Sarah emailed me to mention this series:
“L.A Banks has one of the best vampire and other world series I have ever read…”
Jude commented:
“I’d like to mention L.A. Bank’s Vampire Huntress Legend Series. After getting into the first book, wow – I had to read them all.”
About book #1:
There is one woman who is all that stands between us and the eternal night.
Here is an account of her legend….All Damali Richards ever wanted to do was create music and bring it to the people. Now she is a Spoken Word artist and the top act for Warriors of Light Records. But come nightfall, she hunts vampires and demons—predators that people tend to dismiss as myth or fantasy. But Damali and her Guardian team cannot afford such delusions, especially now, when a group of rogue vampires have been killing the artists of Warriors of Light and their rival, Blood Music. Strange attacks have also erupted within the club drug-trafficking network and drawn the attention of the police. These killings are a bit out of the ordinary, even for vampires. No neat puncture marks in the neck to show where the life’s blood has been sucked from the body. These bodies have been mutilated beyond recognition, indicating a blood lust and thirst for destruction that surpasses any Damali has encountered before. Damali soon discovers that behind these brutal murders is the most powerful vampire she has ever met, and this seductive beast is coming for her next. But his unholy intentions have also drawn the focus of other hellish dark forces. Soon Damali finds herself being pulled deeper into the vast and horrifying vampire world.

i read all your books. They were amazing . Thank u for hours of
enjoyment
I have to say I bought Awakening first and gave it to my sister to read and tell me if I would like it. By the time I got back to asking her about he she had read Minion and told me to read it first. When I got it I started reading it then moved on to Awakening, the Hunted, and Bitten, at that point I just went out and bought all I could find and until I was caught up with her writing them. I was on pins and needles waiting for the last two. It was over to soon. I even read the one about the Children. It’s not the vampires I loved its the way she used them to respresent the devil and the light representing God. She took everything to a different level. She gave us everything you could want in a series like this. Leslie Esdaile Banks will be missed!!!!!
I meet Leslie years ago at a book signing in NYC next to Central Park and I had her sign The Awakening. She was very kind and sweet I was very saddened to learn that she had passed. She was and still is one of my most favorite authors. She will be missed terribly.
I started and finished the series years ago and immediately fell in love with the story. I have since then done ALOT of research into the “mythology” of the story and have found some very interesting correlations to the world in which we live and the fictional world created. At one point I had even downloaded and printed the between the books stories that were in the website but have since lost half of them. I am now in the process of re-reading the books for the second third time but now I am sharing it with my daughter. I would love to be able to pass on to her the between the books stories as well along with the added information on the characters, councils, realms, and background of the story but all of the websites have been taken down. If anyone has them or can find please let me know. After reading this series, being the book glutton that I am, I read everything that was ever written by L.A. Banks and still to this day think that she was an oracle of the Light imparting the world with knowledge that is much needed. Her insight and her ability to weave a tale was, lack of a better term, absolutely celestial and will never be topped. She is sadly missed. Ashe!
My God @Robyn C. Wilson, I was a real jitterbug when I stumbled upon the neteru series. I thought I knew all there was to know about the series but not until THIS month did I even KNOW THERE WERE BETWEEN STORIES!!! DEAREST GOD, I MISS HER VOICE! I’ve positively SCORED THE INTERNET LOOKING FOR THEM. I finally brought myself to read Shadow Walker after years of putting it off once I’d found she passed, knowing there would be no book #2 in the Neteru Academy series and fearing it would leave us all with some terrible cliff hanger made all the more terrible by the fact that no matter HOW THOROUGH THE ENDING, IT WOULD LEAVE US ALL HANGING! AND IT DID! I FINISHED IT IN LESS THAN 24HRS! And I dreaded every page I turned, knowing there would be no more once there was no more. smh
Thank you thank you thank you!!!!
Does anyone know where I can get the “Between the Books” stories? The vampire huntress website no longer exists

Ravelle, being that I am re-reading the series with my daughter I did some digging through some of the papers that I had in my home office and I was able to find a few of the between the books that I had printed front he website back in 2007 but they don’t start at the beginning. I’m. Now on a complete destruction of my home office to see if there is any way to find the parts that I am missing. If I am able to find them all I will make sure to let you know. I have even gone so far as to do some torrent searches for them to no avail because most of the torrents no longer have seeders in which to download them from. But just as Damali refused to let the Darkness kill her man I will not let them keep the between the books from me. I have my own Madam Isis and ain’t afraid to use it. Lol
LOL! Robyn, you’re AWESOME! Knowing I had to get my behind goin’ for work this morning, my husband begging me to get up,10 minutes ’til I needed to BE ON THE ROAD, I was still lying in bed! Strictly speaking, I am NOT a morning person, so stalling still, I rolled over and decided to check my email for some reason. Not only did your response slap a great big smile across my face, but a burst of energy not even my husband packing my lunch this morning could give assailed me so, when I was done reading your email I felt refreshed, renewed, and full of a driving hope! I’m so glad you’ve found the few stories you have! Eventually, if once you’ve pounced upon your home office’s every nook and cranny and still come up short, I assure you (though it’ll suck in it’s own right) what few stories you have, God knows I’d most GRATEFULLY accept a copy! GOD KNOWS!!!!
And again, thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!
P.S. I’m glad you understood what I was asking in my first message. I just reread it and realized I never got around to the asking lol Thanks!
You are very very very welcome. I will keep you updated on my search. Keep that energy running. I’m not at all a morning person either so I completely understand the stall method of getting up. I like to thing of the books as my very own personal for. Of battery charger because every time I read them I am renewed with vigor to make something out of nothing and I learn something new to research to the bone.
Me and nothing outta something go hand in hand, TOTALLY feel you that. I feel like L.A. Banks did that better than any author I’ve across your, yet! But yes, Robyn, I want you to know I EAGERLY AWAIT YOUR RESPONSE! AND I BELIEVE IN YOU! lol #goget’emtiger
Lol make that something outta nothing! Excuse the typos, auto correct is never my friend! 😉

I may be able to assist in your search since I may have copies of the earlier between the books on my old computer. I’m going to ask my boyfriend if he can resurrect my comp!
@HOLLY AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! TEAM WORK MAKES THE DREAM WORK! I know I’m absolutely NO help here, but this is looking very promising! To the both of you, I BELIEVE IN YOU! Go get ’em, girls!
@Holly @Robyn @Ravelle
Can I please get copies of the in between books? I cried when I went looking for the website and it was gone. I am beyond sad.
https://vampire-huntres.com/wiki/Vampire_Huntress_Legend_Series_Wiki
There’s 34 between the books chapters.
Nothing like the first time (prequel that came in a sampler book)
30 from the official website.
2 that came in books. The Cursed First Edition and mass market paperback copies of The Forsaken.
Finally Atlantis Rising. Which was a downloadable PDF that was released before The Thirteenth.
I’ve archived them all on my Vampire Huntress Legend Series fan-wiki. I’ve also done my best to figure out their *exact* placement in the series. (Some take place in-between chapters in the books, such as Atlantis Rising.)
Some of you may also be shocked to find out there were additional stories. All of which have been archived on the wiki, but I haven’t found the exact placement of them yet. I’m currently in the middle of re-reading the series (again) to log as much lore as possible on the wiki.
Damali’s Journal
Inside the Mind of A Vampire
Carlos’ Black Box.
Damn, do you have “nothing like the first time?” Banks added it her MySpace. But looks like that’s gone.
