Nikki is looking for help with a book title. She gave me a bit of the synopsis and wants to know if anyone knows what book she’s talking about. Unfortunately, I don’t know which one this is, but it does sound interesting!
I remember reading a preview for an upcoming book, in the back of another book I was reading and I don’t remember either book. All I can remember is that it was told from the perspective of the character who was waking up from some kind of accident and she (pretty sure it was a girl) didn’t know who the people were and she was convinced that they had the wrong person. And that is all I can remember. Any ideas??? Thanks for any help you can give!!
Anyone….? 😉
UPDATE: Nikki just got back to us and you guys found it!!! She said:
Thank you so much for the help!! It has been driving me crazy trying to find that book. I tried finding it in the back of every book that I’ve read in the past couple months and I couldn’t find a thing!! It is definitely WIDE AWAKE by Shelly Crane! Now I just have to wait for it to come out!!
Here were the other suggestions from the commenters below and a few on Facebook (and they all sound right!)
- Second Rate Chances by Holly Stephens (thanks Jessica on FB!)
- WIDE AWAKE by Shelly Crane
- Wait For Me by Elisabeth Naughton
- Blank Slate by Heather Justesen
- After You’d Gone by Maggie O’Farrell (thanks Elizabeth on FB!!)
- Remember Me? by Sophia Kinsella (thanks for this one too, Elizabeth!!)
- Mirror Image by Sandra Brown
- If I Stay by Gayle Forman
- All the Broken Pieces by Cindi Madsen
sounds like wide awake by shelly crane but it hasn’t come out yet. supposed to some time this month
Thanks Allison!! That might be it! Maybe she saw the synopsis somewhere and wanted to read it and now I do, too. LOL!
Would it be Wide Awake by Shelly Crane?
A girl.
A coma.
A life she can’t remember.
When Emma Walker wakes up in the hospital with no knowledge of how she got there, she learns that she’s been in a coma for six months. Strangers show up and claim to be her parents, but she can’t remember them. She can’t remember anyone. Not her friends, not even her boyfriend. Even though she can’t remember, everyone wants her to just pick up where she left off, but what she learns about the ‘old her’ makes her start to wish she’d never woken up. Her boyfriend breaks up with the new girl he’s dating to be with her, her parents want her to start planning for college, her friends want their leader back, and her physical therapist with the hazel eyes keeps his distance to save his position at the hospital.
Will she ever feel like she recognizes the girl in the mirror?
There’s another called *Wait For Me* by Elisabeth Naughton…read it and it’s similiar to that as well …
Good luck finding it 🙂
Could it be Wait For Me by Elisabeth Naughton? Kate thought she was in a coma for 18 months but finds she was really in one for much longer.
Tell your reader it migh be called Blank Slate by Heather Justeen. In this book its a bus accident and she strongly resembles her seatmate.
Thanks Sherry and Barb!! That one sounds very much like it… 🙂
There was an old historical years ago (forgot the name) with a preview at the back for a book called Water’s Edge. A girl had an accident and woke up in the past…like way way past as the wife of some big Alpha male who had just been caught cheating on him and they think she’s her.
unfortunately this book was never actually written- which sucks cause the preview was awesome
Could it be “Don’t Forget to Remember Me”?
Hi!! Either these two come to my mind: “After You’d Gone” by Maggie O’Farrell or “Remember Me” by Sophie Kinsella
Totally sounds like Wait for Me by Elisabeth Naughton. I read it and loved it and it was free when I read it.
Thanks Scamp! That one sounds good… too bad though. 🙁
Nancy – who wrote it?
Mirror Image by Sandra Brown. This was a GREAT book, could be it
Could it be If I Stay by Gayler Forman? I just finished that one last week and it kind of sounds the same.
I meant Gayle Forman
Dawn, in If I Stay, she remembered who she was though. Great book but do not think it would be what this reader is speaking about.
“Wait For Me* by Elisabeth Naughton
I vote for Wait for me by Elisabeth Naughton! 😉 came across it when it was free and I really liked it
I also say Wait for Me.
I just started reading Unremembered by Jessica Brody. She is in a plane wreck and the sole survivor. She can’t remember anything. So far it is a good book. Good luck, I hate having elusive books on the brain!
Could it be Airhead by Meg Cabot?
Yay it is definitely Wide Awake by Shelly Crane!! Thank you guys so much, now I can wait patiently for it to come out!!
I have read Remember me. Its pretty good..
