This whole series is highly recommended by Jennifer:
Jennifer: Has anyone else read The Progress Series by Amy Queau? I am in desperate need of someone to talk with about this series (I read an ARC of #3 …). It was just so amazing.
Kathy: I loved these. I can’t wait for the third book!
Jennifer: The third book in my opinion was the best of the three. I grew closer to the characters and then at the end I had an emotional break down because I couldn’t remain detached anymore. This was such a hidden gem of a series, wish more people knew about it though I am trying my hardest to spread the love. It was nice how true to real people they were, that is the nice thing about characters that aren’t perfect in my opinion, they just become more human and like someone you would run into on the street.
Stephanie: I bought book one and two, but I was waiting for third book to read series in its entirety. I know that Maryse has bought the first two books because she bought them at the same time that I did when they were on sale. But, I don’t think that she’s read them yet.
Maryse’s Book Blog: oh yeah!!! I did buy these but I don’t recognize the covers… and no I haven’t read ’em yet, but sure enough, when I went to Amazon, I already own them…
Jennifer: … book 3 … I am visiting my mom and she looked over at me and started freaking out because she couldn’t understand why I was crying. I hardly ever cry when it comes to books, get stressed and anxious yes, but hardly cry. Needless to say the author has been having to deal with me the past few days, lol.
Whoa. Kind of sounds awesome and I’m wondering about what happened in book three that made her react so intensely!
OH YESSSS!!! Okay these are brand new covers but I finally recognized this book by the synopsis (and I still had the old cover so I posted it in the blurb section in case some of you wanted to recognize it, too). I remember book #1 really intrigued me after reading the synopsis and made it on a past bargain post from quite awhile ago.
After Jennifer’s reaction, I think could very well be what I’m looking for in a series read!. And!! Book #3 – the final book, has just been released early!! It’s complete!
About book #1:
He is exactly what she needs. But how far into his mind is she willing to go?
Jesse has a curious attraction to Charlene, a hostess at the restaurant where he works. Outwardly he’s rude, awkward and unapproachable. But his sudden bursts of charm are inescapable. A devastating childhood filled with physical and emotional abuse have left him complex and frigid.
Charlene, an innocent, is quickly mystified. Her craving for him generates an infatuation and a purpose. Losing weight and gaining confidence, she begins taking more risks. She defies her past, damaged and tender, in order to move ahead.
“Progress” is a realistic tale of two friends who both have similar issues that make them hesitant to get close to anyone. Jesse’s demons have manifested into an emotional detachment, and Charlene’s, a physical one. If nobody makes the first move then nobody gets hurt.
Is love is just an obsession when there’s nowhere left to run? Their journeys take them down parallel paths which leave them just as emotionally unmatched and conflicted as the day they met.
Everyone needs to check out this week’s Entertainment Weekly!!!!! 1st pics of Christian & Ana on the cover!!!!
I didn’t recognize the new covers either, and I also purchased the first two books a while ago based on recommendations through here! I’m thinking I am going to start these tonight even though Jennifer scares me with her crying from the 3rd book…..I love that all 3 are out now! Finished A Little Too Much today so ready for something new!
P.S. Maryse, is there a way to get the new covers after purchasing them so long ago? I like the new covers better!! haha!
Hi Jean! I do too!!
I think in your “Manage your Kindle” section on Amazon.com, they have an “update” section where you can get all of the new updates (including the covers). I’ll see if I can do it. 🙂
Thanks! You are the best!
Wow….I just read Progress in one day! Could not put it down! So happy the next two books are out already! Why did I wait so long to read this…..I don’t know!
