Another “Fifty Shades” genre that has been brought to my attention!
Rubi: I just finish reading forty shades of pearl trilogy. It was a really beautiful love story which held my attention . I could not put this book down!
Jodi: Maryse I have a book for you to squeeeee over! Just finished 40 Shades of Pearl and I loved it. I thought it was a 50 Shades wannabe but no the stories are different. It is a trilogy, the 2nd book just came out. Book number 2 is really good too. You should check them out.
Cherise: I have a book suggestion that I haven’t seen mentioned yet. It’s called 40 Shades of Pearl by Arianne Richmonde. It’s available on e-readers but not sure if it’s in print yet. It’s a good steamy read with the alpha male thing & he’s younger than the heroine.
About book #1:
Documentary producer, Pearl Robinson, is a beautiful and smart forty year-old divorcee but has not had a date for over two years. When she hears about Alexandre Chevalier, a young French, Internet success story, she assumes he is a nerd. But when she bumps into him face to face, she’s stunned by his charm, beauty and sophistication, and startled by her strong feelings and desire for a man fifteen years her junior. His looks, wealth and worldwide triumph with his social media site, HookedUp, means he can get any woman he chooses, but there is something about Pearl he finds irresistible…
The couple begins a passionate affair and Pearl’s body is awakened in ways she never imagined possible. She is consumed by him and his magical touch. But secrets, jealous family members and other external forces are threatening to pull them apart.
- Forty Shades of Pearl (The Pearl Trilogy, Part 1)
- Shadows of Pearl (The Pearl Trilogy, Part 2)
- Shimmers of Pearl (The Pearl Trilogy, Part 3)
- The Pearl Trilogy (The Pearl Series) <— first three books (above) BUNDLED
- Pearl (The Pearl Series #4) <— the flip side of the tale. The story according to Alexandre Chevalier.
- Belle Pearl (The Pearl Series #5) (from Alexandre’s point of view and takes the reader BEYOND Shimmers of Pearl and has a different ending) – this is the conclusion to the series.
I came across 40 Shades of Pearl after reading 50 Shades of Grey. Being in my 40 I really appreciated a love story where the ages were reversed. Arianne Richmonde is a wonderful storyteller and writer. If you haven’t read it yet its a must. She also wrote a story story Glass.
Saw this series rec’d on this site (where I’ve found some great new reads), and was so excited that I downloaded and started the first Pearl last night. While I finished it within a day, it was lacking in what I find to be essential in my favorite reads- character development- whether it be angst-y or just having the characters having a clear personality that learns and changes during the course of the story. Just started the second book to see if the author had learned and evolved. Unfortunately, its just seems like the author either just cut and pasted scenes from other books or everything written is just so unoriginal. I hate to say this, but the series may be an can’t finish….
I love this series! I love the journey that Arianne has taken us on with Pearl being more mature. LOVED, LOVED, LOVED this series. Must read!!!!
I have to agree with Shanna. I was so excited to hear about this series and was craving something with a “fifty shades” feel to it. This could fall in that category, but I have been somewhat dissapointed so far and as Shanna said… it’s lacking. I finished the 1st book and am almost midway into the 2nd. I am mostly frustrated with the lead lady, Pearl. I have little respect for her. She comes across as fake, lacking in self worth and I hate that she has lied so many times. UGHHH!!! But I do love Alexandre and boy is this man a lover!! Great steamy sex scenes and he has this keen understanding of what a woman wants and needs in bed. Ooo la la!! At this point, I feel compelled to finish this series since I am so vested at this point. We shall see.
Love the Pearl Trilogy and just finished Pearl,, Alexandre’s POV part one and cannot wait for part 2 to find out if he *spoiler*… since its from his point of view, we don’t have these answers in the trilogy so please get Alexandre’s part 2 book on Amazon so I can preorder and have it the day it comes out.. I cannot wait.. awesome,,,,,, read another book by someone else that was from the mans point of view and it was almost identical but not the Pearl trilogy ‘s Pearl books from his Pov its great to read what we all want to know, what was going through his head…. a must have to complete the story….
I enjoyed Shades of Pearl, the 1st book a lot. I am looking forward to reading the 2nd book. Alexandre is sexy and hot, and I liked Pearl despite her insecurities. I could identify with them. I enjoyed your review.
