<— Okay I had never heard of this one until yesterday when two of my reading buddies (we have very similar book-taste) buddy-read this series together and loved it. Then… they let me in on the fun!!! Yep… I NEED THIS!!!!
Kandace: Maryse, Lori and are reading Falling In by Lydia Michaels and we are loving it hard. It’s a trilogy. We both are past the 80% mark of bk 1. I can’t explain it but it is really drawing us in. This is a series that I haven’t seen much talk about and I think it truly deserve to be recognized. The feels are all over the place. It’s about a girl who has lived her entire life on the street and a rich guy. It sounds simple but it is way more than that. I think a lot of your followers would love this book. I’m hoping the rest of the books keep the same momentum. I just thought I would share with you. … It did take until about chapter three for me to really get into it.
Maryse: Okay this sounds great!!! I am going to look it up in the morning and get started! Thanks guys!
Kandace: I love discovering the hidden ones. …it’s third POV which I usually don’t like but it works in this story.
Maryse: Ahhh yeah. I’m good with 3rd person.
Lori: Oh the feels are all over the place. How have we never heard of this??
Kandace: ^^^ exactly Lori. How many more are out there *sighs*
Lori: Has she written anything else? I wonder when this released? Cause they’re all out…
Kandace: I just finished book 3. I truly loved this series. Book 1 and 3 were my favorite, I’m going on 4 hrs of sleep right now because I couldn’t stop reading. I’ll be honest, I didn’t love a section in book 2. Only because I’m selfish and I wanted it to not go there. But it did enhance the story.
Maryse: Oh well I’m very intrigued about this part you mention in #2…
Lori: of course you are Maryse! lol bring on the angst…
Bethany: Kandace now I really wanna read book #2!!!
Maryse: I know right??!! Now book #2 seems like it’s gonna be my favorite. I’m so mean to the characters! I want that angst!! 😛
About book #1:
With a dark past that would have shattered most people, Evelyn “Scout” Keats is doing what no one in her bleak world thinks possible—getting off the streets and leaving her impoverished life behind. She’s a new maid at the luxurious Patras Hotel, and aims to keep her job no matter what. But that doesn’t mean she’s going to sacrifice her dignity, or let anyone into her heart. The risk of losing either is just too great.
When hotel tycoon Lucian Patras discovers Evelyn in a compromising position, he uses everything at his disposal to seduce her—a proposition that both surprises and frightens her.
Ignorant to her true circumstances, Lucian relentlessly pursues Scout as a prize to be won. But he is soon given an unforgettable lesson in love and sacrifice when he learns how far Scout has gone to gain her independence and discovers that there are some things money can never buy.
Okay. Sold. I am in.
Finished the series last night. I truly loved it. It really makes me think about how many children have grown up homeless and have lived most of their life on the streets. I hope anyone who picks it up connects the same way I did. Book 1 and 3 were my favorite.
Sounds great! I gotta check it out!
Love this trilogy so hard! It’s really great, unusual h, alpha H who adores her, awesome. I see a reread coming.
Ohhh re-read category, huh!?? Okay yeah… I gotta read this ASAP!
Maryse I’m with you when a fellow reader says not only do they love it but it’s also a reread I’m all in!!!!! Thanks Lori!!! One clicked this series!!! Look forward to it:-)))
The main character is first described in a way that totally draws you into the story. Her life is just really really hard. In the second part of the book its like she is a completely different person and that always makes me bring books down a notch. She did not stay true to herself or the author forgot how she first described her to us. The story was really good in itself its just that character split that rubbed me the wrong way. I will for sure be reading the next one to see what happens.
