BILLIONAIRE ROMANCE ALERT! THREE MORE OF HER RIVERS WILDE BOOKS have been re-released and with new covers!! GORGEOUS!!
And back when The Daredevil was first released, the author posted this AMAZING sweet story on her Facebook page. She said:
Thank you all so much for you unbelievable outpouring of support today. The Daredevil’s Cover reveal has been amazing and I’m so excited that I can finally talk about joining The 1001 Dark Nights 2021 Collection! It’s the most amazing thing that’s happened to me professionally since I started writing and I’m so honored by your excitement on my behalf!
I can’t say a proper thank you without telling you how this all happened.
In June, my amazing friend Kennedy Ryan published her blockbuster masterpiece, Queen Move, with Blue Box Press – which is an imprint of @1,001 Dark Night. On her release day, in the Discovery Spotlight section of Blue Box’s newsletter, she wrote a beautiful and heartwarming recommendation featuring me and my books.
Her recommendation was also persuasive… It promoted Liz Berry, one of the publishers and owners of 1,001 Dark Nights/ Blue Box Press picked up my book Thicker Than Water.
After she read it, she sent me an email telling me how much she enjoyed it. Like most of you reading I know who Liz Berry is, and I’m a huge fan of the 1001 Dark Nights novellas.
But in June 2020, I was in what felt like the valley of my career. And the last thing I expected was that Liz’s excitement about my work (she went on to read The Rivers Wilde Series) would become anything more than the much needed boost of confidence our email exchanges gave me.
So when she called me in mid July, the very last thing I expected her say was that she was inviting me to write Rivers Wilde novella for 1001 Dark Nights. But that is exactly what she said. I’m sure I screamed, I’m certain I blubbered, but the minute or two after she said it is a blur. I signed my agreement that afternoon! And there hasn’t been a day since that I haven’t giggled like a mad woman and pinched myself that this happened.
I know I’ve said it a million times, but thank you so much, Kennedy. I admire you tremendously and your endorsement of me meant more than I can begin to say. I endeavor to always be worthy of it!
Thank you SO much to Liz Berry, Jillian Greenfield Stein, and the entire 1001 Dark Nights team! – The cover is SO gorgeous, thank you for letting me run with the idea and being so supportive and patient! I am incredibly honored by the opportunity and I can’t wait to make magic with you guys!!
Thank you to Jenn Watson (my Joe!! love you so much!!) and her team of superstars at Social Butterfly PR for the amazing graphics and the HUGE blast today – you guys are amazing and I am so grateful that you picked me up when no one even knew my name. I really love you. ❤
Thank you Melissa Panio-Petersen for being my right and left arms today – you make days like today stress free!! Love you endlessly, and I love working with you.
Thank you to my bloggers, and readers who were as excited as I was when I got the news – you guys put fuel in my tank!!
To my Street team – The Dream Pushers for shouting so loudly for me! I love you ladies!! Thank you!I always say I have the best friends in the world – and I do…you know who you are!! Thank you for straightening my crown, for telling me when I’m wrong, for forgiving me for the things I can’t help and for loving me even when its hard. You make me feel like the luckiest girl in the world.
Love you,
D xoxo
Ps – sorry it’s so long!
AND NOW… HERE THEY ARE:
The Daredevil (Rivers Wilde Book 4)
The Daredevil Excerpt
I envy him that—knowing what he wants, being sure about where he belongs.
I used to think I knew exactly where my life was going. So much so, that I’ve spent the ten years since the slip-up with Kayleigh busting my ass to prove that I was fit to lead.
But it wasn’t enough. A few months ago, my mother passed me up for the job I’d spent my whole life preparing for, despite the fact that I was more than qualified for it. I went from being the heir apparent to lead at Wilde World—a role I’d always thought of as my destiny—to facing the possibility that it might not happen.
The bonds of my relationship with my mother have gone from strained to threadbare. She likes to say everything changed in the blink of an eye, but the truth is, nothing changed at all. She just saw something of my father in me that she hated, and she’s been making me pay for his sins ever since.
But I’m done letting her.
I walk over to the railing of the wraparound porch and stare out into the night, rolling my neck to loosen the knots that always form when I think about my f*cked-up family.
This job I’ve been pursuing in Paris would give me a chance to breathe and see who I can be without them. And then tonight, my mother makes her announcement. That not only does she have a man—she’s moving her offices to London to be close to him. I’m happy for her, but it’s not exactly the distance I was hoping for.
A door on the other end of the verandah opens, and a woman steps through it, but she’s too shadowed for me to see who it is.
“It doesn’t matter what you say, I’m done.” It’s Dina, Wilde World’s newest star employee and current president of the Tyson Wilde Haters Association. The membership is comprised of disgruntled one-night stands, athletic rivals, and guys I’ve f*cked up for disrespecting my sister.
The Mastermind (Rivers Wilde Book 5)
The Mastermind Excerpt
I hang up and put my phone on silent.
I sit there, my eyes glued to the scenery but not seeing any of it. “Shit.” I drop my head into my hands, sadder than I am angry.
I left. And now I can’t fix it without eating humble pie I have zero appetite for.
“The best revenge is forgiveness.” The words, whispered by a voice so close to my ear that the speaker’s lips brush them, startles me out of my seat.
It happens so quickly that I hear a telltale crunch of bone and her howl of pain before I realize the back of my head has connected with the soft cartilage of a nose. I turn around, full of apologies, and freeze.
It’s Jules, the girl behind the bar at my local that makes my tongue tied and clumsy.
Her sob of pain and the blood running from her nose and down her chin onto the floor shake me out of my stupor.
I pull my handkerchief from my pocket. “I’m so sorry. Here, use this, I’ll get help.”
“What in the world is going on out here?” Reena asks as she approaches from inside the open terrace door. She stops mid-stride when she sees her friend doubled over and crying with my dark yellow handkerchief pressed to her bloody nose.
“Christ on a cracker, what did you do?”
“He broke my nose. Cause he’s a break,” Jules says in a nasally but garrulous voice. She laughs and then moans in pain.
“What does that mean?” Reena asks.
“I don’t know, maybe I knocked her senseless. Who cares? She needs the A&E.” I slip the backpack now dangling from her elbows off and sling it over my shoulder. I can’t believe I hurt her. I put a hand on her shoulder and try to pat it soothingly.
Reena pulls out her phone. “I’ll order the Uber.”
“No, I have my car, I’ll drive.”
“Perfect. Let me grab my purse.”
“You can’t leave your party.”
“I can’t leave my friend,” she pushes back.
Beside me, Jules moans softly. “We’re wasting time. I’ll call you and let you know where we are. I promise.”
“You better. I’ll come as soon as I say goodbye to everyone.”
I put an arm around her shoulders, and she lets her body relax against mine as we walk to the lift. I was a deer in the headlights at the bar earlier and totally f*cked up. But she went from cute bartender with a killer smile to a sex pot with zero warning. I blanked. I hoped I’d think of a way to rectify myself by Sunday.
“It hurts so much,” Jules says in a small voice that tugs at my guilt and worry.
“I know, but we’ll get you fixed right up.”
I’m sure her nose will be fine. But after this, I’ll be lucky if she ever graces me with one of those put the sun to shame smiles again.
The Wild Card (Rivers Wilde Book 6)
The Wild Card Excerpt
“I drop my phone into my pocket and grab my suitcase’s handle to turn around. “Hey, watch—” I hear him too late and crash into the man trying to warn me with a thud that knocks the wind out of me and pushes me back onto my heels. I windmill my arms to try and correct my balance but cry out as it proves in vain and my body teeters backward. I brace myself for a fall. Instead, an arm wraps around my waist and I find myself staring into the mirrored lenses of a dark pair of Ray-Bans.
Even with his eyes hidden and his face covered in sweat, he’s easily one of the most handsome men I’ve ever seen in person. He’s got a mouth most women would envy and a nose that belongs in a museum. His pores are amazing. I need to find out what he uses on his skin.
“Are you alright?” he asks, still hovering over me, still holding me up as if I weighed nothing.
“Yes.” I cough to clear the husk from my voice. “I’m sorry I wasn’t watching where I was going.”
“I was,” he murmurs.
“You were…watching where I was going?”
“No. Where I was going. So, I saw you. Caught you.” The heat from his hand seeps through the thin fabric of my sundress.
I can’t see his eyes but I swear I can feel them on my face and I don’t like that I can’t see him. And that’s my cue to end this little…whatever it is.
“Can you let me up?” I press my hands to his chest.
“Oh.” He starts as if he didn’t realize he was holding me.
“Yes, sorry.” He straightens and lets me go. But the heat from his touch doesn’t.
“Thanks for breaking my fall. I’m Cassie.” I give a lame wave.
He flashes an unfairly perfect grin. “Nice to meet you. How long are you here?”
“All week. I’m working at the resort. You?” I ask as he starts to jog in place and glances at his watch.
“Two weeks. At least. So…maybe I’ll see you around?”
“Sure. What’s your name?”
“They call me Wild Card.” He winks and runs off.
Oh shit. I’ve already f*cked up. Well at least I know who to avoid.
“I glance over my shoulder and watch him run away, his back muscles a thing of art and perfection, and sigh. “What a waste.”
