I remember this book from a couple of years ago, when it was “indie”. The recommendations for it came fast and furious as this one was proving to be heartfelt and angsty!
Petra: For those who havent read The Unwanted Wife, you should. Did have high expectations for this book but, was pleasantly surprised. The beginning of this book is soo heartbreaking, I felt like I was The Unwanted Wife. Did I mention the main character speak italian (SO HOT).
Alice: Just read it, it was really good! Pleasantly surprised.
Petra: I know, right! I enjoyed it since it was the “typical” love story.
Claudia: I’m reading and is very good!!
Tilly: Just read The Unwanted Wife (based on recommendations from y’all). Really enjoyed it. Made me teary in parts, but not as “angsty” as some. Very heartwarming.
Michele: Awww. I just finished “The Unwanted Wife” & LOVED it!! Thanks so much to whoever recommended it on here!
Petra: I loved that book to. I cried and cried.
Jennifer: ok read “unwanted wife” and then read it again….wasn’t sure about it but it was good…..u could totally feel the husband’s hatred for their “marriage”…
Tiffany: the most recent read that made me cry was The Unwanted Wife by Natasha Anders. Bawled like a baby from the beginning
I’m actually finishing it up tonight. Wow, took me long enough to read it, considering the premise is right up my alley. *shakes head* 😉 A woman in love with her husband… but he did not love her back. Talk about unrequited love! And guess what I just realized? Even though this one reads as a standalone, there are TWO more “standalone” books coming (one at the end of this month, and another in June!). Yay for book-marriage troubles! 😉
About book #1:
Delicate, titian-haired Theresa Noble has met her father’s associates in the past, but the gorgeous, Italian-born Sandro De Lucci leaves her speechless. Eighteen months into their marriage, however, Sandro has turned to ice. Desperate to escape a relationship that has proven to be as stubbornly passionate as it is cold and hateful, Theresa summons up the courage to ask for a divorce. But before he’ll grant her request, Sandro demands something from Theresa: a son.
The stalemate sickens her. Never mind that Sandro has yet to introduce Theresa to the large family that means so much to him. Or that Theresa overhears her husband on the phone with a mystery woman. Most damning is that Theresa senses, in Sandro’s treatment of her, the behind-the-scenes machinations of Jackson Noble, her cruel father. From the depths of her anxiety, Theresa must seek an empowering truth about the husband who calls her, with such cold affection, his cara, his beloved.
Is there actually cheating in this book?
Yep, I’m on here commenting again. Come on, when I’m sick feel like the girl on the front of the book Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me – and that title fits me when I’m sick, too. 😉
ANY-ways…I read this back when it was an indie with the cover of the woman standing in the water. It *really* is an emotional read at the beginning. I was pretty surprised about how much I felt for a character I barely knew, but that’s how well it was written. I felt like crying for her more than once. It has emotional tension that flirts with angst, but nothing overwhelming. At least for me. 😉 I recommend this one along with the other ladies!
Candy, i feel like it’s worth reading even not knowing the answer to that, it’s almost a spoiler to know how much of a jerk he is or isn’t. Amy, you’re so funny i love that u reference Tosh.0 and i agree with your feelings on this book, i’ve re-read it many times
I’m 70% in right now, and am enjoying it. 🙂
Agreed, Diane, that it would be a spoiler. I’ve heard of Tosh.0 but have never actually watched it – did he say something about that book as well? The cover cracks me up!
Maryse, you’re at about 70% so she is…ya know, and he is being…ya know, and the rollercoaster isn’t over yet because… *muffled* Um, alright, so I’m gonna go sleep off the Nyquil now…
Well someone referenced him!! Hope u love it Mayse, IDK, this one just did it for me & now I’m re-reading AGAIN
Just read it and awwwww. Very sweet. 🙂
