I remember way back when… after a scary movie (or book), I’d not only keep all the lights on in the house, I’d wake up after a nightmare (or scary noise) and stare at my closet and tremble. If I was with friends, we’d dare each other to peek under my bed… just in case (and I would totally do it and eeeeeeeep!!). But if I was alone… I wouldn’t even get up to go to the bathroom. And IF I had to… I’d leap from the bed as far away as I could so nothing would yank on my ankle while I attempted to get up. Why would I DO that to myself, you ask? *grins* I dunno. I JUST LOVE it!!! Oh don’t get me wrong… while I watch (or read) the horror, I ask myself that question all the time.
Whoa. Halloween decorations are already popping up everywhere. How am I so late with this, you ask? LOL!!! Apparently, the end of summer has officially arrived… a week or so ago. *whoops* I don’t think Florida received the memo yet… (87° right now) and ’cause of that, I er… “missed” the memo, too. Hey if it looks like summer, and feels like summer, it’s summer! And October in Florida didn’t get the memo either, ’cause I’m still not getting that cold blast of brisk air in the morning. Or the smell of wood burning. *sigh* My favorite time of the year. *taps foot at October* Cool it down, will ya? 😉
What’s your all-time favorite book (if you could choose just one)? Oh, I know (and I’m sorry to put your book-loving brain through this one…) It’s a toughie and it’s almost impossible for us to choose. I know I stumble over that question regularly. 😉 Our absolute favorite can depend on our current mood, or the genre, or simply the fact that… a few just equally stand out as our #1.
Our favorites can be one that has sentimental value, can be from our childhood, can be our “first”… or can be the one that put us in a reading frenzy. Our favorite might even be one that seems to be everyone’s favorite. Or it might be one that’s just a little more personal. A little more… obscure.
You can’t think straight, see straight, but you’re as happy as can be…
My latest famous actor crush? I’d re-watch his movie a million times – in a row – and not eat for days. My latest rock star crush? I’d listen to his voice (yah, it seems it was always the singer for me), and not eat for days. My latest “real-boy” crush? Yeah… you get the picture.
Dena: any chance you will put together a list of “dark” reads on your blog?
Alicia: She has dark reads…how dark do you wanna go? She’s got the BDSM dark, but if you want darker, there’s a few out there that aren’t on here.
Dena: I loved her recommendation for the captive in the dark series, Comfort Food, etc..
