DARK READ ALERT and I plan on reading it this week!!! I can’t wait, especially since some of our fellow readers right here on the blog LOVED it! And who can resist THAT cover? 😉 Plus, it took Jean right out of her reading funk. NOW THAT is awesome!
Yes it’s a standalone, BUT I just found out there are two more coming, so consider this post: 1.) An intro to the series if you haven’t yet read Ricochet, or 2.) A NEWS update for those of you that loved it, but didn’t know there’d be more. 😀
marina: I love Ricochet. It’s definitely dark but if you like dark reads and can handle some grit, violence, intensity… then go for it! I squirmed a bit through some scenes but I find the book totally captivating. I kind of wish this was a series. Especially so I can see more of that cover model
Cristina: “Ricochet” and talk about doing a 180! Whew that book is not for the light hearted, but with that cover and blurb?! Couldn’t resist! Another one off my TBR list. It was fantastic, but has some graphic violence, so beware if that’s not your thing. Me? I’m more HBO than Lifetime. It had me on the edge of my seat! LOVED IT! Shared it with my hubby and he was impressed!
Jean: I’m in a book funk. Started 3 different books last night and just wasn’t feeling them. Ugh hate that! Came into work today and my friend says she started Ricochet last night and it’s intense and she’s loving it…..so I guess I’ll give that a try???
Ela: I’m on Ricochet now and Holy Molly!
Jean: Omg you guys! Ricochet by Keri Lake! Freaking awesome! Couldn’t put it down last night and picked it right back up this morning! Went into it totally blind and boy am I glad I did! Nothing will get done today until I finish this book!
Fabi: Jean I’ve been staring at that gorgeous cover in my tbr since the book was first released. It may have to be next as soon as I finish Spider Game. I’m going to try not to squirrel, but Ricochet has called my name every time I’ve opened my Kindle.
Fabi: I am at the last 10% of Ricochet and making myself late for work because I can’t put it down. Great rec Jean!
Jean: Oh and for all of you who have read Ricochet….Keri Lake has a couple follow up books to it so looks like it unexpectedly became a series! I’m happy though. Loved, loved, loved Ricochet! The author said they will be standalones.
Pia: I needed to find something different. I started Ricochet by Keri Lane and this is just perfect. I am around 80% and I just LOVE this book. So dark and so much angst – just what I needed. …Jean, I didn’t know that there were follow up books to Ricochet. I need to find these….
Jean: Glad I could share the news about Ricochet! My girlfriend and I are still talking about it days later! You gotta read it Maryse!
The author tells us that even though book #1 is a standalone…:
“I’m not done with this particular world yet. See, as I was writing Ricochet, another storyline was snaking it’s way into my brain—another character, representing the not-so-innocent fraction of the population affected by The Culling sweeps. His story is going to be about betrayal and vengeance, and of course, love (and lust!). The book runs somewhat parallel to Nick’s.”
About book #1:
The only sure way to destroy a man is to take what he cannot live without.
Three years ago, I had everything.
A beautiful wife.
A son.
A reason for living.Until a ruthless task force, assembled under Mayor Michael Culling, with a brutal strategy to make the streets of Detroit ‘safe’, ripped away everything I loved in a deadly hunt called The Culling.
They tried to kill me, too. I wish they had. Now I’m cursed by the memories of that night, and the words I whispered to my dying wife.
A promise—to avenge the wrong and set it right.
I’m no longer Nick Ryder. I’m a masked vigilante. Faceless. Loveless. Fearless. A man with nothing left to lose—one who’s seen the dark and violent truth behind the city’s flawless veneer.
Michael Culling doesn’t know who I am. Or what I want. All he knows is that I’ve kidnapped his beautiful wife.
An eye for an eye—isn’t that how the saying goes? And Aubree Culling is the perfect pawn to destroy him.
If she doesn’t destroy me first.
- Ricochet
- Backfire (A Vigilantes Novel Book 2) – June 9th 2016
- Ballistic (Ricochet, #3) – expected release date TBA 2016
Ughh, I thought that the follow up books were already released. Guess I need to wait then.
But so looking forward to read them, I am not ready to leave this world yet.
Adding Ricochet to my tbr list!
I hope our whole crew reads this book!
I’m starting this weekend!
Awesome to hear its a series!! Reading this makes me want to reread it and drool over that cover some more. Looking forward to the other books too!
I’m starting it next. 🙂
