Marie Force – McCarthys of Gansett Island Series Reading Order

by Maryse on January 23, 2012 · 15 comments

in Reading Order Guide:

I found this author in the e-book bargains, and they were calling to me! When I made mention that so many of the books seemed to be right up my alley, my friend Tina commented:

“I’ve read a lot of Marie Force’s books and her men are Alphas but not as gruff.  Does that make sense?  You get the protective stuff without the “leather wearin’ can kill you with my glare and two fingers” Alpha alpha.  I liked the MacCarthys series of hers the best.   You get a sense of community with the storylines … these folks live on Gansett Island.   True North was pretty good too.   Got to love hot, rich men.”

and Karen emailed me stating:

“LOVE LOVE LOVE Marie Force, especially Line of Scrimmage and Everyone Loves a Hero.”

I love Marie Force, but her heros are definitely not the rough, tough, gruff alpha types. What I love about her books is that her guys are not afraid to show their love for their special woman. Usually in her books, it’s the woman who is holding back and the guy who has to chase her.

The chase is always fun! Thank you Jen!

Krystal… I’d love to know what you think.

I love Marie Force she writes really well, my fave of all time was Line of Scrimmage, also Love at First Flight was FAB! i must say they are sometimes a little hit and miss, for example the Fatal series just doesn’t do it for me but the Gansett Island books are great. For me nothing has touched Line of Scrimmage, i don’t know if it is because it was the first book of hers I read or the fact the the H is a big bad NFL player but it was a not able to put down book for me.

I agree with Penny, I loved Line of Scrimmage. Also, try her book The Wreck. It’s one of those heartbreaking books that is worth the read…tears and all. No alphas though. The McCarthy’s books are good & it’s still an ongoing series. Plus she is one of those authors that is always putting out new books…which I love. I hate it when great authors put out 1 or 2 a year!

I’ve read all of Marie Force’s books and while they aren’t necessarily squeeze worthy, there is not a bad one in the bunch. Check out The Wreck and the Treading Water trilogy. Those are her best IMO!

Oops I meant squee. Damn auto spell check!

I just finished “Ready for Love” !!!! ahh.. I completely love it !!! Its just wanted I needed. Human romance, the every day trials of life ! Im already downloading the fourth, Falling for Love. and well definitely look into her other books !!! Love the warmth and the drive the guys have ! After reading Fifty Shades.. i tried Immortals after dark and Guardians of Eternity but I couldn’t connect with the characters on “that” level.. But those McCarthy’s !!! ahh i love them :D

Does anyone know when the next McCarthy book is going to be coming out?

I can’t wait until book 9. I have read all 8 books in 2.5 days. I love Marie Force as an author. She always has me wanting to get to the next book to find out what is going on. My favorite books of all times are The McCarthy’s. I love that Big Mac, Mac, Adam, Evan, Grant, Joe, Owen , and the rest of the guys show their love and chase after the ones they love. When Janey, Steph, Laura, Abby, Linda, mad die, Tiffany, and the other women hide what they feel and want.

I loved the book Maid For Love – it was such wonderful romance and I fell in love with Maddie, Mac and Thomas and SO wanted them to be together. Looking forward to reading more of your wonderful books. Thank you.
