Happy Sunday Surprise Release Day. ;) I’m happy, that’s for freakin’ sure, ’cause these are brand spankin’ new releases that

  1. sound right up our angsty/heartbreaky/sexy romance alley
  2. are from authors that are tried and true
  3. It’s Sunday and they couldn’t have surprised us at a better time. Today is perfect! Thank you, authors!! :D

So take a look at these:

  • Elastic Hearts by Claire Contreras <— It’s a STANDALONE and he’s a famous L.A. lawyer, and she’s divorcing her hugely famous Hollywood star…

“In such a high profile divorce, they can’t afford any extra drama. Luckily, neither one of them has anything to hide. Unless you count the mind blowing sex they had… “

  • She Dims the Stars by Amber L. Johnson <— HER EX-BEST FRIEND (a guy!!) HIS ROOMMATE… and HER ALERT! From the author of one of our favorite books (Puddle Jumping <— my review), she’s just released this one, and it’s super-bargain priced right now!! The blurb sounds so intriguing and pretty much tells me nothing all at the same time. I LOVE it! LOL! The gist? Her entire life has been a lie, and she’s just discovered some secrets that would have been better left, uncovered.
“…she’ll tell you that she has no idea who she is, because her entire life is a lie. However, the older she gets the more she needs answers about who she really is.What she discovers is a tangled web of secrets better left in the dark. Some truths do more harm than good.”
  • Life In Reverse by Beth Michele <— Oooooh this one sounds romance-ANGSTY!!

I was minding my own business when Vance Davenport showed up.He wasn’t talking, yet somehow I heard him.

I wasn’t looking, but my eyes sought him out.

He became something I never expected.

Until it all changed.

Then he became someone I wanted to forget.

  • The Shelter Me Series by Kathy Coopmans <— ENTIRE SERIES BUNDLED at a bargain price! Second Chance Romance… he once broke her heart BADLY!

“With the decision to start over, Luke and Shayne must admit truths and come to terms with the events that forced them apart in the first place. When secrets are revealed and old threats come to pass, will Luke be able to shelter Shayne from the destruction, or will she become lost to him forever?”

  • Like a Love Song by Nikita Singh <— I have NO clue what this new release is about, but there’s something about it that’s calling me…
“…when the past comes knocking on her door, threatening to shatter a life she has carefully rebuilt, her world is turned upside-down…”
  • The Fire Between High & Lo by Brittainy Cherry <— PRE-ORDER IS UP!!!! Another one of our favorite authors will release a book in just a couple of days, and it’s super-bargain priced!!!! Ooooooooh so heartbreakey-sounding!!!

“We were broken together, yet somehow whole. We were wrong together, but always right. We were the stars that burned across the night sky, searching for a wish, praying for better tomorrows. Until the day I lost him. He threw us away with one hasty decision–a decision that changed us forever. There once was a boy, and I loved him. And for a few breaths, a few whispers, a few moments, I think he loved me, too.”

HOLY MOLY!!! There are some potentially crazy-good books up there!! My tummy is doing a happy dance right now. :D

She Dims the Stars (I *have* to know what the secrets are), Life in Reverse (even though it’s dual POV, I think it will still twist my tummy a bit), and The Fire Between High and Lo (sounds like it will pummel my heart!)…they’re ALL MINE!!

Like a Love Song sounds REALLY promising, and I like the cover (not to mention I now have Selena Gomez’s Love You Like a Love Song stuck in my head *snort*), but I’m a little wary after seeing the typos in the blurb. With that higher-than-normal price, I need to be sure *cough* need a guinea pig here *cough* that the story makes up for the typos I’m pretty sure will be in the book itself. :? Wow, don’t I sound like a grammar snob…

Maryse March 20, 2016 at 6:01 PM

All of MINE too, Amy. Oh yes. We have the same book-taste. And make-up taste. And martini taste… :P

Amy March 20, 2016 at 7:41 PM

And food-taste. And desert-taste. And nail polish taste. ;)

I swear, you’re my book twin. And martini twin. And food twin. And…OH!!! Speaking of food!
http://www.delish.com/cooking/recipe-ideas/recipes/a46330/marry-me-chicken-recipe/

I made this for supper this evening and it is DIVINE!!! You have to try it!!

Anne March 20, 2016 at 7:46 PM

All of these sound so good, but Elastic Hearts might be my next read!

Just finished Sheltered by Charlotte Stein and liked it but felt the ending was too rushed. I wish it was longer too. Van was amazing though! Love him!

Maryse March 20, 2016 at 8:09 PM

AMY!! TWINNIES!!! :D

Maryse March 20, 2016 at 8:12 PM

Anne I really loved that one, and Van! I was so scared at that one part… terrified eve.

BUT OMG I found it hot even when they weren’t actually “doing it”. I’ll never forget that one.

Anne March 20, 2016 at 9:06 PM

Maryse I agree! Its one of the most sensual books I’ve ever read! Their chemistry was off the charts! I just wanted a little more you know?

Michelle March 20, 2016 at 9:32 PM

That chicken looks good Amy! I was scrolling through Pinterest and bookmarked these today:

Cait March 21, 2016 at 3:36 AM

We could call Maryse and Amy wait for it….. Marmy!! Lol
This book list is right up my alley I actually don’t know where to start!! Whoop

Cheryl March 21, 2016 at 5:36 AM

Ohhh, I think just about every one on this list caught my attention.

I agree Amy, I noticed the typos and price. Going to read the sample.

Yum, that chicken recipe sounds great.

Michelle March 21, 2016 at 6:20 AM

Morning freebie: Wasted Love by Danielle Jamie.

Amy March 21, 2016 at 11:36 AM

Maryse…OMG I totally thought you said TWINKIES at first, and I was all “wow, another taste in common!!” Now I want Twinkies…BANANA Twinkies!

Michelle…those look so freaking yummy!!! And that cake will give me a mouthgasm, I just know it. Blueberry cheesecake AND cake, together? In one mouthful? YES!!! *snicker* We won’t discuss how I just tied food and sex together with all of that commentary. :P

*snort* Good one, Cait. ;)

Amy March 21, 2016 at 11:41 AM

Cheryl, it IS great and so easy to make. Except…make sure you drain most of the olive oil/fat from the pan and turn the heat down and WAIT for it to cool down before adding the thyme. I didn’t and the thyme exploded once it hit the pan. I ended up with little freaking thyme leaves all over the stovetop, the backsplash, and my arm. And since they popped out of hot oil and stuck to my arm, I now have all these little red burns all over my forearm and it looks like I have bug bites! Good lord, people will probably think I have bed bugs or something. :?

To add to Michelle’s freebie…The Wrath and the Dawn is on sale for 2.99!!! I was waiting for it to come down in price, so YAY US! :D

Ela March 21, 2016 at 12:08 PM
Amy March 21, 2016 at 1:01 PM

Thank you, Ela!!! I’m excited to read this series! :D

Tessa March 21, 2016 at 2:36 PM

*goes to look up Crown and Wrath*

I had to buy the second book to Eversea. I’m 41% into Eversea and my heart is gonna hurt! YEAH!

Ela March 21, 2016 at 2:46 PM

Reading Forever, Jack and sadly it’s just meh…probably because I read the first book some years ago???

Fabi March 21, 2016 at 4:16 PM

I thought Finley by Ella Frank was coming out tomorrow, but I just noticed it was available yesterday on Amazon. *grabby grabby hands*

Y’all DO remember the Temptation series right? Right?

Maryse March 21, 2016 at 4:43 PM

Mary wants twinkles!!

Maryse March 21, 2016 at 4:44 PM

NO NO NO STUPID AUTOCORRECT!!! ROAR!

Marmy wants twinKIES *marmy = Maryse & Amy) :P

And I totally DO want twinkles. And the Hostess cupcakes. I’m a sucker for both of those nasty things. Yummy!

Maryse March 21, 2016 at 4:44 PM

*sigh*

I quit. :?

TWINKIES… TWINKIES autocorrect!!!

Although I do like twinkles too. Maybe my autocorrect knows me TOO well… ;)

Cait March 21, 2016 at 4:50 PM

What the hell are twinkies?? Banana ones sounds terrible!

Fabi March 21, 2016 at 4:50 PM

lol Maryse. There are days when autocorrect simply defeats us. I feel your pain.

Fabi March 21, 2016 at 4:52 PM

Cait, they are snacks made by a US company that went out of business due to making everyone fat. ;-)

Cait March 21, 2016 at 4:53 PM

Oh it’s always the way the nice are the worst things!!

Maryse March 21, 2016 at 5:06 PM

Cait… all about Twinkies: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Twinkie ;)

YUMMY

Maryse March 21, 2016 at 5:06 PM

LOL Fabi!!!! :P

Amy March 21, 2016 at 5:09 PM

*SNORRRRRRRRRT!!* <— Yes, that was one of those snorts that hurt because it was so forceful.

Autocorrect is p!ssed at Marmy today 'cause mine was trying to change my words too, LOL!!!! Ohhhhh, I love Hostess cupcakes! Did you know they have red velvet cupcakes? Not as good as the original chocolate but still super yummy. And Zingers…YUM!!!

Cait, these are Twinkies… http://www.adweek.com/files/imagecache/node-detail/news_article/twinkies-hed-2013.jpg
And the banana ones are sooooooo good…if you like banana, that is. ;)

Fabi March 21, 2016 at 5:15 PM

My daughter eats those red velvet ones. I’m with you Amy, the original chocolate ones are better.

Amy March 21, 2016 at 5:20 PM

Yeah, the link Maryse gave you was better… :P

Fabi…I’m so slow today that I started thinking, “is that why they went out of business?” And of course had to go look it up. Fabi gets the award for bringing out my gullibility!!!! :D

Maryse March 21, 2016 at 5:34 PM

I bought the strawberry hostess cupcakes, and while I enjoyed ‘em (I mean… come on… sugar, flour, pink! :P YUMMY! ) I, too, prefer the original chocolate ones.

Amy March 21, 2016 at 5:44 PM

Strawberry!! Lovvvvvvvvve strawberry. Did you ever see the chocolate-covered strawberry cupcakes they had around Valentine’s Day? But don’t ask me how long ago ’cause I couldn’t even say. Strawberry cake with the traditional chocolate frosting.

Oh yeah, the whole “limited time” and “limited edition” in ANYTHING puts me in a frenzy every time…just like marketing departments are hoping it will. :P

Maryse March 21, 2016 at 5:50 PM

Well that just sounds like my ULTIMATE cake!!!!! And no… I wasn’t lucky enough to find those when they were out. GAH. Probably a good thing. ;)

Tessa March 21, 2016 at 6:11 PM

Grr I hate limited edition only because if I like it, I can’t buy more. This past Christmas, they had Christmas tic-tacs. Red cherry and green apple. It was the perfect package. *sighs* Only at Christmas though.

Twinkies though, yum! I love cupcakes more. That weird frosting and the yummy cream inside the cake. I’m glad some other company bought Hostess. Who here was worried about the apocalypse due to the lack of Twinkies?

Amy March 21, 2016 at 6:27 PM

Woody Harrelson in Zombieland!!!!!! LOL!!!!

Amy March 21, 2016 at 6:31 PM
Maryse March 21, 2016 at 6:33 PM

Twinkies are forever!!! :D

Amy March 21, 2016 at 7:55 PM

LOL!!! :P

Celeste March 21, 2016 at 9:07 PM

She Dims the Stars was perfect. With this, the second book of hers I’ve read, Amber Johnson’s gone on my list of ‘Read Everything She Ever Writes’ list.

You know how when the heroine’s had a rough life and you find yourself not commiserating with her, but wanting to slap her because the telling if it is just so heavy handed and ‘wow is me?’ Well, it’s so not present in this book, and I loved it. My thoughts are still so disjointed because I just finished it, but I had to come tell you it’s a definite must read. You will not be disappointed.

Celeste March 21, 2016 at 9:08 PM

*woe is me

Cheryl March 21, 2016 at 9:47 PM

Fabi that was great, so true! But man now I’m craving a cupcake.

I’ve been immersed in the calendar girl series. It started off a little meh, but then it got so much better. Have to say some of the “situations” are somewhat far-fetched but it’s still entertaining. Can’t wait to see how it ends!! ;)

DG March 22, 2016 at 12:26 AM

Ding dongs, Ho Ho’s, and Twinkies Oh My! *singing to tune of lion, tigers and bears oh my while giggling uncontrollably*. All curtesy of Hostess Cakes, ladies!!!!

Amy March 22, 2016 at 1:40 AM

Ding dongs are for Ho Ho’s…’cause a Twinkie just ain’t enough!! *giggles uncontrollably with DG*

*eyes bottle of Jager* Yeahhhhh, I better stop the shots and go to bed now… :P

DG March 22, 2016 at 7:26 AM

Great minds….errr, deviant minds…ummm….Amy, we think too much alike! *sagely nods head at Amy*

Maryse March 22, 2016 at 11:28 AM

I don’t think I’ve ever had a ding dong…?

Fabi March 22, 2016 at 11:32 AM

Maryse! They’re my fav Hostess badness. lol

Amy March 22, 2016 at 12:34 PM

Never had a Ding Dong? BAHAHAHAHA!!!!! You walked into that one!!

*slaps hands over mouth and falls on fainting couch laughing*

Amy March 22, 2016 at 12:35 PM

Okay…*catches breath*…okay…

Seriously though, Hostess Ding Dongs are crazy good…
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ding_Dong

Fabi March 22, 2016 at 12:54 PM

Yes they are! I’ve never had a Ding Dong I didn’t love. Well…except for one that was still wrapped.

Amy March 22, 2016 at 12:56 PM

*chokes on orange slice*

*coughs and snorts*

OMG!!!! Fabi doesn’t like wrapped Ding Dongs, LOL!!!!!!!!
