I love this series read all 17 so far in a month and a half. Can’t wait for Flirt #18(bonus Anita novel – March 2010)and #19 Bullet (June 2010)

I’m so happy that Bullet will include Jean-Claude again, like the old times!! One of my all time favorite vampires… *heart*

What is a “pom de san”? Proper spelling please. I have not seen it in print. I listen to the books on audio.

Thanks

Cherry September 10, 2010 at 11:52 AM

A Pomme de sang literally means apple of blood. It is a favored pet of the Master of the City vampire, in this case, Jean Claude. His pomme de sang is Jason, a werewolf in Richard’s clan.

Maryse September 11, 2010 at 11:29 AM

Thanks Cherry! :)

…not entirely correct cherry. a pom de sang is not a ter specific to a master of the city. any master vampire powerful enough might have one. when muzette visits she has an underaged pome de sang with her. muzette is not a master of the city.

Do her Anita Blake short stories fall in between these novels or are they completely stand alone? I am not even sure how many short stories there are.
Thanks!

barbara g February 28, 2011 at 7:40 PM

when was her book stange cady published

Rose June 2, 2011 at 8:01 PM

No matter how many men Anita gets involved with..I love Richard the best..He is the most manly of the bunch…not that I mind the other guys..Nathaniel is special…gotta love him…Micah is always there for her..Jean Claude is Jean Claude… But Richard is the real sex pot!

Maryse June 5, 2011 at 10:12 AM

I LOVED Jean Claude most. I did Richard also, for a while, but he got too mean for me. Unfortunately, Jean-Claude has been mostly missing in the latest books (‘cept for Bullet) but even in that one, it wasn’t the Jean Claude I usually sigh over…

Amy June 20, 2011 at 2:23 PM

I love this series I am currently re-reading it. Can’t wait for hit list

Teresa July 13, 2011 at 3:28 PM

I loved Richard and Jean-Claude from the beginning, but I’m really starting to go xrazy for Devil! Also, is Strange Candy actually part of the series?

angelique September 6, 2011 at 2:39 PM

I love this seires I really love the male characters richard and Jean-Claude. I like that anita is a n independent women who comes to depend on her men. I like that she is bad-ass and can protect herself but sometimes she will let her men protect her only after they argue about it. I loved that my friends also tell me they love the sex sence in the book

I just started listening to the audio version of the Anita Blake Vampire Hunter Series. I’m not a big fan of all the vampire books but fell in love with Sookie Stackhouse…and now I’m hooked on Anita Blake. I love burying down in my pillows at night, slipping in my earbuds and listening to this funny, sexy, tough woman fight the supernatural. The narrator is awesome and I can tell when characters change and who they are. The only complaint…listening to the books it seems like there a lot of “I said”, “He said”, “She said” to tell which character is speaking…but I get right past that! I’m on book 7 and moving right along!

I have read every book up to date so far nearly 3 times! I love it! I especially love Nathaniel, he’s just so adorable I just want to take him home with me! Infact I almost adore all of anita’s partners! If only books could come to life… I do think that Richard turned into a giant ass sometimes but I still like him for some reason.. Hooray for the magic mythical hotness action packed series that I love so much!!

Willow April 18, 2012 at 1:42 AM

I’ve read all the books and read them in two weeks the first time. I’m reading them for the second time. Jean Claude is my favorite and I feel like the series turned a little silly after she started sleeping with everything. I like the relationship with Micha as well. I just hope she gets back to the central theme a non vampire in love with a vampire.

I have really enjoyed your books. The only thing wrong with them is once I start reading them I can’t stop until I finish them. Thank you for so many hours of enjoyable reading. You have a real talent for it.

I absolutly love every book, it just keeps me reading and i’ve finished every book and im waiting on (Kiss the Dead) though that is proving to be extreamly hard. I love the characters that come into the book, there is something about Jean Claude that makes me wish i could take him home the details she puts into him just take my breath away. Micah and Nathaniel are just the best i can’t wait to see where the new book takes me…….. hopefully more sex, i can’t help it i love the sex scenes. I just think the sex scenes bring so much to the books and without that i don’t even think anita would be the same character she has grown to be. She still captivates me and im sure millions of readers.

Where to go with this series?? When I read the comments, I sometimes feel like I am the only one that feels this series had a complete derailment! I love this series! However, past the 10th book, I just feel it took such a downward spiral with no hope of recovery.. The last book “Kiss the Dead”, was the worst yet. The entire book is her explaining her lifestyle to the other police and marshalls, or discussing how good she is at her job. When she isn’t doing that, she is feeding the Ardeur (sp?).. I miss the old days,, when Anita just did her job, and didn’t need to talk about how good she was, cause she just was! When a chapter wasn’t wasted on describing weapons, or in bullet when there was an entire chapter describing a workout! I love romance, lust and sex in a book… But, Holy CROW! Anita get off your back! And seriously? Where is Jean-Claude!!!!! sigh….. That being said, I still anxiously await every book release and will continue to do so.. Each time hoping that it will be closer to the old Anita that I fell in love with.

Briana July 9, 2012 at 2:33 AM

is there going to be book 22? after Kiss The Dead?

SUZANNE July 10, 2012 at 2:21 PM

Do you know when Laurel Hamiltons Anita Blake book 22 will be out? I was a little disappointed with book 21 but don’t want to have to wait a year to see how book 22 will be.

Briana July 12, 2012 at 7:05 PM

I MISS ASHER!!!!

Stevie August 10, 2012 at 4:20 AM

And i would like to know if there will be a book 22? i would really love to know…Thanx

jennifer August 13, 2012 at 10:08 PM

Is there gonna be a book 22 and if so what will it take to get Anita to take the 4th mark

Richard August 30, 2012 at 12:01 PM

I have been reading the Anita Blake series and have been enjoying the imaginative plots very much. I am on book 12 and getting bored with all the sex. It’s gotten to the point that she screws everything that walks, crawls and stumbles in front of her. In my opinion your plots are strong enough without all the sex. I know, I know, they are romance novels! I found that out after I started reading the series, although not much romance is going on here, just pure unadulterated copulating. Don’t take me wrong I’m not a prude, but I find myself skimming through her sexual exploits (Evelyn Wood style) to get to the meat of the plot! I guess what I’m getting at is there a point to this further on in the series, or is it just sex thrown in to amuse the bored female reader? Just asking before I read on? I must say I love your imaginative plots.
Richard.

Kai October 18, 2012 at 8:30 AM

I hope she doesnt stop, making these books ;-)

Danielle November 19, 2012 at 8:52 PM

I loved this series, heck I cant wait until the next one comes out, but I agree with Richard …enough with the lying on your back Anita! Asher annoys the crap out of me and I would love to hand Micah a spine..however,that is a testament to how real she creates her characters. I am dying to find out about Merry Gentry too. Thank goodness LKH ‘s health improved and her muse is back…

Vicky November 21, 2012 at 12:27 AM

If you read the list of Anita book titles up above it states: Affliction—- expected release date set for June 4th, 2013

MONIQUE December 11, 2012 at 10:46 AM

I LOVED THIS SERIES!! I FINISHED ALL 22 BOOKS IN ABOUT TWO MONTHS! I SOOO CAN’T WAIT UNTIL JUNE FOR AFFLICTION!!!

Jiah December 27, 2012 at 5:17 AM

I love this series! I just finished reading Kiss the Dead. Though it wasn’t the best of the series I still enjoyed it. Richard got annoying and mean but I wish LKH would bring back more of him and Jean Claude, I think I like all the guys though and Jade! June 4, 2013 needs to hurry up

Jen January 3, 2013 at 9:22 AM

Just finished up book 6 and I must say that Anita is no longer my hero. I can’t get over her betraying Richard. I heard that the story gets lost in future books because of the sex so I probably won’t be reading any more of the series. I agree with Richard’s post.

Tamra February 24, 2013 at 11:36 PM

I’m on book number 14 and i’ve only been reading them for a week but I have a lot of spare time on my hands lol

Jane April 28, 2013 at 3:29 AM

I love the series but I agree with Richard and related previous comments: The having-sex-with-everything-that-moves is getting OLD! What happened to her JOB? There’s no longer a fun, sexy, action packed plot, no compelling storyline, just over the top, overkill sex to the point it’s boring (and I for one think sex should NEVER be boring;-) and then there’s Anita’s whining! LKH needs to re-read her own work and get the storyline back on track. I will continue to read the series but I’d like to see a return to Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter and not Anita Blake, I Wanna Bonk Every Body I Lay Eyes On.
