in Reading Order Guide:

OMG I have just started this one, and I am LOVING it. But of course! This is one of my favorite authors ever, so I knew this story would take me away. BUT!!! I was mistaken in my impression of the blurb, and then a gasp-worthy unexpected twist was revealed that had my jaw (and my stomach) drop!! I LOVE that.

I can’t wait to get back to it, but first, I thought, maybe some of you would like to buddy-read it with me? It has TONS of great reviews, and those who read it are calling it a 2017 TOP favorite, and I want to read one of those!! :D

I mean… how can we resist, considering THIS recommendation? ;)

Bianca: It’s been 7 days!! 7 days of reading sample after sample, 7 days of hoping to find a book to get me out of my funk!! And then The Darkest Sunrise magically appears on my kindle after having preordered it last week. OH MY GOD!!! I actually can’t put into words how much I loved this book! You must read it! I love Porter, I love Charlotte, I just love everything about this book!! Please please read it!! I’m going to go crazy until July 27!!

Jean: Really want to read The Darkest Sunrise! I love Aly Martinez!

About book #1:

Sticks and stones will break my bones, but words will never harm me.
Whoever coined that phrase is a bald-faced liar. Words are often the sharpest weapon of all, triggering some of the most powerful emotions a human can experience.
“You’re pregnant.”
“It’s a boy.”
“Your son needs a heart transplant.”
Sticks and stones will break my bones, but words will never harm me.
Lies.
Syllables and letters may not be tangible, but they can still destroy your entire life faster than a bullet from a gun.
Two words—that was all it took to extinguish the sun from my sky.
“He’s gone.”
For ten years, the darkness consumed me.
In the end, it was four deep, gravelly words that gave me hope of another sunrise.
“Hi. I’m Porter Reese.”

Me too! Waiting for book two. In the meantime….I’m still thinking about “The Idea of You” by Robinne Lee. One of her tweets stated that she was “thinking about a sequel”. What’s to think about?! Just do it – LOL

Maryse July 17, 2017 at 10:16 PM

LOL Northernstar. That is next on my list!!! :D
