What a UNIQUE sounding series and our fellow readers are LOVING it! Each book is written as a standalone and is a sort of… modern “re-make” on some of our favorite fairytales. Just LOOK at this book love!! How can I possibly resist?! BOTH books that are already out, sound like exactly what I love to read… and my fellow readers are SO into ’em.
Julie: I loved Vixen and the Vet.
Carrie: The Vixen and the Vet is one of my faves!!!
bev: I’m only 20% but .know I will finish today. The hero has been a hermit after being injured and shunned by the town only really interacting with his house keeper Mrs. Potts but agrees to let the heroine do a human interest piece on him . So far I really like both of them and am finding the story to be sweet, and flirty, and moving to.
Nancy: Just recently finished reading THE VIXEN AND THE VET by Kate Regnery & anyone who knows me that I love those recluse men stories. This was a beauty & the beast type story… I loved this book when I read it & hubby heard me talk so much with my fellow book buddies, that he decided he would read it & after he read it, said he wanted to make a donation to Operation Mend.
Unity: The Vixen and the Vet by Katy Regnery is a perfect fit for this list. He’s a disfigured war vet who’s shut himself in his house and she’s a down on her luck journalist who needs him to give her a story…
Jillian: All right – I’m trying on Vixen and the Vet! I love me a good hermit! In books anyway, lol! Fingers crossed!
Jean: I immediately 1-clicked Never Let You Go because I LOVED The Vixen and the Vet!
Cheryl: OMG started reading Never Let You Go and loving it. So heartbreakingly sad and sweet. Holden and Griselda *sigh* my heart hurts right now.
Shirley: At 25% of Never Let You Go and it is so good!!! Cant put it down and according to the reviews, the 2nd half of the book is very Angsty! Will be a late night for me!
Lauren: Never Let You Go by Katy Regnery…..best book I’ve read in a really long time. Her last book, The Vixen & the Vet, was great but this one was INCREDIBLE!!!!!
Cheryl: I finished reading Never Let You Go and I. LOVED. IT!! Like I said before it was heartbreakingly sad what Holden and Griselda endured and the angst, ugh several crying moments for me. The only gripe I have is that there was a certain cliched “incident” that I was like oh come on does that always have to happen when it looks like someone may have a chance to get together?! But, it was explained and not dragged out. Hope that is not too spoilerish. The story definitely gave me that “feel” when I’m reading a really good story that is well-written. Now I need to decide what to follow that up with.
About book #1:
In this modern-retelling of “Beauty and the Beast,” Savannah Carmichael, betrayed by an unreliable source, returns to her hometown of Danvers, Virginia with her once-promising journalism career in ruins. Given the opportunity to get back in the game by writing a patriotic human interest piece, Savannah turns her attention to the town hermit, Asher Lee, a wounded veteran who returned to Danvers eight years ago, and hasn’t been seen since.
After an IED explosion in Afghanistan took Asher’s hand and disfigured half of his face, he’s lived a quiet life on the outskirts of Danvers where the locals respect his privacy…that is, until Savannah Carmichael comes calling in a borrowed sundress with a plate of homemade brownies. When Asher agrees to be interviewed by Savannah, he starts feeling things for the beautiful reporter that he hasn’t felt in years.
Misfits in small-town Danvers, Savannah and Asher create a bond right away, touching each other’s hearts in ways neither thought possible. When a terrible mistake threatens to drive them apart, they’ll have to decide if the love they found in one another’s arms is strong enough to fight for their hard-won happily ever after.

This is a really a nice post & I can’t say enough about Katy’s writing. If I’m going to review one of her books, then I take careful notes, but I highlight so much, because she has a way with words that I might as well highlight the entire book.
