Couldn’t help but raise my eyebrows at a couple of these brand spankin’ new releases of the day.
<— Especially THIS one:
Allure by Lacey Weatherford <— This one sounds all sorts of unconventional love and taboo… and it seems to have it all! 1.) he’s a tattoo artist, 2.) AND a stripper 3.) And he’s her older brother’s friend. 4.) he doesn’t seem to know she exists. 5.) He’s got a steady girlfriend. and 6.) She (the heroine) is only 17. GAH! “But what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas…right?” Eeeeeeep!!! 😉
Trapped by Beverley Kendall <—- Ooooooh!!! She has a baby in her teens, her long-term boyfriend leaves her and then… “She may not have been planned, but I’ve never regretted having her. She is the center of my world. A world that’s turned upside down when my ex returns ready to earn the love and trust of the child he abandoned before birth. Letting him into my daughter’s life is one thing but letting him back into mine isn’t going to happen. Because the biggest mistake of my life has a name, and that name is Mitchell Aaron Kingsley. And he’s one mistake I don’t ever intend to make again.” That sounds like it’ll be tumultuous!
Unchain My Heart (Scorpio Stinger MC Book 2) by Jani Kay <— BIKER BOOK ALERT!! Okay this is a continuation of book #1, so I can’t read the blurb, but maybe you’ve been waiting for it?
Until We Fly (The Beautifully Broken Book 4) by Courtney Cole <— Ex-army ranger back in his hometown… “When Brand left, she was away at boarding school. But she’s back now. And she wants Brand, scars and all.”
UnWritten by Chelsea M. Cameron <— She’s a romance author doing some… research. 😉 “Declan Bennet has all the qualifications: He’s British, looks fabulous in a suit, has glorious blue eyes and gets bonus points for being an amazing single dad to his adorable son, Drake. But what starts out as a research project quickly turns into something much more. And Blair’s not the only one with secrets.”
The Bad Boys of Summer Anthology by Emily Snow, Erin Noelle, J.S. Cooper, Michelle Lynn, Nevaeh Lee, Selena Laurence, Shanora Williams, T. Torrest <— Just released AND it’s seven Full-Length romances from NYT, USA Today and Amazon Bestselling Authors. PLUS!! All proceeds from the sale will go to a charity!
Let Love Live (The Love Series Book 5) by Melissa Collins <— New M/M romance! “Conner Michelson is about to change everything Dylan knows. He’s every bit the bad boy persona – tatted up, ex-MMA fighter, but after an injury leaves him unable to fight, he has to rethink his goals…”
Empty Net: The Assassins Series: The Assassins Series by Toni Aleo <— Plus a super-sale. Hockey star!!
Unwritten by Chelsea Cameron went live today on Amazon. Woo Hoo!
Thanks Melody!! I’m adding it. 😀
The Bad Boys of Summer Anthology is live also…it’s only $0.99 and has 7 full-length novels from best-selling authors. All proceeds go to charity also 🙂
Allure sounds delish! Thanks Maryse.
It does!! 😀
Allure…daaaaaaaaamn, that sounds like it’s right up our alley. 😉 So far there are 17 reviews, and every single one is 5 stars. It’s looking promising!
Take by Ella Frank is live! I am loving it so far.
I couldn’t resist the allure of Allure. *snicker*
I’m about halfway into it and I’m sorry to say that so far it hasn’t delivered. The isn’t enough character development to allow me to merge with the characters. Traumatic life events are mentioned but not “felt”, if you know what I mean. It’s not bad. Certainly good enough to finish. And if it delivers a big bang in the last half of the book, it could even turn out to be a “good” one. But even now I think I already know what’s happening next. And if it’s treated with the same lack of perception into the characters as the first half, then it’s going to leave me with an “ehh”. Haha you like my oh so descriptive words? Ugh, ehh, meh…sometimes seem to say it all. Maybe some of you will read it and get a different take on it than I did.
Jenna, Broken Wings by Erica Ashby was gut-wrenching. I’ve cried thru books before but this one….I was still crying hours later.
Ok, I managed to finish it. Sorry ladies but Allure was only 2 stars for me. It not only needs an editor, the story itself needs substance. All the right qualities are the to make a great story, but they were not supported. I could have a bullet point outline and felt the same as reading the book. Looking on the bright side, at least it gave me a break from all the heartbreaking stories I’ve read recently.
