Amy needs our book help! Oooooooh police romance. I LOVE those and I also love a bad-ass vigilante heroine! YAY US!!! OH!!! Ohhhhhhh!!!
I solved it by accident! I was looking up vigilante heroines, and found this one has been asked (and solved!!) in the past. Yeeeears ago, even. So I will solve it right now for her, and post it anyway, since I bet there’s a bunch of us that want to read it. 🙂
She asks:
RE: Vigilante heroine and Cop hero
Hi Maryse,
I hope you are doing well today!
I am hoping you can help me find a book that I think aligns to the following description:
Vigilante heroine whose family was murdered.
She knows the police captain of a local captain, who is unaware she has been murdering the people who killed her family or perhaps people that hurt others. He invites to the station and introduces her to a detective who he assigns to her as bodyguard or something.
They are immediately attracted to each other. He is not conventionally attractive and she does not like being touched. After the meet, cop guy is listening in on her conversations and hears her saying to her friend she wanted to jump into his lap or something.
Long story short, he loves listening in on her phone calls and they start dating and she is comfortable having him touch her.
Part of a series.
She might also be a deejay.
I hope this helps me find it.
Thank you!
Anyone have a guess?
Maryse: —> Reader Question – The book about the girl who was a DJ vigilante and the “unattractive” police officer… (per this old-ass question from 2017 😂 the answer is):
Robyn: This sounds like one of my favorite books! Is it Brutal (Detroit After Dark) series by K S Adkins? The girls name is Venessa, she is a DJ and a vigilante and gets involved with a cop!
Emy: Hello Maryse, Yes, this is the one!! Thank you so much!
Best wishes,Emy
