Jeanette is looking for this one! I feel like I’ve read one very close to this and wonder if it IS the one I’m thinking of, but the spoiler below is a huge twist and it’s been so long since I’ve read it so I can’t quite remember the details.

It’s been a while since i listened to this audiobook and i cant remember the name of the book or characters. The audiobook was a little of an age gap. It follows a young orphaned heroine who loses both parents, in a car crash caused by a teenaged boy and his drunk father.

SpoilerSome years later the grown teenaged boy bumps into the heroine not knowing who she is and they have a one night stand where she tells him about her broken watch that was given to her by her dead parents.
The hero discovers that she is the girl from the car crash because of the watch, and attempts to take his life, on the same mountain side that her parents died on and leaves her a significant amount of money because he thinks it will make her feel better.
There are two more books in the trilogy. In the later books the hero discovers that the lady who works in a diner is his mother. And the hero and heroine have a baby
