have to read Dancer’s story. That prologue makes it seem so predictable, you know?

bev March 24, 2016 at 10:53 PM

I haven’t. I KNOW.
That week was so busy and stressful. Well, really two weeks in a row. Until this weekend I had only read Wow & Me for this month. When I had time to read I just wanted to sleep, lol.
Anyways, my mood was just off. So I decided to read Fire Touched on Friday/Sat. Just needed an easy fast read. Then jumped into The Kraken King. Really fun.
IDK, sounds weird probably but I was stressed/emotional /tired and didn’t want to bring those emotions into the experience. Next week it’s mine, lol.

Amy March 24, 2016 at 11:30 PM

*scratches head*

Ummmmm, I’m not sure what she’s reading right now…last I remember (I’ll have to scroll up and take a look) Collared was spoiled for her, and there were others she was considering before that. She’s being sweet and saving her new Pepper Winters for this weekend so it’s closer to when it is released. ;)

Ohhhhhhh Maryyyyyyyyyyse…whatcha reading, huh?

Amy March 25, 2016 at 12:25 AM

*blink*

I just got to THAT part in Collared.

*blink*

Well, damn…I can honestly say I didn’t see that one coming.

*shakes head*

DG March 25, 2016 at 12:51 AM

*hanging Manny up to dry* I knew it was going to hurt….I just didn’t know how bad. Initially, it wasn’t that bad until I hit that 39% mark. I have bawled through this book. Like a baby I have bawled. GAH! The range of emotions of h..anger, sadness, guilt, more anger, and a whole lot of sadness. Then wrapped in the outer layers…a ‘Rae’ of hope.

Grey March 25, 2016 at 1:15 AM

Finished collared. Onto the next. No idea what I’m gonna read now… Was thinking the Tied Man….bases on you alls rec last week when I asked for dark…

Cait March 25, 2016 at 3:40 AM

So finished collared last night and I loved it!! I couldn’t put it down! I actually thought the ending was appropriate and all things taking into account it would have been unrealistic to finish differently! What was missing was an epilogue 2/3 years down the line to just round it off!! I would give it 4stars defo worth the read!
Ela might want to know my head against a wall lol!

bev March 25, 2016 at 8:25 AM

I just saw this posted and had never read it or heard it before. Nice way to start the day.

http://m.poemhunter.com/poem/love-after-love/

Ela March 25, 2016 at 8:57 AM

Oh no Cait, I agree to some degree BUT IT IS MISSING AN EPILOGUE!!!!!! And for her to *spoiler* Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr I can’t write anything cause I’ll spoil it….there’s a spoiler thread set up so:

http://talk.maryse.net/posts/105522/

Ela March 25, 2016 at 8:59 AM

OMG LET ME TELL YOU LADIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I READ LOST BY KER DUKEY AND AFTER I FINISHED IT I ALMOST THREW UP WELL I DID A LITTLE IN MY MOUTH! THAT BOOK SHOULD’VE HAD A DEFINATE WARNING “3 SICK PEDO F*CKS READ AT YOUR OWN DISCRETION” ALTHOUGH I DON’T THINK THAT’S EVEN ENOUGH!

Fabi March 25, 2016 at 9:12 AM

Jean!!! Kept Prologue, major trigger for me. I don’t know if I can read this. Is it going to focus a lot on this? I assume it has to. I don’t want to need immediate therapy after reading this book. Please advice. lol

bev March 25, 2016 at 9:15 AM

Maryse, I hope that flooding is missing you.

Grey March 25, 2016 at 9:19 AM

I’m waiting for my confirmation email… Maryse, HELP! I’ve tried a couple times before… maybe my email is broken *pout* i’ve looked in my spam… IDK!

Collared was good for me… I gave it a 4 star. I am in a rut, I need something to wow me… I started something last night.. I dont even know what it was, wasn’t The Tied Man… something short and smutty hah, I am supposed to be writing LOL!

Jean March 25, 2016 at 9:25 AM

Not sure what your trigger is fabi. Just went back and read the prologue. If it’s what I think, then no it is not the main focus. You can email me through GR to clarify. Don’t give up!

Ela March 25, 2016 at 9:28 AM

Who’s the author of Kept ladies???

Cheryl March 25, 2016 at 9:29 AM

Amy, yes I left off on Iced. Started reading it, but just couldn’t get into Dani’s POV. Missed Barrons and Mac POV. I will say I enjoyed the rapport between V’Lane & Mac up until the true V’Lane was revealed and then just eck no way.

Jean March 25, 2016 at 9:29 AM

And since I missed first line Thursday and finished Beyond the Cage (which I must admit was somewhat anti-climatic), I’ll give you my first lines for today’s book.

Prologue: The boy in the red hoodie kept staring at me in the checkout line. (The Fire Between High & Lo by Brittainy Cherry). And since the first line of Chapter 1 is short (and kinda funny) “I’d watched a documentary on pie.”

Cheryl March 25, 2016 at 9:31 AM

First line thursday (obviously late):

“Snowflakes. Unique, fragile, and no two were alike.” November: Calendar Girl Book 11 by Audrey Carlan. Almost done, yeh!!

Jean March 25, 2016 at 9:58 AM

Ela, Kept is by A.C. Bextor

Fabi March 25, 2016 at 10:05 AM

Thank you Jean. I kept going. I’m on chapter 5 and it is so freakin’ good!

Jean March 25, 2016 at 10:16 AM

Yay fabi!

Cait March 25, 2016 at 10:34 AM

Fabi I read kept during the week and I liked it! I thought it an easy read! 4starfir me

Fabi March 25, 2016 at 11:07 AM

Yeah, well…what you guys consider an easy read is probably mid to high angst for me. :-) It’s all good though. I’m loving it so far. I could actually use a simpler read after Finley. That one tied me up in knots.

Maryse March 25, 2016 at 11:15 AM

Oh poo on the anti-climactic. *sigh* It sounded like it could be so much silent-alpha-bossy-brooding fun.

Maryse March 25, 2016 at 11:18 AM

We had MASSIVE thunder storm last night with a ton of rain, but it was the wind that scared me. The worst I’ve ever heard, other than a hurricane…

Kandace is actually at my house right now (and for the weekend!!) but I think she slept right through it. LOL!

Maryse March 25, 2016 at 11:19 AM

*whoa* Ela… good warning. Thank you!

Jean March 25, 2016 at 11:19 AM

Yep Maryse. I liked it but would have been ok if he NEVER talked. The reason for his silence was so not what I was expecting!

Maryse March 25, 2016 at 11:25 AM

Grey… Tied Man is DARK!!!!!!! I LOVED IT but I almost put it down for good at one point, it was so crazy!!!

That said, I’ve been reading this author’s blog posts lately and she is one of the best writers I’ve ever read. The latest blog posts are her real life, and she had both my mom and I sobbing. Truly… if only she had more than one book out. And when she does, she will definitely be considered my forever-favorite.

Her latest blog posts (that I’ve been reading starts here): http://scrawlinginthemargins.com/2016/03/02/everything-changes-and-nothing-changes-at-all-part-one/

Amy March 25, 2016 at 11:33 AM

DANGIT! *sniffle* This is SO stupid. Being overloaded with hormones is making Collared so much harder than it has to be.

First Cruel and Beautiful, now Collared…screw it all. I’m heading to the courtyard after this. Maybe. I don’t know. Dangit.

Except…it looks like one of your little friends escaped, Bev.
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/newsvideo/weirdnewsvideo/12120565/Shetland-pony-evades-police-in-bizarre-chase-through-housing-estate.html

Maryse March 25, 2016 at 11:33 AM

Er… you guys?

Um..

Well…

I am hanging with Kandace, and between two books. She Dims the Stars (which is good… fantastic writing, about an impromptu road trip between a trio of friends and a search for answers to an interesting backstory) but not exciting me the way I hoped.

So… ummm… you guys. I dove into Pepper Winters Unseen Messages and so far it is EXACTLY what I want to read. BADLY. I’m only in the first 10% so I haven’t left anyone in the dust yet. Tee hee!!

Amy March 25, 2016 at 11:43 AM

Girls weekend AND finding the perfect read? Now all you need are some Easter-themed cocktails for you two…

Give me a little bit and I’ll find some for ya. ;)

Amy March 25, 2016 at 11:46 AM
Renee March 25, 2016 at 11:56 AM

OMG that is the cutest martini ever! I was just going to float peeps in pink champagne, might need to rethink that now!

Amy March 25, 2016 at 12:15 PM

Renee, right?? If I hadn’t already eaten all of the Peeps in my house (including the three mystery flavors…SO fun!), then I could make one right now. Uhhh, I mean later. :P

Not like I *have* to have Peeps for the drink, but it’s just so darn cute with them! Guess I’m running to the store in a little while…

Ela March 25, 2016 at 12:28 PM
Maryse March 25, 2016 at 12:55 PM

Amy nope. I have no idea what you said about Cruel & Beautiful and you never spoil it.

And anyway… that other spoiler? It was flat out spoiled! She didn’t go into detail, but she flat out said ONE key word that made all the difference in a jaw-dropping moment to a spoiled moment.

Cheryl March 25, 2016 at 1:03 PM

Maryse. Ugh, my heart. That certainly explains why there has not been a second book to The Tie Man yet. Heartbreaking!!

I think I need the peeps or Cadbury martini, or both, now!

Maryse March 25, 2016 at 1:35 PM

OH my goodness, bev… lots of licking book-heroes to claim them. THAT will be my next list. :P What a great idea. My wonderful book friends continue to inspire some fun conversations and book lists!!! LOL!

Ela March 25, 2016 at 1:45 PM

THAT is so damn sad! The poor woman and her daughter!

Maryse March 25, 2016 at 2:00 PM

I was team V’lane for the most part (even though I loved Barrons, V’lane brought some emotional relief, where Barrons was SO DARN MEAN!!!! I kind of wish we had another Barrons-type though).

And I loved the V’lane reveal. That was crazy!!! So good.

Amy March 25, 2016 at 2:20 PM

Oh hell, my heart just broke for her after reading her posts. I’m a sniffling, sobbing, snotty-nosed mess right now.

Maryse…good then, you can read Cruel and Beautiful pretty much blind. I recommend avoiding my comments until AFTER you’ve read it unless you reaaalllly want some inkling of what’s going on in it.

Oh my…a caramel Cadbury martini?? I’m so gettin’ drunk tonight.

bev March 25, 2016 at 2:33 PM

Do you think Maryse & Kandance are eating bread, nutella, olives, salami, hotdogs, peanut butter, fries & mustard?

Jean March 25, 2016 at 2:36 PM

Wow Maryse, that blog post just broke my heart. Thanks for sharing.

Maryse March 25, 2016 at 2:40 PM

I know it, right? So personal and raw. I just cried and cried. And I just want to read everything she ever writes.

Ela March 25, 2016 at 2:43 PM

Another Barrons??? What about Reyes? Charley Davidson’s man? Or Ryder? Syn’s man??? You know from the Charley Davidson Series and Fae Chronicles, respectively????? Are y’all sleeping???

DG March 25, 2016 at 4:02 PM

Shout out to Jean! I am loving Kept!!!!

Jean March 25, 2016 at 4:05 PM

Yay DG!

Jean March 25, 2016 at 4:07 PM

Fabi and DG, how far into Kept are you? Don’t you love broody Michael and that sassy Lucy!?!

Fabi March 25, 2016 at 6:05 PM

I’m at 40%. Yes! I love these two.
