Christine Warren – The Others Series Reading Order

in Christine Warren,Reading Order Guide:

LATEST UPDATE: June 24th 2011 –>BIG NOTE on this reading order list. As per the author, this is the TRUE order of her books, (including her e-books) for the series “The Others”. It appears some of her stories had/have different publishers, (and were titled differently in past releases). While they can each be read as stand alone books, this guide lists the books in the order in which they should be read (regardless of publication date).

As per the author’s note for her readers (as found in “Black Magic Woman“)

“… let me try to clear things up now by telling you what the proper order of the Novels of the Others should be, in terms of chronological order of the events in the books:”

So without further ado, here it is:

  1. One Bite With A Stranger (used to be called “Fantasy Fix” in a past release)
  2. Big Bad Wolf (The Others) (used to be called “Fur Factor” in a past release)
  3. Prince Charming Doesn’t Live Here (The Others) (used to be called Faer Fetched - Danice and Mac’s novella – now reworked into this newly released longer book)
  4. Black Magic Woman (The Others) (Daphanie’s book – Danice’s sister)
  5. Not Your Ordinary Faerie Tale (The Others) (used to be called “Fighting Faer” – Corinne and Luc’s e-book in a past release) -  expected release date November 1st 2011
  6. On the Prowl (expected release date – April 24th 2012)
  7. Fur For All (Tess and Rafe’s e-book will be re-released from St. Martin’s Press, date TBD)
  8. Fur Play (Logan (Graham’s former beta) and Honor’s e-book at Ellora’s Cave)
  9. Wolf at the Door
  10. She’s No Faerie Princess
  11. The Demon You Know
  12. Any Witch Way She Can (in No Rest for the Witches the anthology ) – this is a short story that fits here, in the series.
  13. Howl at the Moon
  14. Walk on the Wild Side
  15. You’re So Vein
  16. Born To Be Wild (The Others)

NOTE: For those still confused or concerned about this reading order guide, here is an email direct from the author of the series confirming it.

I just read One bite with a stranger, that’s was my first book, and right down I am writing the books list down to get the rest. I love it, I didnt stop until I finished, on one day……….I hope I can find ell the books.
Also your site is awesome……….

Is it me or does Black Magic Woman seem like it could be Tess & Rafe’s story Fur For All redone? After Prince Charming Doesn’t Live Here I’m pretty sure its possible.

Also, I have to say your site is great. Thanks for the correct reading list. I really hate when I read books out of sequence, it doesn’t feel right. I found that Christine Warren’s book order is the most confusing. Your site really helped me.

So thanks

So book 15 can really be read as book 3?

Maryse February 14, 2011 at 10:47 PM

Hi Catrina! Yup book#15 was originally her book# 3.

Back when she wrote it, it was published by another company (I don’t believe it is still available under the original version) and that is why it has just recently been re-released under the new title by her new publisher (and that is why it is now at the “bottom” of the list in terms of publishing dates).

But for “reading order” in terms of how she originally wrote all of the stories, it was her 3rd story in this series.

I hope that helps!

I hate reading books out of sequence too Chrystal, that is why I have found this website so helpful because I was having the hardest time finding the order before now. There are tell-tell signs of the order in the books (you have to REALLY LOOK for them though), but it was still hard, so thanks a lot!!!

God i can get enough of Christine Warren’s books, i can’t wait to read “Black Magic Women”!!!!!

i finally found out how the publishing of the others series is working out. the tbd books from the beginning of the series she is working on. but she is doing a new book then an old book rewrite formation. black magic woman was a new book and the next one is one of the the rewrites of fighting faer i think. Not Your Ordinary Faerie comes out in nov. i have already seen it being advertized on amazon. which is so cool consider i hate reading things out of order too and really wish i could have all of the early books before i had read all the others. . sometimes i just so hate waiting ::laughing;: i can’t wait to see how the next book of BDB is going to be too. and her last one just came out last month.

I really like this series. I am doing a re-read on the books this time trying to read them in order on what I have. Big Bad Wolf is one of my favorites.

I do recommend this author.

Happy reading everyone.

I am still lost. For example the ebook on Danica sotry was 34 pages and then today I find that there is a full novel. Is there a way to get an update reading order that includes the old and the new and which books are replacing the old.

Thanks.

Maryse October 3, 2011 at 8:18 AM

Hi Book Girl!

I received an email confirmation from the author herself that the list is exactly as it should be. In regards to your Danica question, Christine Warren answered:

“The reason why Faer Fetched went from 34 pages to a full novel is because St Martin’s Press wasn’t interested in publishing a short story; they wanted a novel. So when I rewrote it, it became novel length. It doens’t change the order of the chronology, and you have the correct titles old and new in the list you wrote.”
