Reader Question – The historical romance book about an illegitimate son who is in love with his brother’s fiancé…

Sheri needs our book help! Ohhhh sordid!! This is like my “in love with her sister’s man” category but, you know. The opposite. 😂 Maybe I should make that a category, now too.

She asks:

Remember reading a historical book about an illegitimate son who is in love with his brothers intended. Here’s what I remember

  1. H is illegitimate. His father slept with his mother but she was evil so she didn’t get married to him he ends up illegitimate. She’s dead.
  2. His father married his aunt and they raised him together. He loves his aunt
  3. He has a brother who is supposed to marry h but H writes a letter to h declaring his love for her.

I’ve tried every single way of looking for this book but can’t seem to find it. Anyone know what I’m talking about?

Ok so i don’t remember the starting point of the novel bt i think it is small town romance and grumpy sunshine trope.

The girl moved in with her mom and there she meets the H who is friends with her mom and i think is her neighbour too.

Obviously she’s attracted to him but he always acts cool to her advances because i think there is age gap too between them but he starts reciprocating her advances but never gave in fully and their relationship always remains rocky. read more

This one came as a request on Facebook (thank you Nancy!!), and how could I resist? I LOVE THIS TROPE!!! Nothing better (in angsty-romance-heartachy books!!) than that shocking moment of heartache, after thinking you’ve finally found your forever.

And then the whole pining, and moments of hopefulness to moments of feeling utterly dejected. I always wonder what the HEA will end up looking like. OR IF there will be an HEA at all.
