Maya Banks – The Sweet Series Reading Order

in Reading Order Guide:

I received a few recommendations for this series, including one from Nicole:

“I see that you have read a few “Dom” books and I wanted to recommend Maya Banks “Sweet Series” I totally feel the same way you do about these type of books but this is definitely a series worth reading… I must finish by saying that when she says “very steamy” she is not exaggerating Maya Banks books are probably the most erotic books I have ever read. *blush* but very good!! :)

Okay… wow when I saw these covers, I *blushed* ;)

and a few of my Facebook friends concur!

Francine: My friend Michelle is on the 4th book…. she can’t stop talking about them!

Catherine: Oh Yes! They are awesome! The new one was released two weeks ago – Sweet Addiction. That will be my month end treat.

About the series:

The Sweet Series is a very steamy collection of stories that revolves around a group of friends and coworkers, most of whom are employed by a security company in Houston, Texas. Each book features a unique hero and heroine, but previous characters are often revisited and you get glimpses of old friends and catch up on relationships from previous books.

The author also let’s us know (on her blog) that she will be writing a spinoff:
“I’ll be writing a spin off series of the SWEET series involving Kane and his coworkers, boss etc.As I’ve explained on FB, this is not a romantic suspense series. It’s very much a sexy contemporary series where the focus is on the relationship between the hero and heroine. There may well be elements of suspense on a book by book basis, but it is definitely NOT the focus of the series whatsoever.”

I liked this series a lot (especially how it followed up on other characters from book to book) but HATED the conclusion. It really shouldn’t even be considered as part of the series because only one character carries over. It just seemed like it wrapped up to neatly and didn’t seem realistic.

I recommend these books too……………….VERY steamy is right, LOL! Menage elements too. (so reader beware). I like Banks KGI series a lot too. THe KGI series is more romantic suspense, but they are really good.

A friend of mine told me about these books…my question is…I ordered Sweet Addiction, Sweet Surrender, Sweet Possession, and Sweet Temptation…do I have to read them in any order?

I haven’t read these yet, but I would assume you could get the most out of the series if read in order.

Thanks for the GREAT recommendation! I just finished the Sweet Series after I found this site and I must say that it was STEAMY! (Nanci, you should read them in order.)

nanci- i was wondering the same question- this is what i found online….

All of that aside, the pages are STEAMY!!! These books are not for the faint of heart. Most of them contain some form of BDSM, public sexual activity, and menage to some degree. It is really important that you read the series in the order in which it was written, as to not ruin the endings for the following books. The books go in the following order: Sweet Surrender, Sweet Persuasion, Sweet Seduction, Sweet Temptation, Sweet Possession and the 6th installment will be released in April 2012 Sweet Addiction.

I read them out of order and still thoroughly enjoyed each of hem. I can’t wait for the spinoff with Kane and his crew. It was very fulfilling to read the series where all the characters are entertained in each others’ lives. Not to mentioned some pretty fascinating alpha males and feisty women who take control of their own desires. Loved them all :)

can you read these books in different order without getting lost on whats going on??

Lynne February 18, 2013 at 11:37 PM

I’ve read all of them. You really should read them in order, many of the characters show up in all the books. You’ll enjoy them more if you know the background. Micah is my favorite, but his book is Intense!! Enjoy :)

Loved this series. Especially that the characters continue to be included as you read through the series.
Wish she would do more series or trilogies like this.

just read the first 3 in the series and am waiting for the library to send me the last few and WOW talk about HOT!!.. at first i wasn’t real sure i’d keep reading them cause they aren’t your average romance novel if ya get my drift but now i’m just wondering if there’s other series out there that are similar.. lol :) if ya have any recommendations i’d love to know thanks (already plan on checking out the rest of maya banks stuff and not real interested in 50 shades started to read it and didn’t like the way it was written seemed immature other than the “scenes” of which i only read one of) thanks

I just downloaded the first book of this series. Last night I finished the Temptation series by K.M. Golland. If you haven’t read those yet, you should. Great story!

danielle read the series by J.R. Ward called The Black Dagger Brotherhood. They are VERY well written-all 12 of them and still going! I recommend these to anyone who asks ‘what’s a good book to read?’

danielle August 23, 2013 at 7:08 AM

Is the sweet series a continuous one? Meaning there’s more after sweet addiction? Just finished with crossfire and I think I’ll try maya banks this week. Thanks!! :-)

I loved the sweet series! A very must read! I am a but confused tho. I have seen the series where on the cover it has fruit…. And then I’ve seen it were there is a woman n whatnot. Is there a difference between the two? I’ve read the books online or at least half of it. Now IM trying to buy them but I want to make sure I buy the right set. Right now I have.sweet temptation and on the cover it has a woman on it. Sweet surrender I had bought but it has fruit on it…would that matter?
