R.K. Lilley – Tristan & Danika Series Reading Order

in Reading Order Guide:

<— Yep! I believe THIS will be my next series read – and I mean NOW! I am soooooo in the mood for a bad boy angsty-heartache train wreck of a love story like this! And since book #3 was just released, I won’t even have to suffer the wait! YAY ME!! These recommendations have me convinced I will be torn apart and floating in a love fog, and that’s just what I need!

Helen: Maryse,You have to.You must! It’s heart breaking.Gut wrenching.Oh the agony! I just finished Rock Bottom(Tristan & Danika #2) & I’m just ahhhh… I have no words. It’s so so soooo good. Those two just kill me.You must read Bad Things first though. It felt like I waited forever for this book to come out.So worth the wait. It’s even better than the first one.Read it like today. I promise you won’t regret it.

Cat: If you haven’t read the spin off from R K Lilley’s Grounded series – Bad Things and Rock Bottom – OMG!!!! The next one, Lovely Trigger is due out early Feb and continues and concludes a heart shattering love story. I loved the Up in the Air series (James Cavendish and Bianca), and Tristan and Danika were side characters but their story is so rich, beautiful and yet devastating I CANNOT move on from it no matter how many other books I read, and I read a lot!!!     You know those books where the side characters become so much more, you already knew them, were intrigued and my god they didn’t disappoint and completely stole the show. That’s Bad Things and Rock Bottom.

Jean: I agree with Cat, R.K. Lilley’s Bad Things and Rock Bottom were absolute favorites of mine and not the typical love story!!!

About book #1:

Danika hasn’t had an easy life. Being insanely attracted to bad boys has never helped make it easier. One look at Tristan, and every brain cell she possessed went up in smoke. This man was trouble with a capital T. It was a given. She knew better. Bad boys were bad. Especially for her. Considering her history, it was crazy to think otherwise. So why did crazy have to feel so damn fine?

For as long as she could remember, Danika had been focused on the future with single-minded purpose. Tristan came along and taught her everything there was to know about letting go, and living in the present. She fell, hard and deep. Of course, that only made her impact with the ground that much more devastating.

Bad Things is about Tristan and Danika, and their train wreck of a love story. This series can be read as a standalone, or with the Up in the Air Series (this series is the spinoff of Up in the Air Series).

YOU HAVE TO READ THIS MARYSE!! I absolutely LOVE this series and have been waiting for Lovely Trigger for what seems like forever! I think I may be calling out sick on Tuesday just so I can sit on my couch all day and read it! Incredible story….and they started as friends…..but so many hurdles….I know you love when that happens! Great, great series and great author!

Maryse March 6, 2014 at 11:47 AM

Jean!!! I LOVE when they start as friends!!!! I can’t wait for this… i’m craving it.

Jean March 6, 2014 at 11:48 AM

I guarantee you will love it! Are you still reading the Kathleen Turner series with me??

Maryse March 6, 2014 at 12:01 PM

Yep I am!! :D Actually my work schedule kept me from reading over the last couple of days but I’m free for the whole day today!! So I’m going to read my heart out. :D

Jean March 6, 2014 at 12:03 PM

Cool! Loving the 2nd book Kathleen Turner book so much better….but I will drop everything for Tristan and Danika!! I seriously can’t wait for you to read their story!

Maryse March 6, 2014 at 12:36 PM

Jean… I just did something bad. I started TWO books at once today. *whoops*

My 2nd Kathleen Turner book,

but then Celeste tempted me on a newish one that was already on my radar ’cause of other recommendations —> Full Measures – and she just told me it would make me sob and it was amazing (and Celeste is usually kind of difficult when it comes to books). Eeeep! Oh boy… ;)

So two for me today, but the fact that you’re loving #2 even more than #2 makes me VERY happy!!

*stupid squirreling* (shakes head)…

Jean March 6, 2014 at 12:41 PM

Oh, I Maryse I don’t blame you….I saw that comment from Celeste and had already 1-clicked Full Measures. I’m going to TRY to finish 2nd Kathleen Turner book…. I just can’t read 2 books at once (well, I’ve never really tried to be honest….haha)!

And who knows when I’ll get back to 3rd Kathleen Turner book because of all the new books out right now and the highly anticipated release of Lovely Trigger! But, it seems like it’s easy to read other books in between the Turner books because they are really different and easy to go back to. Gah….Need more time…….

Lisa76 March 6, 2014 at 12:46 PM

I can’t wait for this 3rd book. I have enjoyed this series much more than the In Flight series (I liked it but this one I love). Can’t wait to see where book 3 brings us!

Patty March 6, 2014 at 12:52 PM

You will love this trilogy…just finished kelli maine 2 New releases from taken series and I’m itching to start a new book but trying to hold off for lovely trigger. … can you suggest a good stand alone with a good bad boy to fill in my 4 day gap.

Don’t wait long to read Tristan and Danika’s story…it’s good.

Linda March 6, 2014 at 1:14 PM

Oh Lisa76 this series is even better than In Flight series you say? Because I loved that series. I’ve been waiting patiently for book 3 so I have no interruptions :-) right now reading Driven trilogy and sooo happy<3

Jean March 6, 2014 at 1:48 PM

Yes it is better than the In Flight series and I loved that series too!

Marlene March 6, 2014 at 2:47 PM

This series is amazing. There were parts that made me sob. Full of intensity and angst (and loyalty and friendship too), and very well written. Hope you enjoy it! Don’t wait too long. :-)

Patty R. March 6, 2014 at 3:56 PM

I read the In flight series as well and loved it…such good writing…..My only problem is that the books are released so far apart I’m forgetting some of the story line…..ugh I hate that…..I may have to re-read…

Jean March 6, 2014 at 4:36 PM

Maryse! You are such a bad (good) influence on me….of course I had to go read just the first couple pages of Full Measures (just to see) and was immediately hooked from the 1st page! Now, I am reading 2 books at once…. :) Haha!!

Linda March 6, 2014 at 4:44 PM

I haven’t tried that type of multitasking yet:-) not sure I’m that gifted:-)

Tessa March 6, 2014 at 4:45 PM

When you can, read this series! It is so rich in everything, from characters, steamy sex scenes, and super heart wrenching emotions. (Stupid books made me cry!). I can’t wait for March 11. I promise, this series won’t disappoint.

Jean March 6, 2014 at 4:47 PM

I don’t know if I’m that gifted either, but I’m trying, and it’s all Maryse’s fault!! And now I am trying not to ugly cry at the hair salon!!! It’s just the dye fumes getting to my eyes….that’s all…haha!

Maryse March 6, 2014 at 8:07 PM

Yep I’m well into TWO books right now… both very good!!

Maryse March 6, 2014 at 8:07 PM

Hey I almost cried at the hair salon two days ago!! Mine was ’cause of that song “Say Something”.

That one KILLS me every time.. I managed to hold it in long enough to not embarrass myself. :P

Patty March 6, 2014 at 8:15 PM

Are you guys talking about full measure because I was going to read it awaiting for lovely trigger and what are the Kathleen Turner books…Omg I am confused and have like 200 books on my kindle still to read…Maryse every time you post bargains and sequels of books I have read I one click them….. A very expensive hobby. How does everyone do it? I read like 2 or 3 books a week and can never get ahead. My kids are finally grown giving me time but my God I have to work and sleep and eat on occasion!! Lmao

Maryse March 6, 2014 at 8:23 PM

LOL Patty!!!! Sleeeep schmeeeep. :P Yes Jean and I are reading Full Measures AND book #2 in the Kathleen Turner series (here it is: http://www.maryse.net/reading-order-guide/tiffany-a-snow-kathleen-turner-series-reading-order.html)

Michelle March 6, 2014 at 9:39 PM

Once again I feel like the odd man out. I read the Series, but it was just a “meh” for me. So much so that this spinoff tale is not on my radar. I’ll wait for your review, Maryse. Were you impressed by that series? Huh… I’m getting picky I guess.

Michelle March 6, 2014 at 9:44 PM

So I looked up Full Measure, because I’m a glutton for punishment, apparently… Argh!!! It sounds good. And it’s only .99. But I don’t think I’m in a mood for crying. I’m in the mood for some Circe/Lahn kind of adventure and hotness. Anyone? Anyone?

Lori March 6, 2014 at 10:53 PM

I can’t wait for Lovely Trigger! Time really flies unless I’m waiting for a book to be published. There are a few I’m not so patiently waiting on.
I read Full Measure last week, I liked it, not love but it was nice, quick.

Kate March 7, 2014 at 12:06 AM

Just read Deviant by Callie Hart. Holy Jesus crap. Down the rabbit hole and I want more! Had the book tinglies for the first time in foreeeeeeeeeeeever. The thinking about it all day fog. Now I’m in the sad “I’m never gonna start another book cause they’re just not gonna be as good” sadness. Hoping Bad Things is my cure!

Jean March 7, 2014 at 9:01 AM

Maryse….just curious…..are you Team Blane or Team Kade at this point?? At about 50%, I was completely Team Kade (you know why ;) ), but now…..not so sure…..

Jean March 7, 2014 at 9:29 AM

And thanks Kate! I just 1-clicked Deviant….looks soooo good and only $.99!

Maryse March 7, 2014 at 9:58 AM

I’m leaning on Kade… ;)

Jean March 7, 2014 at 9:59 AM

Are you done yet? I have about 10% left and then need to finish Full Measures in the privacy of my own home (with my tissue box)!

Maryse March 7, 2014 at 10:18 AM

Not yet… i’m halfway with both. LOL!!! Intend to finish both today. Two reviews for this weekend. YAY!!

Jean March 7, 2014 at 10:26 AM

Can’t wait to see your reviews…..and to see which way you are leaning by the end of Turner’s 2nd book….haha! I was completely Team Kade, but now I am completely torn!!!! Now, I get the craziness over this series!

Maryse March 7, 2014 at 11:47 AM

YES!!!!! This is exactly why I love reading a series that progresses with the same group of characters.

Jean March 7, 2014 at 11:50 AM

Me too…..speaking of which….you really need to start Bad Things and Rock Bottom and finish before Tuesday!!! Haha! You can do it!

Lori March 7, 2014 at 1:49 PM

I have a date with Rock Bottom on Monday, gearing up for Tuesdays release of Lovely Trigger. Can’t wait!

Lila March 8, 2014 at 6:08 PM

I can’t believe you haven’t read Danika and Tristan’s series. It’s amazing. So deep and heartbreaking. I won’t ruin the story for you but i did write a “rewind” of Bad Things and Rock Bottom on my blog http://bookrewind.blogspot.com

I read them too fast and now I don’t know what to read til Tuesday!

Anyone else have suggestions?

Karen Caroto March 9, 2014 at 10:11 AM

I’m reading it too, Patty!!! Had to stop to put up the “new releases” post (which I’m working on right now), but right after… back to “Bad Things” for me!! :D

YAY US!!!!!

Tessa March 11, 2014 at 1:38 PM

Just finished Lovely Trigger. Great book, and made me cry a few too many times. (No spoilers here, promise!). But, his song actually was one of the crying spots! I love rock star books, but normally their songs are more blatant poetry rather than emotional music. I had to stop reading at that point due to emotional upheaval. Loved the whole book.

Jean March 11, 2014 at 2:14 PM

I did the same thing Patty…..re-read bad things and rock bottom over the weekend. Started Lovely Triiger at midnight and didn’t even make it to work today…haha…whoops! Just finished Lovely Trigger and I cannot express how much I love this series!!!! So glad you finally started it Maryse. Hope you like it as much as I did! :)
