Kelley Armstrong – Otherworld Series Reading Order:

in Reading Order Guide:

As per the author’s website for book #1:

Elena Michaels is the world’s only female werewolf. And she’s tired of it. Tired of a life spent hiding and protecting, a life where her most important job is hunting down rogue werewolves. Tired of a world that not only accepts the worst in her— her temper, her violence—but requires it. Worst of all, she realizes she’s growing content with that life, with being that person.

So she left the Pack and returned to Toronto where she’s trying to live as a human. When the Pack leader calls asking for her help fighting a sudden uprising, she only agrees because she owes him. Once this is over, she’ll be squared with the Pack and free to live life as a human. Which is what she wants. Really.

This list was created as per the author’s own pdf file that she entitled: “Complete Timeline of Otherworld Stories”. While my original list included only her full length novels in order, this list includes all of her “novella’s and short stories” in the correct order, within the timelife of her full length books. Two “short stories” were omitted from her own PDF Timeline list (“Becoming” and “Paranormal Romance Blues”), but I found their “correct placement” in her Wiki file. So this list below should be exact.

For full effect, I’d read it with all the short stories inbetween ;)

Hello Mayrse,

I love, love, love your site!!! I have found it very help on numerous occasions.

I have a book list compiled of “Must Reads 2011” that I planned on completing but the list seems to be growing…you know how that goes. So, to make me less crazy with anticipation, I’ve decided that if there is a series I have not yet started, I wait for the month the next installment will release and go from there. I hate waiting for the next book to come out to finally reveal the big conclusion (I did that with KMM’s Fever Series and let’s just say, “AHHHHHHHH!!!!” to that).

Any who, I’m currently updating the list and one author on my list of “musts” is Kelley Armstrong and her Otherworld Series. My sister tells me it’s a must. My sister gave me Dime Store Magic (because KA’s books read well on there own), thinking it was the first before she realized there was a whole world of Otherworld books. I found this link on the Kelley Armstrong website:

I guess what I’m rambling to get at is; can I start the series in the order you recommend or for plot and timeline sake; should I read it in the order on her list?? Did you find it was easy to follow regardless?
Thank you so much again! Your site is a HUGE help!!

Hi Janel!

WOW that was a great list. I knew she had a slew of short stories, but couldn’t figure out where to fit them in, between all of her full length novels. YES, if it were me, I’d do it her way (and I’ve since adjusted my list above to reflect her list exactly).

All the short stories, amongst all of the full length novels will make for some real fun, and detailed reading, I’m sure!)

Maryse,

Thank you so much for all the work you put into the correct reading order of books/authors. You are my “go to” source.

Looking at Armstrong’s site I found some “Otherworld” titles not listed in the above series order.
“V Plates” – Blood Lite 3: Aftertaste
“Young Bloods” – The Bitten Word
“Life Sentence” – The New Dead

FYI The short story Zen and the Art of Vampirism has been re-published in Vampires: The Recent Undead Anthology since the anthology it was in originally is pretty much impossible to find.

I just started reading The Otherworld Seres, and Elena is my FAVOURITE person in them, What are the names of all the books about her, or her pack.?
