Robin needs our book help! Oh this sounds like my exact type of book, and heartache. It’s sort of sparking a memory, but probably because I’m naturally drawn to this trope, so I may be remembering similar circumstances…

Can’t think of the name of the book or the author.
I read 15 maybe 20 yrs ago and frankly until this day I’ve tried to forget everything about it. It makes me weep as I am now… seriously.
Anyways about the book…
Two teenagers (boy/girl) he a little older than she had been friend’s for ages as I recall. He might have been the babysitter for her and younger siblings. As it would be they fell in love and all hell broke loose.
He was arrested because she wasn’t 18 yet and it goes ugly ugly down hill from there. What they went through was atrocious and I’ll stop here because the ending turned me to an ugly ugly mess!
Maryse what’s the name of this book that has stuck with me so many years?

Maryse: That is one came to mind for me, except the babysitter was an adult and she was just a small child still, and it was a more recent book.
