I’ve been looking for a book I started but never got to finish.

Its a YA romance book where the male lead is ostracized because his father comes out as transgender.

The female lead is part/or fully Native American who lives in her grandmother’s trailer after she passes away. Her father is alcoholic.

Both are bullied and its dual POV.

Miranda is looking for this book! Oh wow, I’d almost say this is the start of the Anita Blake series by Laurell K. Hamilton, except for the fact that I don’t remember a troll being a part of the series. Maybe later, mind you… I read a ton of them, in my early paranormal addiction days. 🙂

Oh wait… is it her Merry Gentry series? I haven’t read it yet, but I could swear there’s a troll as one of the Heroes… and that’s probably what kept me from reading it. LOL!! I am trying to find a book I read awhile ago.

The H and h are in college in the first book as secondary characters (I think) and he takes her home for a holiday with his parents. She finds out there that he was dating someone else the whole time she was with him.

I think they are then the H and h in a subsequent book in the series.
