<— HAPPY FRIDAY EVERYONE!! A few new releases went live, that look like they might just rock our worlds (like that one to the left – Over You by Stevie J. Cole - that sounds SO GOOD!) Plus, some reader recommendations and bargain finds and…

What am I reading next? I’ve got two books picked out for this weekend to read (one super-angsty romance that’s from a few years ago Don’t Let Go). It was recommended as a great choice for what to read after The Sweet Gum Tree, and then those that jumped in went CRAZY for it, and commented on that post saying so. SO yeah… I GOTTA read it!!!

Also, I chose Her: A Psychological Thriller (by Britney King) and on this part alone: “For fans of the anti-heroine and stories told in unorthodox ways, Her delivers us the perfect dark and provocative villain. The only question–who is it?” I was all… MINE!!!! You know me. ;) SQUEEEEE!!!

  • Over You by Stevie J. Cole <— LIVE!!!! ROCK STAR ALERT!! He turned her life upside down… twice. “…He’s the guy most women would pay to have break their hearts. Lucky me. I already know how hard it is to get over him. Spencer made me believe in the notion of a soulmate at the age of seventeen. By twenty-three, he made me realize you could only truly hate someone you once loved..”
  • Vicious Minds: Part 1 (Children of Vice Book 4) by J.J. McAvoy <— LIVE!! J.J. MCAVOY ALERT!! Part one of the epic two-part conclusion to the Ruthless People and Children of Vice series…

Ayeesha: I highly recommend children of vice series by j.j mcavoy

Lauren: Ruthless People series… Book 1 was incredible….lots of great reviews. Mob romance/arranged marriage between an Italian Mafia Princess & an Irish mob boss.

  • Love Sincerely Yours by Meghan Quinn & Sara Ney <— GASP!!!! Look what’s super-bargain priced right now!! She sends a drunken letter to her boss...”… here I am, being open and honest. Drunk but honest. Or just drunk with lust? You decide. I have a hopeless, foolish, schoolgirl crush on you when you are the last person on earth I should be falling for. Did you know people around the office call you a sadist? An egomaniac. An insensitive, arrogant prick. But what they don’t know is your bark is worse than your bite. And that bite doesn’t scare me...”
Jenn: I devoured “Love Sincerely Yours” and now I want to drown in it’s awesomeness. This was such a FUN, SEXY, SWEET read! Leslie M-I think you would love this! :)
  • Thick by Alexa Riley <— LIVE!! ALEXA RILEY’S LATEST!! HE’S ALWAYS THE BIGGEST IN THE ROOM... “…Teeny has just moved into a brand new place and curiosity has gotten the better of her. When she meets her new neighbor she’s not prepared for how big or how hot he is. The gentle giant has her fantasies running wild and she’s learning what it means to love thy neighbor...”
  • January (Calendar Men Series Book 1) by Jude Ouvrard <— RECENTLY RELEASED!! EX-MILITARY HERO WITH MEMORY LOSS AND SUFFERING IN HIS PARENTS BASEMENT… “…Evan has become broody and gets lost in the darkness of his thoughts more often. Which is no surprise, when he doesn’t see an end to his therapy appointments and can’t seem to get out of his parents’ basement. At her wit’s end, his mother decides it’s enough. Little by little, Mrs. Keeler convinces Evan to try and get better. To get back to living. The catch is, because he’s suffering from memory loss, Evan can’t put all the pieces back together…”
  • Love At Center Court Series by Rachel Blaufeld <— BOTH BOOKS in this series are super-bargain priced today!!
Kathy P: Verite by Rachel Blaufield. It is a sports romance talking place in college which deals with inter racial dating, 4.5 for me!
  • 5 Words: Paradox Ink Trilogy by Melanie Walker <— RECENTLY RELEASED!!! SHE WANTS COMMITMENT & THEN SHE TOOKS HIS DAUGHTER AWAY… “…I mourn her, every minute of the day. In sleep, in work and in fun… at every turn I see the cherub grin and deep brown curls of the love of my life. Kace Deja Sullivan was almost three when she vanished from my life. Now I wait each day for word that she will come home, somehow. I have no time for love or relationships. I run a successful tattoo shop in Gig Harbor and have the best crew in the state. I have friends that never falter… and I have the memories of one night where I almost had Mya…”

Maisey’s obsession with solving the mystery of her sister forces her to examine her darkest memories...”
  • Can’t Let Her Go <— LIVE!! ORGANIZED CRIME & SHE’S FORBIDDEN TO HIM… “…I’m Irish and saying no to hot Russian chicks was not part of my DNA. So I didn’t. Morning! *tosses Grey’s Friday glitter*

No clue what to read this weekend. Still waiting for something to knock my socks off. Maybe I will start my re-read of Waiting for the Sun? Or…re-read another old fave. I need a sure-thing. ;)

Leslie M March 15, 2019 at 8:03 AM

Maryse, I remember Don’t Let Go. That’s been on my TBR for years. Looking forward to your review.

Maryse March 15, 2019 at 8:15 AM

YAY!!! It just hit my radar last week when I created that post, and then a few days later, the comments started coming in thanking the recommender saying how it hit the spot and was exactly what they were looking for…
I knew it had to be mine.

Michele G March 15, 2019 at 9:48 AM

Yikes…my apologies to anyone on my GR feed…I just added a bunch to my TBR! Also, I know what I’m reading when I finish my current read…Over You. I read an extended blurb last night and I am totally hooked! I hope everyone has a good weekend!!

Nay March 15, 2019 at 5:10 PM

Omg! Why is it so quiet in here today? Are a lot of people on spring break? My son’s starts Monday, but we’re not doing anything.

Tasha J March 15, 2019 at 6:25 PM

I’ve been shopping all day for make up and picture outfits. I’m 3/4 of the way done and was feeling confident in all the outfits I got, until the kids said mine looks like something Grandma wears. *glares* (It’s a kimono) Now I’m gonna have to try it back on and ponder.

Tasha J March 15, 2019 at 6:26 PM

That seems early for spring break, Nay. Ours is tied into Easter, just a long weekend. Hey, our box shipped today! I think it should arrive in about 3 days.

Lora S March 15, 2019 at 6:35 PM

Ooh I love all the PSYCH-THRILLERS on this Friday Finds! I’m set for the weekend. Thanks Maryse!

Tessa March 15, 2019 at 10:08 PM

Ours varies year to year. Last year it was around this time of year. This year, it’s the week before Easter. My sister-in-law works for a school and her’s is in two weeks.

Maryse March 15, 2019 at 10:39 PM

Yay Lora!!!! I’m right there with you. I’ve already started Her. :D !!!

JulieO March 16, 2019 at 6:19 AM

Think I might read WAITING FOR YOU. I loved WORTH THE FALL. One of my favorites. Maybe will be as good.

Leslie M March 16, 2019 at 6:51 AM

Maryse (and anyone else), have you read The Something About Her by Rachel Higginson?? I know you loved this series. I hate the cover but decided to give it a try. It’s about Ezra’s sister and Vera’s brother. Fingers crossed it’s a good one.

Cheryl March 16, 2019 at 11:07 AM

Happy Saturday!! Have to caulk the backsplash and then it is officially done!!
Finished Daisy Jones and I agree with earlier comments that audio is the way to go. It was also a little frustrating to keep up with everyone because I was reading a hardcover I got from the library. I’ve gotten used to being able to search and keep notes on my kindle. It was a good story but tended to drag and I was waiting for the “big event” and it just fell flat.
Not sure what I am going to read next.

Cheryl March 16, 2019 at 11:12 AM

Funny, while organizing my Kindle I noticed the cover for the new release Over You is the same as Off the Air. Well, same guy, different background. ;)

Tasha J March 16, 2019 at 12:31 PM

Amy, I bought a ton of new makeup! Now, there were 2 lip cremes? I’m not sure what they’re called that I really liked and I’m thinking I want to go back and get the other one too. I ended up buying Tarte’s rainforest? Honestly I’m not sure what that line is, but I bet you’ll know in Salt lyfe. The other was, I think, a Sephora one that was a little pinker. And I got the Too faced better than sex mascara, a foundation primer by bare minerals for dry skin, a blush by Nars in Amour and a new eyeliner in an ashy brown. And the Naked 2 basics palette. I’m not sure about that one yet. I dk how to layer or whatever. I’ll check YouTube. Also, do you put eyeshadow primer on before the liner too?

bev March 16, 2019 at 2:42 PM

I keep reading about all the abuse and Corruption that is tied to some prominent kpop artist.

Why do so many men have such disrespect for women. Like we are not even people.
Makes me so sad and angry.

Jan March 16, 2019 at 5:28 PM

I know bev. But the tide is shifting and people are starting to call that bad behaviour out into the open more often now, and make the creepy men accountable. Our culture needs to keep changing for the better in this regard.

Leslie, I’ve read the Something About Her, and I liked it. My review is on GR if you want to have a look.

Jan March 16, 2019 at 5:30 PM

BTW Leslie, I liked the cover of The Something About Her. It was original and eye-catching. I know we’ve talked on here before about being SO SICK OF naked torso covers. This one is a nice change IMO.

dena March 17, 2019 at 5:40 AM

Hi guys! I woke up and I am in a mood to read some books with anti-heroine. I read jane doe and it was good but I still prefer a bit romance in it. Do you have any recomendation for heroine of Tarryn Fisher type or something like The evolution of ivy? Thanks!

Leslie M March 17, 2019 at 9:34 AM

Jan, I like sexy covers!! ;)

Since they are ebooks and I can “hide” them from outside world, I am cool with it. Honestly though my preference is a handsome clothed man. Or even the couple. I am in love with covers like Behind the Bars.

Leslie M March 17, 2019 at 9:38 AM

Bev, anyone in a position of power that takes advantage of or abuses anyone makes me sick. So I am hearing you. Like Jan said, I am glad to see it coming out in open so we can put a stop to it.

Leslie M March 17, 2019 at 9:46 AM

Dena, have you read Author Anonymous by E.K. Blair?

dena March 17, 2019 at 11:53 AM

Leslie M
No I did not. Thank you for the recommendation! :)

Tessa March 17, 2019 at 12:13 PM

Happy St Patty’s day!!!

Dena, also Diamonds by KA Linde. Definitely an anti-heroine, though the first book she is in high school. (part of the plot, not much takes place amongst high school stuff).

Nay March 17, 2019 at 4:42 PM

Maryse–I have a couple of books for your release list that came out this week, both on 3/14:

Rapture by N.N. Britt
–An angsty, emotional rollercoaster rockstar romance that deals with some dark stuff. Like “No Tomorrow”, it’s much different from other rockstar books, and lots of people are loving it–I floved it! The author is an L.A.-based photographer and journalist in the rock ‘world’, so she knows her subject matter very well. We mentioned this one on Thurs., but I think the posts got buried.

Storm the Castle (Marry the Scot series, #1) by Jolie Vines
–it’s set primarily in the Scottish Highlands (the hero’s name is Callum) and is about an arranged marriage to a Scottish laird. I can’t wait to read this one–I love when the h is called “lass” (swoooon).

Speaking of Irish–Happy St. Patrick’s Day!!

Tasha J March 17, 2019 at 5:20 PM

I’m driving myself crazy with my indecisiveness this weekend. I have everyone’s outfits picked out except for my husbands, which I thought would be the easiest. The little boys are wearing polos, 1 light blue–1?pageView=grid&pageSize=36&categoryId=300000000000934214&maxPrice=300&toItem=36 with jeans rolled at the ankles and duck boots and 1 bright green–1?utm_source=Paid&utm_medium=SEM&&utm_campaign=Google&utm_term=Mayoral_US_Paid_SEM_Google_Shoppingwith navy shorts and denim colored boat shoes. The girl is wearing a nice navy blouse with thin white stripes either underneath a pair of bibs rolled at the ankles or white shorts and brown gladiator sandles. I’m wearing blue jeans rolled at the ankles and a cream colored tee with a navy printed kimono Probably a brown sandle. And I was thinking hubs would wear a cream button down and denim shorts. Do you know how hard it is to find button downs that are cream? Nearly impossible. But, I found one close and I dk if I like them all together. It’s too blah or something, I dk if it fits! So, I’m driving myself crazy screenshooting everything online and setting them up in pic collage together for hours. And getting nowhere. Help? Ideas?

Jan March 17, 2019 at 5:46 PM

Leslie, I like sexy covers too, just not the torsos with unrealistic ten-packs. They just make me think the guy spends waaayyyy too much time in the gym. And frankly, I’d be a little scared of a guy with a bod like that! They don’t seem real.

I like a handsome clothed man on the cover too, or a couple together. I’d rather see faces than just a torso.

Maryse March 17, 2019 at 5:59 PM

Leslie… how are you liking The Something About Her? I do have that cued up at the top of my TBR list ’cause I love this series.

Maryse March 17, 2019 at 6:01 PM

Nay I’m quiet ’cause I’m still sick. This is the longest cold I’ve ever had I think. It’s obnoxious and miserable. I go through periods of thinking I’m getting better, to days where I realize it’s just “moving” to a new part of my body. I know so many in my entourage that have it too, and they’re saying the same thing. two to 3 weeks long…

Tessa March 17, 2019 at 7:35 PM

Tasha, I don’t know if when you were looking you did this, but when looking for cream, specify off-white. All cream shades fall under that “color” in fashion.

Tasha J March 17, 2019 at 8:16 PM

They don’t even have off white. Except that 1 I did find, but it’s barely and even still I dk if I like the idea. It doesn’t seem to fit with everything else. I’m wondering if I should just go navy. Like in a polo or button up? Or maybe a shade of green, but that’s about as laughable as the cream. And I thought about light blue too, like the other polo or a real light denim color? I’m all over the place – with everything and it’s driving me crazy. I think it’s my hormones. Lol

Tessa March 17, 2019 at 9:18 PM

Light blue would work. Match the one son.

Tessa March 17, 2019 at 9:19 PM

and now I am seeing ads for Maryoral. lol

Cheryl March 17, 2019 at 9:34 PM

Tasha, what about a pinstripe shirt button for your husband? Maybe blue and green stripe with cream/offwhite.

Cheryl March 17, 2019 at 9:35 PM

*button down*

dena March 18, 2019 at 11:41 AM

Tessa – thank you! I didn´t hear about this one yet
