There are a couple of these that I almost forgot I was wanting, I need the reminder thank you. I have been trying to read over the Christmas break, The Guide of Time by Cinzia de Santis, I love it, I need to buckle down and just finish it!!

Maryse December 26, 2016 at 11:40 AM

YAY!! I’m so thrilled, Julia.

Now I have to look up the one you’re reading. :D

bev December 26, 2016 at 11:55 AM

Finishing up a Christmas novella, then maybe The Snow fang Bride, One Fell Sweep, or In Barren Ground.
Having a hard time making up my mind.

Maryse, have you read Scarlett Stone by Jewel E. Ann yet? That book! I can’t stop thinking about it. It was a jaw dropping, angsty tear jerky book. Everything we love!! You gotta read it, it had major feels.

Just read Tell Me Three Things by Julie Buxbaum. It was NA I guess. MC is 16. It was really good. Didn’t really feel like high school.

Can we gush about Bad Mommy? I don’t usually write reviews on Amazon/Goodreads (there’s a reason I read books and not write them!) but I had to for this one. I won’t repeat it here lol but I will say this… A fascinating, intoxicating read. Brave and honest.

And I loved playing detective – little comments from the book I remember from Facebook/Instagram etc. WOWZERS.

Just finished CD Reiss’s Shuttergirl and it was a page-turner. Really smart writing, good storyline, and satisfying characters. A Paparazzi Photographer/Movie Star, second-time romance, set in LA. Lots of Hollywood twists and turns through both the superficial and gritty sides of the city, that take it back and forth from passionate reconnection to the sadness of impossible circumstances. Definitely recommend it!

All The Ugly and Wonderful Things price dropped to 2.99!!

Jen C December 27, 2016 at 3:17 AM

Beard Science by Penny Reid has dropped to $1.99 too (normally $5.99 and book one in that series, Truth or Beard, is free at the moment!).

Oh more! The Problem with Forever by Jennifer L. Armentrout has dropped to $2.99 (was $7.99) and A Thousand Boy Kisses by Tillie Cole has dropped to $1.99 (was $2.99).

I’m finally reading Dark Matter and just kicking myself for having waited so long to get to it. @10% I have no doubt it’ll be my December favorite.

Tasha J December 27, 2016 at 9:24 AM

Just got The Bird and the Sword for $1.99!! And Empire of Storms for $3.99!! :)

Amy December 27, 2016 at 10:49 AM

I am absolutely relishing Bad Mommy. RELISHING!!!!! I love being in the heads of TF’s characters while they are becoming (or already are) unhinged.

TF is one of those authors I want to hug just for the simple fact that they chose to write in this life. ;)

Amy December 27, 2016 at 10:54 AM

OH!!! A Torch Against the Night by Sabaa Tahir is 2.99!!

I read the first one and it was GREAT! Another spot-on rec from bev. ;)

Ela December 27, 2016 at 11:37 AM

I really want to read The Bird and the Sword all over again! I absolutely LOVED that book! It’s so different and I LOVE DIFFERENT

Nay December 27, 2016 at 9:08 PM

I keep seeing y’all mention The Bird and the Sword all over the place, so I finally looked it up. I had marked it on GR but had completely forgotten what it was about. Wow! It sounds awesome! So do the S. Tahir books.

I just wish there were more books like this that weren’t YA. I can read a YA book and enjoy it, and maybe even love it every once in a while, but I just prefer older characters. I’m even ok with 19-21. Do y’all know of any good fantasy romance books like these that have older main characters? Or better yet, would either of these be considered new adult??

Nay December 27, 2016 at 9:11 PM

Fabi–I’m trying to decide if Dark Matter or Wolfsong is going to be my February challenge book. IF I can wait that long to read either one of them!

Fabi December 27, 2016 at 9:59 PM

lol Nay, they’re kinda different.

btw, I just finished listening to The Bird and the Sword. The h is 20 y.o. and the H several years older. I wouldn’t call it YA. But it doesn’t have any graphic sex scenes so it could be read by a younger audience. It’s really a beautiful fantasy romance, although, I can’t really recommend the narration.

Maryse December 30, 2016 at 2:52 PM

I haven’t yet, Robyn (I did just finish Only Trick) and I want to read this new one BAD!!! Thank you for the feedback on it!!! :D

Amy December 30, 2016 at 3:50 PM

Yep…Bad Mommy, Thoughtless, FSoG, EIT, and (I believe) Mud Vein all take place in Seattle. So does Marrow, and it evens takes place in Lacey where I frequently have to go. :D

I had to work out of Seattle yesterday which was what brought on all the thoughts of having y’all there with me. ;)
