I loved this series (and so did my mom!!). An addictive and funny, passion-filled series that will have you consuming each one after the next. A world where witches, vampires, werewolves, valkyrie, and “others”co-exist. Families and alliances, enemies and foes. One by one, every new installment focuses on a new paranormal power struggle, often between equally matched opponents. But the twist? The enemies in battle are often appalled (and titillated) when they realize they are destined mates.
As per the author’s website:
Every creature or being that was thought to be mythical . . . isn’t.
They all secretly exist alongside humans and enjoy the gift of immortality. There are hundreds of different kinds: from Vampires to Lykae, from Furies to Shifters, from the Fey to Valkyries.
These immortals call their world The Lore.
You may have had a brush with one of Lorekind already. The eccentric billionaire with hypnotic charisma—and an aversion to sunlight. The ethereal waif of impossible beauty—whose fingernails look more like claws. The Highlander with a seventeenth-century Scottish accent and animal magnetism—who can never be penciled in on the night of the full moon.
They walk among us, but they war among themselves. Each faction has its strengths, weaknesses, and age old prejudices against the others. Every five hundred years, the Accession, a battle for supremacy, rages. That time is now. . . .
- The Warlord Wants Forever (now released on it’s own, it was originally found in the Playing Easy to Get anthology). This short story introducing the series. The story of vampire Nikolai Wroth & Valkyrie Myst the Coveted
- “Untouched” as found in the A Deep Kiss of Winter Anthology
- Shadow’s Claim (The Dacians: Realm of Blood and Mist) - by Kresley Cole – expected release date August 21st 2012 (this is the first Immortals After Dark spinoff book)
As per Kresley Cole regarding the future of the series:
“After 2011, there will be at least four more full-length novels (including Lothaire’s book in early 2012). There really is no end in sight for the series. I have another dozen plotted out, so I’m ready for more if you are!”

Kresley Cole books are amazing i went through one a day cant even choose a fave i love them all, well worth reading!!!
Plese don’t stop writing this series, I was hoping Ms cole would back to some oh the character and do a 2 book such as Lochan and Emma, they really need another book, Murdock and his brothers finding there Sisters, and the Demond boys
Hi,
I was just wondering if any of you have an idea if Ms. Cole wrote the story of Lanthe and Thronos from the book `kiss of a demon king`?
I’m not sure if I miss it and if not if there are rumours of it coming out?
i think the next book you should write should be a book about regin and one of the lykae twin brothers. i think they would make a very intersting pair.
Omg. Neverr have I fell in love with an authur since the great stephen king! I don’t ever want it to end..these books are great for men n woman alike!! The passion and suspense …sometimes I have to hide my book so I don’t blast through it as fast othertimes my 5yr old takes the book so I will play with her I’ve just finish number 9 n await the the big accession!
I have never loved books as much as I love these!!! I can’t seem to put them down!! I love how each book is tied together and all the stories are in the same world!!! I get so caught up in them and I am almost done with Kiss of a Demon King and I just started it! I have to start limiting how many pages I read so I don’t spend my entire day reading it! I really really hope she writes a lot more because these books are just too good to end!
I “marathon” read this series also. I have a few favorites, but a standout for me was Cade’s book.
Like so many others who have raved about Kresley Cole’s phenominally written Immortals After Dark series, I, too, believe many of these stories NEED a follow-up book! Lady Cole don’t you even dare to think of retiring…and please write faster.
Hi Laura! How did you like her latest one? Any favorites?
This series makes me *blush*. The books never get old, I could read they all day, and each story gets better. Dark Needs at Night’s Edge (book 4) was my favorite. I feel in love with Conrad.
Oh yes that is one of my favorites too!. But the first demon brother book. That one was my favorite for sure.
I’m on Cade’s book now. Everytime I finish one of the books I say to my self “that has to be my favorite” And then I read the next one. I seriously can not choose. I love them all!
Cole’s book is also my favourite…but I just finished re-reading Kaderine and Sebastion’s book. Love love loved it!! So hard to decide!! Can’t wait for Lothaire”s book!
I love this series, and my mom has just finished (and loved it) too!
I love this series!!!!! I just finished the last one.
can’t wait til Luther comes out……even though I can’t decide whether I like him or hate him.
This series is awesome!!!!!!!I have friends at work addicted just like me. Miss Cole has a great mind for a story. I have read all the books and can’t wait for the next one. My favorite books would have to be Bowen and Maris book and Crows and Malcolm. I read alot and have favorite authors, but Miss Cole is part of my top three.
I just started this series and I love it already I am on the second book
I just have to say that this series is quickly rising up to one of my favorites! Cade and Holly’s story totally made me smile! Also, wanted to say to Maryse that I LOVE your site, and think that it’s awesome that you help out nerds like me find out the next book in a series, or a really good series to read! Thank you!
Awww Kristin!! Thank you!! I’m so glad to help – I’m always on the lookout for something good.
I LOVED Cade’s story. One of my favorites, for sure!
Reading the books and loving them!
I have decided that Nix is my all time favorite character in this series.
l0ve d st0ries! They’re interesting.. Can’t get en0ugh of them.,..
OMG I have just finished Lothaire & I must say that once again it was an awesome read. Please say that there will be more to follow as there is still plenty of room.
I Love This Series!! I re-read the series about every six months. Usually when I have to hold off buying any new books for a week or two. lol I love this web site it really helps me when I am looking for something new or different to read.
Love love love the series! But I cannot figure out which book is #7 in the series???
Nadia
Book #7 is Pleasure of a Dark Prince (Immortals After Dark).
The list above is the exact reading order guide (in the order you should read the books)
I hope that helps!
I’ve not read any of the books in this series…do you need to read them in order for them to make sense? I’m totally excited to start!
Hi Lucia! Yes, it is best to read them in order as there are character introductions throughout and a progressing story line in the background of each main story.
My Lothaire review on Amazon…
Wowza…. I mean…. WOOOOWWWWZZZAAAAAA!!! At first I was thinking I should reread the series so that I could flow right into Lothaire, but no need… Picks right up where she left off in Dreams of a Dark Warrior…. I must say, the Enemy of Old in past books, made me think he was old and wrinkly… BUT NO WAY… he’s hotter than hot… I have to admit, he pisses me off A LOT in this book, but I guess a little anger never hurt anyone, especially when it melts into that hot steamy hunk of a man… and in the words of Maryse (www.maryse.net) SQUEEEEEEEEE…. He’s a beautiful Alpha male with money, looks, and badass ways… and what could be better than our little Miss human, Elizabeth to tame that mutha!!! Lots of ups and downs, tears, and of course always laughs… that damn crew of Vaulkeries and Witches…. “Nickle beers and disco bowling” I’M IN!!! FIVE STARS….
