The Vengeance Series by Marcy Bialeschki <— MYSTERY ROMANCE THRILLER ALERT!! Four books in this series and it’s complete & it’s today’s book feature (or in this case, the whole series feature!!) Today’s post & newsletter sponsored by Words Matter Publishing!!
The author says:
“You’ll want a love like Aria and Mac.”
When characters are so incredibly real that you relate to them on a personal level—their story isn’t over.
When two characters have such a deep, emotional connection to one another—their relationship must continue.
When an author falls in love with her main characters—that’s how a stand-alone novel grows into a four-book series. That’s how Marcy Bialeschki’s award-winning debut novel, Deception & Consequences, became the Vengeance Series.
About book #1:
Meeting Simon Longoria on the beach in St. Lucia seemed like a dream come true. For Aria Donaldson, it was the vacation of a lifetime complete with sand, sun, and lots of raw, adventurous sex. At the time, Aria had no idea that her encounter with Simon would entwine her with Deuce Halprin, a sinister man determined to destroy her family. When an ominous dream from her childhood begins playing out in real life, Aria is convinced that Simon is somehow involved, and her real nightmare begins.
In the midst of unimaginable danger, Aria meets her guardian angel, her soulmate, her lover-Mac Brunner. As Aria and Mac’s romance heats up, Aria discovers that she is at the center of a nasty family feud that goes back a generation. Aria and Mac now must uncover the family secrets that Deuce Halprin is determined to protect. Haunted by the deception lurking in her past, Aria faces its consequences and finds herself caught between the life she always knew and the reality she must face.
5 FACTS
1. Sugar Woodfired Bistro, Kuchie’s on the Water, and Kelleher’s Irish Pub are actual establishments in Peoria, Illinois that help create the authentic backdrop for Mac and Aria’s world.
2. Why Peoria? While in college at Western Illinois, Marcy would spend most Sundays in Peoria with her roommate and other friends who called it their home town. When she needed a location for her first novel, Peoria and the places she loves there immediately came to mind.
3. Marcy used her maiden name (McDonald) for her beloved character McDonald “Mac” Brunner.
4. Marcy created her charming character named ‘Coach’ in her father’s likeness. Marcy’s father never owned a bar, but he was inducted into the Illinois Basketball Coaches Hall of Fame. This is why his bar in Deception & Consequences is named Coach’s Hall of Fame.
5. Marcy added Book IV, Secrets & Infidelity: The Interquel, to make all of the intricate details in the first three books come together without inconsistencies and without leaving crucial elements unexplained for the reader. By the end of Book III, even Marcy needed this clarification, and she used the interquel as a checklist, so every detail was explained.
Powerful Female Leads Who Grow and Empower Themselves: It’s Marcy’s Trope
The Vengeance Series:
Aria Donaldson is an ordinary woman who’s thrown into extraordinary circumstances, yet she meets each life changing discovery of her family’s twisted secrets head on, empowering her and proving that adversity only makes her stronger. Aria also discovers that the man she once thought was her guardian angel is now her equal, her partner. With Mac’s love and support, they both learn that Aria doesn’t need him anymore– she wants him, and the difference is what makes their love so exceptional and rare.
CiCi Halprin, the matriarch of the Vengeance Series, is a remarkable contradiction of character whose dreams are constantly stifled by the men in her life. For CiCi, loving one man but settling for another has taken its toll, but she refuses to let men dictate every aspect of her life. She’s proof that powerful women become powerful navigating life’s hardships. Women with CiCi’s tenacity may not always win, but they do always survive, which is a feat all its own.
