in Latest Book Releases

<— Okay yeah… I know… rolleyes I’m cheating a bit ’cause this one hasnt been released yet, but it’s coming out soon, is up for pre-order and…. OMG finally! LOL! :P

Yep! But that’s not the only great news. It’s a great release day all around from much-loved paranormal authors, to crazy-awesome sounding steamy reads JUST FOR ME!!! AND US! Plus, a few exciting pre-orders that just came to light and have so many of us *squeeeeeeing!!!* (like Captivated By You up there, and Smiley by Laurann Dohner).

Okay so here are a few that have me waggling my eyebrows with excitement. I wanna try ‘em! Uncivilized <— HELLO!?? Have you seen this blurb. He’s a SAVAGE. For real! GAH! YES!! and Without You Here (sad looking sexy older man… at the bar she’s at. Married? Not sure… but sounds like heartache for them…), Crash Into You (on the run from ex, with his dirty-money! *eeeeep!* survives plane crash… escapes into the mountains and meets a doctor!).

Okay so I’m still adding to this as we speak, but we’re in a HUGE rain/wind-storm right now, and I fear I may be losing electricity soon enough. LOL! Or maybe my roof. GAH!!!! :P Okay so here’s the list so far…

P.S. Let me know if I’m missing any or if you loved any (from this list or elsewhere).

BARGAINS (NOTE: bargain priced when I added them, but prices can change on Amazon, so make sure to check before you finalize your order).

There’s also the plan for revenge he wants my help with…
  • Taking Control: A Novel (Kerr Chronicles Book 2) by Jen Frederick <— and here’s book #2!

I’m part of the story, too, but I’m an aside, a quick line or two you’d all but forgotten about. Well guess what? I’ve got my own story to tell. Buckle up, ‘cause this is gonna be a hell of a bumpy ride.

Needing Moore was sweet and angsty – highly recommend!
  • Skipping Stones by J.B. McGee <— super-angsty sounding one! It’s a standalone, she’s grieving a loss, meets someone who helps her begin her healing process and then… “…she’s made it her personal mission in life to save as many lives as possible. The extreme high she gets from treating trauma victims turns into Alex’s own form of therapy, or so she thinks. When faced with her world being turned upside down, Alex may just find that her true therapy is in the one who has always saved her.

  • Beast Part 3: An Erotic Fairy Tale by Ella James
  • Uncivilized by Sawyer Bennett <— OH MY!!!!!!! WHAT. IS. THIS!??? “Savage man, loner, warrior… I am dangerous at my core. I have lived amidst the untamed wild of the rainforest, in a society that reveres me and where every woman falls before me in subjugation. Now I’ve been discovered. Forced to return to a world that I have forgotten about and to a culture that is only vaguely familiar to my senses. Dr. Moira Reed is an anthropologist who has been hired to help me transition back into modern society. It’s her job to smooth away my rough edges… to teach me how to navigate properly through this new life of mine. She wants to tame me…” Ooomph! And Chris just told me: “Excellent Maryse. • A Family Affair: Fall: Truth in Lies, Book 4 by Mary Campisi <— “Gina Servetti was raised to believe she wasn’t enough–not thin enough, not pretty enough, not clever enough. I’m squeezing over Captivated by You too. It sounds solo good. Too many good ones released today, but Witch with No Name is first before all. It’s one of my all time favorite series. Here’s to hoping she ends up with whom I want her too.

Lauren September 9, 2014 at 12:46 PM

Open Road (A Bikers Anthology) has Renegade Lady (see bargain books) in it as one of the 9 full length books. It also has Holding On (Lights of Peril) from the “Suddenly Sunday Sales”. And Throttle by Chelle Bliss & Ravage Me (Ravage MC) which I think both came up on a bargain list recently. Just letting you know so you don’t accidentally double up!

Lauren September 9, 2014 at 12:47 PM

Oh, FYI….I’m goin full on MC books today…getting ready for an hr & a half Sons of Anarchy premiere tonight!!!! Yea!

Shell September 9, 2014 at 12:53 PM

The Complete : EMI Lost & Found by Lori L. Otto is on sale price, The Year We Fell Down by Sarina Bowen, Ford by JA Huss and The Complete Needing Moore Series are also on sale.
By the way has anyone read The Needing Moore Series?
I am reading ‘Uncivilised’ and more than half way through, it’s very HOT.

Maryse September 9, 2014 at 1:01 PM

I like VERY hot. ;)

Okay I’m going to add a few if these bargains, Shell. THANKS!!

Julie September 9, 2014 at 1:01 PM

^^yes – I read the Needing Moore series and loved it! I five starred the last book and I’m stingy with those five star ratings! $3.99 is a great price for all three books and they are finished although a spin off is planned and I can’t wait to read it or anything else she writes. Needing Moore was sweet and angsty – highly recommend!

bev September 9, 2014 at 1:06 PM

Rock Addiction!!! I may grab The Hook Up as iv heard good things about the author’s other work and this one in particular.
Need to see if I can finish All of You. I’m made at the heroine right now. I see why Kat is doing it BUT she is hurting Danny and I don’t like that. All he wants is a family.

Shell September 9, 2014 at 1:07 PM

Thanks Julie, I will go and One Click it now as I was not very sure about it.

Shell September 9, 2014 at 1:11 PM

YES Maryse VERY HOT, some might not think so but I do and back story is good too, not much angst but easy read and I was in the mood for hot and easy read.

Maryse September 9, 2014 at 1:12 PM

Thank you Lauren!!!

bev September 9, 2014 at 1:13 PM

Yay!! I have the first book in the Moore series. I love knowing that I have gems waiting.

Maryse September 9, 2014 at 1:16 PM

Okay I added that one too, Julie! :D

Jean September 9, 2014 at 1:23 PM

Loved the Tear Asunder series… Highly recommend it!

Ooooo I have the first book in the Moore series too! 1-clicked Uncivilized immediately!!

Amy September 9, 2014 at 1:56 PM

*snicker* Bang Bang…oh, my mind went to all kinds of dirty with that one. Those pecs on the cover…with Bang Bang on them…what they would look like while he’s doing his ba– Um, what were we talking about??

The Lover’s Game *oomphed* me! And if y’all want, I will be the guinea pig for Palace Hills because *that* looks interesting. Gah, I can’t even list the books I just one-clicked without taking up a ton of space here…as if I don’t already do that. *snort*

Okay, did anyone else get their heart, gut and ovaries punched by Time Stands Still (Emi Lost & Found book 2)?? I swear I had a rock in my throat throughout that whole freaking book and would spontaneously just sob!!! Yeah, yeah…drama mama and all that. Whatever. It kicked my a$$.

Tessa September 9, 2014 at 2:07 PM

You want to talk hot covers. Did you see Uncivilized’s cover?

Jean September 9, 2014 at 2:12 PM

Amy! Haha! I did a lot of 1-clicking today too! Totally wanted Bang Bang since I had seen a blurb for it a while ago and I love Rachel Van Dyken!!

Tessa, YES very HOT!!

bev September 9, 2014 at 3:10 PM

@Amy I had to put it down. I was so shocked and sad. Even after the end of bk 1 I didn’t think it was going there. And I loved book 1 characters, so have a hard time letting go. Plus so not the right time for that book for me.

Michelle September 9, 2014 at 4:07 PM

Also the Rylee Adamson series by Shannon Mayer is on sale with all books 1-7 for .99 each. Book 8 Wounded releases today. It’s a great PNR series that’s highly addicting!

Lori September 9, 2014 at 4:19 PM

I loved Losing Control and Taking Control by Jen Fredrick! So good! Definitely a reread for me.
Boarded by Love by Toni Aleo was good, not my favorite of hers, but I enjoyed it.
I hate when I kill my book budget early, darn it. I really want to read Uncivilized and The Hookup, but they’ll gave to wait until payday.

Broken and Burned by A. J. Downey is bring released today. The second in a series. The first, Scared and Shattered was very good.

Cheryl September 9, 2014 at 4:45 PM

Started Rock Addiction. Really enjoying it so far.

Jean September 9, 2014 at 4:52 PM

Just started Uncivilized! Oh, I think this is gonna be good!!!!

Cindy September 9, 2014 at 5:15 PM

Last Light by M. Pierce is up for pre-order (Release date is 10/28/14.)
Just finished Night Owl and I am dying for book #2. Like, seriously, DYING! What a book and what a cliffhanger!

MichelleS September 9, 2014 at 5:16 PM

Well, first, let me say that Sylvia Day waited WAY TOO LONG between book releases. She needed to get on that 50 Shades band-wagon and pump them out a bit quicker. I am so over the billionaire bad boy BDSM thing – and it’s expensive! ARGH!!! I have no clue what Mr. Gideon Cross was up to in book 3. Gone. Whoosh. Alzheimer’s. Going to wait for the library copy as my own little protest to authors who do this to us.

Okay, moving on………

Have to admit, the one about the wild man being tamed sounds like a romping good time. Totally predictable, but, maybe fun?

I am in a snarky mood. Sorry.

Jean September 9, 2014 at 5:28 PM

MichelleS, I agree. She waited too long. I would have to reread the whole series to remember what happened….I’ve just read too many books in between.

Maryse September 9, 2014 at 5:40 PM

Heh. I love you guys. Just sayin’ ;)

Amy September 9, 2014 at 5:49 PM

Bev, I know. I saw book 2 was going to be her POV, read the blurb, thought I knew where it was going and then NO!!!!!!! Ugh. That one was rough.

Yeah MichelleS!!!! Stick it to the man!!! Er…or to whoever. *snicker*

Amy September 9, 2014 at 5:57 PM

Awwww…big group hug around Maryse!!!!!

First one to call me creepy is getting pelted. Not sure with what yet, but it will be *something*. :P

bev September 9, 2014 at 6:07 PM

Rainbow Sprinkles.

Cheryl September 9, 2014 at 6:16 PM

MichelleS I totally agree that too much time has gone by since last book. It’s hard to stay interested in a series that drags out and I also wonder how long until the 5th book.

*Snarky must be contagious!! *Group Hug* ;)

Cheryl September 9, 2014 at 7:09 PM

Maryse & Amy- I got the Urban Decay Naked2 basics eye shadow palette today. Love all the neutral colors and had a “lesson” on using the palette at Sephora!! Also got the Sephora favorites lip sampler. Love trying out all the different brands and types of lip color!!!! YEH!!!!!!!!!

Lauren September 9, 2014 at 8:04 PM

I totally agree about the Crossfire books….it was supposed to be a trilogy, now it’s going to be 5 books? The last book was more of a novella really. Oh, and the way I see it….no WAY can either of em walk, talk, or breathe really considering that novel-sized pre-nup they signed. Hope Gideon doesn’t accidentally glance @ another woman….BAM!!! There goes half! CROSSFIRE!!! I know it’s their “safe word” but it’s my new favorite curse word. CROSSFIRE!!!!

Amy September 9, 2014 at 8:05 PM

Just don’t ask me to throw sugar martinis along with the sprinkles ’cause I am staying sober for the SOA season premiere tonight. :D Then it is on to Translucent per Jean’s demand…I mean, per her request. ;)

Cheryl, Urban Decay is one of my absolute favorite brands, and I LOVE my Naked palettes! I end up interchanging the colors between all three palettes and end up with so many different looks. I have to recommend the UD Eyeshadow Primer Potion, especially if you spend a decent amount of time on your eye makeup. That stuff keeps your eyeshadow and eyeliner looking fresh for hours, even in humidity. No creasing!!

Amy September 9, 2014 at 8:07 PM

Lauren, kind of like “butterfly” in the Slammed series. ;)

bev September 9, 2014 at 8:38 PM

I’m still behind on last season of SOA. And sad from what I know of it. And mad at Jax from what I’ve seen of it. But will be reading a recap of it tomorrow. Can’t believe last season. Has me so scared for the guys of SAMCRO.
Just clicked Rock Addiction and The Hook Up. But am going to finish All of You first.
So, what is everyone reading tonight?
Or are all you ladies visiting Charming tonight?

Maryse September 9, 2014 at 9:09 PM

Ohhh Amy!! I hope your pelting us with the manatee. Or martinis. ;)

Maryse September 9, 2014 at 9:11 PM

Ohhhh YAY Cheryl!!! I love trying different ways to apply my makeup. I’m actually getting better at the eyeshadow blending thing. I kept things very limited in my past, but now I’m playing with 3 and 4 colors at a time… FUN!!

Maryse September 9, 2014 at 9:11 PM

Lauren! LOL!!!!!!!! That totally made me *snort*!!

Nikitab September 9, 2014 at 9:12 PM

Reading the Needing Moore series and….zzz…oops, sorry: half way through and I fell asleep. Please tell me it gets better…it feels predictable and sort of meh. I’m already reading other things before continuing. Anyone else feel the lull, too?

Maryse September 9, 2014 at 9:12 PM

I need to catch up big time on Sons of Anarchy. I left off on the season where his son was kidnapped… yes I’m wayyyyyy behind.

Maryse September 9, 2014 at 9:12 PM

Hi Nikitab!

I haven’t read it yet…

Michelle F September 9, 2014 at 9:27 PM

One-clicked Uncivilized as soon as I saw it… I mean as soon as I read the blurb, cuz I sure wouldn’t buy a book just from looking at the cover! (Uh huh, ya right.) But seriously, have you seen that cover??? I’m reading Cara McKenna’s new one, Lay It Down, and loving it so far at almost 50% in. But Uncivilized is definitely next on the TBR list. :-D

Lauren September 9, 2014 at 9:52 PM

Nalini’s new one is awesome!! Read it in the one sitting!!

Michelle S September 9, 2014 at 10:06 PM

Cara McKenna’s new on? wha wha wha what? I LOVE her writing – now I have to go and see what that’s all about!

Fabi September 9, 2014 at 10:22 PM

Maryse you wore out my one-click finger before I was halfway through with your list this time. Soooo…

I switched to my left hand. :P

I think my clicking habit is replacing my reading habit since I seem to be spending more time on your blog and buying your recommendations than reading books. How in the world do you find so many good ones? Thank you solo much for sharing.

Joe September 9, 2014 at 10:43 PM

Love your site and it’s kept me so busy w tons of reads! I have to share one that I recently finish. Black Lies by Alessandra Torre. Amazing story – unique twist that will leave you wanting to reread it again because you won’t believe what happens! It’s well written and very well thought out! Guarantee you won’t be disappointed in this stand alone.

Tessa September 9, 2014 at 11:06 PM

Fabi! Thanks for the Angel fall recommendation. I’m already done with both books, and omg good. I want the third book!

Fabi September 9, 2014 at 11:33 PM

So glad you liked it Tessa. That’s the drawback to Susan Ee, it takes her a long time to get a new book out. I try not to complain, because I’ve also experienced great authors who, due to publishing time constraints, have to put out a sub par product.

I picked up several from Maryse’s PNR list above, so there isn’t a lack of new material out there. :-)

Maryse September 10, 2014 at 12:43 AM

Oh goodness… I’m waiting for Amy’s reaction on that comment, Fabi. *snort* :P

Amy September 10, 2014 at 1:25 AM

Fabi!! OMG I’m dying here! How is that left hand working out for ya, huh? Is it as, ahem, productive as the right one?? LOL!!!!! :P

Fabi has a one-clicker!!!!! I don’t know whether to feel bad for ya or be jealous of ya!!! OMG, it’s a quick-click!!!! BAHAHAHAHA!!!

Amy September 10, 2014 at 1:45 AM

Joe, Black Lies WAS really, really good! Did you see *that* coming in the story? ;)

And Maryse, I’ll gladly pelt y’all with martinis but *no* manatee pelting…I’m starting either Unlit Star or Bright Side after Translucent, and I know I’m gonna need him!

*still snickering over Fabi’s comment* :P

Fabi September 10, 2014 at 2:22 AM

Amy you are bound and determined to make me pee my pants laughing aren’t you?

Sheesh, I let my mind wander out of the gutter for just a minute or two and here comes Amy, dragging it right back in.

Now I can’t stop laughing. omg

Cheryl September 10, 2014 at 7:08 AM

LOL!! Never a dull moment around here with the pelting and hand clicking!!!

Amy- thanks for the rec on eye primer. I picked up one that was free (BM 5 in 1) with my points, but I’ll try the UD.

Maryse- I know what you mean. I was pretty neutral with eye colors before.

Michelle S September 10, 2014 at 7:52 AM

Was reading Maryse’s FB page and everyone is hot and heavy over Uncivilized. Kandance called it “uber smexy”. I cannot WAIT to read this jungle-love that’s got everyone worked up. Anyone else game to read it? I’m imagining “Transcendence” like wild man (kzzzzz beh) in a loin cloth (Tarzan noises in background). I always loved Tarzan! Maryse? You in next with the wild man of Borneo?

Jean September 10, 2014 at 8:43 AM

I am loving Uncivilized you guys!!!!

Maryse September 10, 2014 at 9:15 AM

I’m in! I finished Rule. It was pretty great. I’d say about 4 stars, but I loved the flow of it, and his intensity. Believed it… Nothing too crazy (emotion-wise/love-fog wise for me) hence the 4 star rating, but darn good!

I’ll be posting review tonight hand jumping in with y’all with the Uncivilized…

Maryse September 10, 2014 at 9:16 AM

Thank you Joe!

I too loved Black Lies. That author is really good about keeping the romance mystery going and hitting is over the head with twists. Love that! :D

bev September 10, 2014 at 9:52 AM

Rock Addiction for me tonight. CAN. NOT. WAIT.
Last two days and next two days have been and will be thin reading days. But today will be a good one. I’ll get to finish up All of You. Still mad at heroine, lol.

Tessa September 10, 2014 at 10:21 AM

After Witch With No Name, I’ll be in too. The cover alone makes me want to read it. Amy, I normally do not like sad books, but seriously! Bright Side. Read it. We’ll be here to give tons of hugs while you do.

*still sniffling over book*

Maryse September 10, 2014 at 10:25 AM

Yeah that cover is HOT STUFF!!!! And she’s all…. “…okay :D !!”

Jean September 10, 2014 at 11:00 AM

Omg….Zach from Uncivilized….. he’s just so, so, uncivilized!! Lol!

Fabi September 10, 2014 at 11:32 AM

I’m almost at a point where I’ll start my next read. I wouldn’t mind fitting Uncivilized in next if it’s a good story.

Maryse September 10, 2014 at 11:45 AM

Hee hee Michelle! I don’t think he just wants to “kzzzzz beh” < — ;)

GAH! I am imagining all sorts of uncivilized things right now. *snort*

Fabi September 10, 2014 at 11:55 AM

I’m curious how the book spins out. In the wild, the males may be savage but it’s the females who decide who and when. I’m intrigued, but really hope it’s not a week female character.

Jean September 10, 2014 at 11:56 AM

It’s so good guys and different and i am only at 20%! I want all of you to read it with me!!

Fabi September 10, 2014 at 11:57 AM

I’ve almost convinced myself so it’ll be either tonight or tomorrow.

Fabi September 10, 2014 at 11:58 AM

*weak* omg

Jean September 10, 2014 at 11:59 AM

Female character is not weak Fabi. And although he is uncivilized, he is one hot alpha dominating male!!!!!!

Jean September 10, 2014 at 12:03 PM

Oh and he hates her……right now anyway…..

bev September 10, 2014 at 12:10 PM

Jean I love how much you are loving it.

Cheryl September 10, 2014 at 12:40 PM

Really making me interested in reading Uncivilized and I wasn’t all that interested when I first looked at. Thought “predictable.” LOL

Maryse- can’t wait for Amy to jump on your comment “Hand jumping in” *snicker, don’t think that’s what you meant to type!!! ;)

Jean September 10, 2014 at 12:47 PM

I am loving it bev! It’s not the same old-same old and he wants to learn about “sex in the modern world” which is making it very, very interesting!

Pia September 10, 2014 at 1:07 PM

Reading Rock Addiction – about 60% in. I pre-ordered this book and my expectations were high. However I am a bit disappointed as it up ’till now is very predictable. I hope for more surprises and something that can speed up my heart beat :)

Maryse September 10, 2014 at 2:10 PM

What what what?? Cheryl!! What’d I write? LOL!!! *scrolls back up to see “hand jumping”*

Maryse September 10, 2014 at 2:11 PM

LOL!!! Stupid auto-correct!! <– yeah! I’m blaming it!

Amy September 10, 2014 at 2:44 PM

Hand jumping in??? LOL!!!!!! O.M.G!!! So we have Fabi with a one-clicker and now hand jumping?!?!?

I had to delete what I originally typed because I swear it would have gotten me banned from here. *snicker* Really…it was that bad. :P

Okay, so you want a good laugh at my expense? Yes? No? Well, you’re getting the story either way ’cause I just had a shot of Jaeger in the middle of the freaking day and need *someone* to laugh about this or I’m gonna cry again. My close friend who has her own salon is on vacation and can’t take care of my Brazilian for another couple of weeks. I’m impatient and, um, picky about my nether regions so I broke out a brand new razor to take care of things. A Brand. New. Razor. I think I almost circumcised myself. I need another shot. It’s either that or a Vicodin. %&#$!!!! This hurts!!! Arrrrrrrgh!!

Maryse, edit or delete as you see fit. ;) Heh, like ya need my permission on your own blog. LOL!! Yep, Jaeger is kicking in. Woo-hoooooo! I’m a lush right now and don’t care and heading off to attempt to read Translucent.

Cheryl September 10, 2014 at 3:01 PM

Amy- no words, just no words… *snicker, snort*

donna tanner September 10, 2014 at 3:02 PM

I am going to be snarky, I finish Unlit Star the other day. It made me feel! Like sh#t!! Never again will I read that kind of book. I wish I knew going in. I sticking with hot ,dirty talkin.bossy guys. I just clicked uncivilized and that sounds like what I want a gorgeous Savage!

Jean September 10, 2014 at 3:06 PM

Ouch Amy…omg! Keep drinking and hopefully the CH from Translucent won’t put you over the edge…. Heehee! Remember, I am the sweet one here!

bev September 10, 2014 at 3:07 PM

Ow. *closes legs and hugs bent knees*

Jean September 10, 2014 at 3:22 PM

Oh bev that seriously made me lol….. sorry Amy!

Amy September 10, 2014 at 4:01 PM

*snort* I would be laughing if it wasn’t me who did this!! You ladies are great. ;)

Yeah, Jean, let’s see how sweet I find you at the end of Translucent and after a couple more shots! You’re safe for now… :P

Michelle S September 10, 2014 at 5:09 PM

I can’t wait to get started on wild jungle man love (aka Uncivilized). I don’t think he just wants to “kzzzz beh” either, Maryse! Based on the cover, he wants to hold her down by the neck and “assume the position”, if you know what I mean. He’s been watching too many jungle beasts. So a lesson in missionary will be in there somewhere (that’s ok – had that in Golden Dynasty with Lahn, and in Game of Thrones so I am all for it). So excited. May need your Jaeger, Amy (who will be soaking in epsom salt all night, apparently). :-) fun night for all is ahead…..

Amy September 10, 2014 at 6:05 PM

Are you out of your ever-lovin’ mind, MichelleS? Salt?? Why don’t I just use a hot poker to cauterize the wound? I’ll share my Jaeger with ya though. ;)

Salt? *shaking head and returning to Translucent*

Cheryl September 10, 2014 at 7:11 PM

Epsom salt is not like regular table salt. It’s really good in the bath to ease pain and relieve inflammation. Probably would be enjoyable with Jaeger. ;)

Maryse September 10, 2014 at 7:18 PM

LOL!!!!! Amy… nah I’m totally keeping that on here. I LOVE “TMI” and you always give vivid imagery while keeping it… “innocent”. *snort*

Fabi September 10, 2014 at 7:19 PM

Salt is not so good for open wounds. Omg Amy I think someone’s out to get you.

MichelleS September 10, 2014 at 7:27 PM

EPSOM salt – I said epsom salt – not Morton’s table salt!!! My friend’s dad used it when he had penile cancer and the radiation left him raw, so I am assuming it would help you and your “burning” problem!! Or just have another Jeager, that works too.

Okay Mr. Jungle-Tarzan-Wild Man…. here I come…. (hush Amy)…..

bev September 10, 2014 at 9:10 PM

Just started Rock Addiction. Nalini Singh writing about a librarian and a rock star, so happy to dive in.

Can’t wait to hear what you all think of your Tarzan sounds like you’ll have fun.

MichelleS September 10, 2014 at 9:41 PM

I made it to 34% with “Uncivilized”…. holy hotness you guys…where do I start? The scene when she first meets him and that display? (And I think that poor author needs a new boyfriend if 3 soft inches is freaking her out! anyone else laugh at that?)…. okay back to the story… The “hammock” scene with him close by? When he discovers the internet? Or her toys? Or the “vocabulary” and his favorite words? This is just pure lady-smut but I am loving it. I just KNEW it would be all about that “assume the position” based on THAT cover!!! Oh Lordy. Who else is reading Uncivilized? (fanning myself).

Hey Amy – she’s all nice and “soft” too (Brazlian, I mean).

My only complaint – I wish his “talk” was a bit more wild man (not kzzzz beh luffs, mind you, but a bit more “wild”)

Megan September 10, 2014 at 9:53 PM

I’m also busy with Black Lies, but I must say, I had it figured out pretty early on in the book. Great story though. I just want to tell everyone that I loved Accidently on Purpose, Worthy of Redemption and Worth the Fight (L D Davis). A love triangle that had me riveted from the start! Also, Transcendence, and Surviving Raine and Bastian’s Storm ( Shay Savage) are fantastic. Cried in Transcendence… Had a few reads of this one because I didn’t want it to end :(

Megan September 10, 2014 at 10:03 PM

Oh yes! Another “weepy” is Playing in the Rain (Jane Harvey-Berrick). This one had me teary-eyed – and I’m not easily affected by a book! HAVE to mention Jodie Ellen Malpas’s new series: One Night (Promised)! Ughh… I cannot wait for the second one out soon. If you loved the This Man trilogy (who didn’t, honestly?), then you have to download this one and get reading quickly! :) :) :)

Amy September 10, 2014 at 10:22 PM

Maryse, do you have any idea how difficult it was for me to keep my comment innocent? *snort* Of course you do. ;)

*Epsom* salt, not Morton’s salt…I missed that part (looks like Fabi did, too!). I saw salt and all I could think was “holy freaking $%#&!!” I’ll be picking some of that up tomorrow. Man, though…penile cancer or my sliced up hoo-ha…um, yeah, no more complaining from me. :?

Okay, I *so* want to read Uncivilized now!! Are you serious? She freaked over three soft inches??? That’s just sad. *shaking head* At least she is probably “fully” soft though, which is better than me. I was only halfway done when I, um, had a slip of the hand, and now I am only soft on one side. Freaking sexy, I’m telling ya. :P

julie o September 10, 2014 at 10:24 PM

I really enjoyed the Needing Moore series. I think I liked it bc it was about a little older couple that found each other again. Give it a chance, think you will enjoy.

Amy September 10, 2014 at 10:26 PM

Megan, the Accidentally on Purpose series is one of my favorites! The angst…oh my… I still have to read Donya’s book, but I’m sure it will be just as good as the others. :)

Fabi September 11, 2014 at 6:21 AM

Morton, Epsom, “salt”. If it has the word salt I am not immersing an open wound in it. I’ve heard Epsom is good for muscles, rashes, etc. But have never heard of using it on a cut. And Amy, stick with wax. :-) bristles are not sexy hahaha If I can’t get to the salon I’ll use those home wax strips which hurt and don’t work as well but I’m also impatient if I can’t get to the salon in time.

What? If you ladies know I am not attracted to men’s hairy legs, you didn’t think I’d leave hair on my own body did you?

I downloaded Uncivilized last night but haven’t started it. I’m really looking forward to it. I hope it’s funny as well as smutty. :-)

Fabi September 11, 2014 at 7:26 AM

MichelleS you’re a big fan of Mercy Thompson right? This came out last week:
Shifting Shadows: Stories from the World of Mercy Thompson
by Patricia Briggs

Tessa September 11, 2014 at 9:53 AM

Oh, I got that one, but have yet to read any. It’s a lot of short stories, many I already have. I figure I’ll read a little whenever in the mood.

Sara S September 11, 2014 at 11:50 AM

Hey Amy, just wanted to say that while I’ve never sliced up my girly bits with a razor (ouch!) I did have three babies via said bits that lead to stitches and Epsom salt baths helped tremendously. Hope you are feeling better soon!

Amy September 11, 2014 at 4:58 PM

Thank you, Sara! You really can commiserate, huh? I picked up some Epsom salt today…a biiiiiig bag of it. ;)

Fabi, I’ll be buying some of those wax strips because I’ve been traumatized enough to never want a razor near there again. *shudder* And doesn’t Uncivilized sound fun from all of the feedback so far?!?

Michelle S September 11, 2014 at 5:47 PM

Poor Amy is going to be a giant margarita tonight – all nice and salty!

Uncivilized is WAY fun in a totally smutty way. The central theme being “the wild man wants to learn how we have sex in the civilized world” and discovering all the delicious ways that can be achieved. Not sure there is any other plot so far! But I’m good with that. He’s bossy and described as super hot looking, so I am giving him lots of leeway. She is an anthropologist, so she chalks everything up to differences in culture and just goes with it, but also resists him because of the ethical dilemma.

I like that the author made her a freckled red-head, because he has never seen a “female” with this coloring. I am worried about how totally low my entertainment bar has fallen that THAT is the kind of crap I like in a book. No pulitzer prize winner, but really fun and hot.

Michelle S September 11, 2014 at 5:58 PM

Oh, and Amy – with that biiiiig bag of epsom salt, you can fertilize your roses too! Double the benefit. After your “bath” dip down for a while and soak your hair. It’s also a volumizer for hair! Triple the benefit. (And it’s not salt, BTW, don’t even know why they call it that.)

I am going to check out that Mercedes Thompson stories book, Fabi. Yes, i do love that series.

I need to read either The Others #2 or Covenant #2 after the Tarzan loving…. haven’t decided which one.

Amy September 11, 2014 at 6:21 PM

*snort* My one finger salutes you, MichelleS.

All with luffs, of course. *mwah* ;)

Oh, and you’re ordering Pure (Covenant 2) next. Just thought I should let you know that. Figured I would return the favor after the salt soak tip for my hair!

Maryse September 11, 2014 at 6:40 PM

LOL Michelle! I’m enjoying it, too.

As long as you “go with” the fact that he speaks perfect english (I can’t detect a hint of an accent), “picks up” on guy-speak (like, “man that’s hot”, or swear words – and properly used), stuff like that and the fact that she was completely safe bringing a “savage” home with her to her apartment to live with her, that’s used to just commanding the woman to “do him”… <— just go with that, and it’s GOOD!! AND STEAMY!!!

Cheryl September 11, 2014 at 7:14 PM

Sounds like a no-brainer, steamy read. Not a bad thing… ;)

bev September 11, 2014 at 8:39 PM

UH-OH. Amy your auto correct is acting up. Its ok I got your back.
Michelle S, Amy meant to say Murder of Crows is your next buy.

Tessa September 11, 2014 at 9:44 PM

I liked Uncivilized. It was a little too sappy towards the end, but it was definitely steamy. :-) I just started Bang Bang and its a spinoff (family member) from the elite eagle series. I read the first one, Elite, through the Pandora box set. After Bang Bang, I’m going to finish the Elite series. The first one was sooooooooo good.

Poor Amy.

Michelle S September 11, 2014 at 10:07 PM

Yes, Maryse, I agree – the fact that is grammar and syntax and vocabulary skills are that high after being in the jungle for most of is life only having that priest occasionally come and bring him books and such is amazing, isn’t it? A little effort to have him talk a bit more “wild man” like would have been nice. It gets distracting when you think that every other page. Still having fun with it though. Only got to 53% (you know, life happens when you’re trying to read). So far my review would be “the cover IS the story”…. that is all….

Amy September 11, 2014 at 10:47 PM

Uh, MichelleS? *cautiously sidling up to MichelleS* I sounded like a bee with an itch earlier…I’m sorry!

*opening arms up for a hug*

Forgive me? *pouty face*

Jean September 12, 2014 at 6:35 AM

Yeah I was hoping for a little more from Uncivilized… I was so excited when I started it….it had such potential. It is one big sexfest! Haha! I am liking it though! Lol! Only at 60%. I totally agree with your comments, Maryse and Michelle!

Maryse September 12, 2014 at 7:55 AM

I’m at 60% too!

Fabi September 12, 2014 at 7:58 AM

I just started it. 5%. But you guys make it sound like fun so I’m looking forward to it.

Michelle S September 12, 2014 at 8:02 AM

Since I was totally trying to take care of your lady-parts by offering my “hints from Heloise” advice, Amy, I thought you were kidding about the one finger salute! I didn’t take it the wrong way at all. But I’ll forgive you anyway. You are never an itchy-bee!!! And the epsom salt for your hair really IS good for it. I swear!!!

Jean September 12, 2014 at 8:51 AM

Fabi, it is fun!

Michelle, Amy may not be an itchy-bee…but sometimes she’s little biatchy!! Lol!

Amy September 12, 2014 at 10:05 AM

*squealing and hugging MichelleS* You forgive me!! I really *was* totally kidding about the one-finger salute, but then I felt bad because I didn’t know if it was obvious I was joking around…then I offer an apology snuggle and it looked like I had been serious before and really was being an “itchy-bee”! Love that term, by the way. Wow, wasn’t I in rare form yesterday? ;)

If you don’t hear from me for a while, it’s because I’m trying to pry my foot out of my mouth.

And Jean…JEAN!! Ooooooooh… *shaking finger at Jean* You knew how I felt about CH’s and guilted me into reading one anyway so *plbtttt* How’s that for biatchy?? :P I have to say though…she had “scorching juices” at one point?!? W.T.F. That is one description that made me bust out laughing and killed the mood, LOL!!!!

Jean September 12, 2014 at 10:36 AM

Blahaha Amy! You know I love you! I was wondering why I hadn’t heard anything about Translucent from you…. figured you didn’t like it or were mad at me for the CH!!! Scorching juices….yeah…I have no words!

So what’s everyone going to read this weekend? Just curious…..

Amy September 12, 2014 at 10:40 AM

Bev, there was almost a murder of crows in front of my house today when I saw the mess they were making out of my neighbor’s garbage and getting it all over my lawn. I’m sure it was pretty entertaining for the neighbors to see me out there freezing in my pajama bottoms and tank top (braless, no less!) and yelling at a bunch of crows while simultaneously throwing trash at them and back into the garbage cans.

*snort* Whatever…the neighbors know how, um, unconventional I am. ;)

Amy September 12, 2014 at 10:59 AM

Aw, Jean…luffs!!!! :D

I started Bright Side yesterday soooooo…yeah, we’ll see what I end up reading after that.

Actually, ya know what? Everyone who read BS cried, and Maryse was almost broken after it, so I’m going to start the Bright Side Challenge and see if I can read it *without* crying! Yeah, I’m feeling goofy today so that sounds like a brilliant idea. :P

Jean September 12, 2014 at 11:02 AM

Oh Amy, your poor neighbors… Haha! No seriously, I wish we were neighbors!

BS huh? I don’t think I can do it….. If you make it through without crying, I will try it! Good luck with that one!

bev September 12, 2014 at 11:22 AM

First Amy you are not an itchy bee. Which is why we all feel comfortable teasing you.
Poor crows, lol. There were two woodpeckers that liked to visit last year that I felt that way about. Murder of Crows is what a flock is sometimes called.
My weekend reading is to finish Rock Addiction, am 60% in. I am really liking it. If in mood for a romance I think it is a good choice. Looking forward to the spin offs.
Then on to My Familiar Stranger, promise Michelle S. Then The Hook Up.

Tessa September 12, 2014 at 11:34 AM

Poor birds! They were just hungry. :-P

Good luck on BS. I couldn’t read a full page at the end without wiping my eyes. Literally couldn’t see through the tears! I’m reading the Eagle Elect series. I’m oddly drawn to male bullies, and Nixon is an a**!

Amy September 12, 2014 at 12:25 PM

*giggle* Can you imagine being neighbors? Our poor husbands would be pulling their hair out! ;)

Poor birds my a$$!! They had a freaking feast out there!!! *snicker* They really are one of my favorite birds.

Michelle S September 12, 2014 at 8:02 PM

FINALLY home from the day from hel$ at work! Argh! So what do I do? Immediately check in with this wonderful crew of gals so I can get my mind off all THAT and relax on a Friday night. Going to finish Uncivilized (I hope)… I didn’t think about it at all at work today. You know what I was thinking about? Amy will love this…. When Seth leans over and gives Alex a little kiss on the forehead at the end of Half Blood… that scene where they are lying in bed next to each other just talking? Yup. I have replayed that stupid little kiss over and over like a love-sick teenager. So this is setting up some love triangle or something? Because I am now rooting for both guys (Aiden and Seth). So I want to hurry and read the next one. Has to be this weekend.

What’s everyone else going to read? Haven’t looked at the new list posted yet. Anything interesting?

Elyzabeth M. VaLey September 13, 2014 at 10:17 AM

Thanks for mentioning Bear Heart! Have a great day, everyone!
