Book Review – The Long Walk by Stephen King

February 16, 2024 By Maryse Leave a Comment

The Long Walk <— OMG ONE OF MY FAVORITE STEPHEN KING STORIES EVER!! And it’s on sale today! In fact, even though I’ve read it, I no longer have my paperback copy, so I’m one-clicking this one now!!

I remember everything about it, even where I was when I read it. I was in college, and it was a weekend at my then-boyfriend’s grandparents house. My boyfriend was having band practice with his crew, so I happily stayed behind, lying on her couch, my legs & feet propped up against the top of it, with her colorful knit afghan draped across the top and kept slipping down ’cause of my position. read more

July 31, 2023 By Maryse Leave a Comment

Jamie is looking for this one, and I think I know it!! 🙂

I read this about 4 years ago, and it was really good! I’m going to guess: Folsom (The End of Men Book 1 by Tarryn Fisher & Willow Aster. P.S. Here’s my book review.

She asks:

Hello,

Years ago I read a book; pretty sure it’s a series about a world in which there are few men. The men that are left travel around to have sex with different women in hopes of breeding more men.

The h meets the H when he comes to her home to have sex with her and her sister. read more

Book Review – Tender Is the Flesh by Agustina Bazterrica

April 12, 2023 By Maryse Leave a Comment

Tender Is the Flesh <— Welp. That was interesting. 😉

Here I was, silently perusing my Facebook feed when I came upon a book recommendation request, and THIS one showed up. There was shock and awe right after and a mini-discussion of sorts about it (’cause it’s ummm…*ahem* a cannibalism one). So I HAD to have it. Yep. I paid full price, and it’s not that long of a book.

Maryse: I’m reading one that I saw on my Facebook feed, in the comments of a post about book recommendations. read more
